2Effect of Nimesulide on proliferation and apoptosis of human hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells显示文摘AIM: Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) has been suggested to beassociated with carcinogenesis. We sought to investigatethe effect of the selective COX-2 inhibitor, Nimesulide onproliferation and apoptosis of SMMC-7721 human hepatomacells.METHODS: This study was carried out on the culture ofhepatic carcinoma SMMC-7721 cell line. Variousconcentrations of Nimesulide (0、200 μmol/L、300 μmol/L、400μmol/L) were added and incubated. Cell proliferation wasdetected with MTT colorimetric assay, cell apoptosis byelectron microscopy, flow cytometry and TUNEL.RESULTS: Nimesulide could significantly inhibit SMMC-7721cells proliferation dose-dependent and in a dependentmanner compared with that of the control group. Theduration lowest inhibition rate produced by Nimesulide inSMMC-7721 cells was 19.06 %, the highest inhibition ratewas 58.49 %. After incubation with Nimesulide for 72 h, themost highest apoptosis rate and apoptosis index of SMMC-7721 cells comparing with those of the control were 21. 20 %+1.62% vs2.24% +0.26% and21.23+ 1.78 vs2.01+0.23(p<0.05).CONCLUSION: The selective COX-2 inhibitor, Nimesulide caninhibit the proliferation of SMMC-7721 cells and increaseapoptssis rate and apoptosis index of SMMC-7721 cells. 4Impact of Long-Term Atrazine Use on Groundwater Safety in Jilin Province, China显示文摘The long-lasting application of representative herbicide atrazine (ATR) has given rise to the accumulation of its residues in the groundwater. To investigate the impact of long-term ATR use on groundwater safety, the residues of ATR and its metabolites, desethylatrazine (DEA), deisopropylatrazine (DIA) and hydroxyatrazine (HA) were monitored in groundwater and top soil at the major corn growing region of Qian'an and Gongzhuling in Jilin Province, China. The residues of the target compounds were analyzed by UPLC-MS/MS. The limits of detection (LODs) of ATR, DEA, DIA, and HA were 0.5, 0.5, 5, and 0.5 ng L-1 in groundwater and 0.33, 0.33, 3.3, and 0.33 μg kg-1 in soil. The target compounds were found in 94% of groundwater samples and 100% of soil samples. The compounds detected most frequently in groundwater were ATR (89%), DEA (64%) and HA (17%), whereas in soil were ATR (97%), DEA (36%) and HA (97%). DIA was not detected in any determined groundwater and soil sample. Average residues were 106.8 ng L-1 for ATR, 0.9 ng L-1 for DEA and 0.3 ng L-1 for HA in groundwater, whereas 11.1 μg kg-1 for ATR, 0.4 μg kg-1 for DEA and 7.8 μg kg-1 for HA in soil. ATR residues detected in groundwater samples were below standards for drinking water quality (GB5749-2006, 2 μg L-1), while the total residues of ATR and its chloro-s-triazine metabolites (DEA and DIA) were below current WHO (World Health Organization) guideline value (GV, 0.1 mg L-1). In addition, concentrations of HA in groundwater were determined below current WHO GV (0.2 mg L-1). The results indicated that ATR is safe to be used in Jilin Province under the current application scheme. 5Exploratory clinical study of chidamide,an oral subtype-selective histone deacetylase inhibitor,in combination with exemestane in hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer显示文摘Objective: The recurrence or progression under endocrine therapy in hormone receptor-positive(HR+)advanced breast cancer(ABC) remained a critical clinical challenge.Chidamide is an oral subtype-selective histone deacetylase(HDAC) inhibitor with multiple functions in tumor growth inhibition and microenvironment modulation via epigenetic reprogramming.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety,pharmacokinetics(PK),and preliminary efficacy of chidamide in combination with exemestane in HR+ ABC patients.Methods: Eligible patients were postmenopausal women with HR+ ABC recurrent or progressed to at least one endocrine therapy.Blood samples were obtained in the run-in period and the first day of combination treatment for PK analysis.In combination treatment,patients were given exemestane 25mg daily and chidamide 30mg twice a week(BIW) until progression of disease or intolerable toxicities.A treatment cycle was defined as 4 weeks.Safety,PK parameters,and preliminary efficacy were evaluated.Results: A total of 20 patients were enrolled between July and December,2015.The median number of treatments cycle was 5.2(20.8 weeks) with 2 patients still on treatment at the data cut-off date of October,2017.The treatment-related adverse events(AE) ≥ grade 3 in more than 2 patients were neutropenia(35%),thrombocytopenia(30%),and leucopenia(20%).The plasma exposure of exemestane was consistent in the presence or absence of chidamide.A slight increase in chidamide exposure was noted in the presence of exemestane,probably due to the inter-and intra-patient variations.The best response in 16 evaluable patients was assessed by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(RECIST),including 4 patients with partial response,10 patients with stable disease.The median progression-free survival(PFS) was 7.6 months.Conclusions: The combination of chidamide with exemestane was generally well tolerated with promising preliminary efficacy in HR+ ABC patients.The overall results from this study encourage further pivotal trial in this patient population.Qingyuan Zhang Tao Wang Cuizhi Geng Yue Zhang Jinwen Zhang Zhiqiang Ning Zefei Jiang 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,6:11

