| 1 | Fate of PM2.5-bound PAHs in Xiangyang, central China during 2018 Chinese spring festival: Influence of fireworks burning and air-mass transport显示文摘Variations of levels,possible source and air mass transmission were investigated for 16 USEPA priority-controlled PAHs in PM2.5 during 2018 Chinese Spring Festival(CSF)in Xiangyang City,central China which is the North-South pollutant airmass transport channel of China.Totally 37 samples were collected.Mass concentrations of 16 PAHs for the Pre–CSF day(Pre–CSFD),during the CSF day(CSFD)and after the CSF day(Af–CSFD)are 33.78±17.68 ng/m3,22.98±6.49 ng/m3,and 8.99±4.44 ng/m3,respectively.High resolution samples showed that 16 PAHs are higher in the morning(06:00–11:00)or afternoon(11:30–16:30),than those in the evening(17:00–22:00)and at night(22:30–05:30),whereas the result is reversed during the CSFD.Fireworks burning can obviously increase the mass concentration of PAHs.Air mass trajectory indicated that Xiangyang is a sink area of pollutants for northwest and southeast,and the sources of the northeast and southwest.The air mass only can be transmitted out through northeast and southwest.It is effective for improvement of air quality in Wuhan and Hunan to control fireworks emission in Henan and local areas.Fireworks burning was an important source for PAHs during CSFD,biomass,coal combustion,and traffic emission were the main sources of PAHs for Pre–CSFD and Af–CSFD periods.The health risk on the CSFD was higher than the acceptable levels,especially during the intensive fireworks burning,the risk value far exceed 1.0×10^-4,controlling burning fireworks is required. | Tianpeng Hu Yao Mao Weijie Liu Cheng Cheng Mingming Shi Zhanle Chen Qian Tian Jiaquan Zhang Shihua Qi Xinli Xing | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,11: | 6 |

| 3 | Biodegradable metals for bone defect repair:A systematic review and meta-analysis based on animal studies显示文摘Biodegradable metals are promising candidates for bone defect repair.With an evidence-based approach,this study investigated and analyzed the performance and degradation properties of biodegradable metals in animal models for bone defect repair to explore their potential clinical translation.Animal studies on bone defect repair with biodegradable metals in comparison with other traditional biomaterials were reviewed.Data was carefully collected after identification of population,intervention,comparison,outcome,and study design(PICOS),and following the inclusion criteria of biodegradable metals in animal studies.30 publications on pure Mg,Mg alloys,pure Zn and Zn alloys were finally included after extraction from a collected database of 2543 publications.A qualitative systematic review and a quantitative meta-analysis were performed.Given the heterogeneity in animal model,anatomical site and critical size defect(CSD),biodegradable metals exhibited mixed effects on bone defect repair and degradation in animal studies in comparison with traditional non-degradable metals,biodegradable polymers,bioceramics,and autogenous bone grafts.The results indicated that there were limitations in the experimental design of the included studies,and quality of the evidence presented by the studies was very low.To enhance clinical translation of biodegradable metals,evidence-based research with data validity is needed.Future studies should adopt standardized experimental protocols in investigating the effects of biodegradable metals on bone defect repair with animal models. | Jiazhen Zhang Yanbiao Jiang Zhizhong Shang Bing Zhao Mingyue Jiao Wenbo Liu Maobo Cheng Bao Zhai Yajuan Guo Bin Liu Xinli Shi Bin Ma | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,11: | 5 |
| 4 | CPSO-XGBoost segmented regression model for asphalt pavement deflection basin area prediction显示文摘The use of non-destructive testing(NDT) equipment, such as the falling weight deflectometer(FWD), provides important estimates of road health and helps to optimize road management regimes. However, periodic road testing and post-processing of the collected data are cumbersome and require much expertise, a considerable amount of time, money, and other resources. This study attempts to develop a reliable prediction method for estimating the deflection basin area of different asphalt pavements using road temperature, load time, and load pressure as main characteristics. The data are obtained from 19 kinds of asphalt pavements on a 2.038-km-long full-scale fleld accelerated pavement testing track named RIOHTrack(Research Institute of Highway Track) in Tongzhou, Beijing. In addition, a chaotic particle swarm algorithm(CPSO) and a segmented regression strategy are proposed in this paper to optimize the XGBoost model. The experiment results of the proposed method are compared with those of classical machine learning algorithms and achieve an average of mean square error and mean absolute error respectively by 5.80 and 1.59.The experiments demonstrate the superiority of the XGBoost algorithm over classical machine learning methods in dealing with nonlinear problems in road engineering. | 6 | Efficacy and safety of Sancai powder in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety of Sancai powder in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) inadequately controlled with single oral metformin in a randomized controlled trial(RCT).METHODS: A total of 132 patients with T2 DM were enrolled in the study, who only took metformin(500-1000 mg/day) for at least three months and with inadequate glycemic control(7.0% ≤ hemoglobin A1 c ≤ 9.0%) in the past three months.The patients stopped taking metformin with lifestyle interventions for three weeks, and 105 patients qualified for the program. They were randomly divided into the Sancai powder group and the metformin group(1500 mg/day). The follow-up period was for 12 weeks. Comparisons of several variables were analyzed.RESULTS: No significant differences were found between the two groups in hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1c),fasting plasma glucose(FPG) and 2 h post-meal glucose(2h PG), although they had decreased significantly(P < 0.01). Homeostasis model assessment of beta cell function index was significantly improved in Sancai powder group(P < 0.01), and there were significant differences in the changes of homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity index in the two groups(P < 0.05). | 9 | Highly selective adsorption of light hydrocarbons in a HKUST-like MOF constructed from spirobifluorene-based octacarboxylate ligand by a substitution strategy显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)with HKUST-like tbo structures have been paid specific attention for gas sorption and separation because of their specific pore features.According to the geometric similarity of spirobifluorene and[Cu_(2)(O_(2)CR)_(4)]paddlewheel secondary building units(Cu_(2)SBUs)in HKUST-1,we attempted to rationally construct a HKUST-like MOF by a substitution strategy.Using a judiciously designed octatopic carboxylate ligand,a copper-organic framework,JUC-220,was synthesized.The crystals of JUC-220 exhibited characteristic features in cubic with disorder,possibly due to the disorder substitution and high symmetry of tbo topology.Two related HKUST-like structure models were considered.Thanks to the suitable pore size and specific pore shapes,the adsorption selectivities of JUC-220 for C_(3)H_(8)/CH_(4)(5/85)and C_(2)H_(6)/CH_(4)(10/85)gas mixtures were as high as 736 and 46 respectively at 298 K and 1 bar.Specially,JUC-220 exhibited excellent trace adsorption performance of C_(3)H_(8)and C_(2)H_(6)as well as reverse adsorption behavior of C_(2)H_(6)/C_(2)H_(4).Thus,JUC-220 serves as an example of HKUST-like MOF with disorder for light hydrocarbons separation and the implementation of substitution which can be used to explore more porous MOFs. | Xinli Shi Yucong Zu Xilin Li Tongyi Zhao Hao Ren Fuxing Sun | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 1 |

