Effects of applying lactic acid bacteria to the fermentation on a mixture of corn steep liquor and air-dried rice straw显示文摘This study was to determine the fermentation quality of a mixture of corn steep liquor(CSL)(178 g/kg wet basis) and air-dried rice straw(356 g/kg wet basis) after being treated with inoculants of different types of lactic acid bacteria(LAB). The treatments included the addition of no LAB additive(control),which was deionized water; homo-fermentative LAB alone(^(ho)LAB), which was Lactobacillus plantarum alone), and a mixture of homo-fermentative and hetero-fermentative LAB(^(he+ho)LAB), which were L. plantarum, Lactobacillus casei, and Lactobacillus buchneri. The results showed that the inoculation of the mixture of CSL and air-dried rice straw with ^(he+ho)LAB significantly increased the concentration of acetic acid and lactic acid compared with the control(P < 0.05). The addition of ^(he+ho)LAB effectively inhibited the growth of yeast in the silage. The concentration of total lactic acid bacteria in the ^(he+ho)LAB-treated silage was significant higher than those obtained in other groups(P < 0.05). The duration of the aerobic stability of the silages increased from 56 h to >372 h. The control group was the first to spoil, whereas the silage treated with ^(he+ho)LAB remained stable throughout the 372 h period of monitoring. The results demonstrated that the ^(he+ho)LAB could effectively improve the fermentation quality and aerobic stability of the silage.Xinxin Li Wenbin Xu Jinshan Yang Hongbo Zhao Chunfang Pan Xue Ding Yonggen Zhang 2016Animal Nutrition2016,,3:17
Additive manufacturing of hydroxyapatite bioceramic scaffolds: Dispersion, digital light processing, sintering, mechanical properties, and biocompatibility显示文摘Hydroxyapatite(HA)bioceramic scaffolds were fabricated by using digital light processing(DLP)based additive manufacturing.Key issues on the HA bioceramic scaffolds, including dispersion,DLP fabrication, sintering, mechanical properties, and biocompatibility were discussed in detail.Firstly, the ffects of dispersant dosage, solid loading, and sintering temperature were studied. The optimal dispersant dosage, solid loading, and sintering temperature were 2wt%,50vol%,and 1250℃,respectively.Then,the mechanical properties and biocompatibility of the HA bioceramic scaffolds were investigated. The DLP-prepared porous HA bioceramic scaffold was found to exhibit excellent mechanical properties and degradation behavior. From this study,DLP technique shows good potential for manufacturing HA bioceramic scaffolds.Chengwei FENG Keqiang ZHANG Rujie HE Guojiao DING Min XIA Xinxin JIN Chen XIE 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,3:12
Comparative investigation on high-speed grinding of TiCp/Ti–6Al–4V particulate reinforced titanium matrix composites with single-layer electroplated and brazed CBN wheels显示文摘In order to develop the high-efficiency and precision machining technique of Ti Cp/Ti–6Al–4V particulate reinforced titanium matrix composites(PTMCs), high-speed grinding experiments were conducted using the single-layer electroplated cubic boron nitride(CBN) wheel and brazed CBN wheel, respectively. The comparative grinding performance was studied in terms of grinding force, grinding temperature, grinding-induced surface features and defects. The results display that the grinding forces and grinding temperature obtained with the brazed CBN wheel are always lower than those with the electroplated CBN wheel. Though the voids and microcracks are the dominant grinding-induced surface defects, the brazed CBN wheel produces less surface defects compared to the electroplated wheel according to the statistical analysis results. The maximum materials removal rate with the brazed CBN wheel is much higher than that with the electroplated one. All above indicate that the single-layer brazed CBN super-abrasive wheel is more suitable for high-speed grinding of PTMCs than the electroplated counterpart.Li Zheng Ding Wenfeng Shen Long Xi Xinxin Fu Yucan 2016Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2016,29,5:11
An update on the role of intestinal cytochrome P450 enzymes in drug disposition显示文摘Oral administration is the most commonly used route for drug treatment.Intestinal cytochrome P450(CYP)-mediated metabolism can eliminate a large proportion of some orally administered drugs before they reach systemic circulation, while leaving the passage of other drugs unimpeded.A better understanding of the ability of intestinal P450 enzymes to metabolize various clinical drugs in both humans and preclinical animal species, including the identification of the CYP enzymes expressed, their regulation, and the relative importance of intestinal metabolism compared to hepatic metabolism,is important for improving bioavailability of current drugs and new drugs in development. Here,we briefly review the expression of drug-metabolizing P450 enzymes in the small intestine of humans and several preclinical animal species, and provide an update of the various factors or events that regulate intestinal P450 expression, including a cross talk between the liver and the intestine. We further compare various clinical and preclinical approaches for assessing the impact of intestinal drug metabolism on bioavailability, and discuss the utility of the intestinal epithelium–specific NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductasenull(IECN) mouse as a useful model for studying in vivo roles of intestinal P450 in the disposition of orally administered drugs.Fang Xie Xinxin Ding Qing-Yu Zhang 2016Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2016,6,5:10
