| 2 | Assessment of Waterlogging Risk in Lixiahe Region of Jiangsu Province Based on AVHRR and MODIS Image显示文摘Four images of 1991 AVHRR, 2003 and 2007 MODIS were used to extract waterlogging inundated water of three years, and three inundated water maps were overlaid to estimate waterlogging affected frequency. Based on wa-terlogging affected frequency, waterlogging hazard of pixel scale was assessed. According to the weighed score of area percentage of different waterlogging affected frequency in 13 counties/cities of Lixiahe region, waterlogging hazard rank of every county/city was assessed. Waterlogging affected frequency map and 1km×1km grid landuse map were used to assess waterlogging risk of pixel scale; and then waterlogging risk rank of every county/city was assessed by the similar method by which waterlogging hazard rank of every county/city was assessed. High risk region is located mainly in core zone of Lixiahe hinterland, medium risk region is adjacent to high risk region, and low risk region is located in the most outlying area of risk zone and mainly in south to middle part of Lixiahe region. Xinghua and Gaoyou belong to high risk city, Jiangyan belongs to medium risk city, and the other counties/cities have low or lower waterlogging risk. The method of assessing waterlogging risk in this paper is simple and applicable. | 3 | Effect of Arctium lappa L.in the dextran sulfate sodium colitis mouse model显示文摘AIM:To analyze the possible protective role of Arctium lappa L.(AL)in a murine model of ulcerative colitis(UC).METHODS:BALB/c mice were administered 100 mg/kg AL powder orally each day.After 7 d,colitis was induced by administration of dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)(5% W/V)in drinking water for a further 8 consecutive days.Diarrhea and bloody stools as well as colonic histology were observed.The level of interleukin-6(IL-6)and tu-mor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in colonic sections were detected by immunohistochemistry.RESULTS:There were significant differences in mean body weight values and disease activity indices between controls and AL-treated animals.Moreover,the histological findings showed that AL treatment can prevent mucosal edema,submucosal erosions,ulceration,inflammatory cell infiltration and colon damage.In addition,immunohistochemistry analysis showed that the levels of the inflammatory cytokines,IL-6 and TNF-α were also decreased in AL-treated groups.CONCLUSION:We suggest that AL can prevent intestinal damage and decrease inflammatory cytokines in mice with DSS-induced colitis.Thus,AL could prove to be a useful food for UC. | Tzou-Chi Huang Shinn-Shyong Tsai Li-Fang Liu Yu Lin Liu Hung-Jen Liu Kuo Pin Chuang | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,33: | 10 |

| 5 | Comparison of OA-2000 and IOL Master 500 using in cataract patients with high myopia显示文摘This study was designed to compare optical biometry measurements and predicted refraction in cataract patients with high myopia [axial length(AL) ≥26 mm] using OA-2000 and IOL Master 500. Ocular biometry measurements were performed using both biometers before surgery. Uneventful cataract surgery was performed in all patients. Postoperative manifest refraction was obtained 3 wk after surgery or later. A total of 67 eyes were examined. The AL, keratometry(K), and anterior chamber depth(ACD) of the two biometers showed excellent agreement. Predicted errors were similar and a strong positive correlation was observed(r=0.909). Out of 21 eyes(31.34%) with unsuccessful AL readings using the IOL Master 500, 20 eyes of them could be measured using OA-2000. Therefore, the biometric parameters measured by the two biometers showed good agreement. | 6 | Huge pelvi-abdominal malignant inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor with rapid recurrence in a 14-year-old boy显示文摘Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor(IMT) is an uncommon benign neoplasm with locally aggressive behavior but malignant change is rare.We report an unusual case of pelvic-abdominal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor with malignant transformation in a 14-year-old boy presenting with abdominal pain and 9 kg body weight loss in one month.Computed tomography revealed a huge pelvi-abdominal mass(30 cm),possibly originating from the pelvic extraperitoneal space,protruding into the abdomen leading to upward displacement of the bowel loops,downward displacement of the urinary bladder,massive central necrosis,a well-enhanced peripheral solid component with prominent peritumoral vascularity.Subsequent examination confirmed the computed tomographic findings.Histopathologic examination revealed proliferative epitheloid and spindle cells,inflammatory cell infiltration and high mitotic counts.Immunohistochemistry was strongly positive for anaplastic lymphoma kinase and revealed a high proliferative index(ki-67 = 40%).DNA sequencing and electronic microscopy further confirmed the primitive fibroblastic cell phenotype of the tumor and a final diagnosis of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor with malignant transformation was established.Rapid tumor recurrence was noted 20 d after radical tumor resection.To our knowledge,this is the largest documented case of IMT in a pediatric patient and the first report of IMT with malignant transformation originating from the pelvic extraperitoneal space. | Chia-Hsun Lu Hsuan-Ying Huang Han-Koo Chen Jiin-Haur Chuang Shu-Hang Ng Sheung-Fat Ko | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,21: | 9 |

