1Blood-letting punctures at twelve Jing-Well points of the hand can treat cerebral ischemia in a similar manner to mannitol显示文摘A rat model of middle cerebral artery permanent occlusion was established using the modified Longa method.Successfully established model animals were treated by blood-letting puncture at twelve Jing-Well points of the hand,and/or by injecting mannitol into the caudal vein twice daily.Brain tissue was collected at 24,48 and 72 hours after modeling,and blood was collected through the retinal vein before Evans blue was injected,approximately 1 hour prior to harvesting of brain tissue.Results showed that Evans blue leakage into brain tissue and serum nitric oxide synthase activity were significantly increased in model rats.Treatment with blood-letting punctures at twelve Jing-Well points of the hand and/or injection of mannitol into the caudal vein reduced the amount of Evans blue leakage into the brain tissue and serum nitric oxide synthase activity to varying degrees.There was no significant difference between single treatment and combined treatment.Experimental findings indicate that blood-letting punctures at twelve Jing-Well points of the hand can decrease blood-brain barrier permeability and serum nitric oxide synthase activity in rats following middle cerebral artery occlusion,and its effect is similar to that of mannitol injection alone and Jing-Well points plus mannitol injection.Xuan Lu Zelin Chen Yi Guo Liang Gao Liyuan Jiang Zhongzheng Li Jianqiao Fang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,6:14
2Serine metabolism orchestrates macrophage polarization by regulating the IGF1–p38 axis显示文摘Serine metabolism is reportedly involved in immune cell functions, but whether and how serine metabolism regulates macrophage polarization remain largely unknown. Here, we show that suppressing serine metabolism, either by inhibiting the activity of the key enzyme phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase in the serine biosynthesis pathway or by exogenous serine and glycine restriction, robustly enhances the polarization of interferon-γ-activated macrophages (M(IFN-γ)) but suppresses that of interleukin-4-activated macrophages (M(IL-4)) both in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, serine metabolism deficiency increases the expression of IGF1 by reducing the promoter abundance of S-adenosyl methionine-dependent histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation. IGF1 then activates the p38-dependent JAK–STAT1 axis to promote M(IFN-γ) polarization and suppress STAT6-mediated M(IL-4) activation. 3A model to assess fundamental and realized carrying capacities of island ecosystem:A case study in the southern Miaodao Archipelago of China显示文摘Research on carrying capacity, aiming at maintaining the limited ability of the Earth's life supporting system to sustain human development, requires a comprehensive and ecosystem-based approach to monitor and assess the localized sustainability of coupled social and ecological systems. A definition termed the ecosystem-based carrying capacity of island(EBCCI) was developed in this paper of which the indices of fundamental and realized carrying capacities of island(FCCI and RCCI) were highlighted to emphasize the inter-dependencies between social systems and ecological systems. In order to avoid the difficulties and uncertainties of direct assessment, the related assessment model was established on the basis of synthetic evaluation of inherent and external factors affecting the EBCCI. The southern Miaodao Archipelago(SMA) located in the intersection of the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea, China, was taken as a typical example to acquire integrated recognition of the island ecosystem and its carrying capacity so as to discuss its sustainable development. The index scores of FCCI and RCCI in the SMA were 0.818 5 and 0.712 9 out of 1.0, respectively, with acceptable uncertainties. The results showed a relatively well capacity to sustain progress and relatively well realization of the carrying capacity of island ecosystem, owing to a well capacity of ecologically regulating, general performance of both ecologically supporting and resource provisioning, and a relatively high level of social