Defined tumor antigen-specific T cells potentiate personalized TCR-T cell therapy and prediction of immunotherapy response显示文摘Personalized immunotherapy targeting tumor-specific antigens(TSAs)could generate efficient and safe antitumor immune response without damaging normal tissues.Although neoantigen vaccines have shown therapeutic effect in clinic trials, precise prediction of neoantigens from tumor mutations is still challenging. The host antitumor immune response selects and activates T cells recognizing tumor antigens.Hence,T cells engineered with T-cell receptors(TCRs)from these naturally occurring tumor antigen-specific T(Tas)cells in a patient will target personal TSAs in his/her tumor. To establish such a personalized TCR-T cell therapy,we comprehensively characterized T cells in tumor and its adjacent tissues by single-cell mRNA sequencing(scRNA-seq),TCR sequencing(TCR-seq)and in vitro neoantigen stimulation.Compared to bystander T cells circulating among tissues,Tas cells were characterized by tumor enrichment,tumor-specific clonal expansion and neoantigen specificity. We found that CXCL13 is a unique marker for both CD4^(+)and CD8^(+)Tas cells.Importantly,TCR-T cells expressing TCRs from Tas cells showed significant therapeutic effects on autologous patient-derived xenograft(PDX)tumors.Intratumoral Tas cell levels measured by CXCL13 expression precisely predicted the response to immune checkpoint blockade, indicating a critical role of Tas cells in the antitumor immunity. We further identified CD200 and ENTPD1 as surface markers for CD4^(^(+))and CD8^(^(+))Tas cells respectively, which enabled the isolation of Tas cells from tumor by Fluorescence Activating Cell Sorter(FACS)sorting.Overall, our results suggest that TCR-T cells engineered with Tas TCRs are a promising agent for personalized immunotherapy, and intratumoral Tas cell levels determine the response to immunotherapy.Jingjing He Xinxin Xiong Han Yang Dandan Li Xuefei Liu Shuo Li Shuangye Liao Siyu Chen Xizhi Wen Kuai Yu Lingyi Fu Xingjun Dong Kaiyu Zhu Xiaojun Xia Tiebang Kang Chaochao Bian Xiang Li Haiping Liu Peirong Ding Xiaoshi Zhang Zhenjiang Liu Wende Li Zhixiang Zuo Penghui Zhou 2022Cell Research2022,32,6:10
Micro/nano-structured TiO2 surface with dual-functional antibacterial effects for biomedical applications显示文摘Implant-associated infections are generally difficult to cure owing to the bacterial antibiotic resistance which is attributed to the widespread usage of antibiotics.Given the global threat and increasing influence of antibiotic resistance, there is an urgent demand to explore novel antibacterial strategies other than using antibiotics.Recently, using a certain surface topography to provide a more persistent antibacterial solution attracts more and more attention. However, the clinical application of biomimetic nano-pillar array is not satisfactory, mainly because its antibacterial ability against Gram-positive strain is not good enough. Thus, the pillar array should be equipped with other antibacterial agents to fulfill the bacteriostatic and bactericidal requirements of clinical application. Here,we designed a novel model substrate which was a combination of periodic micro/nano-pillar array and TiO2 for basically understanding the topographical bacteriostatic effects of periodic micro/nano-pillar array and the photocatalytic bactericidal activity of TiO2.Such innovation may potentially exert the synergistic effects by integrating the persistent topographical antibacterial activity and the non-invasive X-ray induced photocatalytic antibacterial property of TiO2 to combat against antibiotic-resistant implant-associated infections.First,to separately verify the topographical antibacterial activity of TiO2 periodic micro/nano-pillar array,we systematically investigated its effects on bacterial adhesion, growth, proliferation, and viability in the dark without involving the photocatalysis of TiO2.The pillar array with sub-micron motif size can significantly inhibit the adhesion, growth, and proliferation of Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)and Escherichia coli(E.coli).Such antibacterial ability is mainly attributed to a spatial confinement size-effect and limited contact area availability generated by the special topography of pillar array. Moreover, the pillar array is not lethal to S.aureus and E.coli in 24 h.Then, the X-ray induced photocatalytic antibacterial property of TiO2 periodic micro/nano-pillar array in vitro and in vivo will be systematically studied in a future work. This study could shed light on the direction of surface topography design for future medical implants to combat against antibiotic-resistant implant-associated infections without using antibiotics.Xiang Ge Chengzu Ren Yonghui Ding Guang Chen Xiong Lu Kefeng Wang Fuzeng Ren Meng Yang Zhuochen Wang Junlan Li Xinxin An Bao Qian Yang Leng 2019Bioactive Materials2019,4,1:8