7MicroRNA-135a in ABCA1-labeled Exosome is a Serum Biomarker Candidate for Alzheimer’s Disease显示文摘Objective In the present study,the ABCA1 was used as a label to capture specific exosomes,the level of ABCA1-labeled exosomal microRNA-135 a(miR-135 a)was evaluated for the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease(AD),especially in patients with early stages of AD.Methods This is a preliminary research focused on the levels of ABCA1 in WBCs,RBCs,HT-22 cells,and neuron cells.The diagnostic value of ABCA1-labeled exosomal miR-135 a was examined using the CSF and serum of APP/PS1 double transgenic mice,and 152 patients with SCD,131 patients with MCI,198 patients with DAT,and 30 control subjects.Results The level of ABCA1 exosomes harvested from HT-22 cells and neuron culture medium was significantly higher compared to that of RBCs and WBCs(P<0.05).The levels of ABCA1-labeled exosomal miR-135 a increased in the CSF of MCI and DAT group compared to those of control group(P<0.05),slightly increased(P>0.05)in the serum of SCD patient group,and significantly increased in MCI and DAT patient groups compared to those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion This study outlines a method to capture specific exosomes and detect them using immunological methods,which is more efficient for early diagnosis of AD.LIU Chen Geng MENG Shuang LI Ying LU Yao ZHAO Yue WANG Pei Chang 2021Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,1:5
8Quality prediction of freshly-harvested wheat using Gluto Peak during postharvest maturation显示文摘Much recent researches have demonstrated that the quality of freshly-harvested wheat could be improved during postharvest maturation by determinating the rheological properties.However,this process is time-consuming and complex.This study aimed to provide a rapid and convenient method for predicting wheat quality during postharvest maturation by use of Gluto Peak device.Farinograph and Extensograph were used to determine the rheological properties of four wheat samples(WT1,WT2,WT3,WT4)stored under different conditions(WT1:15℃,50%RH;WT2:20℃65%RH;WT3:28℃75%RH;WT4:35℃85%RH)for a total of 10 weeks,and Gluto Peak test was used to determine the gluten aggregation properties of the four samples.Correlation analysis was also conducted between the rheological properties and the gluten aggregation properties.Results of rheological properties showed that all Extensographic properties(dough extensibility,resistance,maximum resistance and area)of the four samples increased along with the storage time,and the Farinographic properties(water absorption,dough development time,dough stability time,and farinograph quality number(FQN))had the same tendency,indicating that the rheological properties were improved considerably with storage time extending.The Gluto Peak curves revealed that Peak Maximum Time(PMT),Brabender Equivalents Maximum(BEM)and Energy to Maximum Torque(En MT)of wheat flour of the four samples varied greatly,particularly the PMT and En MT of the samples WT3 and WT4 increased remarkably.Results of correlation analysis showed that En MT had significant correlation with water absorption and area(P<0.05)for sample WT1,and also showed significant correlation with dough development time(P<0.05)for sample WT2.For sample WT3,PMT was significantly correlated with the dough development time,extensibility,area(P<0.05),and FQN(P<0.01);and En MT was in significant correction with water absorption(P<0.01),and dough stability time,FQN,extensibility,maximum resistance and area(P<0.05).For sample WT4,both PMT and En MT had significant correction with area(P<0.05).The study indicated that the Gluto Peak test is effective in quality prediction for the freshly-harvested wheat during postharvest maturation,making it possible to realize rapid wheat quality detection and evaluation in storage period.Mengyu Mu Ruidie Geng Yuanyuan Yue Feng Jia Xia Zhang Jinshui Wang 2021Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,4:5
