| 1 | Nitrogen removal and simultaneous nitrification and denitrification in a fluidized bed step-feed process显示文摘For urban wastewater treatment,we conducted a novel four-stage step-feed wastewater treatment system combined with a fluidized bed laboratory experiment to investigate chemical oxygen demand(COD),NH4+-N,and total nitrogen(TN) removal performance.The removal rates of COD,NH4+-N and TN were 88.2%,95.7%,and 86.4% with e?uent concentrations of COD,NH4+-N and TN less than 50,8,and 10 mg/L,respectively.Biomass and bacterial activities were also measured,with results showing more nitrobacteria in the activated sludge than in the biofilm;however,bacterial activity of the biofilm biomass and the activated sludge were similar.Nitrogen concentrations during the process were also detected,with simultaneous nitrification and denitrification found to be obvious. | BingWang Wei Wang Hongjun Han Hongbo Hu Haifeng Zhuang | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,2: | 22 |
| 2 | Improving the cycle stability of FeCl3-graphite intercalation compounds by polar Fe2O3 trapping in lithium-ion batteries显示文摘FeCI3-intercalated graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) with high reversible capacity and high volumetric energy density are attractive anode material alternatives of commercial graphite. However, the rapid capacity decay, which was induced by chloride dissolution and shuttling issues, hindered their practical application. To address this problem, here, we introduce flake-like Fe2O3 species with inherently polar surface on the edge of FeCl3 -intercalated GICs through microwave-assisted transformation of a fraction of FeCl3 component. Theoretical simulations and physical/electrochemical studies demonstrate that the introduced Fe2O3 component can afford sufficient polar active sites for chemically bonding the soluble FeCl3 and LiCl species based on the polar-polar interaction mechanism, further inhibiting the outward diffusion of the chlorides and immobilizing them within the GIC material. In a lithium ion cell, the FeCl3 -intercalated GIC with a suitable Fe2O3 content shows remarkably improved cycling stability with a high reversible capacity of 1,041 mAh·g^-1 at a current density of 200 mA·g^-1. Capacity retention of 91 % is achieved at a high current density of 1,000 mA·g^-1 over 300 cycles. | 3 | Principle and performance of multi-frequency and multi-GNSS PPP-RTK显示文摘PPP-RTK which takes full advantages of both Real-Time Kinematic(RTK)and Precise Point Positioning(PPP),is able to provide centimeter-level positioning accuracy with rapid integer Ambiguity Resolution(AR).In recent years,with the development of BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS)and Galileo navigation satellite system(Galileo)as well as the modernization of Global Positioning System(GPS)and GLObal NAvigation Satellite System(GLONASS),more than 140 Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)satellites are available.Particularly,the new-generation GNSS satellites are capable of transmitting signals on three or more frequencies.Multi-GNSS and multi-frequency observations become available and can be used to enhance the performance of PPP-RTK.In this contribution,we develop a multi-GNSS and multi-frequency PPP-RTK model,which uses all the available GNSS observations,and comprehensively evaluate its performance in urban environments from the perspectives of positioning accuracy,convergence and fxing percentage.In this method,the precise atmospheric corrections are derived from the multi-frequency and multi-GNSS observations of a regional network,and then disseminated to users to achieve PPP rapid AR.Furthermore,a cascade ambiguity fxing strategy using Extra‐Wide‐Lane(EWL),Wide-Lane(WL)and L1 ambiguities is employed to improve the performance of ambiguity fxing in the urban environments.Vehicle experiments in diferent scenarios such as suburbs,overpasses,and tunnels are conducted to validate the proposed method.In suburbs,an accuracy of within 2 cm in the horizontal direction and 4 cm in the vertical direction,with the fxing percentage of 93.7%can be achieved.Compared to the GPS-only solution,the positioning accuracy is improved by 87.6%.In urban environments where signals are interrupted frequently,a fast ambiguity re-fxing can be achieved within 5 s.Moreover,multifrequency GNSS signals can further improve the positioning performance of PPP-RTK,particularly in the case of small amount of observations.These results demonstrate that the multi-frequency and multi-GNSS PPP-RTK is a promising tool for supporting precise vehicle navigation. | Xingxing Li Bo Wang Xin Li Jiaxin Huang Hongbo Lyu Xinjuan Han | 2022 | Satellite Navigation2022,3,1: | 3 |