A high-sensitivity H2S gas sensor based on optimized ZnO-ZnS nano-heterojunction sensing material显示文摘This paper reports a high-performance H2S gas sensing material that is made of ZnO nanowires(NWs)modified by an optimal amount of ZnS to form nano-hete rojunctions.Compared with the intrinsic ZnONWs,the three differently modified nano-heterostructure material ZnO-ZnS-x(x=5,10,15)shows significant improvement in sensing performance to H2S at the working temperatures of 100-400℃,especially in the low temperature range(<300℃).The chemiresistive sensor with ZnO-ZnS-10 sensingmaterial exhibits the largest response signal to H2S among all the other ZnO-ZnS-x(x=5,10,15,20)sensors.Its response signal to 5 ppm H2S at 150℃is about 2.7 times to that of the ZnO-NWs sensor.Besides, the ZnO-ZnS-10 sensor also features satisfactory selectivity and repeatability at 150℃.With the technical advantage attributed to the reduction of the redesigned band gap at the interface between ZnO and ZnS,the ZnO-ZnS hete ro structure sensor rather than the traditional ZnO-NWs sensor can be used for high-sensitivity application at low working temperature.Pei Ding Dongsheng Xu Nan Dong Ying Chen Pengcheng Xu Dan Zheng Xinxin Li 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,8:5
NIR light-induced tumor phototherapy using ICG delivery system based on platelet-membrane-camouflaged hollow bismuth selenide nanoparticles显示文摘Near-infrared(NIR)light-triggered photothermal therapy(PTT)is a promising treatment strategy for treating cancer. The combination of nanotechnology and NIR has been widely applied. However, the therapeutic efficacy of the drug-delivery system depends on their ability to avoid phagocytosis of endothelial system, cross the biological barriers, prolong circulation life, localize and rapidly release the therapeutic at target sites. In this work,we designed a platelet membrane(PM)-camouflaged hollow mesoporous bismuth selenide nanoparticles(BS NPs)loading with indocyanine green(ICG)(PM@BS-ICG NPs)to achieve the above advantages.PM-coating has active tumor-targe ting ability which could preve nt drug leakage and provide drug long circulation, causing drug delivery systems to accumulate in tumor sites effectively. Moreover,as a type of the photothermal sensitizers,BS NPs are used as the inner cores to improve ICG stability and are served as scaffolds to enhance the hardness of this drug delivery system. For one hand, the thermal vibration of BS NPs under NIR laser irradiation causes tumor inhibition through hyperthermia. For another hand, this hyperthermia process could damage PM and let ICG rapid release from PM@BS-ICG NPs.The in vitro and in vivo results showed that this biomimetic nano-drug delivery system exhibits obvious antitumor activity which has good application prospect.Kaili Ding Cuixia Zheng Lingling Sun Xinxin Liu Yanyan Yin Lei Wang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:5
Performance evaluation of creep feed grinding ofγ-TiAl intermetallics with electroplated diamond wheels显示文摘This paper evaluates the performance of creep feed grindingγ-TiAl intermetallic(Ti-45 Al-2 Mn-2 Nb)using electroplated diamond wheels.Firstly,a comparative analysis with the grinding results by using electroplated CBN wheels was conducted, mainly involving abrasive wheel wear behavior and maximum material removal rate below surface burn limit. It was found that the diamond wheel would produce much better grinding results including lower wheel wear rate and higher maximum material removal rate. Then the surface integrity obtained at different level of material removal rate was characterized with the utilization of the diamond wheel. The poor ductility of thisγ-TiAl intermetallic material was found to have a marginal effect on the surface integrity,as no severe surface defects such as material pullout were generated during the stable wheel wear stage. For the involved operating parameters,a deformation layer was produced with~10μm or more in thickness depending on the material removal rate used.Meanwhile,a work-hardened layer extending to more than 100μm was produced with a maximum microhardness of above 520 HV0.05(bulk value 360 HV0.05).The residual stress remained compressive, with a value of above-100 MPa and even up to-500 MPa for an elevated material removal rate.Shearing chip was the main chip type, indicating good wheel sharpness in the grinding process.Xinxin XI Wenfeng DING Zhixin WU Lama ANGGEI 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,6:5
