Comparison of nonhuman primates identified the suitable model for COVID-19显示文摘Identification of a suitable nonhuman primate(NHP)model of COVID-19 remains challenging. Here,we characterized severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection in three NHP species:Old World monkeys Macaca mulatta(M.mulatta)and Macaca fascicularis(M.fascicularis)and New World monkey Callithrix jacchus(C.jacchus).Infected M.mulatta and M.fascicularis showed abnormal chest radiographs,an increased body temperature and a decreased body weight.Viral genomes were detected in swab and blood samples from all animals.Viral load was detected in the pulmonary tissues of M.mulatta and M.fascicularis but not C.jacchus.Furthermore,among the three animal species,M.mulatta showed the strongest response to SARS-CoV-2,including increased inflammatory cytokine expression and pathological changes in the pulmonary tissues.Collectively, these data revealed the different susceptibilities of Old World and New World monkeys to SARS-CoV-2 and identified M.mulatta as the most suitable for modeling COVID-19. | Shuaiyao Lu Yuan Zhao Wenhai Yu Yun Yang Jiahong Gao Junbin Wang Dexuan Kuang Mengli Yang Jing Yang Chunxia Ma Jingwen Xu Xingli Qian Haiyan Li Siwen Zhao Jingmei Li Haixuan Wang Haiting Long Jingxian Zhou Fangyu Luo Kaiyun Ding Daoju Wu Yong Zhang Yinliang Dong Yuqin Liu Yinqiu Zheng Xiaochen Lin Li Jiao Huanying Zheng Qing Dai Qiangming Sun Yunzhang Hu Changwen Ke Hongqi Liu Xiaozhong Peng | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 5
Histones released by NETosis enhance the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 by bridging the spike protein subunit 2 and sialic acid on host cells显示文摘Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)can capture and kill viruses, such as influenza viruses, human immunodeficiency virus(HIV),and respiratory syncytial virus(RSV),thus contributing to host defense.Contrary to our expectation,we show here that the histones released by NETosis enhance the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2,as found by using live SARS-CoV-2 and two pseudovirus systems as well as a mouse model. The histone H3 or H4 selectively binds to subunit 2 of the spike(S)protein,as shown by a biochemical binding assay, surface plasmon resonance and binding energy calculation as well as the construction of a mutant S protein by replacing four acidic amino acids.Sialic acid on the host cell surface is the key molecule to which histones bridge subunit 2 of the S protein. Moreover, histones enhance cell-cell fusion. Finally, treatment with an inhibitor of NETosis, histone H3 or H4,or sialic acid notably affected the levels of sgRNA copies and the number of apoptotic cells in a mouse model. These findings suggest that SARS-CoV-2 could hijack histones from neutrophil NETosis to promote its host cell attachment and entry process and may be important in exploring pathogenesis and possible strategies to develop new effective therapies for COVID-19. | Weiqi Hong Jingyun Yang Jun Zou Zhenfei Bi Cai He Hong Lei Xuemei He Xue Li Aqu Alu Wenyan Ren Zeng Wang Xiaohua Jiang Kunhong Zhong Guowen Jia Yun Yang Wenhai Yu Qing Huang Mengli Yang Yanan Zhou Yuan Zhao Dexuan Kuang Junbin Wang Haixuan Wang Siyuan Chen Min Luo Ziqi Zhang Tiangi Lu Li Chen Haiying Que Zhiyao He Qiu Sun Wei Wang Guobo Shen Guangwen Lu Zhiwei Zhao Li Yang Jinliang Yang Zhenling Wang Jiong Li Xiangrong Song Lunzhi Dai Chong Chen Jia Geng Maling Gou Lu Chen Haohao Dong Yong Peng Canhua Huang Zhiyong Qian Wei Cheng Changfa Fan Yuquan Wei Zhaoming Su Aiping Tong Shuaiyao Lu Xiaozhong Peng Xiawei Wei | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,5: | 2
Preventing inhomogeneous elemental distribution and phase segregation in mixed Pb-Sn inorganic perovskites via incorporating PbS quantum dots显示文摘Inhomogeneous Pb/Sn elemental distribution and the resulted phase segregation in mixed Pb-Sn halide perovskites would result in energy disorder(band structure and phase distribution disorder),which greatly limits their photovoltaic performance. Here,Pb S quantum dot has been synthesized and demonstrated as seeds for modulation crystallization dynamics of the mixed Pb-Sn inorganic perovskites, allowing an enhanced film quality and significantly suppressing phase segregation. With this additive power conversion efficiency of 8%and 6%is obtained under irradiation of full sunlight in planar and mesoporous structured solar cells in combination with CsPb_(0.5) Sn_(0.5)I_(2)Br inorganic perovskite, respectively. Our finding reveals exploring the actual Pb/Sn atoms location in perovskite structure and its influence on developing efficient and stable low-bandgap perovskite solar cells. | Tao Zhang Huaxia Ban Qiang Sun Han Pan Haixuan Yu Zhiguo Zhang Xiaoli Zhang Yan Shen Mingkui Wang | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,2: | 1