supporting system. The study implied that it was critical to optimize the inter-dependencies and to sustain the relative balance between social systems and ecological systems so as to improve the RCCI and further facilitate the sustainability of SMA. 4Sortilin promotes macrophage cholesterol accumulation and aortic atherosclerosis through lysosomal degradation of ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 protein显示文摘Sortilin is closely associated with hyperlipidemia and the risk of atherosclerosis(AS).The role of sortilin and the underlying mechanism in peripheral macrophage are not fully understood.In this study,we investigated the effect of macrophage sortilin on ATP-binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1)expression,ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux,and aortic AS.Macrophage sortilin expression was upregulated by oxidized low-density lipoproteins(ox-LDLs)in both concentration-and time-dependent manners.Its expression reached the peak level when cells were incubated with 50μg/ml ox-LDL for 24 h.Overexpression of sortilin in macrophage reduced cholesterol efflux,leading to an increase in intracellular total cholesterol,free cholesterol,and cholesterol ester.Sortilin was found to bind with ABCA1 protein and suppress macrophage ABCA1 expression,resulting in a decrease in cholesterol efflux from macrophages.The inhibitory effect of sortilin in cholesterol efflux was partially reversed by treatment with chloroquine,a lysosomal inhibitor.On the contrary,the ABCA1 protein level and ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux is increased by sortilin short hairpin RNA transfection.The fecal and biliary cholesterol 3H-sterol from cholesterol-laden mouse peritoneal macrophage was reduced by sortilin overexpression through lentivirus vector(LV)-sortilin in low-density lipoprotein receptor knockout mice,which was prevented by co-treatment with chloroquine.Treatment with LV-sortilin reduced plasma high-density lipoprotein and increased plasma ox-LDL levels.Accordingly,aortic lipid deposition and plaque area were exacerbated,and ABCA1 expression was reduced in mice in response to infection with LV-sortilin alone.These effects of LV-sortilin were partially reversed by chloroquine.Sortilin enhances lysosomal degradation of ABCA1 protein and suppresses ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux from macrophages,leading to foam cell formation and AS development.Yuncheng Lv Jing Yang Anbo Gao Sha Sun Xilong Zheng Xi Chen Wei Wan Chaoke Tang Wei Xie Suyun Li Dongming Guo Tianhong Peng Guojun Zhao Liyuan Zhong 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,5:4

6Stabilization of NCSs by random allocation of transmission power to sensors显示文摘This study investigates networked control systems(NCSs), whose sensors communicate with remote controllers via a wireless fading channel. The sensor can choose different power levels at which it can transmit its measurement to the controller. The transmission power is selected according to a given probability distribution.The level of transmission power determines the probability of packet loss. The objective of this study is to find an appropriate transmission power probability distribution and a system controller jointly such that NCSs can be exponentially stabilized within a given energy budget. By the average dwell time technique, sufficient conditions for almost sure stability and an optimal sensor power probability distribution maximizing the stability margin are obtained. 7GPP(composition of Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides and Polyporus umbellatus polysaccharides) protects against DSS-induced murine colitis by enhancing immune function and regulating intestinal flora显示文摘Previous study have demonstrated that a compound composed of water-soluable Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides(GLP)and Polyporus umbellatus polysaccharides(PUP)in a ratio of 3:1 named GPP enhances innate immune function in mice through enhancing the function of macrophage cells and activity of natural killer(NK)cells.Here in our research,we further investigated the effect of GPP on the diversity and composition of intestinal flora,and explored its effect on colitis model mice.The immunoregulatory verification