1Sedum alfredii H:A new Zn hyperaccumulating plant first found in China显示文摘Field survey and greenhouse experiments were carried out to identify and characterize zinc (Zn) uptake and accumulation by a new Zn hyperaccumulating plant species (Sedum alfredii Hance) native to China. Zinc concentration in the shoots of Sedum alfredii Hance grown on an ancient mined area ranged from 4134 to 5000 mg/kg, with a mean of 4515 mg/kg. It suggests that Sedum alfredii could not only grow on heavily Pb/Zn contaminated soils, but also could accumulate extraordinarily high concentration of Zn. Under nutrient solution culture conditions, Sedum alfredii Hance grew healthy at Zn supplying levels from 0.006 to 240 mg · L-1. Zinc concentration in the shoots increased with external Zn levels increasing. The Zn concentration and accumulation in the shoots reached the highest at Zn supply level of SO mg/L, with 19.67 g/kg and 19.83 nig/plant, respectively. All the results showed that Sedum alfredii Hance is a new Zn hyperaccumulating plant. 2Hybrid artificial bee colony algorithm with variable neighborhood search and memory mechanism显示文摘Artificial bee colony(ABC) is one of the most popular swarm intelligence optimization algorithms which have been widely used in numerical optimization and engineering applications. However, there are still deficiencies in ABC regarding its local search ability and global search efficiency. Aiming at these deficiencies,an ABC variant named hybrid ABC(HABC) algorithm is proposed.Firstly, the variable neighborhood search factor is added to the solution search equation, which can enhance the local search ability and increase the population diversity. Secondly, inspired by the neuroscience investigation of real honeybees, the memory mechanism is put forward, which assumes the artificial bees can remember their past successful experiences and further guide the subsequent foraging behavior. The proposed memory mechanism is used to improve the global search efficiency. 3Timing of mortality in severe acute pancreatitis:Experience from 643 patients显示文摘AIM: To determine the timing of mortality after onset of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) and the course of the disease in a large series of patients. METHODS: From July 1996 to June 2005, all patients diagnosed with acute pancreatitis at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan were retrospectively studied. Three thousand two hundred and fifty episodes of acute pancreatitis were recorded in 2248 patients (1431 males and 817 females; median age, 55.6 years; range, 18-97 years). Mortality was divided into two groups: early death (≤ 14 d after admission), and late death (> 14 d after admission). The clinical features of patients in these two groups were compared. RESULTS: Although the overall mortality rate of acute pancreatitis was 3.8% (123/3250), mortality rate of SAP was as high as 16.3% (105/643). Of those 105 SAP mortalities, 44 (41.9%) deaths occurred within the first 14 d after admission and 61 (58.1%) occurred after14 d. Incidence of early death did not significantly differ from that of late death. The co-morbidities did not contribute to the timing of death. Early deaths mainly resulted from multiple organ failure. Late deaths were mainly caused by secondary complication of infected necrosis. Intra- abdominal bleeding significantly caused higher mortality in late death. CONCLUSION: Approximately half (42%) of SAP deaths occur within 14 d and most were due to multiple organ failure. 6Infantile hepatic hemangioendothelioma:A clinicopathologic study in a Chinese population显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether the clinicopathologic features of infantile hemangioendothelioma(IHE) of the liver in a Chinese population are similar to the features observed in other races.METHODS:The clinical data,radiological findings,histopathological changes and outcome of 12 cases of IHE diagnosed by the Department of Pathology,West China Hospital over the last 10 years were analyzed retrospectively.Immunohistochemical studies were carried out using antibodies against CD31,CD34,Factor Ⅷ,cytokeratin 8 and cytokeratin 18.RESULTS:The 12 patients were aged from fetal to 5 years(three males and nine females).The tumor was presented with different clinical manifestations,mainly as an asymptomatic,palpable,upper abdominal mass,except for the two fetuses who were detected antena-tally by ultrasound.In one patient,this presentation was accompanied by an initial severe pneumothorax.No symptoms of congestive heart failure were present and neither congenital abnormalities nor vascular tumors in the skin or other organs were found.Laboratory abnormalities included