Here, we propose a complex network approach to the evaluation of longitudinal asphalt pavement performances in the Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport track(RIOHTrack). We add to the growing field in which network approaches are employed and indicate the profound application in understanding pavement structures.Specifically, similar and disparate pavement performances are revealed regardless of their predefined design and construction categories. Evidence shows that short-term pavement performance depends on the strength of the subbase structure, whereas long-term performance relies on the thickness of the asphalt layer. | 13 | Barley FASCIATED EAR genes determine inflorescence meristem size and yield traits显示文摘In flowering plants,the inflorescence meristem(IM)provides founder cells to form successive floral meristems,which are precursors of fruits and seeds.The activity and developmental progression of IM are thus critical for yield production in seed crops.In some cereals,such as rice(Oryza sativa)and maize(Zea mays),the size of undifferentiated IM,which is located at the inflorescence apex,is positively associated with yield traits such as spikelet number.However,the relationship between IM size and yieldrelated spike traits remains unknown in the Triticeae tribe.Here we report that IM size has a negative correlation with yield traits in barley(Hordeum vulgare).Three FASCIATED EAR(FEA)orthologs,HvFEA2,HvFEA3,and HvFEA4,regulate IM size and spike morphogenesis and ultimately affect yield traits.Three HvFEAs genes are highly expressed in developing spikes,and all three loss-of-function mutants exhibit enlarged IM size,shortened spikes,and reduced spikelet number,which may lead to reduced grain yield.Natural variations identified in HvFEAs indicate selection events during barley domestication.We further reveal that HvFEA4,as a transcription factor,potentially targets multiple pathways during reproductive development,including transcriptional control,phytohormone signaling,and redox status.The roles of barley FEA genes in limiting IM size and promoting spikelet formation suggest the potential of increasing yield by manipulating IM activity. | Chengyu Wang Xiujunan Yang Yueya Zhang Chaoqun Shen Jin Shi Chongjing Xia Taohong Fang Qiang Tu Ling Li Xinli Zhou Dabing Zhang Gang Li | 2023 | The Crop Journal2023,11,3: | 0 |

| 16 | A Data-Driven Rutting Depth Short-Time Prediction Model With Metaheuristic Optimization for Asphalt Pavements Based on RIOHTrack显示文摘Rutting of asphalt pavements is a crucial design criterion in various pavement design guides. A good road transportation base can provide security for the transportation of oil and gas in road transportation. This study attempts to develop a robust artificial intelligence model to estimate different asphalt pavements’ rutting depth clips, temperature, and load axes as primary characteristics. The experiment data were obtained from19 asphalt pavements with different crude oil sources on a 2.038km long full-scale field accelerated pavement test track(Road Track Institute, RIOHTrack) in Tongzhou, Beijing. In addition,this paper also proposes to build complex networks with different pavement rutting depths through complex network methods and the Louvain algorithm for community detection. The most critical structural elements can be selected from different asphalt pavement rutting data, and similar structural elements can be found. An extreme learning machine algorithm with residual correction(RELM) is designed and optimized using an independent adaptive particle swarm algorithm. The experimental results of the proposed method are compared with several classical machine learning algorithms, with predictions of average root mean squared error(MSE), average mean absolute error(MAE), and a verage mean absolute percentage error(MAPE) for 19 asphalt pavements reaching 1.742, 1.363, and 1.94% respectively. The experiments demonstrate that the RELM algorithm has an advantage over classical machine learning methods in dealing with non-linear problems in road engineering. Notably, the method ensures the adaptation of the simulated environment to different levels of abstraction through the cognitive analysis of the production environment parameters.
