1Mechanism-based anti-anxiety effects of polysaccharides extracted from Shudihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata) by two-dimensional electrophoresis analysis in rat hippocampus proteins显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate mechanism-based anti-anxiety effects of Shudihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata) polysaccharides (RRPPs) through two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) analysis with mass spectrometry (MS) of hippocampus proteins in rats treated with monosodium L-glutamate (MSG).METHODS: MSG (4 g/kg) or normal saline (NS) was injected subcutaneously into infant male rats on days 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 after birth. MSG-treated rats at 8 weeks old were given NS, diazepam, or RRPPs daily for seven consecutive days by intragastric administration, while NS-treated rats given the same volume of NS. Elevated plus maze (EPM) and light/ dark transition (LDT) tests were used to observe anti-anxiety effects of RRPPs at 1 h after the last administration. After EPM and LDT tests, hippocampus tissues were excised on ice rapidly from the brains of rats. Thereafter, 2-DE and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF/MS) were used for detecting differential proteins in hippocampus of rats so as to explore the potential mechanisms. RESULTS: RRPPs (200, 400 mg/kg) could significantly inhibit MSG-induced decrease of time and entries percentages in open zones in EPM test and numbers of light-dark transition in LDT test. Further analysis of 2-DE and MALDI-TOF/MS indicated that β-synuclein, protein DJ-1, peroxiredoxin-2, peroxiredoxin-6, dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase 1 (DDAH-1) and iron-sulfur proteins were all found to be down-regulated significantly in MSG-treated rats, while such down-regulation was significantly inhibited after treatment with RRPPs. 2Nanopore-based Fourth-generation DNA Sequencing Technology显示文摘Nanopore-based sequencers, as the fourth-generation DNA sequencing technology, have the potential to quickly and reliably sequence the entire human genome for less than $1000, and possibly for even less than $100. 4Rush-hour aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons in selected subway stations of Shanghai,China显示文摘Air samples were collected simultaneously at platform,mezzanine and outdoor in five typical stations of subway system in Shanghai,China using stainless steel canisters and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass selective detector (GC-MSD) after cryogenic pre-concentration.Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) at the platforms and mezzanines inside the stations averaged (10.3±2.1),(38.7±9.0),(19.4±10.1) and (30.0±11.1) μg/m 3,respectively;while trichloroethylene (TrCE),tetrachloroethylene (TeCE) and para-dichlorobenzene (pDCB),vinyl chloride and carbon tetrachloride were the most abundant chlorinated hydrocarbons inside the stations with average levels of (3.6±1.3),(1.3±0.5),(4.1±1.1),(2.2±1.1) and (1.2±0.3) μg/m 3,respectively.Mean levels of major aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons were higher indoor (platforms and mezzanines) than outdoor with average indoor/outdoor (I/O) ratios of 1.1-9.5,whereas no significant indoor/outdoor differences were found except for benzene and TrCE.The highly significant mutual correlations (p<0.01) for BTEX between indoor and outdoor and their significant correlation (p<0.05) with methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE),a marker of traffic-related emission without other indoor and outdoor sources,indicated that BTEX were introduced into the subway stations from indoor/outdoor air exchange and traffic emission should be their dominant source.TrCE and pDCB were mainly from indoor emission and TeCE might have both indoor emission sources and contribution from outdoor air,especially in the mezzanines.Yanli Zhang Chunlei Li Xinming Wang Hai Guo Yanli Feng Jianmin Chen 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,1:6

