2Erucic acid from Isatis indigotica Fort. suppresses influenza A virus replication and inflammation in vitro and in vivo through modulation of NF-kB and p38 MAPK pathway显示文摘Isatis indigotica Fort.(Ban-Lan-Gen)is an herbal medicine prescribed for influenza treatment.However,its active components and mode of action remain mostly unknown.In the present study,erucic acid was isolated from Isatis indigotica Fort.,and subsequently its underlying mechanism against influenza A virus(IAV)infection was investigated in vitro and in vivo.Our results demonstrated that erucic acid exhibited broad-spectrum antiviral activity against IAV resulting from reduction of viral polymerase transcription activity.Erucic acid was found to exert inhibitory effects on IAV or viral(v)RNA-induced pro-inflam-matory mediators as well as interferons(IFNs).The molecular mechanism by which erucic acid with antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties was attributed to inactivation of NF-kB and p38 MAPK signaling.Furthermore,the NF-kB and p38 MAPK inhibitory effect of erucic acid led to diminishing the transcriptional activity of interferon-stimulated gene factor 3(ISGF-3),and thereby reducing IAV-triggered pro-inflammatory response amplification in IFN-β-sensitized cells.Additionally,IAV-or vRNA-triggered apoptosis of alveolar epithelial A549 cells was prevented by erucic acid.In vivo,erucic acid administration consistently displayed decreased lung viral load and viral antigens expression.Meanwhile,erucic acid markedly reduced CD8+cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL)recruitment,pro-apoptotic signaling,hyperactivity of multiple signaling pathways,and exacerbated immune inflammation in the lung,which resulted in decreased lung injury and mortality in mice with a mouse-adapted A/FM/1/47-MA(H1N1)strain infection.Our findings provided a mechanistic basis for the action of erucic acid against IAV-mediated inflammation and injury,suggesting that erucic acid may have a therapeutic potential in the treatment of influenza.Xiaoli Liang Yuan Huang Xiping Pan Yanbing Hao Xiaowei Chen Haiming Jiang Jing Li Beixian Zhou Zifeng Yang 2020Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,2:10
3Enhanced ozonation degradation of atrazine in the presence of nano-ZnO: Performance, kinetics and effects显示文摘Enhanced ozonation degradation of atrazine(ATZ) with nano-ZnO(nZnO) as catalyst and the influences of the operational parameters have been investigated through semi-continuous experiments in this study. The results demonstrated that the combination of ozone(O_3) and nZnO showed an obvious synergetic effect and the ATZ degradation conformed to pseudo-first-order kinetics. An improvement of ATZ degradation efficiency by 41.8% and pseudo-first-order rate constant by more than a factor of four was obtained in the O_3/nZnO process after 5 min of reaction compared to O_3 alone. Meanwhile, the degradation efficiency of ATZ was gradually enhanced with increasing nZnO dosage and initial pH in the range from 3.0 to 8.0, and a higher amount of ATZ was degraded when the initial concentration of ATZ rose from 0.5 to 5 mg/L. Additionally, sulfate ion, chloride ion, nitrate ion and low concentrations of humic acid substances led to enhancement of the ATZ degradation. The notable decrease of ATZ removal efficiency observed in the presence of radical scavengers and the results of free radical tests indicated thatUOH is the dominant active radical species. 4Magnetoresponsive nanozyme:magnetic stimulation on the nanozyme activity of iron oxide nanoparticles显示文摘The iron oxide nanoparticles(IONPs)that combine the nanozyme activity and magnetothermal properties have attracted significant interest for various biomedical applications.However,the effect of magnetic stimulation in fine-tuning the nanozyme activities remains unclear.Here,we have constructed a series of IONPs with different magneto-thermal conversion abilities,and systematically study the effect of magnetic field stimulation on the peroxidase(POD)activity of IONPs.The results show that POD activity is effectively amplified via an in situ alternating magnetic field(AMF)stimulation with no solution temperature rise,and the degree of activity enhancement is closely related to the magnetic heating ability of the IONPs,confirming the origin of activity enhancement arises from the local magnetothermal effect.As the first report to prove magnetothermal regulation on nanozyme activity and to shed lights on the underlying correlation between activity enhancement and the intrinsic specific absorption rate(SAR),this work is expected to provide important support for future design of new magnetoresponsive nanozymes in various practical applications.Yuan He Xiaoyong Chen Ye Zhang Yanyun Wang Mengyao Cui Galong Li Xiaoli Liu Haiming Fan 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,1:3

11Diagnosis and treatment for advanced hilar cholangiocarcinoma:experience of 24 cases显示文摘The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effi-cacy of the surgical treatment for advanced hilar cholan-giocarcinoma(CCA)in order to improve the resection rate and curative effect.A retrospective analysis was performed on the data of 24 patients who had under-gone surgical treatment for advanced hilar CCA.According to the Bismuth classification,there were four cases of type IIIa,six cases of type IIIb,and 14 cases of type IV.Based on the treatment approaches,these patients were divided into three groups:①Radical resection group:There were five cases(one type IIIa,three type IIIb,and one type IV).The tumor visible to the naked eyes was resected thoroughly and the cut mar-gin was free of tumor by microscopic examination.Then,Roux-en-Y hepatico-jejunal anastomosis was per-formed to restore the bile flow.②Palliative resection group:There were 11 cases.The bile flow was restored by Roux-en-Y hepatico-jejunal anastomosis directly in five cases(two type IIIa,three type IIIb)and by internal drainage through a hepatico-jejunal bridge in the other six cases(one type IIIa,five type IV).③Simple internal biliary drainage group:There were eight cases of type IV,including three cases with the internal drainage through hepatico-jejunal bridge by laparotomy,three cases with endoscopic retrograde biliary drainage(ERBD),two cases with percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage(PTBD).The rate of radical resection was 20.8%and the overall resection rate was 66.7%.All of the 24 patients were fol-lowed-up.The cumulative surviving rates were significantly different among these three groups(Log-rank x2=17.56,P=0.0002).For advanced hilar CCA,the best choice of treatment is radical resection.If radical resection is impractical,palliative resection combined with partial hepatectomy can significantly prolong the survival time.Internal drainage through a hepatico-jejunal bridge can enhance the surgical resection rate and decrease the occur-rence rate of postoperative biliary leakage.Zongming ZHANG Hailin XING Haiming YUAN Kai LIU Jianping ZHU Yanming SU Jinxing GUO Nan JIANG Zichao ZHANG 2008Frontiers of Medicine2008,2,2:0
12Passive imaging through dense scattering media显示文摘Imaging through non-static and optically thick scattering media such as dense fog,heavy smoke,and turbid water is crucial in various applications.However,most existing methods rely on either active and coherent light illumination,or image priors,preventing their application in situations where only passive illumination is possible.In this study we present a universal passive method for imaging through dense scattering media that does not depend on any prior information.Combining the selection of small-angle components out of the incoming information-carrying scattering light and image enhancement algorithm that incorporates timedomain minimum filtering and denoising,we show that the proposed method can dramatically improve the signal-to-interference ratio and contrast of the raw camera image in outfield experiments.YAOMING BIAN FEI WANG YUANZHE WANG ZHENFENG FU HAISHAN LIU HAIMING YUAN GUOHAI SITU 2024Photonics Research2024,12,1:0