Asian, regional, and national burdens of respiratory tract cancers and associated risk factors from 1990 to 2019:A systematic analysis for the global burden of disease study 2019显示文摘Background:Respiratory cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, but its statistics vary between the East and West. This study aimed to estimate the burdens of tracheal, bronchus, and lung(TBL)cancer and larynx cancer and their attributable risks from 1990 to 2019 in Asia, and at regional and national levels. Methods:This research evaluated the incidence, mortality, years lived with disability, years of life lost, and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)for respiratory tract cancers using the Global Burden of Diseases,Injuries, and Risk Factors Study(GBD)2019 database.Age-standardized rates were calculated for TBL cancer from 1990 to 2019,adjusted for smoking and socio-demographic index(SDI).Deaths from TBL cancer and larynx cancer attributable to each risk factor were estimated for 33 Asian countries. Results:The age-standardized incidence and death rates for TBL cancer in Asia declined from 2010 to 2019,while the incidence rate of larynx cancer increased.Smoking was the leading specific risk factor for deaths from both TBL and larynx cancers. The burden of TBL cancer in Asian countries was influenced by SDI and smoking, particularly among males in Central Asia.Deaths,DALYs,and incidences of larynx cancer in East Asia had not changed significantly over the past 30 years, but showed slight downward trends in males and both sexes combined, and an upward trend in females in recent years. Conclusions:The past decade saw increases in numbers of incident cases and deaths from TBL cancer and larynx cancer in Asia.SDI and smoking were the main factors influencing the disease burden of TBL cancer in Asian countries. This study highlights the need for tailored cancer control programs to address the burden of respiratory tract cancers in different Asian countries. | Ran Zhong Xiuyu Cai Jianfu Li Peiling Chen Runchen Wang Xinting Li Feng Li Shan Xiong Caichen Li Huiting Wang Yang Xiang Shuting Zhan Ziwen Yu Haixuan Wang Chunyan Li Lixuan Lin Wenhai Fu Xin Zheng Shen Zhao Kang Zhang Jianxing He | 2023 | Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,4: | 1
The olfactory route is a potential way for SARS-CoV-2 to invade the central nervous system of rhesus monkeys显示文摘Neurological manifestations are frequently reported in the COVID-19 patients.Neuromechanism of SARS-CoV-2 remains to be elucidated. In this study,we explored the mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 neurotropism via our established non-human primate model of COVID-19.In rhesus monkey,SARS-CoV-2 invades the CNS primarily via the olfactory bulb.Thereafter, viruses rapidly spread to functional areas of the central nervous system, such as hippocampus, thalamus, and medulla oblongata. The infection of SARS-CoV-2 induces the inflammation possibly by targeting neurons, microglia, and astrocytes in the CNS.Consistently,SARS-CoV-2 infects neuro-derived SK-N-SH,glial-derived U251,and brain microvascular endothelial cells in vitro. To our knowledge, this is the first experimental evidence of SARS-CoV-2 neuroinvasion in the NHP model, which provides important insights into the CNS-related pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2. | Li Jiao Yun Yang Wenhai Yu Yuan Zhao Haiting Long Jiahong Gao Kaiyun Ding Chunxia Ma Jingmei Li Siwen Zhao Haixuan Wang Haiyan Li Mengli Yang Jingwen Xu Junbin Wang Jing Yang Dexuan Kuang Fangyu Luo Xingli Qian Longjiang Xu Bin Yin Wei Liu Hongqi Liu Shuaiyao Lu Xiaozhong Peng | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,5: | 0
