1Antidiabetic Effects of Gegen Qinlian Decoction via the Gut Microbiota Are Attributable to Its Key Ingredient Berberine显示文摘Gegen Qinlian Decoction(GQD),a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)formula,has long been used for the treatment of common metabolic diseases,including type 2 diabetes mellitus.However,the main limitation of its wider application is ingredient complexity of this formula.Thus,it is critically important to identify the major active ingredients of GQD and to illustrate mechanisms underlying its action.Here,we compared the effects of GQD and berberine,a hypothetical key active pharmaceutical ingredient of GQD,on a diabetic rat model by comprehensive analyses of gut microbiota,short-chain fatty acids,proinflammatory cytokines,and ileum transcriptomics.Our results show that berberine and GQD had similar effects on lowering blood glucose levels,modulating gut microbiota,inducing ileal gene expression,as well as relieving systemic and local inflammation.As expected,both berberine and GQD treatment significantly altered the overall gut microbiota structure and enriched many butyrate-producing bacteria,including Faecalibacterium and Roseburia,thereby attenuating intestinal inflammation and lowering glucose.Levels of short-chain fatty acids in rat feces were also significantly elevated after treatment with berberine or GQD.Moreover,concentration of serum proinflammatory cytokines and expression of immune-related genes,including Nfkb1,Stat1,and Ifnrg1,in pancreatic islets were significantly reduced after treatment.Our study demonstrates that the main effects of GQD can be attributed to berberine via modulating gut microbiota.The strategy employed would facilitate further standardization and widespread application of TCM in many diseases.Xizhan Xu Zezheng Gao Fuquan Yang Yingying Yang Liang Chen Lin Han Na Zhao Jiayue Xu Xinmiao Wang Yue Ma Lian Shu Xiaoxi Hu Na Lyu Yuanlong Pan Baoli Zhu Linhua Zhao Xiaolin Tong Jun Wang 2020Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2020,18,6:29
2Analysis of Typical Automakers’ Strategies for Meeting the Dual-Credit Regulations Regarding CAFC and NEVs显示文摘The parallel corporate average fuel consumption(CAFC)and new energy vehicle(NEV)credit schemes that have been introduced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China is an innovative attempt to simultaneously regulate conventional gasoline vehicles(CGVs)and NEVs in the passenger vehicle sector that is expected to function as a long-term management mechanism for CGVs to be more energy-efficient and NEVs to be well-promoted.This will have a significant impact on trends in China’s automotive industry and automakers’business decisions.Taking the cases of four typical automakers with different levels of average fuel economy in their CGVs and advanced NEV production,scenario analysis has been applied to generate these automakers’alternatives in relation to compliance with the dual-credit regulations in force from 2017 to 2020 based on the Interim Measures on the Joint Management of CAFC and NEV Credits(Draft).These automakers’alternative approaches to compliance are compared.Further,in view of the financial losses as a result of halted production if they fail to comply,the values of CAFC and NEV credits and corresponding influencing factors are analyzed from the automakers’perspective.Finally,the most cost-effective compliance strategies for these automakers are summarized and suggested improvements in the regulations are proposed for the government.Yue Wang Fuquan Zhao Yinshuo Yuan Han Hao Zongwei Liu 2018Automotive Innovation2018,1,1:14

5Testing the role of genetic variation of the MC4R gene in Chinese population in antipsychotic-induced metabolic disturbance显示文摘Antipsychotic-induced metabolic disturbance(AIMD) is a common adverse effect of antipsychotics with genetics partly underpinning variation in susceptibility among schizophrenia patients. Melanocortin4 receptor(MC4 R) gene, one of the candidate genes for AIMD, has been under-studied in the Chinese patients. We conducted a pharmacogenetic study in a large cohort of Chinese patients with schizophrenia. In this study, we investigated the genetic variation of MC4 R in Chinese population by genotyping two SNPs(rs489693 and rs17782313) in 1,991 Chinese patients and examined association of these variants with the metabolic effects that were often observed to be related to AIMD. Metabolic measures, including body mass index(BMI), waist circumference(WC), glucose, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein(HDL), and low-density lipoprotein(LDL) levels were assessed at baseline and after 6-week antipsychotic treatment. We found that interaction of SNP×medication status(drug-na?ve/medicated) was