9Effects of Pitavastatin on Lipoprotein Subfractions and Oxidized Low-density Lipoprotein in Patients with Atherosclerosis显示文摘It has been demonstrated that pitavastatin can significantly reduce low-density lipoprotein(LDL)cholesterol(LDL-C),but its impact on lipoprotein subfractions and oxidized low-density lipoprotein(oxLDL)has not been determined.The aim of the present study was to investigate the potential effects of pitavastatin on subfractions of LDL and high-density lipoprotein(HDL)as well as oxLDL in untreated patients with coronary atherosclerosis(AS).Thirty-six subjects were enrolled in this study.O f them,18 patients with AS were administered pitavastatin 2 mg/day for 8 weeks and 18 healthy subjects without therapy served as controls.The plasma lipid profile,lipoprotein subfractions and circulating oxLDL were determined at baseline and 8 weeks respectively.The results showed that pitavastatin treatment indeed not only decreased LDL-C,total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG)and apolipoprotein B(ApoB)levels,and increased HDL cholesterol(HDL-C),but also reduced the cholesterol concentration of all of the LDL subfractions and the percentage of intermediate and small LDL subfractions.Meanwhile,pitavastatin could decrease plasma oxLDL levels.Furthermore,a more close correlation was found between oxLDL and LDL-C as well as LDL subfractions after pitavastatin treatment.We concluded that a moderate dose of pitavastatin therapy not only decreases LDL-C and oxLDL concentrations but also improves LDL subfractions in patients with AS.Rui-xia XU Yan ZHANG Yue ZHANG Ya-ru WU Xiao-lin LI Yuan-lin GUO Geng LIU Qian DONG Jian-jun LI 2020Current Medical Science2020,40,5:4
10Effect of clear-cutting silviculture on soil respiration in a subtropical forest of China显示文摘Aims Clear-cutting is a common forest management practice,especially in subtropical China.However,the potential ecological consequences of clear-cutting remain unclear.In particular,the effect of clear-cutting on soil processes,such as the carbon cycle,has not been quantified in subtropical forests.Here,we investigated the response of soil respiration(Rs)to clear-cutting during a 12-month period in a subtropical forest in eastern China.Methods We randomly selected four clear-cut(CC)plots and four corresponding undisturbed forest(UF)plots.Measurements of Rs were made at monthly time points and were combined with continuous climatic measurements in both CC and UF.Daily Rs was estimated by interpolating data with an exponential model dependent on soil temperature.Daily Rs was cumulated to annual Rs estimates.Important Findings In the first year after clear-cutting,annual estimates of Rs in CC(508±23g C m^(−2) yr^(−1))showed no significant difference to UF plots(480±12g C m^(−2) yr^(−1)).During the summer,soil temperatures were usually higher,whereas the soil volumetric water content was lower in CC than in UF plots.The long-term effects of clear-cutting on Rs are not significant,although there might be effects during the first several months after clear-cutting.Compared with previous work,this pattern was more pronounced in our subtropical forest than in the temperate and boreal forests that have been studied by others.With aboveground residuals off-site after clear-cutting,our results indicate that the stimulation of increasing root debris,as well as environmental changes,will not lead to a significant increase in Rs.In addition,long-term Rs will not show a significant decrease from the termination of root respiration,and this observation might be because of the influence of fast-growing vegetation after clear-cutting in situ.Yinlei Ma Yan Geng Yuanyuan Huang Yue Shi Pascal A.Niklaus Bernhard Schmid Jin-Sheng He 2013Journal of Plant Ecology2013,6,5:4

12Active organic carbon pool of coniferous and broad-leaved forest soils in the mountainous areas of Beijing显示文摘In order to explore the effects of different forest types on active soil carbon pool, the amounts and density of soil organic carbon (SOC) were studied at different soil horizons under typical coniferous and broad-leaved forests in the mountainous area of Beijing. The results showed that the amount of total SOC, readily oxidizable carbon and particulate organic carbon decreased with increasing depths of soil horizons and the amounts at depths of 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm in broad-leaved forest was clearly higher than that in coniferous forests. The trend of a decrease in SOC density with increasing depth of the soil horizon was similar to that of the amount of SOC. However, no regular trend was found for SOC density at different depths between coniferous forest and broad-leaved forests. The ratio of readily oxidizable carbon to total amount of SOC ranged from 0.36-0.45 and the ratio of particulate organic carbon to total amount of SOC from 0.28-0.73; the ratios decreased with increasing depths of soil horizons. Active SOC was significantly correlated with total SOC; the relationship between readily oxidizable carbon and particulate organic carbon was sig- nificant. 