leukocytosis(40%),anemia(60%),thrombocytosis(60%),hyperbilirubinemia(16.7%),abnormal liver function(50%) and increased α-fetoprotein(80%).Based on radiological findings and gross specimens,the tumor presented as a solitary lesion or a multifocal space-occupying lesion.The tumor size ranged from 5.0 cm × 3.5 cm × 2.0 cm to 13.8 cm × 9.0 cm × 7.7 cm,and the 0.2-1.1 cm nodules were diffusely distributed within the multifocal tumor.Seven cases were surgically resected,three cases underwent biopsy and the two fetuses were aborted.Histologically,nine cases were classified as typeⅠ and three as type Ⅱ,presenting aggressive morphologic features,immature vessels,active mitosis and necrosis.An inflammatory component,predominantly eosinophilic granulocytes,sometimes obscured the nature of the tumor.Ten patients are alive after a follow-up of 1-9 years.Based on immunohistochemistry,the endothelial cells in all cases were positive for CD31,CD34 and polyclonal factor Ⅷ antigen,whereas the scattered hyperplasia bile ducts were positive for cytokeratin 8 and cytokeratin 18.CONCLUSION:The clinical manifestations of IHE are non-specific.There is no significant correlation between histological type and prognosis.The clinicopathologic features of IHE in Chinese patients may provide a clue to further evidence-based studies.Zhang Zhang,Hui-Jiao Chen,Wen-Juan Yang,Hong Bu,Bing Wei,Xiao-Yu Long,Jing Fu,Rui Zhang,Yun-Bi Ni,Hong-Ying Zhang,Department of Pathology,West China Hospital,Sichuan University,Guoxuexiang 37,Chengdu 610041,Sichuan Province,China 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,36:16
7Primary intestinal malignant fibrous histiocytoma:two case reports显示文摘Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) occurs most commonly in the extremities and trunk, but rarely in the intestine. Here we report two cases of primary intestinal MFH. The first case was a 70-year old man admitted for recurrent right lower quadrant abdominal pain. At laparotomy, a tumor was found originating from the cecum, with a suspicious metastatic nodule on the surface of the right lobe of the liver. A right hemicolectomy was performed followed by an ileotransverse end-to-end anastomotic reconstruction. The second case was a 43-year old man with intussusceptions of the small intestine. An emergent laparotomy revealed 4 pedunculated masses in the small bowel and a partial resection of the small intestine was performed. Though the symptoms were not typical, based on histological and immunohistochemical studies, the patients were diagnosed as MFH of the intestine. They were not treated with chemotherapy or radiotherapy and both died within 3 mo. MFH of the intestine is an extremely rare neoplasm with an aggressive biological behavior. The pathogenesis of this disease has not been clarified to date. 8Identification of a Newly Isolated Getah Virus in the China-Laos Border,China显示文摘In this study, we isolated a virus strain(YN12031) from specimens of Armigeres subalbatus collected in the China-Laos border. BHK-21 cells infected with YN12031 exhibited an evident cytopathic effect(CPE) 32 h post-infection. The virus particles were spherical, 70 nm in diameter, and enveloped; they also featured surface fibers. Molecular genetic analysis revealed that YN12031 was closely related to alpha viruses such as Chikungunya virus and Sindbis virus, and located in the same clade as MM2021, the prototype of Getahvirus(GETV) isolated in Malaysia in 1955. Phylogenetic analysis of the E2 and capsid genes further revealed that YN12031 was located in the same clade as the Russian isolate LEIV/16275/Mag. Analysis of the homology of nucleotides and amino acids in the coding area and E2 gene demonstrated that the YN12031 isolated from the China-Laos border(tropical region) was related closest to the LEIV/16275/Mag isolate obtained in Russia(North frigid zone area) among other isolates studied. These results suggest that GETV can adapt to different geographical environments to propagate and evolve. 10Comparative investigation on high-speed grinding of TiCp/Ti–6Al–4V particulate reinforced titanium matrix composites with single-layer electroplated and brazed CBN wheels显示文摘In order to develop the high-efficiency and precision machining technique of Ti Cp/Ti–6Al–4V particulate reinforced titanium matrix composites(PTMCs), high-speed grinding experiments were conducted using the single-layer electroplated cubic boron nitride(CBN) wheel and brazed CBN wheel, respectively. The comparative grinding performance was studied in terms of grinding force, grinding temperature, grinding-induced surface features and defects. The results display that the grinding forces and grinding temperature obtained with the brazed CBN wheel are always lower than those with the electroplated CBN wheel. Though the voids and microcracks are the dominant grinding-induced surface defects, the brazed CBN wheel produces less surface defects compared to the electroplated wheel according to the statistical analysis results. The maximum materials removal rate with the brazed CBN wheel is much higher than that with the electroplated one. 11Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. 