Novel application of bergapten and quercetin with anti-bacterial,osteogenesis-potentiating,and anti-inflammation tri-effects显示文摘The bacteria-mediated inflammatory conditions adversely affect the osseointegration process of endosseous implants, which can even lead to implant malfunction or failure.Local drug delivery has been designed to exert anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities, but whether this strategy has an effect on the compromised osseointegration under inflammation has rarely been studied. The present study focused on the osteoinductive efficacy of two known phytoestrogens[bergapten(BP)and quercetin(QE)]on implant sites under multiple bacteria-infected conditions in situ.Furthermore, the gene expression profiles of rat bone mesenchymal stem cells(rBMSCs)treated with BP and QE in the presence of Porphyromonas gingivalis-derived lipopolysaccharide were identified. The results showed that both drugs, especially QE,had significant potentiating effects on promoting osteogenic differentiation of rBMSCs,resisting multiple pathogens, and reducing inflammatory activity.Meanwhile,RNA sequencing analysis highlighted the enriched gene ontology terms and the differentially expressed genes(Vps25,Il1r2,Csf3,Efemp1,and Ccl20)that might play essential roles in regulating the above tri-effects,which provided the basis for the drug delivery system to be used as a novel therapeutic strategy for integrating peri-implant health.Overall, our study confirmed that QE appeared to outperform BP in osteogenesis and bacterial killing but not in anti-inflammation.Moreover,both drugs possess favorable tri-effects and can serve as the pivotal agents for the drug delivery system to boost osseointegration at inflammatory implant sites.Jianxu Wei Xiaomeng Zhang Yuan Li Xinxin Ding Yi Zhang Xue Jiang Hongchang Lai Junyu Shi 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,6:4
Influence of the NAO on Wintertime Surface Air Temperature over East Asia:Multidecadal Variability and Decadal Prediction显示文摘In this paper,we investigate the influence of the winter NAO on the multidecadal variability of winter East Asian surface air temperature(EASAT)and EASAT decadal prediction. The observational analysis shows that the winter EASAT and East Asian minimum SAT(EAmSAT)display strong in-phase fluctuations and a significant 60-80-year multidecadal variability, apart from a long-term warming trend. The winter EASAT experienced a decreasing trend in the last two decades, which is consistent with the occurrence of extremely cold events in East Asia winters in recent years. The winter NAO leads the detrended winter EASAT by 12-18 years with the greatest significant positive correlation at the lead time of 15 years.Further analysis shows that ENSO may affect winter EASAT interannual variability, but does not affect the robust lead relationship between the winter NAO and EASAT.We present the coupled oceanic-atmospheric bridge(COAB)mechanism of the NAO influences on winter EASAT multidecadal variability through its accumulated delayed effect of~15 years on the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation(AMO)and Africa-Asia multidecadal teleconnection(AAMT)pattern. An NAO-based linear model for predicting winter decadal EASAT is constructed on the principle of the COAB mechanism, with good hindcast performance. The winter EASAT for 2020-34 is predicted to keep on fluctuating downward until~2025,implying a high probability of occurrence of extremely cold events in coming winters in East Asia, followed by a sudden turn towards sharp warming. The predicted 2020/21 winter EASAT is almost the same as the 2019/20 winter.Jianping LI Tiejun XIE Xinxin TANG Hao WANG Cheng SUN Juan FENG Fei ZHENG Ruiqiang DING 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,4:4
Early assessment of the safety and immunogenicity of a third dose(booster)of COVID-19 immunization in Chinese adults显示文摘Inducing durable and effective immunity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)via vaccination is essential to combat the current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).It has been noticed that the strength of anti-COVID-19 vaccination-induced immunity fades over time, which calls for an additional vaccination regime,as known as booster immunization,to restore immunity among previously vaccinated populations. Here we report a pilot open-label trial of a third dose of BBIBP-CorV,an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine(Vero cell),on 136 participants aged between 18 to 63 years.Safety and immunogenicity in terms of neutralizing antibody titers and cytokine/chemokine responses were analyzed as the main endpoint until day 28.While systemic reactogenicity was either absent or mild,SARS-CoV-2-specific neutralizing antibody titers rapidly arose in all participants within 4 weeks, surpassing the peak antibody titers elicited by the initial two-dose immunization regime.Broad increases of cellular immunity-associated cytokines and chemokines were also detected in the majority of participants after the third vaccination.Furthermore,in an exploratory study,a newly developed recombinant protein vaccine,NVSI-06-08(CHO Cells),was found to be safe and even more effective than BBIBP-CorV in eliciting humoral immune responses in BBIBP-CorV-primed individuals.Together, these results indicate that a third immunization schedule with either homologous or heterologous vaccine showed favorable safety profiles and restored potent SARS-CoV-2-specific immunity, providing support for further trials of booster vaccination in larger populations.Yuntao Zhang Yunkai Yang Niu Qiao Xuewei Wang Ling Ding Xiujuan Zhu Yu Liang Zibo Han Feng Liu Xinxin Zhang Xiaoming Yang 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,1:3