To overcome this problem, we propose the regularized least-squares reverse time migration method(RLSRTM)using the singular spectrum analysis technique that imposes sparseness constraints on the inverted model. Additionally,the difference spectrum theory of singular values is presented so that RLSRTM can be implemented adaptively to eliminate the migration artifacts. Population Using cyp17a1-Deficient Neomale Carp显示文摘Due to sexual dimorphism in the growth of certain cultured fish species,the production of monosex fishes is desirable for the aquaculture industry.Nowadays,the most widely practiced technique available for the mass production of monosex fish populations is sex steroid-induced sex reversal.Here,a novel strategy for the successful production of all-female(AF)common carp(Cyprinus carpio L.),to take advantage of the sexual dimorphism in growth documented in this species,has been developed using genetic engineering via single gene-targeting manipulation without any exogenous hormone treatments.Male and female heterozygous cyp17a1-deficient common carp were first obtained using the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated endonuclease 9(CRISPR/Cas9)technique.An all-male phenotype for homozygous cyp17a1-deficient carp,regardless of the individuals’sexdetermination genotypes(XY or XX),has been observed.A male-specific DNA marker newly identified in our laboratory was used to screen the neomale carp population with the XX genotype from the cyp17a1-deficient carp.These neomale carp develop a normal testis structure with normal spermatogenesis and sperm capacity.The neomale common carp were then mated with wild-type(WT)females(cyp17a1^(+/+)XX genotype)using artificial fertilization.All the AF offspring sample fish from the neomale-WT female mating were confirmed as having the cyp17a^(1+/-)XX genotype,and normal development of gonads to ovaries was observed in 100.00%of this group at eight months post-fertilization(mpf).A total of 1000 carp fingerlings,500 from the WT male and female and 500 from the neomale and WT female mating,were mixed and reared in the same pond.The average body weight of cyp17a1^(+/-)XX females was higher by 6.60%(8 mpf)and 32.66%(12 mpf)than that of the control common carp.Our study demonstrates the first successful production of a monosex teleost population with the advantages of sexual dimorphism in growth using genetic manipulation targeting a single locus. | Gang Zhai Tingting Shu Kuangxin Chen Qiyong Lou Jingyi Jia Jianfei Huang Chuang Shi Xia Jin Jiangyan He Donghuo Jiang Xueqiao Qian Wei Hu Zhan Yin | 2022 | Engineering2022,8,1: | 7 |

| 12 | A Systematic Assessment of Blood Lead Level in Children and Associated Risk Factors in China显示文摘In this study, we searched multiple databases for all relevant original articles (1996-2013). To investigate blood lead levels (BLL) and possible risk factors for lead exposure among children in China A total of 388 articles met our inclusion criteria. The overall geometric mean (GM) BLL was 71 IJ.g/L, and the prevalence of elevated BLL (EBLL, defined as BLL 〉_100 Ixg/L) was l&.4&% among children. The prevalence of EBLL remained significantly higher among boys. In children less than 6 years of age, there were significantly increasing trends in both BLL and prevalence of EBLL in an age-dependent manner. The ban on leaded gasoline significantly reduced the BLL as well as EBLL prevalence; however, children whose parents had lower educational levels or were exposed to lead in the workplace had a higher EBLL prevalence. Despite its decline over time, the average BLL among children in China remains higher than the average level most recently reported in the United States. | 13 | Induction of jasmonic acid biosynthetic genes inhibits Arabidopsis growth in response to low boron显示文摘The essential micronutrient boron(B) has key roles in cell wall integrity and B deficiency inhibits plant growth. The role of jasmonic acid(JA) in plant growth inhibition under B deficiency remains unclear. Here,we report that low B elevates JA biosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana by inducing the expression of JA biosynthesis genes. Treatment with JA inhibited plant growth and, a JA biosynthesis inhibitor enhanced plant growth, indicating that the JA induced by B deficiency affects plant growth. Furthermore,examination of the JA signaling mutants jasmonate resistant1, coronatine insensitive1-2, and myc2 showed that JA signaling negatively regulates plant growth under B deficiency. We identified a low-B responsive transcription factor, ERF018, and used yeast one-hybrid assays and transient activation assays in Nicotiana benthamiana leaf cells to demonstrate that ERF018 activates the expression of JA biosynthesis genes. ERF018 overexpression(OE)lines displayed stunted growth and up-regulation of JA biosynthesis genes under normal B conditions,compared to Col-0 and the difference between ERF018 OE lines and Col-0 diminished under low B.These results suggest that ERF018 enhances JA biosynthesis and thus negatively regulates plant growth. | 14 | Conservative pulp treatment for Oehlers type Ⅲ dens invaginatus: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Diverse presentations of dens invaginatus (DI) and root canal treatment with an immature open apex often pose challenges to dentists. Adequate