12Effect of ultrasonic treatment and Sr addition on microstructure of Al-20%Si alloy显示文摘Many investigations have revealed that transition of melt structure can effectively infl uence the fi nal solidifi cation microstructures.In this study,ultrasonic treatment was applied to Al-20%Si melt and Sr-modif ied Al-20%Si melt at 720℃(i.e.above liquidus of about 690℃)for 60 s,and then the melt was quickly quenched to room temperature.Experimental results show that ultrasonic treatment can ref ine the primary Si phase andα-Al of Al-20%Si alloy;strontium can make the morphology of Si phase spheroidized and refi ned as Sr addition changes the faceted growth characteristic of Si phase;however,the ref inement effect of ultrasonic treatment on the primary Si phase andα-Al is weakened by Sr addition.Miao Long Lu Yiping Zhang Yubo Fu Ying Li Tingju 2013China Foundry2013,10,4:10
13Adsorption of VOCs on reduced graphene oxide显示文摘A modified Hummer's method was adopted for the synthesis of graphene oxide(GO) and reduced graphene oxide(rGO). It was revealed that the modified method is effective for the production of GO and rGO from graphite. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) images of GO and rGO showed a sheet-like morphology. Because of the presence of oxygenated functional groups on the carbon surface, the interlayer spacing of the prepared GO was higher than that of rGO. The presence of \OH and C_O groups in the Fourier transform infrared spectra(FTIR) spectrum and G-mode and 2D-mode in Raman spectra confirmed the synthesis of GO and rGO. rGO(292.6 m^2/g) showed higher surface area than that of GO(236.4 m^2/g). The prepared rGO was used as an adsorbent for benzene and toluene(model pollutants of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)) under dynamic adsorption/desorption conditions. rGO showed higher adsorption capacity and breakthrough times than GO. The adsorption capacity of rGO for benzene and toluene was 276.4 and 304.4 mg/g, respectively.Desorption experiments showed that the spent rGO can be successfully regenerated by heating at 150.0°C. 14Carcinogenic potential of duodenal reflux juice from patients with long-standing postgastrectomy显示文摘AIM To determine, whether study on thecarcinogenic potential of reflux juice frompatients with remote gastrectomy could clarifythe inherent relationship between duodenalreflux and gastric stump cancer.METHODS A total of 37 reflux juice samples(13 Billroth T, 24 Billroth Ⅱ ) were employed inthe present study. A two- stage transformationassay using BALB/c 3T3 cells was carried out totest the initiating or promoting activity of thesesamples.RESULTS Two of 18 (11.1%) reflux samplesexerted initiating activities, whereas 9/19(47.4%) samples enhanced the MNNG-initiafingcell transformation, suggesting the duodenalreflux juice might more frequently possess thetumor-promoter activity (P = 0. 029). In addition,there was no difference in initiating activities ofthe samples irrespective of surgical procedures(P=0.488), while Billroth Ⅱ samples exhibitedstronger tumor-promoter activity than Billroth Ⅰsamples (P = 0.027). Furthermore, the promoteractivities were well correlated with thehistological changes of the stomas (rs = 0.625,P = 0.004), but neither their cytotoxicities norinitiating activities had this correlation( Probabilities were 0.523 and 0.085,respectively).CONCLUSION The duodenal reflux juice frompatients with remote postgastrectomy did havecarcinogenic potential, and suggested thattumor-promoting activity should principallyaccount for the high incidence of gastric cancerin gastrectomy patients. 