significantly associated with BMI, WC, and HDL change %, respectively. Both SNPs were significantly associated with baseline BMI and WC in the medicated group. Moderate association of rs489693 with WC, Triglyceride, and HDL change % were observed in the whole sample. In the drug-na?ve group, we found recessive effects of rs489693 on BMI gain more than 7%, WC and Triglyceride change %, with AA incurring more metabolic adverse effects. In conclusion, the association between rs489693 and the metabolic measures is ubiquitous but moderate. Rs17782313 is less involved in AIMD. 6Comparative analysis by simulating and testing pole impact for hot stamping front crossbeam of automobile显示文摘Hot stamping 22MnB5 steel plate with ultra-high strength has been widely used for body structural members in consideration of automobile safety and lightweight.This paper presents a verification program of simulating and testing pole impact in order to verify if the front crossbeam reinforcement assembly can meet the design requirements,reduce the overall vehicle simulation and test cost and shorten the operation period.In the same condition,the simulation proved conforming to the design requirements;however,the bumper cracked at the impacting point in the course of pole impact test.The analysis of the crack by optical microscope,Vickers and scanning electron microscope indicates that mixture of ferrite,bainite and martensite was produced in the weld heat-affected zone of the 340/590DP tow hook holder and the 22MnB5 front crossbeam;therefore,their hardness and mechanical property were reduced obviously,so that they fractured when impacted.No welding process with continuous weld but spot welding or other bonding method may be employed for the reason that the capacity of the 22MnB5 steel plate in the weld heat-affected zone was reduced obviously.Ma Fangwu Yao Zaiqi Liu Qiang Wang Xiaona Zhao Fuquan Li Fangfang Lin Jianping 2012Engineering Sciences2012,10,6:2

8The special shaped laser spot for driving indirect-drive hohlraum with multi-beam incidence显示文摘In indirect drive, reducing peak intensity of a single beam and controlling overlap of multi-beams are two opposite requirements for laser focal spot design. In this paper, an improved laser spot design technique for indirect drive built upon the geometric structures of laser propagation into hohlraum has been introduced. The proposed technique is able to generate appropriate continuous phase plate(CPP) producing a special shaped spot that can balance the opposite requirements. The corresponding CPP does not bring difficulties to the design and fabrication. 11Magnetic properties of Fe_(3(1-x))Cr_(3x)C alloys显示文摘The magnetic properties of Fe3(1-x)Cr3xC alloys with x=0.05, 0.1, 0.15, and 0.2, which crystallize in the cementite Fe3C-type structure with space group Pnma, were investigated by means of magnetization measurements. These alloys show temperature-induced second-order magnetic phase transitions. The Curie temperature (Tc) of these alloys decreases with increasing x. The isothermal magnetic-entropy changes of these alloys were derived from the magnetic isotherms measured with increasing tem-perature and increasing field. The maximum values of the magnetic-entropy change are about 0.9 and 3.6 J·kg-1·K-1 at Tc =360 K for x = 0.05 in a magnetic field change from 0 to 1 T and 0 to 5 T, respectively.Feng-qi Zhao O. 12Development Trends of Transmissions for Hybrid Electric Vehicles Using an Optimized Energy Management Strategy显示文摘Energy conservation and emissions reduction have become increasingly significant for automobiles due to the severity of the current energy situation.Hybrid electric vehicle(HEV)technology is one of the most promising solutions.This study investigated the total efficiency of a HEV powertrain.To improve the total efficiency,the engine should be regulated to work at its highest efficiency and drive the wheels directly as much as possible.To accomplish this,we developed an energy management strategy based on the direct drive area(DDA)of the engine’s efficiency map.Several typical HEV models were built to compare the fuel consumption using DDA and rule-based strategies.Furthermore,the function of the HEV transmission system with DDA was considered.The transmission in a HEV should regulate the engine to work at its highest efficiency as much as possible,which is rather different than the regulation in an internal combustion engine vehicle.The functional change may lead to transmission systems with fewer gears but optimal gear ratios.If this trend is realized,the manufacturing cost of HEVs could be largely reduced.Tianze Shi Fuquan Zhao Han Hao Zongwei Liu 2018Automotive Innovation2018,1,4:1