6A Comparative Study on Hydrodynamic Performance of Double Deflector Rectangular Cambered Otter Board显示文摘In the present work,the hydrodynamic performance of the double deflector rectangular cambered otter board was studied using wind tunnel experiment,flume tank experiment and numerical simulation.Results showed that the otter board had a good hydrodynamic performance with the maximum lift-to-drag ratio(K_(MAX) = 3.70).The flow separation occurred when the angle of attack(AOA) was at 45?,which revealed that the double deflector structure of the otter board can delay the flow separation.Numerical simulation results showed a good agreement with experiment ones,and could predict the critical AOA,which showed that it can be used to study the hydrodynamic performance of the otter board with the advantage of flow visualization.However,the drag coefficient in flume tank was much higher than that in wind tunnel,which resulted in a lower lift-to-drag ratio.These may be due to different fluid media between flume tank and wind tunnel,which result in the big difference of the vortexes around the otter board.Given the otter boards are operated in water,it was suggested to apply both flume tank experiment and numerical simulation to study the hydrodynamic performance of otter board.XU Qingchang FENG Chunlei HUANG Liuyi XU Jiqiang WANG Lei ZHANG Xun LIANG Zhenlin TANG Yanli ZHAO Fenfang WANG Xinxin 2018Journal of Ocean University of China2018,17,5:5
7Estimation of Age,Growth and Maturation of Purpleback Flying Squid,Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis,in Bashi Channel,Central Pacific Ocean显示文摘The age, growth and maturation of Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis were determined with statolith data collected with a light purse seine from the Bashi Channel of central Pacific Ocean. The estimated longevity of the squid was no more than 6 months for females, and no more than 5 months for males. Growth in mantle length(ML) was best described by logistic models for both females and males, while growth in body weight(BW) was best fitted by power curves. The maximum absolute growth rate(AGR) and instantaneous growth rate(IGR) in ML or BW both occurred at 91–105 days for females and 76–90 days for males. Back calculated hatching dates were from October to January, with a peak in December, although the short duration of sampling date might have had an influence on the result. The lower percentage of mature females(37.2%) suggested that the study area during the sampling date was not a spawning ground for the species. 8Nanoparticle-free and self-healing amphiphobic membrane for anti-surfactant-wetting membrane distillation显示文摘In membrane distillation(MD),complicated feed water with amphiphilic contaminants induces fouling/wetting of the MD membrane and can even lead to process failure.This study reports a facile approach to fabricate robust and self-healing hybrid amphiphobic membranes for anti-surfactant-wetting MD based on the ultra-low surface energy of fluorinated polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes(F-POSS)and its thermal induced motivation and rotation.The thermal treatment makes the membranes achieving amphiphobicity at a very low cost of F-POSS(13.04 wt.%),which is about 1/3 of without thermal treatment.The prepared membrane exhibits excellent amphiphobicity,i.e.ethanol contact angle of 120.3°,without using environmentally toxic fluorinated nanoparticles.Robust MD performance was observed for the amphiphobic membrane in concentrated sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)feed solutions.Furthermore,the fabricated membrane exhibited stable amphiphobicity even in extreme environments,including strong acid or alkaline solutions.In the event of a damaged or abraded membrane surface where the F-POSS can be removed,the amphiphobic membrane exhibits self-healing ability with additional thermal treatment.This simple approach without the use of nanoparticles provides an environmentally friendly way for fabrication of amphiphobic membranes for anti-surfactant-wetting membrane distillation.Chun Lu Chunlei Su Hongbin Cao Thomas Horseman Feng Duan Yuping Li 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2:3
9Micromechanics behavior of fatigue cracks in Hadfield steel railway crossing显示文摘In order to predict the mechanism of the formation and propagation of rolling contact fatigue cracks in Hadfield steel railway crossings(HSRC),the residual strain,microstructure,crystal orientation,and microhardness surrounding fatigue cracks were investigated.Results show that the formation and propagation of fatigue cracks in HSRC have no correlation with the crystal orientation and boundaries of grains.The hardness and residual strain in the field around the fatigue crack are lower than those in other regions.The compressive strain around the fatigue crack is released after crack propagates,which reduces the hardness around the fatigue crack.Deformation twins and dislocations play a key role in the work hardening of HSRC.FENG XiaoYong ZHANG FuCheng ZHENG ChunLei L Bo 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,5:1
