| 1 | Standard pancreatoduodenectomy versus extended pancreatoduodenectomy with modified retroperitoneal nerve resection in patients with pancreatic head cancer:a multicenter randomized controlled trial显示文摘Background:The extent of pancreatoduodenectomy for pancreatic head cancer remains controversial,and more high-level clinical evidence is needed.This study aimed to evaluate the outcome of extended pancreatoduodenectomy(EPD)with retroperitoneal nerve resection in pancreatic head cancer.Methods:This multicenter randomized trial was performed at 6 Chinese highvolume hospitals that enrolled patients between October 3,2012,and September 21,2017.Four hundred patients with stage I or II pancreatic head cancer and without specific pancreatic cancer treatments(preoperative chemotherapy or chemoradiation)within three months were randomly assigned to undergo standard pancreatoduodenectomy(SPD)or EPD,with the latter followed by dissection of additional lymph nodes(LNs),nerves and soft tissues 270◦on the right side surrounding the superior mesenteric artery and celiac axis.The primary endpoint was overall survival(OS)by intention-to-treat(ITT).The secondary endpoints were disease-free survival(DFS),mortality,morbidity,and postoperative pain intensity.Results:TheR1 ratewas slightly lower with EPD(8.46%)thanwith SPD(12.56%).The morbidity and mortality rates were similar between the two groups.The median OS was similar in the EPD and SPD groups by ITT in the whole study cohort(23.0 vs.20.2 months,P=0.100),while the median DFS was superior in the EPD group(16.1 vs.13.2 months,P=0.031).Patients with preoperative CA19–9<200.0 U/mL had significantly improved OS and DFS with EPD(EPD vs.SPD,30.8 vs.20.9 months,P=0.009;23.4 vs.13.5 months,P<0.001).The EPD group exhibited significantly lower locoregional(16.48%vs.35.20%,P<0.001)andmesenteric LNrecurrence rates(3.98%vs.10.06%,P=0.022).The EPD group exhibited less back pain 6 months postoperation than the SPD group.Conclusions:EPD for pancreatic head cancer did not significantly improve OS,but patients with EPD treatment had significantly improved DFS.In the subgroup analysis,improvements in bothOS and DFS in the EPD armwere observed in patients with preoperative CA19–9<200.0 U/mL.EPD could be used as an effective surgical procedure for patients with pancreatic head cancer,especially those with preoperative CA19–9<200.0 U/mL. | Qing Lin Shangyou Zheng Xianjun Yu Meifu Chen Yu Zhou Quanbo Zhou Chonghui Hu Jing Gu Zhongdong Xu LinWang Yimin Liu Qingyu Liu MinWang Guolin Li He Cheng Dongkai Zhou Guodong Liu Zhiqiang Fu Yu Long Yixiong Li Weilin Wang Renyi Qin Zhihua Li Rufu Chen | 2023 | Cancer Communications2023,43,2: | 3 |

| 3 | Effects of iron(hydr)oxides on the degradation of diethyl phthalate ester in heterogeneous(photo)-Fenton reactions显示文摘This work studied the structural effects of hematite(α-Fe2 O3), 2-line ferrihydrite(HFO) and goethite(α-FeOOH) on diethyl phthalate ester(DEP) degradation. The results showed that the degradation of DEP was faster under 365 nm light irradiation than in the dark in the presence of iron(hydr)oxides. The apparent kinetic rates of DEP degradation followed the order HFO > goethite ≈ hematite in the dark and HFO > hematite > goethite under 365 nm light irradiation. Two pathways governed H2 O2 decomposition efficiency on iron(hydr)oxide surfaces:(1) forming UOH on inherent surface hydroxyl groups(Fe-OH) and(2) producing O2 and H2 O on the surface oxygen vacancies. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses indicated that HFO not only has high Fe-OH content but also has high Vo content, resulting in its low H2 O2 utilization efficiency(η). DEP was degraded through hydrogen abstraction and deesterification, and the major products were(OH)2-DEP, mono-ethyl phthalate(MEP), OH-MEP,and phthalate acid(PA). | 4 | Cooling effect of ballast revetment on the roadbed of Qinghai-Tibetan Railway显示文摘The data obtained through the roadbed surface thermal regime experiment (ROBSTREX), which was carried out at Beiluhe test section of Qinghai-Tibetan Railway from October to December in 2002, were used to estimate the cooling effect of ballast revetment on the roadbed. The results show that both riprap rock ballast revetment and crushed stone ballast revetment can reduce the temperature of the roadbed. But the cooling effect of riprap rock ballast revetment is better than that of crushed stone ballast revetment when the temperature of roadbed is higher. The cooling effect of crushed stone ballast revetment is better than that of riprap rock ballast revetment when the temperature of the roadbed is lower, especially at deeper roadbed layers. | 7 | Predicting hiCE inhibitors based upon pharmacophore models derived from the receptor and its ligands显示文摘Human intestinal carboxyl esterase(hiCE)is a drug target for ameliorating irinotecan-induced diarrhea.By