treatment planning for DI is the main reason for successful approach, i.e., we should consider the shape and depth of the concave folding, the condition of the original pulp, and the growth stage of the root formation. CASE SUMMARY A 9-year-old girl complained of severe pain of the right maxillary incisor (tooth 12) when chewing for two weeks. Following clinical and radiographic examinations, Oehlers type III DI of tooth 12, with an immature open apical foramen and a symptomatic periapical pathosis, was diagnosed. Cone-beam computed tomography verified the specific spatial and stereoscopic data regarding the communication between the main root canal and pseudo root canal of the involved tooth. After removing the source of infection, a mineral trioxide aggregate was selected to fill and seal the pseudo root canal;additionally, pulp capping of the main canal was performed through the interconnections between the root canals in the middle segment to preserve pulp vitality and enable continual root formation and eventual root apex closure. | 15 | PCN-Fe(Ⅲ)-PTX nanoparticles for MRI guided high efficiency chemo-photodynamic therapy in pancreatic cancer through alleviating tumor hypoxia显示文摘As nanomedicine-based clinical strategies have continued to develop,the possibility of combining chemotherapy and singlet oxygen-dependent photodynamic therapy(PDT)to treat pancreatic cancer(PaC)has emerged as a viable therapeutic modality.The efficacy of such an approach,however,is likely to be constrained by the mechanisms of drug release and tumor oxygen levels.In the present study,we developed an Fe(Ⅲ)-complexed porous coordination network(PCN)which we then used to encapsulate PTX(PCN-Fe(Ⅲ)-PTX)nanoparticles(NPs)in order to treat PaC via a combination of chemotherapy and PDT.The resultant NPs were able to release drug in response to both laser irradiation and pH changes to promote drug accumulation within tumors.Furthermore,through a Fe(Ⅲ)-based Fenton-like reaction these NPs were able to convert H2O2 in the tumor site to O2,thereby regulating local hypoxic conditions and enhancing the efficacy of PDT approaches.Also these NPs were suitable for use as a T1-MRI weighted contrast agent,making them viable for monitoring therapeutic efficacy upon treatment.Our results in both cell line and animal models of PaC suggest that these NPs represent an ideal agent for mediating effective MRI-guided chemotherapy-PDT,giving them great promise for the clinical treatment of PaC. | Tao Zhang Zhenqi Jiang Libin Chen Chunshu Pan Shan Sun Chuang Liu Zihou Li Wenzhi Ren Aiguo Wu Pintong Huang | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,1: | 4 |

| 17 | Differences in pathological changes between two rat models of severe traumatic brain injury显示文摘The rat high-impact free weight drop model mimics the diffuse axonal injury caused by severe traumatic brain injury in humans,while severe controlled cortical impact can produce a severe traumatic brain injury model using precise strike parameters.In this study,we compare the pathological mechanisms and pathological changes between two rat severe brain injury models to identify the similarities and differences.The severe controlled cortical impact model was produced by an electronic controlled cortical impact device,while the severe free weight drop model was produced by dropping a 500 g free weight from a height of 1.8 m through a plastic tube.Body temperature and mortality were recorded,and neurological deficits were assessed with the modified neurological severity score.Brain edema and bloodbrain barrier damage were evaluated by assessing brain water content and Evans blue extravasation.In addition,a cytokine array kit was used to detect inflammatory cytokines.Neuronal apoptosis in the brain and brainstem was quantified by immunofluorescence staining.Both the severe controlled cortical impact and severe free weight drop models exhibited significant neurological impairments and body temperature fluctuations.More severe motor dysfunction was observed in the severe controlled cortical impact model,while more severe cognitive dysfunction was observed in the severe free weight drop model.Brain edema,inflammatory cytokine changes and cortical neuronal apoptosis were more substantial and blood-brain barrier damage was more focal in the severe controlled cortical impact group compared with the severe free weight drop group.The severe free weight drop model presented with more significant apoptosis in the brainstem and diffused blood-brain barrier damage,with higher mortality and lower repeatability compared with the severe controlled cortical impact group.Severe brainstem damage was not found in the severe controlled cortical impact model.These results indicate that the severe controlled cortical impact model is relatively more stable,more reproducible,and shows obvious cerebral pathological changes at an earlier stage.Therefore,the severe controlled cortical impact model is likely more suitable for studies on severe focal traumatic brain injury,while the severe free weight drop model may be more apt for studies on diffuse axonal injury.All experimental procedures were approved by the Ethics Committee of Animal Experiments of Tianjin Medical University,China(approval No.IRB2012-028-02)in Febru ary 2012. | Yi-Ming Song Yu Qian Wan-Qiang Su Xuan-Hui Liu Jin-Hao Huang Zhi-Tao Gong Hong-Liang Luo Chuang Gao Rong-Cai Jiang | 2019 | Neural Regeneration Research2019,14,10: | 4 |