experiments of GPP were conducted in both normal and DSS-induced mice model.Our research showed that GPP increased the diversity of intestinal microorganisms in mice with the extension of administration time.Daily GPP intake attenuated DSS-induced colon injury,protected the splenic lymphocyte proliferation ability,enhanced the serum hemolysin synthesis,and increased peripheral phagocytes and NK cell activity in model mice.Comparisons of the predominant gene pathways of the bacterial microbiota showed that DNA repair and recombination,base mismatch repair pathways was stronger in GPP-treatment group than in control group,indicating the possible molecular mechanisms of immune function regulation.Our study showed that GPP regulated immune function in both health and colitis model,and had a positive effect on maintaining intestinal flora homeostasis.Liyuan Li Yannan Guo Qing Huang Xiaojin Shi Qingqing Liu Fang Wang Qingfei Liu Kang Yu Zhao Wang 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,4:2

13Antioxidant,flavor profile and quality of wheat dough bread incorporated with kiwifruit fermented byβ-glucosidase producing lactic acid bacteria strains显示文摘This study aimed to investigate the effect of incorporation of kiwifruit substrate fermented by 3 highβ-glucosidase producing lactic acid bacteria(LAB)of Lactobacillus harbinensis(M12,M24)and Pediococcus pentosaceus(J28)on physicochemical and rheo-fermentation properties during proofing of wheat dough.Quality,sensory evaluation,antioxidant content and activity,and flavor profiles of bread was evaluated.Results revealed that LAB strains adequately adapted(J28>M12>M24)and produced enzymes during substrate fermentation.In dough,incorporation of fermented substrate increased acidity,soluble dietary fiber,β-glucosidase andα-amylase activity and gas retention during proofing,in a strain dependent manner(J28>M12>M24).The subsequent breads exhibited higher specific volume and had softer crumbs.Furthermore,total flavonoid,total phenolic,antioxidant activity,flavor content and intensity increased in breads incorporated with fermented substrate.Overall sensory acceptance was in order,bread containing substrates fermented by J28(KFB-J28)>M12(KFB-M12)>M24(KFB-M24)>wheat bread(WB)>bread containing unfermented substrate(KFB).Changes observed were attributed to biotransformation byβ-glucosidase which increasingly degraded dietary fibers into soluble dietary fiber,increased acidity,released glycosylated aroma compounds and phenolic compounds in substrate.When incorporated in dough,fermented kiwifruit substrates stabilized gluten network,increased yeast metabolism and gas retention during proofing.Subsequently,KFB-J28,KFB-M12,and KFB-M24 had higher antioxidant content and activity,higher flavor content and intensity,better quality and were more accepted compared to WB and KFB.This suggested the potential role played byβ-glucosidases through LAB fermentation on functionally enriching and adding value to kiwifruit substrate as a novel functional ingredient in bakery industry.Liting Liang Jacob Ojobi Omedi Weining Huang Jianxian Zheng Yongqing Zeng Jing Huang Binle Zhang Liyuan Zhou Ning Li Tiecheng Gao Ruijun Guo 2022Food Bioscience2022,46,2:0
14Flexible dopamine-sensing fiber based on potentiometric method for long-term detection in vivo显示文摘Achieving real-time,continuous and long-term monitoring of dopamine(DA)in vivo is essential for revealing brain functions and preventing and treating neurogenic diseases.However,it remains challenging to achieve a low limit of detection(LOD)and high neuron-compatibility at the same time for the current microsensors,resulting in the failure of long-term and accurate detection of DA in vivo.A DA-sensing fiber was achieved by the potentiometric method to possess a low LOD of 5 nM,1-3 orders of magnitude lower than amperometry and differential-pulse voltammetry.The sensing fiber showed a wide linear range from 5 to 185 nM that well matched the DA concentration(26-40 nM)in vivo.After implantation,the sensing fiber showed no influence on the firing rates of neurons with the potentiometric test,indicating high neuron-compatibility.It was then integrated with electrophysiology to simultaneously monitor DA variation and electrical signal in the brain,with stable monitoring of DA change in vivo for 8 weeks.The sensing fiber was flexible and stably worked after hundreds of bending,and it showed high sensitivity even after protein adsorption,thus offering a reliable tool for neuroscience.Liyuan Wang Jiawei Chen Jiajia Wang Hongjian Li Chuanrui Chen Jianyou Feng Yue Guo Hongbo Yu Xuemei Sun Huisheng Peng 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,10:0