Progress and Challenges Toward Effective Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells显示文摘The demand for building-integrated photovoltaics and portable energy systems based on flexible photovoltaic technology such as perovskite embedded with exceptional flexibility and a superior power-to-mass ratio is enormous. The photoactive layer,i.e.,the perovskite thin film,as a critical component of flexible perovskite solar cells(F-PSCs),still faces long-term stability issues when deformation occurs due to encountering temperature changes that also affect intrinsic rigidity. This literature investigation summarizes the main factors responsible for the rapid destruction of F-PSCs.We focus on long-term mechanical stability of F-PSCs together with the recent research protocols for improving this performance.Furthermore,we specify the progress in F-PSCs concerning precise design strategies of the functional layer to enhance the flexural endurance of perovskite films, such as internal stress engineering, grain boundary modification,self-healing strategy, and crystallization regulation. The existing challenges of oxygen-moisture stability and advanced encapsulation technologies of F-PSCs are also discussed. As concluding remarks,we propose our viewpoints on the large-scale commercial application of F-PSCs. | Xiongjie Li Haixuan Yu Zhirong Liu Junyi Huang Xiaoting Ma Yuping Liu Qiang Sun Letian Dai Shahzada Ahmad Yan Shen Mingkui Wang | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,11: | 0

Stitching Perovskite Grains with Perhydropoly(Silazane)Anti-Template-Agent for High-Efficiency and Stable Solar Cells Fabricated in Ambient Air显示文摘All inorganic CsPbI_(3)perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have emerged as disruptive photovoltaic technology owing to their admirable photoelectric properties and the non-volatile active layer. However, the phase instability against moisture severely limits the fabrication environment for the high-efficiency devices, breaking through the confinement region to achieve scalable manufacturing has been the primary issue for future commercialization. Here,we develop a curing-anti-solvent strategy for fabricating high-quality and stable black-phase CsPbI_(3)perovskite films in ambient air by introducing an inorganic polymer perhydropolysilazane(PHPS)into methyl acetate to form anti-template agent. The cross-linked PHPS reduces moisture erosions while the hydrolyzate silanol network(–Si(OH)_(4)^(–))controls the perovskite crystal growth by forming Lewis adducts with PbI_(2)during the fabrication. The polycondensation adduct of Si–O–Si/Si–O–Pb strongly binds to CsPbI_(3)grains as a shield layer to hamper phase transition.Using the inorganic CsPbI_(3)perovskite thin-film with PHPS-modified anti-solvent processing as the light absorber, the n–i–p planar solar cell achieved an efficiency of 19.17%under standard illumination test conditions.More importantly, the devices showed excellent moisture stability, retaining about 90%of the initial efficiency after 1000 h under 30%RH. | Ting Wang Qu Yang Yanli Chen Qiong Peng Xiaosi Qi Hui Shen Xuncheng Liu Shaohui Li Haixuan Yu Yan Shen Mingkui Wang Xiu Gong | 2023 | Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,3: | 0
Capture efficiency and bias from the defect dynamics near grain boundaries in BCC Fe using mesoscale simulations显示文摘The capture efficiency describes the capability of a sink, such as a grain boundary(GB),dislocation, and void,to absorb point defects(PDs).The bias defines the difference in capture efficiency between the absorption of a vacancy and dumbbell at a sink.Complete kinetic information on PDs,including diffusion barriers and diffusion orientations,as well as accurate saddle points, are needed to determine the capture efficiency and bias at a sink accurately, which is computationally demanding. In the present study, the Self-Evolving Atomistic Kinetic Monte Carlo(SEAKMC)method was used to investigate the defect dynamics of PDs near different types of grain boundaries(GBs)(with both 100 and 110 families)accurately in body-centered cubic(BCC)iron(Fe).The capture efficiency, sink strength, and bias factor of different types of GBs were determined in Fe,which, different from traditional rate theory estimation, showed a distinct capture efficiency, sink strength, and bias in different GBs.The results demonstrate a strong positive correlation between the capture efficiency and the GB strain width, instead of the GB misorientation,GB energy,or GB-PD binding energy, which have been investigated previously. This work provides valuable insight into the radiation-induced microstructural evolution of GBs. | Jun Chai Shuo Jin Ziang Yu Haixuan Xu Guang-Hong Lu | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,34: | 0