Synchronous drying and cooling in central Asia duringlate Oligocene显示文摘Aridification of central Asia during late Oligocene and Early Miocene has been documented by numerous eolian records from the North Pacific and central Asia. However, direct evidence of aridity from the interior of the arid zone is still rather scarce. To better reconstruct the climate history in central Asia during the late Oligocene, we have analyzed ostracod assemblages and gypsum content in the sediments from the lacustrine Jingou River section in the northern Tianshan Mountains. Our results show that the cold water species Candona cf. Neglecta and Pseudocandona albicans replaced the warm water species Ilyocypris bradyi and Ilyocypris sp. to become the dominant species at 23.8 Ma, indicating significant cooling in central Asia at that time. At the same time, a substantial increase in gypsum content indicates the intensification of central Asian drying. The synchronous cooling and drying approximately coincided with the Oi2b.1 and/or Mi1 events, implying a causal linkage between late Oligocene global cooling and central Asian aridity.DONG XinXin DING ZhongLi YANG ShiLing LUO Pan WANG Xu JI JunLiang 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,25:3
Preferential expression of cytochrome CYP CYP2R1 but not CYP1B1 in human cord blood hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells显示文摘Cytochrome P450(CYP)enzymes metabolize numerous endogenous substrates, such as retinoids, androgens, estrogens and vitamin D,that can modulate important cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. The aim of this study is to characterize the expression of CYP genes in CD34+human cord blood hematopoietic stem and early progenitor cells(CBHSPCs)as a first step toward assessment of the potential biological functions of CYP enzymes in regulating the expansion or differentiation of these cells.CD34+CBHSPCs were purified from umbilical cord blood via antibody affinity chromatography.Purity of CD34+CBHSPCs was assessed using fluorescence-activated cell sorting.RNA was isolated from purified CD34+CBHSPCs and total mononuclear cells(MNCs)for RNA-PCR analysis of CYP expression.Fourteen human CYPs were detected in the initial screening with qualitative RT-PCR in CD34+CBHSPCs.Further quantitative RNA-PCR analysis of the detected CYP transcripts yielded evidence for preferential expression of CYP2R1 in CD34+CBHSPCs relative to MNCs;and for greater expression of CYP1B1 in MNCs relative to CD34+CBHSPCs.These findings provide the basis for further studies on possible functions of CYP2R1 and CYP1B1 in CBHSPCs'proliferation and/or differentiation and their potential utility as targets for drugs designed to modulate CD34+CBHSPC expansion or differentiation.Shuoqi Xu Zhihua Ren Yanan Wang Xinxin Ding Yongping Jiang 2014Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,6:2

Recent Advances of Transition Metal Basic Salts for Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution Reaction and Overall Water Electrolysis显示文摘Electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction(OER)has been recognized as the bottleneck of overall water splitting, which is a promising approach for sustainable production of H_(2).Transition metal(TM)hydroxides are the most conventional and classical non-noble metal-based electrocatalysts for OER,while TM basic salts[M^(2+)(OH)_(2-x)(A_(m^(-))_(x/m),A=CO_(3)^(2−),NO_(3)^(−),F^(−),Cl^(−)]consisting of OH−and another anion have drawn extensive research interest due to its higher catalytic activity in the past decade. In this review,we summarize the recent advances of TM basic salts and their application in OER and further overall water splitting. We categorize TM basic salt-based OER pre-catalysts into four types(CO_(3)^(2−),NO_(3)^(−),F^(−),Cl^(−)according to the anion, which is a key factor for their outstanding performance towards OER.We highlight experimental and theoretical methods for understanding the structure evolution during OER and the effect of anion on catalytic performance. To develop bifunctional TM basic salts as catalyst for the practical electrolysis application,we also review the present strategies for enhancing its hydrogen evolution reaction activity and thereby improving its overall water splitting performance. Finally,we conclude this review with a summary and perspective about the remaining challenges and future opportunities of TM basic salts as catalysts for water electrolysis.Bingrong Guo Yani Ding Haohao Huo Xinxin Wen Xiaoqian Ren Ping Xu Siwei Li 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,4:2
