1Accumulation and speciation of selenium in Cardamine sp. in Yutangba Se Mining Field, Enshi, China显示文摘A naturally selenium-accumulating Cardamine sp. is growing in Yutangba Selenium Mining Field, Enshi area, Hubei Province, China, where the geochemical environment is selenium-enriched and endemic selenosis ever occurred in humans. The present study investigated the characteristics of accumulation, speciation and quantity of selenium in Cardamine sp. with HPLC-ICP-MS. Results show that Cardamine sp. can accumulate Se at most 1427 mg/kg in seedling leaves. Even after the biomass incensement of growing up, the plant still could accumulate Se up to several hundred of mg/kg in concentration. Moreover, the biomass enrichment coefficient(BEC) of Se is exceedingly high, in the seedling leaves mostly, higher than 50 mg/kg; in the range of 43.7–68 mg/kg; and the lowest value is higher than 3 mg/kg in mature fronds. Se is present in the plant predominantly in form of Se Cys2 with the highest concentration in seeds; up to 1081 mg/kg as Se. In contrast, Se Cys2 levels are low during early growth period; they are 136.1 mg/kg as Se in seedling fronds and 39.4 mg/kg as Se in mature fronds, respectively. Se Met concentration is comparatively low; 10.6 mg/kg as Se in seedling frond and 5.3 mg/kg as Se in half mature fronds, respectively. This indicates that Cardamine sp. is extremely efficient in extracting Se from soil and translocating it into its above-ground biomass. Therefore, Cardamine sp., found in Yutangba Se Mining Field may be a new Se hyperaccumulator. It is still uncertain whether the Se-accumulation or detoxification of Cardamine sp. happens through the pathway of Se Cys methylated to form Se-methylseleno Cys or through the formation of Se-carboxymethyl- selenohomocysteine. 2LeCDJ1,a chloroplast DnaJ protein,facilitates heat tolerance in transgenic tomatoes显示文摘The roles of a tomato(Lycopersicon esculentum) chloroplast-targeted DnaJ protein(LeCDJ1) were investigated using wild-type(WT) and sense transgenic tomatoes. The LeCDJ1 expression was upregulated by 38 °C, 42 °C, 45 °C, NaCl, PEG, methyl viologen(MV) and hydrogen peroxide(H2 O2), but not by 30 °C and 35 °C. Meanwhile, LeCDJ1 was involved in the response of plants to abscisic acid(ABA). Under heat stress, the sense plants showed better growth, higher chlorophyll content, lower malondialdehyde(MDA) accumulation and relative electrical conductivity(REC), and also less PSII photoinhibition than WT. Interestingly, the sense plants treated with streptomycin(SM), an inhibitor of organellar translation, still showed higher maximum photochemistry efficiency of PSII(Fv/Fm) and D1 protein levels than the SM-untreated WT, suggesting that the protective effect of LeCDJ1 on PSII was, at least partially, independent of D1protein synthesis. Furthermore, the relatively lower superoxide radical(O2·-) and H2 O2 levels in the sense plants were considered to be due to the higher ascorbate peroxidase(APX) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity, which seemed unlikely dependent on their transcription level. 10Spectral properties and Judd-Ofelt analysis of novel red phosphors Gd_(2)InSbO_(7):Eu^(3+)with high color purity for white LEDs显示文摘Gd_(2)InSbO_(7):Eu^(3+)red phosphors we re successfully synthesized via high-temperature solid-state reactio n.The phase purity,particle size,and luminescence properties of obtained phosphors were measured and analyzed in detail.The Gd_(2)InSbO_(7)lattice possesses cubic structure with F_(d-3 m)(227)space group.The phosphors emit bright red emission at 628 nm under 393 nm excitation,and this phenomenon is attributed to the^(5)D0-^(7)F_(2)transition.The Judd-Ofelt parameters(Ω_(2),Ω_(4)),transition ratio,and branching ratios(β)of Eu^(3+)-doped Gd_(2)InSbO_(7)phosphor were calculated on the basis of the emission spectra and decay lifetimes.The optimal content in Gd_(2)InSbO_(7):xEu^(3+)is identified to be 15 mol%.The thermal quenching of Gd_(2)InSbO_(7):Eu^(3+)is found to be over 500 K,and its activation energy is 0.26 eV.The Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage(CIE)chromaticity coordinates of Gd_(2)InSbO_(7):15%Eu^(3+)are(0.629,0.371),which are close to ideal red chromaticity coordinates(0.670,0.330).The fabricated w-LED exhibits good color rendering index(Ra)(86),correlated color temperature(CCT)(6997 K),and CIE chromaticity coordinates(0.302,0.330).The obtained results demonstrate that Gd_(2)InSbO_(7):Eu^(3+)phosphors have potential applications in white LEDs.Yu Wang Baokui Zhao Bin Deng Shanshan Chen Yuanyuan Liu a Guodong Wang Ruijin Yu 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,11:1

12The common developmental road: tensions among centripetal and centrifugal dynamics显示文摘Western thought since the Enlightenment has been predominantly linear in scope, while Eastern philosophy has focused mostly on the cyclical. Recent advances in complex systems, however, have highlighted the importance of cycles in nature, thereby opening an avenue for new common endeavors. This analysis centers on the role of autocatalytic loops and addresses the evolutionary relationship between competition and cooperation. It posits an evolutionary chain running from individual competition, to individual cooperation, to collective competition, to deep cooperation. We identify the centripetality that is consequent to autocatalysis and define three types of centrifugalities. Development is defined in the context of the tension between these opposing directions. Finally, we propose an evolutionary process consisting of four stages:(i) autognosis,(ii) autocatalytic loop formation,(iii) self-control and(iv) self-realization(sensu Taoism). 