14The DNA concentration effect on DNA radiation damage induced by 7Li ions and γ rays显示文摘To evaluate the influence of the DNA concentration in the aqueous solution on DNA radiation damage, the plasmid DNA in the presence or absence of Mannitol (scavenger of free radical OH·) was irradiated by 7Li ions and γ rays at various DNA concentrations. Gel electrophoresis analysis revealed that the DNA damage of single and double strand breaks induced by irradiation became more severe at lower DNA concentration. In the condition of γ-ray irradiation, most of double strand breaks (DSB) damage was neutralized and less associated with DNA concentration in the presence of mannitol. However, under 7Li irradiation, DSB damage could not be cleared by mannitol but was gradually aggravated with decreasing DNA concentrations. These findings imply that under low-LET irradiation, most of the DSB damage is generated by free radical OH? diffusion, and thus may be counteracted by scavengers, while at higher-LET irradiation, quite a fraction of DSB induction is caused by direct ionizing energy deposi- tion of heavy ions, which cannot be eliminated. This work also indicates that the proportion between free radical damage and direct ionizing damage is a constant which is independent of DNA concentra- tion when the DNA concentration is under a certain value (50 ng/μL). 15Aerosol optical properties and its direct radiative forcing over Tibetan Plateau from 2006 to 2017显示文摘Studies on optical properties of aerosols can reduce the uncertainty for modelling direct radiative forcing(DRF)and improve the accuracy for discussing aerosols effects on the Tibetan Plateau(TP)climate.This study investigated the spatiotemporal variation of aerosol optical and microphysical properties over TP based on OMI and MERRA2,and assessed the influence of aerosol optical properties on DRF at NamCo station(30°46.44′N,90°59.31′E,4730 m)in the central TP from 2006 to 2017 based on a long measurement of AERONET and the modelling of SBDART model.The results show that aerosol optical depth(AOD)exhibits obvious seasonal variation over TP,with higher AOD500nm(>0.75)during spring and summer,and lower value(<0.25)in autumn and winter.The aerosol concentrations show a fluctuated rising from 1980 to 2000,significant increasing from 2000 to 2010 and slight declining trend after 2013.Based on sensitivity experiments,it is found that AOD and single scattering albedo(SSA)have more important impact on the DRF compared withαvalues and ASY.When AOD440nm increases by 60%,DRF at the TOA and ATM is increased by 57.2%and 60.2%,respectively.When SSA440nm increases by 20%,DRF at the TOA and ATM decreases by 121%and 96.7%,respectively.Hongru Bi Siyu Chen Dan Zhao Fuquan Lu Yu Chen Yawen Guan 2023Particuology2023,,3:0

17Synthesizing an inorganic-rich solid electrolyte interphase by tailoring solvent chemistry in carbonate electrolyte for enabling high-voltage lithium metal batteries显示文摘High-voltage(>4.0 V)lithium metal battery(LBM)is considered to be one of the most promising candidates for next-generation high-energy batteries.However,the commercial carbonate electrolyte delivers a poor compatibility with Li metal anode,and its organic dominated solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)shows a low interfacial energy and a slow Li^(+)diffusion ability.In this work,an inorganic LiF-Li_(3)N rich SEI is designed to enable high-voltage LBM by introducing nano-cubic LiF and LiNO_(3)into1 M LiPF_(6)ethylene carbonate(EC)/dimethyl carbonate(DMC)(v:v=1:1)electrolyte.Specifically,the unique nano-cubic structure of as-synthetized LiF particles achieves its high concentration dissolution in carbonate electrolyte to enhance the interfacial energy of SEI.In addition,tetramethylene sulfolane(TMS)is used as a carrier solvent to dissolve LiNO_(3)in the carbonate electrolyte,thereby deriving a Li_(3)N-rich SEI.As a result,the as-designed electrolyte shows a high average Li plating/striping CE of 98.3%after 100 cycles at 0.5 m A cm^(-2)/0.5 mA h cm^(-2).Furthermore,it also enables the ultrathin Li(~50μm)‖LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM,4.4 mA h cm^(-2))full cell to deliver a high-capacity retention of 80.4%after 100 cycles with an outstanding average CE of 99.7%.Notably,the practical application prospect of the modified electrolyte is also estimated in LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)‖Li pouch cell with an energy density of 261.2 W h kg^(-1).This work sheds light on the internal mechanism of Li^(+)transport within the inorganic dominated SEI and provides a simple approach to stabilize the high-voltage LMBs.Qiwen Ran Hongyuan Zhao Jintao Liu Lei Li Qiang Hu Fuquan Nie Xingquan Liu Sridhar Kormarneni 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,7:0