reducing irinotecaninduced diarrhea,hiCE inhibitors can improve the anti-cancer efficacy of irinotecan.To find effective hiCE inhibitors,a new virtual screening protocol that combines pharmacophore models derived from the hiCE structure and its ligands has been proposed.The hiCE structure has been constructed through homology techniques using hCES1’s crystal structure.The hiCE structure was optimized via molecular dynamics simulations with the most known active hiCE inhibitors docked into the structure.An optimized pharmacophore,derived from the receptor,was then generated.A ligand-based pharmacophore was also generated from a larger set of known hiCE inhibitors.The final hiCE inhibitor predictions were based upon the virtual screening hits from both ligand-based and receptor-based pharmacophore models.The hit rates from the ligand-based and receptor-based pharmacophore models are 88% and 86%,respectively.The final hit rate is 94%.The two models are highly consistent with one another(85%).This proves that both models are reliable. | ZHANG GuoDong GE Hu GU Qiong XU Jun | 2013 | Science China Chemistry2013,56,10: | 1 |

| 15 | In situ carrier tuning in high temperature superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O(8+δ)by potassium deposition显示文摘We report a successful tuning of the hole doping level over a wide range in high temperature superconductor Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_(8+δ)(Bi2212) through successive in situ potassium(K) deposition. By taking high resolution angleresolved photoemission measurements on the Fermi surface and band structure of an overdoped Bi2212(T_c= 76 K) at different stages of K deposition, we found that the area of the hole-like Fermi surface around the Brillouin zone corner(p,p) shrinks with increasing K deposition. This indicates a continuous hole concentration change from initial 0.26 to eventual 0.09 after extensive K deposition, a net doping level change of 0.17 that makes it possible to bring Bi2212 from being originally overdoped, to optimally-doped, and eventually becoming heavily underdoped. The electronic behaviors with K deposition are consistent with those of Bi2212 samples with different hole doping levels. These results demonstrate that K deposition is an effective way of in situ controlling the hole concentration in Bi2212. | 20 | Effects of Dietary Betaine on Production Perform-ance,Egg Quality and Serum Biochemical Indexes of Layers under Heat Stress Condition显示文摘[Objective]This experiment was conducted to study the effects of dietary betaine on performance,egg quality and serum biochemical parameters of laying hens under heat stress condition. [Method]A total of 600 22-week-old commercial Roman laying hens were randomly divided into five groups,with eight replicates in each group and 15 hens in each replicate. Group I was taken as the positive control group,and laying hens in group I were fed with basal diets in normal thermal environment. Temperature humidity index of group I was between 64. 9 and 68. 9. Group II was taken as the negative control group,and laying hens in group II were fed with basal diets under heat stress condition. Temperature humidity index of group II was higher than 72. Laying hens in groups III-V were fed with basal diets supplemented with 200,400 and 600 mg/kg betaine under heat stress condition respectively,and temperature humidity indexes in groups III-V were all higher than 72. The experiment lasted for 14 weeks. [Results]Results showed that there were no significant differences in average daily feed intake,feed egg ratio and broken egg rate among different test groups( P > 0. 05). Hen-housed laying rate,hen-housed egg yield,serum total protein( TP) content and serum alkaline phosphatase( AKP) activity in group II were significantly lower than those in group I( P < 0. 05). However,activities of glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase( GOT),creatine kinase( CK) and glutamic-pyruvic transaminase( GPT) in group II were significantly higher than those in group I( P < 0. 05). Hen-housed laying rate,hen-housed egg yield and serum TP content in group IV were significantly higher than those in group II( P < 0. 05). Hen-housed egg yield,serum TP content and serum albumin( ALB) content in group V were significantly higher than those in group II( P < 0. 05). Activities of serum CK and GPT in groups IV and V were significantly lower than those in group II( P < 0. 05),serum triglyceride( TG) content in group V was significantly lower than that in group II( P < 0. 05).[Conclusion]Metabolism and physiological function of laying hens could be affected by heat stress,and which caused a decline in performance. Adding of dietary betaine in diets could improve hen-housed egg production and hen-housed laying rate,which could also improve the health of laying hens under heat stress condition.