13Four-year dynamic observation and study on standardized management of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes in Beijing Yongding Road Community显示文摘Purpose:This study aimed to understand the joint standard of blood glucose,blood li-pids,and blood pressure in elderly patients>60 years of age with type 2 diabetes in the Beijing Yongding Road Community.Methods:One hundred ninety-two elderly patients>60 years of age who were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in Yongding Road Community served as the investigation subjects,under-went standard management,and the dynamic changes in blood glucose,blood lipids,and blood pressure were monitored for 48 months.Results:At the end of the observation period,the standard rates of fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose were 72.55%and 80.00%,respectively,which were increased compared with 55.73%and 56.08%at baseline(P<0.01).The standard rate of HbA1c was 59.81%,which was increased compared with 53.44%at baseline(P>0.05).The standard rates of TG and LDL-C were 76.71%and 60.38%,respectively,which were increased compared with 54.69%and 34.74%at base-line,and the standard rate of HDL-C was 13.64%,which was decreased compared with 40.10%at baseline(P<0.01).The standard rate of BP was 58.33%,which was increased compared with 38.54%at baseline(P<0.01).The optimal control rate of blood glucose for 48 months(the standard times of the total measurement times in 48 months≥75%)was higher;the fasting blood glucose was 52.17%,the 2-h postprandial blood glucose was 60.22%,and the HbA1c was 46.45%.The optimal control rate of blood lipids was lower;LDL-C was 17.49%and HDL-C was 13.59%.The optimal control rate of BP was 9.13%.At the end of the observation period,the levels of fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose were decreased by 0.7 mmol/L and 1.48 mmol/L,respectively,compared with the base-line(P<0.01).The level of HbA1c was decreased by 0.18%compared with the baseline(P<0.05).The levels of LDL-C and HDL-C were decreased by 0.4 mmol/L and 0.23 mmol/L,respectively,compared with the baseline(P<0.01).The levels of SBP and DBP were decreased by 4 mmHg compared with the baseline(P<0.01).At the end of the observation period,the joint standard rate of the three indices of HbA1c,LDL-C,and BP was 24.72%,which was increased compared with 6.25%at baseline(P<0.01).Conclusion:Standardized management of elderly patients with diabetes in the Community can improve the joint standard rate of blood glucose,blood lipids,and blood pressure.The op-timal control rate and joint standard rate are the important indices for evaluating the quality of diabetes management.Yue Li Dongyun Shen Wei Zhang Yimin Wang Hongmei Li Jie Geng Liying Yang Zhijun Xiao Yan Liu Zhigang Feng Linying Cao Yan Jin Lixia Shi 2014Family Medicine and Community Health2014,2,2:4
14First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. 16Trending IC design directions in 2022显示文摘For the non-stop demands for a better and smarter society, the number of electronic devices keeps increasing exponentially;and the computation power, communication data rate, smart sensing capability and intelligence are always not enough. Hardware supports software, while the integrated circuit(IC) is the core of hardware. In this long review paper, we summarize and discuss recent trending IC design directions and challenges, and try to give the readers big/cool pictures on each selected small/hot topics. We divide the trends into the following six categories, namely, 1) machine learning and artificial intelligence(AI) chips, 2) communication ICs, 3) data converters, 4) power converters, 5) imagers and range sensors, 6) emerging directions. 17Directional migration of leukocytes: their pathological roles in inflammation and strategies for development of anti-inflammatory therapies显示文摘Directional migration of leukocytes is indispensable to innate immunity for host defense. However, recruitment of leukocytes to a site of tissue injury the constitutes a leading cause for inflammatory responses. Mechanistically, it involves a cascade of cellular events precisely regulated by temporal and spatial present tation of a repertoire of molecules in the migrating leukocytes and their surroundings (microenvironments). 19Surface strain-enhanced MoS_(2)as a high-performance cathode catalyst for lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)are one of the main candidates for the next generation of energy storage systems.To improve the performance of LSBs,we herein propose the use of strained MoS_(2)(s-MoS_(2))as a catalytically active sulfur host.The introduction of strain in the MoS_(2)surface,which alters its atomic positions and expands the S-Mo-S angle,shifts the d-band center closer to the Fermi level and provides the surface with abundant and highly active catalytic sites;these enhance the catalyst's ability to adsorb lithium polysulfides(LiPS),accelerating its catalytic conversion and promoting lithium-ion transferability.Strain is generated through the synthesis of core-shell nanoparticles,using different metal sulfides as strain-inducing cores.s-MoS_(2)nanoparticles are supported on carbon nanofibers(CNF/s-MoS_(2)),and the resulting electrodes are characterized by capacities of 1290 and 657 mAh g−1 at 0.2 and 5 C,respectively,with a 0.05%capacity decay rate per cycle at 8 C during 700 cycles.Overall,this work not only provides an ingenious and effective strategy to regulate LiPS adsorption and conversion through strain engineering,but also indicates a path toward the application of strain engineering in other energy storage and conversion fields.Chao Yue Zhang Chaoqi Zhang Jiang Long Pan Guo Wen Sun Zude Shi Canhuang Li Xingqi Chang Geng Zhi Sun Jin Yuan Zhou Andreu Cabot 2022eScience2022,2,4:3
