1Chinese Stroke Association guidelines for clinical management of cerebrovascular disorders: executive summary and 2019 update of clinical management of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis显示文摘Aim Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST)is a less common cerebrovascular disease that predominantly affects young patients.The incidence of CVST is 2-5/10000000/year,accounting for 0.5%-1%of all stroke.To reduce mortality and morbidity associated with CVST,Chinese Stroke Association commissioned the authors to write the current guideline on the management of CVST.Methods PubMed(MEDLINE),CNKI and Wanfang database were searched for studies related to CVST from 1 January 1990 to 31 July 2019.Data were synthesised by evidence tables.Each recommendation was fully discussed by the writing group members and reviewed by Chinese Stroke Association Stroke Fellow Committees.Levels of evidence grading algorithm of Chinese Stroke Association was used to grade each recommendation.results This guideline mainly focuses on the diagnostic evaluation,therapeutic strategies and secondary prevention of CVST.CT/CTV and MRI/MRV are recommended in the initial imaging evaluation of patients with suspected CVST.Anticoagulation therapy with low-molecular weight heparin should be initiated in patients with CVST immediately.After the acute stage,warfarin is recommended for 3-6 months to prevent the recurrence of CVST and other venous thromboembolic events.Conclusions The guideline summarises the current evidence regarding the management of CVST,and provides references for diagnosis,treatment and secondary prevention of CVST in China.Yuhua Fan Jian Yu Hongbing Chen Jian Zhang Jiangang Duan Dapeng Mo Wenhao Zhu Bo Wang Fubing Ouyang Yicong Chen Linfang Lan Jinsheng Zeng Chinese Stroke Association Stroke Council CVST Guideline Writing Committee 2020Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,2:14
2Three-dimensional-printed individualized porous implants:A new“implant-bone”interface fusion concept for large bone defect treatment显示文摘Bone defect repairs are based on bone graft fusion or replacement.Current large bone defect treatments are inadequate and lack of reliable technology.Therefore,we aimed to investigate a simple technique using three-dimensional(3D)-printed individualized porous implants without any bone grafts,osteoinductive agents,or surface biofunctionalization to treat large bone defects,and systematically study its long-term therapeutic effects and osseointegration characteristics.Twenty-six patients with large bone defects caused by tumor,infection,or trauma received treatment with individualized porous implants;among them,three typical cases underwent a detailed study.Additionally,a large segmental femur defect sheep model was used to study the osseointegration characteristics.Immediate and long-term biomechanical stability was achieved,and the animal study revealed that the bone grew into the pores with gradual remodeling,resulting in a long-term mechanically stable implant-bone complex.Advantages of 3D-printed microporous implants for the repair of bone defects included 1)that the stabilization devices were immediately designed and constructed to achieve early postoperative mobility,and 2)that osseointegration between the host bone and implants was achieved without bone grafting.Our osseointegration method,in which the“implant-bone”interface fusion concept was used instead of“bone-bone”fusion,subverts the traditional idea of osseointegration.Teng Zhang Qingguang Wei Hua Zhou Zehao Jing Xiaoguang Liu Yufeng Zheng Hong Cai Feng Wei Liang Jiang Miao Yu Yan Cheng Daoyang Fan Wenhao Zhou Xinhong Lin Huijie Leng Jian Li Xinyu Li Caimei Wang Yun Tian Zhongjun Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,11:9

4The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology(TBSRTC):A report of 2,781 cases in a Chinese population显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic utility of The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytology(TBSRTC)at Peking University Cancer Hospital,the incidence of noninvasive follicular thyroid neoplasms with papillary-like nuclear features(NIFTP),and the impact of reclassification on cytopathological outcomes.Methods:We performed a retrospective study of thyroid fine-needle aspiration(FNA)cases between April 2014 and March 2019.The FNA results were classified according to TBSRTC.Post-surgery histological findings were followed up.Results:A total of 2,781 thyroid FNAs were performed.The incidences of the 6 diagnostic categories(DCs I-VI)were 14.8%,17.1%,15.8%,2.3%,11.6%and 38.5%,respectively.A total of 1,122 patients(40.3%)had corresponding histological results.NIFTP accounted for 0.4%of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC)cases,and there was no significant difference in the risk of malignancy(ROM)for each TBSRTC DC between'NIFTP=carcinoma(Ca)'and'NIFTP≠Ca'.When'NIFTP=Ca',the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value(PPV),negative predictive value(NPV),and accuracy of TBSRTC were 98.0%,84.0%,99.4%,58.3%,and97.5%,respectively.When'NIFTP≠Ca',the sensitivity,specificity,PPV,NPV and accuracy of the TBSRTC were 98.1%,81.5%,99.3%,61.1%,and 97.5%,respectively.Conclusions:TBSRTC is effective in the preoperative diagnosis of thyroid nodules in Peking University Cancer Hospital.The impact of the reclassification of NIFTP on cytopathological outcomes is limited because of its low incidence,and the revised ROMs are not suitable for Asian patients.Yanli Zhu Yuntao Song Guohui Xu Zhihui Fan Wenhao Ren 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,2:4