| 5 | The metabolic role of LncZBTB39-1:2 in the trophoblast mobility of preeclampsia显示文摘Preeclampsia is characterized by new onset of hypertension and proteinuria after 20 weeks’gestation and is a leading cause of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.The pathogenesis of preeclampsia is often associated with aberrant trophoblast function that leads to shallow placental implantation.However,the exact underlying mechanisms remain unclear.Placental LncZBTB39-1:2 expression level was investigated in 20 healthy placentae and 20 placentae with preeclampsia using qRT-PCR,and the metabolic profile of trophoblasts overexpressing LncZBTB39-1:2 in vitro was analysed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GCeMS).In this study,we found that the expression of LncZBTB39-1:2 was significantly higher in preeclamptic placentae than in healthy placentae.Our metabolomics results have shown that tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediates and metabolites related to carbohydrate metabolism were decreased with the overexpression of LncZBTB39-1:2 in HTR8/SVneo cells.These findings were validated by detecting a lower level of intracellular ATP in HTR8/Vneo cells.Furthermore,the migration of HTR8/SVneo cells was compromised when cells were transfected with a plasmid encompassing LncZBTB39-1:2 overexpression.From these results,we conclude that abnormal levels of LncZBTB39-1:2 expression might lead to aberrant conditions in HTR-8/SVneo trophoblast cells.Aberrant conditions might be associated with dysregulated trophoblast migration and subsequent failure of uterine spiral artery remodelling,a pathogenesis recognised as a contributing factor in the aetiology of preeclampsia. | Yamin Liu Ting-Li Han Xiaofang Luo Yuxiang Bai Xuehai Chen Wei Peng Xi Xiong Philip N.Baker Chao Tong Hongbo Qi | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018,5,3: | 3 |
| 6 | Ionospheric total electron content disturbance associated with May 12, 2008,Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘Possible ionospheric disturbances relating to the May 12, 2008, Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake were identified by Global Positioning System(GPS)-derived total electron content(TEC), ionosonde observations, the global ionospheric map(GIM), and electron density profiles detected by the Constellation Observation System for Meteorology Ionosphere and Climate(COSMIC).We applied a statistical test to detect anomalous TEC signals and found that a unique enhancement in TEC, recorded at 16 GPS stations, appeared on May 9, 2008. The critical frequency at F2 peak(f0F2), observed by the Chinese ionosondes, and maximal plasma frequency,derived from COSMIC data, revealed a characteristic similar to GPS TEC variations. The GIM showed that the anomalous variations of May 9 were located southeast of the epicenter. Using GPS data from 13 stations near the epicenter, we analyzed the TEC variations of satellite orbit traces during 04:00e11:00 UT. We found that TEC decreased to the east and increased to the southeast of the epicenter during this period. | 9 | Construction of Dual-Biofunctionalized Chitosan/Collagen Scaffolds for Simultaneous Neovascularization and Nerve Regeneration显示文摘Biofunctionalization of artificial nerve implants by incorporation of specific bioactive factors has greatly enhanced the success of grafting procedures for peripheral nerve regeneration.However,most studies on novel biofunctionalized implants have emphasized the promotion of neuronal and axonal repair over vascularization,a process critical for long-term functional restoration.We constructed a dual-biofunctionalized chitosan/collagen composite scaffold with Ile-Lys-Val-Ala-Val(IKVAV)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)by combining solution blending,in situ lyophilization,and surface biomodification.Immobilization of VEGF and IKVAV on the scaffolds was confirmed both qualitatively by staining and quantitatively by ELISA.Various single-and dual-biofunctionalized scaffolds were compared for the promotion of endothelial cell(EC)and Schwann cell(SC)proliferation as well as the induction of angiogenic and neuroregeneration-associated genes by these cells in culture.The efficacy of these scaffolds for vascularization was evaluated by implantation in chicken embryos,while functional repair capacity in vivo was assessed in rats subjected to a 10mm sciatic nerve injury.Dual-biofunctionalized scaffolds supported robust EC and SC proliferation and upregulated the expression levels of multiple genes and proteins related to neuroregeneration and vascularization.Dual-biofunctionalized scaffolds demonstrated superior vascularization induction in embryos and greater promotion of vascularization,myelination,and functional recovery in rats.These findings support the clinical potential of VEGF/IKVAV dual-biofunctionalized chitosan/collagen composite scaffolds for facilitating peripheral nerve regeneration,making it an attractive candidate for repairing critical nerve defect.The study may provide a critical experimental and theoretical basis for the development and design of new artificial nerve implants with excellent biological performance. | Guicai Li Qi Han Panjian Lu Liling Zhang Yuezhou Zhang Shiyu Chen Ping Zhang Luzhong Zhang Wenguo Cui Hongkui Wang Hongbo Zhang | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 2 |