16Effects of Sodium Nitroprussiate on the Metabolites and Key Enzyme Activities of Carbon-nitrogen Metabolism from Seed Germination to Seedling Period of Cherry Tomato显示文摘This study was conducted to elucidate the regulating mechanism of sodium nitroprussiate on seed germination and seedling growth of cherry tomato. After the treatment with different concentrations of sodium nitroprusside,the effects on the metabolites and key enzyme activities in carbon-nitrogen metabolism of cherry tomato cultivar Zhuyun as an experimental material were investigated. The results showed that from seed germination to seedling period,the contents of starch and total nitrogen decreased,but the contents of soluble sugar,reducing sugar,sucrose and soluble protein increased firstly and then decreased; and free amino acids content increased gradually. Sodium nitroprusside made the contents of starch,sucrose and free amino acids higher than CK. From seed germination to seedling period in cherry tomato,the activities of amylase,glutamine synthetase( GS) and sucrose phosphate synthase( SPS) decreased; the activities of nitrate reductase( NR) and glutamate synthase( GOGAT) increased at first and decreased then; and the CK and the 0. 25 mmol/L sodium nitroprusside treatments exhibited decreased sucrose synthase( SS) activity,and the trend was increasing at first and decreasing then after the treatment with 0. 50 and 1. 00 mmol/L sodium nitroprusside. Sodium nitroprusside treatment improved amylase activity; and the carbon-nitrogen ratio of the CK increased at first and decreased then,while the values of other treatments tended to decrease. In addition,sodium nitroprusside did not affect seed germination potential and germination rate,but significantly improved biomass accumulation,root length and height of seedlings. 17High-starchy carbohydrate diet aggravates NAFLD by increasing fatty acids influx mediated by NOX2显示文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a high-incidence lipid disorder that affects more than a quarter of the population worldwide,and dietary intervention is the recognized treatment.Starch is the main component of staple foods that are consumed daily,and the effects,metabolic pathway,and molecular mechanism of starch in the context of NAFLD remain unclear.Our study showed that a high-starch carbohydrate diet(HCD)led to the occurrence and exacerbation of NAFLD in mice.Transcriptomics and metabonomic analyses showed that the increased fatty acid influx mediated by NADPH oxidase 2(NOX2)exacerbated NAFLD.Knocking down NOX2 specifically alleviated HCD-induced NAFLD in vivo and in vitro.Moreover,the large amounts of ROS produced by NOX2 further exacerbated insulin resistance and increased lipolysis in perirenal white adipose tissue(periWAT),thereby providing fatty acids for hepatic lipid synthesis.In addition,the interaction between AMPKα1 and p47phox was the pathway that mediated the high expression of NOX2 induced by a HCD.Our study systematically demonstrated the effect of a HCD on NAFLD.Elevated fatty acid influx is a unique molecular regulatory pathway that mediates HCD-induced NAFLD exacerbation,which is different from the effect of simple sugars.Additionally,NOX2 was suggested to be a specific and effective drug target for NAFLD.Yuqi Gao Rui Hua Kezheng Peng Yuemiao Yin Chenye Zeng Yannan Guo Yida Wang Liyuan Li Xue Li Ying Qiu Zhao Wang 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,4:0