6Optimal resource allocation for transmission diversity in multi-radio access networks:a coevolutionary genetic algorithm approach显示文摘The next generation wireless communication systems aim at supporting enhanced diversified network access and data transmission abilities via the cooperative integration and unified management of various radio access technologies(RATs).The resource allocation is the core component leading the network system and mobile terminals to the service robustness and performance maximization.In this paper,a numeric optimization model for optimizing terminals’transmission power and allocated RAT bandwidth for maximizing system capacity is proposed with the focal consideration of the multi-radio transmission diversity for parallel transmission through multiple links from diferent RATs,and diferent terminal characteristics on RAT supports.Also,we design a centralized and periodic scheduling algorithm including an improved coevolutionary genetic algorithm for efciently solving the optimization problem.Simulation results demonstrate that our propose algorithm can distinctly enhance the system performance and improve the computational efciency.FAN WenHao LIU YuanAn WU Fan 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,2:3

8Biological composite fibers with extraordinary mechanical strength and toughness mediated by multiple intermolecular interacting networks显示文摘Numerous strategies involving multiple cross-linking networks have been applied for fabricating robust hydrogels.Inspired by this,the development of mechanically strong and tough biological fibers by the incorporation of intermolecular linking networks is becoming important.Herein,we present a versatile strategy for the fabrication of protein-saccharide composite fibers through protein-initiated double interacting networks.Three types of lysine-rich bioengineered proteins were introduced and the present multiple cross-linking interactions including electrostatic forces and covalent bonds significantly enhanced the mechanical properties of as-obtained composite fibers.In stark contrast to pristine saccharide or other polymer fibers,the as-obtained composite fibers exhibited outstanding mechanical performance,showing a breaking strength of~768 MPa,Young’s modulus of~24 GPa,and toughness of~69 MJ∙m^(–3),respectively.Thus,this established approach has great potentials to fabricate new generation renewable biological fibers with high performance.Sikang Wan Wenhao Cheng Jingjing Li Fan Wang Xiwen Xing Jing Sun Hongjie Zhang Kai Liu 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:2
9Measurement of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxide concentrations during autumn in Beijing, China显示文摘Gaseous peroxides play important roles in atmospheric chemistry. To understand the pathways of the formation and removal of peroxides, atmospheric peroxide concentrations and their controlling factors were measured from 7:00 to 20:00 in September, October, and November 2013 at a heavily trafficked residential site in Beijing, China, with average concentrations of hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) and methyl hydroperoxide(MHP) at 0.55 ppb and 0.063 ppb, respectively. H_2O_2 concentrations were higher in the afternoon and lower in the morning and evening, while MHP concentrations did not exhibit a regular diurnal pattern. Both H_2O_2 and MHP concentrations increased at dusk in most cases. Both peroxides displayed monthly variations with higher concentrations in September. These results suggested that photochemical activity was the main controlling factor on variations of H_2O_2 concentrations during the measurement period. Increasing concentrations of volatile organic compounds emitted by motor vehicles were important contributors to H_2O_2 and MHP enrichment. 10Three-dimensional hierarchical CuO gas sensor modified by Au nanoparticles显示文摘The three-dimensional hierarchical CuO and Au nanoparticles were synthesized by the hydrothermal method, respectively. The hierarchical CuO and the Au nanoparticles samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electronic microscope, respectively. The as-synthesized CuO was assembled regularly from the nanosheets with thickness of 100 nm. The size of Au nanoparticles ranged from 50 to 200 nm. The hierarchical CuO gas sensors modified by different concentration of gold were fabricated. All the Au-loaded CuO gas sensors enhanced the response to ethanol and xylene while reducing the response to methanol, acetone, and formaldehyde. The results indicate that the Au nanoparticles prepared with PVP as surfactant can improve the selectivity of CuO gas sensors to ethanol gas for other common organic volatile gases. The improvement of gas sensing is mainly attributed to the different catalytic efficiency of the Au nanoparticles for different reactions. 11Road to full bioconversion of biowaste to biochemicals centering on chain elongation: A mini review显示文摘Production of biochemicals from waste streams has been attracting increasing worldwide interest to achieve climate protection goals.Chain elongation(CE)for production of mediumchain carboxylic acids(MCCAs,especially caproate,enanthate and caprylate)from diverse biowaste has emerged as a potential economic and environmental technology for a sustainable society.The present mini review summarizes the research utilizing various synthetic or real waste-derived substrates available for MCCA production.Additionally,the microbial characteristics of the CE process are surveyed and discussed.Considering that a large proportion of recalcitrantly biodegradable biowaste and residues cannot be further utilized by CE systems and remain to be treated and disposed,we propose here a loop concept of bioconversion of biowaste to MCCAs making full use of the biowaste with zero emission.This could make possible an alternative technology for synthesis of value-added products from a wide range of biowaste,or even non-biodegradable waste(such as,plastics and rubbers).Meanwhile,the remaining scientific questions,unsolved problems,application potential and possible developments for this technology are discussed.Wenhao Han Pinjing He Liming Shao Fan Lü 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,12:2