10A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires,there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. 14Geographical distribution and age composition of Euphausia superba larvae (Crustacea: Euphausiacea) in the South Shetland Islands region and southern Scotia Sea in relation to environmental conditions显示文摘Spatial distribution patterns of the different life stages of Euphausia superba in the region of the South Shetland Islands and southern Scotia Sea(Antarctica)were assessed based on scientific survey data collected in January and February of 2010.Adults,eggs,nauplii,metanauplii,calyptopis I–III,and furcilia I–II were found in the investigation.The abundance of larvae averaged 1 172.8 ind./m2,with calyptopis I and II as the dominant stages.Habitat occupancy patterns varied among Euphausia superba at different stages,and three sub-regions were identified by cluster analysis.The degree of larval development increased from west to east.Larvae were not observed north of the South Shetland Islands.Calyptopis I was predominant in the water between Elephant Island and the South Orkney Islands,which featured no thermocline.Older stages,including calyptopis II and III and furcilia I and II,were common in north and northeast of the South Orkney Islands,which were characterized by high temperature and high chlorophyll concentration.Distribution and abundance of the early life stages of E.superba were associated with specific environmental conditions.According to Biota–Environment matching(BIOENV),the distributions of E.superba larvae were correlated with a combination of temperature at the surface and 200 m,and 0–100 m integrated chlorophyll a concentration.GAO Qian XU Zhaoli HUANG Hongliang CHEN Xuezhong FENG Chunlei LI Lingzhi 2013Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,11:1
15Effects of pre-aging on microstructure evolution and deformation mechanisms of hot extruded Mg–6Zn–1Gd–1Er Mg alloys显示文摘The influence of pre-aging treatment on the microstructure,texture and mechanical properties of the Mg–6Zn–1Gd–1Er(wt.%)alloy was investigated.The microstructure analysis shows that the presence of pre-aging is beneficial to{1012}twin nucleation at the early stage of extrusion and inhibits the growth of twins and promotes the formation of[1010]-fiber texture components,thus accelerating the complex process of recrystallization.In the middle stage of extrusion,the extruded samples under the condition of solid solution were subjected to dynamic precipitation during severe shear deformation.The precipitation of the second phase particles followed the particle stimulating nucleation(PSN)mechanism,which increased the volume fraction of DRX grains during extrusion.In the extruded samples under the peak-aged condition,the particles appear dissolved during the severe shear deformation strain,which slows down the DRX process.In the later stage of extrusion,the small rod-shaped particles followed the PSN mechanism,and finally formed the strong fiber texture.The extruded alloy exhibits the strongest mechanical properties under the peak-aged state,with ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of 346 MPa,tensile yield strength(TYS)of 217 MPa,and elongation to failure(EL)of 13.6%.The improvement of mechanical properties is mainly attributed to the existence of strong fiber texture,small rod-shaped and block-shaped phases.Wei Kang Liwei Lu Longbiao Feng Fengchi Lu Chunlei Gan Xiaohui Li 2023Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2023,11,1:1
163D S-wave velocity structure of the Ningdu basin in Jiangxi province inferred from ambient noise tomography with dense array显示文摘The Ningdu basin,located in southern Jiangxi province of southwest China,is one of the Mesozoic basin groups which has exploration prospects for geothermal energy.A study on the detailed velocity structure of the Ningdu basin can provide important information for geothermal resource exploration.In this study,we deployed a dense seismic array in the Ningdu basin to investigate the 3D velocity structure and discuss implications for geothermal exploration and geological evolution.Based on the dense seismic array including 35 short-period(5 s-100 Hz)seismometers with an average interstation distance of~5 km,Rayleigh surface wave dispersion curves were extracted from the continuous ambient noise data for surface wave tomographic inversion.Group velocity tomography was conducted and the 3D S-wave velocity structure was inverted by the neighborhood algorithm.The results revealed obvious