18Self-assembled interlayer aiming at the stability of NiOx based perovskite solar cells显示文摘Inorganic NiO_(x) based inverted structure perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is reported to be more stable than that with the organic hole transport materials.In this work,NiO_(x)/MAPbI_(3) interface chemical reaction induced instability of perovskite is unveiled:Ni^(3+) and I^(-) exhibit redox reactions and deprotonation of MA^(+) happens,which result in interface defects and perovskite lattice deformation.Thus the defective interface accelerates the degradation of perovskite by defect pathways from the bottom interface to the perovskite surface contacting H_(2)O/O_(2).Self-assembled interlayer of NH_(2)^(-)end silane on NiO_(x)separates the reactive NiO_(x)and MAPbI_(3),tunes the interface energy states by–NH_(2) end group.As a result,the PSC based on the silane treated NiO_(x)achieves enhanced PCE of 20.1%with decent stability under environmental and extreme conditions (high temperature,high humidity,light infiltration).Our work highlights the interface chemical problem induced PSC instability and a simple interface modification to achieve the stable PSCs.Tonghui Guo Zhi Fang Zequn Zhang Zhiqiang Deng Rui Zhao Jing Zhang Minghui Shang Xiaohui Liu Ziyang Hu Yuejin Zhu Liyuan Han 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,6:0
19Two‑Dimensional Cr_(5)Te_(8)@Graphite Heterostructure for Efficient Electromagnetic Microwave Absorption显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)transition metal chalcogenides(TMCs)hold great promise as novel microwave absorption materials owing to their interlayer interactions and unique magnetoelectric properties.However,overcoming the impedance mismatch at the low loading is still a challenge for TMCs due to the restricted loss pathways caused by their high-density characteristic.Here,an interface engineering based on the heterostructure of 2D Cr_(5)Te_(8) and graphite is in situ constructed via a one-step chemical vapor deposit to modulate impedance matching and introduce multiple attenuation mechanisms.Intriguingly,the Cr_(5)Te_(8)@EG(ECT)heterostructure exhibits a minimum reflection loss of up to−57.6 dB at 15.4 GHz with a thin thickness of only 1.4 mm under a low filling rate of 10%.The density functional theory calculations confirm that the splendid performance of ECT heterostructure primarily derives from charge redistribution at the abundant intimate interfaces,thereby reinforcing interfacial polarization loss.Furthermore,the ECT coating displays a remarkable radar cross section reduction of 31.9 dB m^(2),demonstrating a great radar microwave scattering ability.This work sheds light on the interfacial coupled stimulus response mechanism of TMC-based heterogeneous structures and provides a feasible strategy to manipulate high-quality TMCs for excellent microwave absorbers.Liyuan Qin Ziyang Guo Shuai Zhao Denan Kong Wei Jiang Ruibin Liu Xijuan Lv Jiadong Zhou Qinghai Shu 2024Nano-Micro Letters2024,16,3:0
20Dihydroartemisinin increased the abundance of Akkermansia muciniphila by YAP1 depression that sensitizes hepatocellular carcinoma to anti-PD-1 immunotherapy显示文摘The effect of anti-programmed cell death 1(anti-PD-1)immunotherapy is limited in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Yes-associated protein 1(YAP1)expression increased in liver tumor cells in early HCC,and Akkermansia muciniphila abundance decreased in the colon.The response to anti-PD-1 treatment is associated with A.muciniphila abundance in many tumors.However,the interaction between A.muciniphila abundance and YAP1 expression remains unclear in HCC.Here,anti-PD-1 treatment decreased A.muciniphila abundance in the colon,but increased YAP1 expression in the tumor cells by mice with liver tumors in situ.Mechanistically,hepatocyte-specific Yap1 knockout(Yap1^(LKO))maintained bile acid homeostasis in the liver,resulting in an increased abundance of A.muciniphila in the colon.Yap1 knockout enhanced anti-PD-1 efficacy.Therefore,YAP1 inhibition is a potential target for increasing A.muciniphila abundance to promote anti-PD-1 efficacy in liver tumors.Dihydroartemisinin(DHA),acting as YAP1 inhibitor,increased A.muciniphila abundance to sensitize anti-PD-1 therapy.A.muciniphila by gavage increased the number and activation of CD8^(+)T cells in liver tumor niches during DHA treatment or combination with anti-PD-1.Our findings suggested that the combination anti-PD-1 with DHA is an effective strategy for liver tumor treatment.Zhiqin Zhang Xinli Shi Jingmin Ji Yinglin Guo Qing Peng Liyuan Hao Yu Xue Yiwei Liu Caige Li Junlan Lu Kun Yu 2023Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,4:0