15Comparison of sentinel lymph node detection performances using blue dye in conjunction with indocyanine green or radioisotope in breast cancer patients: a prospective singlecenter randomized study显示文摘Objective:This randomized study aimed to compare the clinical efficacy between the novel dual tracer composed of indocyanine green(ICG)and blue dye(BD)and the conventional dual tracer composed of radioisotope and BD for sentinel lymph node(SLN)mapping in patients with breast cancer.Methods:This study enrolled 471 clinically lymph node-negative patients with primary breast cancer.All patients underwent mastectomy,and those undergoing sentinel lymph node biopsy(SLNB)were randomized to receive blue dye plus radioisotope(RB group)or BD plus ICG(IB group).The detection performances on SLN identification rate,positive SLN counts,detection sensitivity,and false-negative rate were compared between the two groups.Results:In the IB group,97%(194/200)of the patients who underwent the ICG and BD dual tracer injection showed fluorescentpositive lymphatic vessels within 2–5 min.The identification rate of SLNs was comparable between the IB group(99.0%,198/200)and the RB group(99.6%,270/271)(P=0.79).No significant differences were observed in the identification rate of metastatic SLNs(22.5%vs.22.9%,P>0.05,RB group vs.IB group,the same below),positive SLN counts(3.72±2.28 vs.3.91±2.13,P>0.05),positive metastatic SLN counts(0.38±0.84 vs.0.34±0.78,P>0.05),SLNB detection sensitivity(94.4%vs.92.5%,P>0.05),or false-negative rate(5.6%vs.7.5%,P>0.05)between the two groups.Conclusions:ICG can be used as a promising alternative tracer for radioisotope in SLN mapping,and when it is combined with BD in lymphangiography,it offers comparable detection sensitivity compared to the conventional lymphatic mapping strategies that are widely used in clinical practice.Long Yuan Xiaowei Qi Yi Zhang Xinhua Yang Fan Zhang Linjun Fan Li Chen Kongyong Zhang Ling Zhong Yanling Li Sijie Gan Wenying Fu Jun Jiang 2018Cancer Biology & Medicine2018,15,4:9
16Self-supported high-entropy alloy electrocatalyst for highly efficient H_(2) evolution in acid condition显示文摘Developing non-precious catalysts as Pt substitutes for electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)with superior stability in acidic electrolyte is of critical importance for large-scale,low-cost hydrogen production from water.Herein,we report a CoCrFeNiAl high-entropy alloy(HEA)electrocatalyst with self-supported structure synthesized by mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering(SPS)consolidation.The HEA after HF treatment and in situ electrochemical activation for 4000 cycles of cyclic voltammetry(HF-HEAa2)presents favourable activity with overpotential of 73 mV to reach a current density of 10 mA cm^(2) and a Tafel slope of 39.7 mV dec1.The alloy effect of Al/Cr with Co/Fe/Ni at atomic level,high-temperature crystallization,as well as consolidation by SPS endow CoCrFeNiAl HEA with high stability in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution.The superior performance of HF-HEAa2 is related with the presence of metal hydroxides/oxides groups on HEA.Peiyan Ma Mingming Zhao Long Zhang Heng Wang Junfeng Gu Yuchen Sun Wei Ji Zhengyi Fu 2020Journal of Materiomics2020,6,4:8
17Analysis of gene expression profiles in pancreatic carcinoma by using cDNA microarray显示文摘OBJECTIVES: To survey the gene expression profiles in pancreatic carcinoma by using cDNA microarrayand detect target genes for further study.METHODS: Three mixed samples from 2 cases of normal pancreatic tissue and 4 cases ofmoderate-differentiated pancreatic carcinoma were studied by means of cDNA microarray consisting of18 000 genes.RESULTS: 1484 and 1353 different expressed genes were observed in two cancer samples respectively.We identified 455 genes altered with the same tendency in both samples, including 102 up-regulated and353 down-regulated genes. There were 274 known genes and 181 unknown genes; 27.8% and 52.0%genes respectively had an expression level in cancer that was 2-fold higher or lower than that in normalsamples. Tumor suppressor genes, growth factors and receptor genes, signal conduction genes,transcription factor genes were identified.CONCLUSIONS: cDNA microarray is an efficient and high-throughout method to investigate geneexpression profiles in pancreatic carcinoma. 19Highly efficient Cu/anatase TiO2 {001}-nanosheets catalysts for methanol synthesis from CO2显示文摘Anatase TiO_2 nanosheets(-ns-) with dominant exposed {001} facets were used as support to load copper,and the synthesized Cu/TiO_2-ns catalysts were evaluated for CO_2 hydrogenation to methanol. Under the reaction conditions, P = 3.0 MPa, T = 260 ℃, V(N_2):V(H_2):V(CO_2) = 8:69:23 and gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) = 3600 mL g^(-1)h^(-1), the methanol yield reached an appealing high value, 5.6%. Copper-loading amount, calcination temperature and reduction atmosphere have been investigated in this work, which significantly influence the particle sizes of copper and/or the defect concentration in TiO_2, then leading to different catalytic performance. Characterizations of XRD, EPR, CO_2-TPD and FTIR demonstrate that higher specific surface area of Cu is good for the hydrogenation of CO_2 and adequate amount of Ti^(3+) plays important roles in CO_2 activation.