| 10 | SnRK1 Phosphorylates and Destabilizes WRKY3 to Enhance Barley Immunity to Powdery Mildew显示文摘Plants recognize pathogens and activate immune responses,which usually involve massive transcriptional reprogramming.The evolutionarily conserved kinase,Sucrose non-fermenting-related kinase 1(SnRK1),functions as a metabolic regulator that is essential for plant growth and stress responses.Here,we identify barley SnRK1 and a WRKY3 transcription factor by screening a cDNA library.SnRK1 interacts with WRKY3 in yeast,as confirmed by pull-down and luciferase complementation assays.Förster resonance energy transfer combined with noninvasive fluorescence lifetime imaging analysis indicates that the interaction occurs in the barley nucleus.Transient expression and virus-induced gene silencing analyses indicate that WRKY3 acts as a repressor of disease resistance to the Bgh fungus.Barley plants overexpressing WRKY3 have enhanced fungal microcolony formation and sporulation.Phosphorylation assays show that SnRK1 phosphorylates WRKY3 mainly at Ser83 and Ser112 to destabilize the repressor,and WRKY3 non-phosphorylation-null mutants at these two sites are more stable than the wild-type protein.SnRK1-overexpressing barley plants display enhanced disease resistance to Bgh.Transient expression of SnRK1 reduces fungal haustorium formation in barley cells,which probably requires SnRK1 nuclear localization and kinase activity.Together,these findings suggest that SnRK1 is directly involved in plant immunity through phosphorylation and destabilization of the WRKY3 repressor,revealing a new regulatory mechanism of immune derepression in plants. | Xinyun Han Ling Zhang Lifang Zhao Pengya Xue Ting Qi Chunlei Zhang Hongbo Yuan Lixun Zhou Daowen Wang Jinlong Qiuand Qian-Hua Shen | 2020 | Plant Communications2020,1,4: | 2 |

| 14 | AQR is a novel type 2 diabetes-associated gene that regulates signaling pathways critical for glucose metabolism显示文摘Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM) is a common metabolic disease influenced by both genetic and environmental factors. In this study, we performed an in-house genotyping and meta-analysis study using three independent GWAS datasets of T2 DM and found that rs3743121, located 1 kb downstream of AQR,was a novel susceptibility SNP associated with T2 DM. The risk allele C of rs3743121 was correlated with the increased expression of AQR in white blood cells, similar to that observed in T2 DM models. The knockdown of AQR in HepG2 facilitated the glucose uptake, decreased the expression level of PCK2,increased the phosphorylation of GSK-3β, and restored the insulin sensitivity. Furthermore, the suppression of AQR inhibited the mTOR pathway and the protein ubiquitination process. [Methods]Five steps( material crushing→ ethyl acetate impurity removing → concentrated extract washing → extracting with methanol → crystallization and precipitation) were used.The single factor experiment and L9( 34) orthogonal experiment was carried out to optimize the process parameters including extraction time,ultrasonic power,extraction times,and extraction temperature.[Results] The optimum process of ethyl acetate impurity removal method for extracting and isolating mangiferin from mango leaves was as follows: the mango leaves were crushed and sieved; 3 m L/g of ethyl acetate was added,sealed and soaked for 4 h,ultrasonically shaken for 20 min( 50℃,350 W),filtered at room temperature,filtered with 100 mesh sieve,and extracted three times; added 100% methanol to the residue at 3 m L/g,extract by ultrasonic vibration for 20 min( 350 W,55℃)for four times,filtered with 100 mesh sieve when it was still hot; mixed the extract of each time,condensed by vacuum decompression to get the extract; added 100% methanol at 4 m L/g,mixed and washed for 5 min at room temperature,placed for 10 min,filtered with 100 mesh sieve,washed 3 times repeatedly,and dried the filter residue at 60℃ to obtain the crude mangiferin; added 100% methanol at 4 m L/g,mixed and washed at 50℃ for 5 min,placed at 6℃ for 8 h,dried the filter residue at 60℃,and repeatedly crystallized two times. According to the above process,crude and pure mangiferin products could be obtained,the purity of mangiferin of the crude product was higher than 64. 00%,the total recovery rate was 83. 90%,and the purity of mangiferin of the pure product was higher than 98. 00%,and the total recovery rate was about 66. 40%.