13Neuromorphic-computing-based adaptive learning using ion dynamics in flexible energy storage devices显示文摘High-accuracy neuromorphic devices with adaptive weight adjustment are crucial for high-performance computing.However,limited studies have been conducted on achieving selective and linear synaptic weight updates without changing electrical pulses.Herein,we propose high-accuracy and self-adaptive artificial synapses based on tunable and flexible MXene energy storage devices.These synapses can be adjusted adaptively depending on the stored weight value to mitigate time and energy loss resulting from recalculation.The resistance can be used to effectively regulate the accumulation and dissipation of ions in single devices,without changing the external pulse stimulation or preprogramming,to ensure selective and linear synaptic weight updates.The feasibility of the proposed neural network based on the synapses of flexible energy devices was investigated through training and machine learning.The results indicated that the device achieved a recognition accuracy of~95%for various neural network calculation tasks such as numeric classification.Shufang Zhao Wenhao Ran Zheng Lou Linlin Li Swapnadeep Poddar Lili Wang Zhiyong Fan Guozhen Shen 2022National Science Review2022,9,11:1

15Science with the 2.5-meter Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST)显示文摘The Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST) is a dedicated photometric surveying facility being built jointly by University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) and the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO). It is equipped with a 2.5-meter diameter primary mirror, an active optics system, and a mosaic CCD camera with 0.73 gigapixels on the primary focal plane for highquality image capture over a 6.5-square-degree field of view. The installation of WFST near the summit of Saishiteng mountain in the Lenghu region is scheduled in summer of 2023, and the operation is planned to start three months later. WFST will scan the northern sky in four optical bands(u, g, r and i) at cadences from hourly/daily in the deep high-cadence survey(DHS) program, to semi-weekly in the wide field survey(WFS) program. During a photometric night, a nominal 30 s exposure in the WFS program will reach a depth of 22.27, 23.32, 22.84, and 22.31(AB magnitudes) in these four bands, respectively, allowing for the detection of a tremendous amount of transients in the low-z universe and a systematic investigation of the variability of Galactic and extragalactic objects. In the DHS program, intranight 90 s exposures as deep as 23(u) and 24 mag(g), in combination with target of opportunity follow-ups, will provide a unique opportunity to explore energetic transients in demand for high sensitivities, including the electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave events, supernovae within a few hours of their explosions,tidal disruption events and fast, luminous optical transients even beyond redshift of unity. In addition, the final 6-year co-added images, anticipated to reach g■25.8 mag in WFS or 1.5 mags deeper in DHS, will be of fundamental importance to general Galactic and extragalactic science. The highly uniform legacy surveys of WFST will serve as an indispensable complement to those of the Vera C. 17Smart gas sensor arrays powered by artificial intelligence显示文摘Mobile robots behaving as humans should possess multifunctional flexible sensing systems including vision,hearing,touch,smell,and taste.A gas sensor array(GSA),also known as electronic nose,is a possible solution for a robotic olfactory system that can detect and discriminate a wide variety of gas molecules.Artificial intelligence(AI)applied to an electronic nose involves a diverse set of machine learning algorithms which can generate a smell print by analyzing the signal pattern from the GSA.A combination of GSA and AI algorithms can empower intelligent robots with great capabilities in many areas such as environmental monitoring,gas leakage detection,food and beverage production and storage,and especially disease diagnosis through detection of different types and concentrations of target gases with the advantages of portability,low-powerconsumption and ease-of-operation.It is exciting to envisage robots equipped with a'nose'acting as family doctor who will guard every family member's health and keep their home safe.In this review,we give a summary of the state-of the-art research progress in the fabrication techniques for GSAs and typical algorithms employed in artificial olfactory systems,exploring their potential applications in disease diagnosis,environmental monitoring,and explosive detection.We also discuss the key limitations of gas sensor units and their possible solutions.Finally,we present the outlook of GSAs over the horizon of smart homes and cities.Zhesi Chen Zhuo Chen Zhilong Song Wenhao Ye Zhiyong Fan 2019Journal of Semiconductors2019,40,11:1