14Proximal and remote sensing in plant phenomics: 20 years of progress, challenges, and perspectives显示文摘Plant phenomics(PP)has been recognized as a bottleneck in studying the interactions of genomics and environment on plants,limiting the progress of smart breeding and precise cultivation.High-throughput plant phenotyping is challenging owing to the spatio-temporal dynamics of traits.Proximal and remote sensing(PRS)techniques are increasingly used for plant phenotyping because of their advantages in multi-dimensional data acquisition and analysis.Substantial progress of PRS applications in PP has been observed over the last two decades and is analyzed here from an interdisciplinary perspective based on 2972 publications.This progress covers most aspects of PRS application in PP,including patterns of global spatial distribution and temporal dynamics,specific PRS technologies,phenotypic research fields,working environments,species,and traits.Subsequently,we demonstrate how to link PRS to multi-omics studies,including how to achieve multi-dimensional PRS data acquisition and processing,how to systematically integrate all kinds of phenotypic information and derive phenotypic knowledge with biological significance,and how to link PP to multi-omics association analysis.Finally,we identify three future perspectives for PRS-based PP:(1)strengthening the spatial and temporal consistency of PRS data,(2)exploring novel phenotypic traits,and(3)facilitating multi-omics communication.Haiyu Tao Shan Xu Yongchao Tian Zhaofeng Li Yan Ge Jiaoping Zhang Yu Wang Guodong Zhou Xiong Deng Ze Zhang Yanfeng Ding Dong Jiang Qinghua Guo Shichao Jin 2022Plant Communications2022,3,6:1
15Speech Intelligibility Enhancement Algorithm Based on Multi-Resolution Power-Normalized Cepstral Coefficients(MRPNCC)for Digital Hearing Aids显示文摘Speech intelligibility enhancement in noisy environments is still one of the major challenges for hearing impaired in everyday life.Recently,Machine-learning based approaches to speech enhancement have shown great promise for improving speech intelligibility.Two key issues of these approaches are acoustic features extracted from noisy signals and classifiers used for supervised learning.In this paper,features are focused.Multi-resolution power-normalized cepstral coefficients(MRPNCC)are proposed as a new feature to enhance the speech intelligibility for hearing impaired.The new feature is constructed by combining four cepstrum at different time–frequency(T–F)resolutions in order to capture both the local and contextual information.MRPNCC vectors and binary masking labels calculated by signals passed through gammatone filterbank are used to train support vector machine(SVM)classifier,which aim to identify the binary masking values of the T–F units in the enhancement stage.The enhanced speech is synthesized by using the estimated masking values and wiener filtered T–F unit.Objective experimental results demonstrate that the proposed feature is superior to other comparing features in terms of HIT-FA,STOI,HASPI and PESQ,and that the proposed algorithm not only improves speech intelligibility but also improves speech quality slightly.Subjective tests validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for hearing impaired.Xia Wang Xing Deng Hongming Shen Guodong Zhang Shibing Zhang 2021Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,2:0

17Adverse effects of triclosan on kidney in mice: Implication of lipid metabolism disorders显示文摘Triclosan(TCS)is a ubiquitous antimicrobial used in daily consumer products.Previous reports have shown that TCS could induce hepatotoxicity,endocrine disruption,disturbance on immune function and impaired thyroid function.Kidney is critical in the elimination of toxins,while the effects of TCS on kidney have not yet been well-characterized.The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of TCS exposure on kidney function and the possible underlying mechanisms in mice.Male C57BL/6 mice were orally exposed to TCS with the doses of 10 and 100 mg/(kg•day)for 13 weeks.TCS was dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO)and diluted by corn oil for exposure.Corn oil containing DMSO was used as vehicle control.Serum and kidney tissues were collected for study.Biomarkers associated with kidney function,oxidative stress,inflammation and fibrosis were assessed.Our results showed that TCS could cause renal injury as was revealed by increased levels of renal function markers including serum creatinine,urea nitrogen and uric acid,as well as increased oxidative stress,pro-inflammatory cytokines and fibroticmarkers in a dose dependent manner,whichweremore significantly in 100 mg/(kg•day)group.Mass spectrometry-based analysis of metabolites relatedwith lipid metabolism demonstrated the occurrence of lipid accumulation and defective fatty acid oxidation in 100 mg/(kg•day)TCS-exposed mouse kidney.These processes might lead to lipotoxicity and energy depletion,thus resulting in kidney fibrosis and functional decline.Taken together,the present study demonstrated that TCS could induce lipid accumulation and fatty acid metabolism disturbance in mouse kidney,whichmight contribute to renal function impairment.The present study further widens our insights into the adverse effects of TCS.Wei Huang Guodong Cao Chengliang Deng Yanyan Chen Tao Wang Da Chen Zongwei Cai 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2:0