low-velocity anomalies in the center of the basin,consistent with the low-velocity Cretaceous sedimentary rocks.The basement and basin-controlling fault can also be depicted by the S-wave velocity anomalies.The obvious seismic interface is about 2 km depth in the basin center and decreases to 700 m depth near the basin boundary,suggesting spatial thickness variations of the Cretaceous sediment.The fault features of the S-wave velocity profile coincide with the geological cognition of the western boundary basincontrolling fault,which may provide possible upwelling channels for geothermal fluid.This study suggests that seismic tomography with a dense array is an effective method and can play an important role in the detailed investigations of sedimentary basins.Long Teng Xiangteng Wang Chunlei Fu Feng Bao Jiajun Chong Sidao Ni Zhiwei Li 2023Earthquake Research Advances2023,3,1:0
17In-situ synthesis of gadolinium niobate quasi-binary composites with balanced mechanical and thermal properties for thermal barrier coatings显示文摘Yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ)has been used as a thermal barrier coating(TBC)material in gas turbines for several decades.Although continuous efforts have been made to develop novel TBC materials that can work at a higher temperature,no single material other than YSZ has all the desired attributes for the TBCs.In this paper,we report the in-situ synthesis of quasi-binary GdNbO_(4)/Gd_(3)NbO_(7)composites based on the simple Gd_(2)O_(3)-Nb_(2)O_(5)binary phase diagram.The fracture toughness of these quasi-binary composites is remarkably enhanced compared with the value predicted by the rule of mixtures because the ferroelastic domain switching is more activated due to the residual stress in the quasi-binary composites,which triggers more crack defections due to the enlarged process zone.Additionally,the Gd_(3)NbO_(7)phase provides a low thermal conductivity due to the substantial chemical inhomogeneity,which diffuses phonons.Gd_(3)NbO_(7)/GdNbO_(4)exhibits a balanced thermal conductivity of 1.6 W/(m·K)at 1073 K and a toughness value of 2.76 MPa·m0.5,and these values are among the best comprehensive properties that have been obtained for new TBC materials.The work demonstrates a feasible approach of designing a new TBC material with balanced properties and can be easily fabricated.Yi HAN Peng-an ZONG Muzhang HUANG Zesheng YANG Yingjie FENG Wei PAN Peng ZHANG Chunlei WAN 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,9:0
18Characterization of the Gastric Mucosal Microbiota in Patients with Liver Cirrhosis and Its Associations with Gastrointestinal Symptoms显示文摘Several studies have indicated that the oral and gut microbiota may exhibit differences in patients with cirrhosis.Less is known about the microbiota in the stomach,which is located between the oral cavity and the intestinal tract.In this study,the gastric mucosal microbiota of patients with liver cirrhosis and controls were analyzed with 16S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)pyrosequencing.Cirrhotic patients had significantly lower Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection rates,as confirmed by both the histological method and the pyrosequencing method.In H.pylori-negative subjects,gastric bacterial communities of healthy and cirrhosis cohorts were clustered into four clusters based on bacterial compositions:Cluster_1 and Cluster_2(mostly cirrhosis),Cluster_3(mostly healthy),and Cluster_4(around half of each).Compositional and functional differences were observed among these different clusters.At the genus level,Cluster_1 and Cluster_2 showed enrichment of Neisseria and Streptococcus,respectively.Functionally,Cluster_2 was characterized as depleted of genetic information processing,as well as of modules related to glycan biosynthesis and metabolism.Patients in Cluster_2 had more severe gastrointestinal symptoms and a higher rate of previous endoscopic variceal ligation(EVL)therapy than patients in other clusters.Our findings suggest that the colonization of both H.pylori and non-H.pylori is influenced in liver cirrhosis.Although the H.pylori-negative gastric mucosal microbiota showed considerable heterogeneity,associations between specific gastric microbiota and clinical characteristics could be observed.Previous EVL therapy might lead to a distinct structure of the gastric mucosal microbiota,thus aggravating the gastrointestinal symptoms in H.pylori-negative cirrhotic patients.Yanfei Chen Jing Guo Chunlei Chen Ding Shi Daiqiong Fang Feng Ji Lanjuan Li 2021Engineering2021,7,4:0
