| 1 | A model and experimental study of phosphate uptake kinetics in algae:Considering surface adsorption and P-stress显示文摘Phosphorus is an important limiting nutrient in many ecosystems.Consequently,there is increasing interest on phosphate uptake and algal growth due to the increasing frequency and magnitude of algal blooms induced by eutrophication.The co-existence of surface adsorbed and intracellular phosphorus pools indicate that phosphate uptake by phytoplankton is,to some extent,a two-stage kinetic process.However,almost all previous uptake models considered the internal uptake stage only and ignored the possible impact of surface adsorption.In this article,a two-stage kinetic uptake model considering both surface adsorption and P-stress on phosphate uptake by algae was constructed and compared to conventional one-stage models,based on experimental data on short-term uptake kinetics of a green algae S.quadricauda.Results indicated that with suitable parameters,the two-stage uptake model not only fit the experimental data better,but also gave more reasonable and realistic explanations to the phosphate uptake process.The results are meaningful as surface-adsorption of phosphate may affect the uptake process of phosphate and assist in understanding realistic phosphate uptake kinetics in phytoplankton. | Bo Yao Beidou Xi Chunming Hu Shouliang Huo Jing Su Hongliang Liu | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2: | 15 |

| 4 | Fine mapping of the awn gene on chromosome 4 in rice by association and linkage analyses显示文摘Awnness is a key trait in rice domestication, yet no studies have been conducted on fine mapping or association mapping of the rice awn gene. In this study, we investigated the awnness and genotype of a core collection of 303 cultivated rice varieties and a BC5F2 segregating population of 200 individuals. Combining association and linkage analyses, we mapped the awnness related genes to chromosome 4. Primary association analysis using 24 SSR markers revealed five loci significantly associated with awnness on chromosome 4. The associated markers cover previously identified regions. Fine association mapping was conducted using another 29 markers within a 4-Mb region, covering the associated marker in34, which is close to the awn gene Awn4.1. Seven associated markers were revealed, distributed over an 870-kb region. Combining the fine association mapping and linkage analysis of awnness in the 200 BC5F2 segregating population, we finally identified a 330-kb region as the candidate region for Awn4.1. | 6 | A method of elevated temperatures coupled with magnetic stirring to predict real time release from long acting progesterone PLGA microspheres显示文摘The object of the study was to develop a quick and reproducible accelerated in vitro release method to predict and deduce the function of the real time(37 °C) release for long acting PLGA microspheres. The method could be described in several steps. First, the release of the microspheres were studied using the sample and separate method at 37 °C with normal orbital shaking and elevated temperatures with magnetic stirring to further accelerate the release. Second, the most similar profile at elevated temperatures with the real time release was chosen with the help of the n value in the fitted Korsmeyer-Peppas Function. Third,the Weibull function and conversion ratio were used to deduce the function of real time release according to the chosen profile at elevated temperatures. The key point in this study was to provide a quick and precise method to predict the real time release for long acting progesterone PLGA microspheres. So the elevated temperatures coupled with magnetic stirring were used to accelerate the release further, and when there have many similar release profiles with the real time release at elevated temperatures, releasing time at elevated temperatures and the R2 of the final deduced function will be used to help choosing the most similar release profile with the real time release. | 8 | Extraction and Purification Process Optimization and Antioxidant Activity in vitro of Flavonoids in Amaranthus caudatus L.显示文摘[Objectives]To explore the optimal extraction and purification process of the flavonoids in Amaranthus caudatus L.and to study the antioxidant activity in vitro of the flavonoids in A.caudatus.[Methods]Taking A.caudatus as the raw material,flavonoids were extracted by alcohol extraction method,and AB-8 macroporous adsorption resin was selected for purification.The hydroxyl radical scavenging ability,DPPH radical scavenging ability,and O^2-radical scavenging ability were used as evaluation indicators,to explore the antioxidant activity in vitro of the flavonoids in A.caudatus.[Results]The optimal extraction process conditions of flavonoids in A.caudatus are:liquid-to-material ratio 40:1,extraction temperature 60℃,ethanol concentration 60%,ultrasonic power 320 W,extraction time 50 min.Under these conditions,the extraction yield of flavonoids in A.caudatus is(1.35±0.01)%.The optimal purification process conditions of flavonoids in A.caudatus are 2.5 g AB-8 macroporous adsorption resin,sample volume 5 mL,mass concentration of adsorption solution 1.60 mg/mL,pH value of adsorption solution 3.0,sample flow rate 3 BV/h,ethanol concentration in desorption process is 70%and the desorption flow rate is 3 BV/h.Under these conditions,the recovery rate reaches 88.35%±0.68%.[Conclusions]A.caudatus has a high content of flavonoids and has excellent free radical scavenging ability in vitro.This study is intended to provide important technical support for the research of flavonoid activity of A.caudatus and the development of functional products. | Hongliang YAO Huihui LI | 2020 | Medicinal Plant2020,11,4: | 2 |

| 10 | Effects of the Ratio of n-6∶n-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in the Maternal Diet on Immunoglobulins,Fatty Acid Composition,and Performance of Lactating Sows and Suckling Piglets under Conditions of Low Maternal Energy Intake显示文摘This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different ratios of n-6 ∶ n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in sow diets on the performance of lactating sows and their piglets at low digestible energy intakes. Twenty-one pregnant Landrace sows were assigned to one of three diets from day 108 of gestation until weaning (26 to 29 d) ,containing n-6∶n-3 PUFA ratios of 3 ∶1,8 ∶1 and 11 ∶1. The effects on sow and litter production traits and on sow body condition were examined. There were no differences among treatments in daily feed intakes or in changes in sow weight and back-fat levels during lactation. Litter size,litter weight at birth and weaning and litter average daily weight gain were also unaffected by treatment. As expected, large differences were observed in n-6 and n-3 fatty acids in the colostrum and plasma of sows and piglets (P < 0. 01) . The ratio of n6 ∶ n-3 PUFA the diet was positively correlated with those in colostrum,sow plasma and piglet plasma (R 2= 0. 55,0. 80 and 0. 80,respectively) . Sow plasma insulin and IGF-I levels at weaning were unaffected by the treatments. Plasma leptin (P < 0. 05) concentrations were increased in sows fed the diet with a n-6∶n-3 ratio of 8 ∶ 1. Immunoglobulin concentrations in colostrum were not altered by dietary treatment. Plasma IgG concentrations at d 14 were highest in piglets from sows fed the 8 ∶ 1 ratio of n-6∶n-3. Furthermore,this group had the highest IgA concentrations at day 21 of lactation compared with the other two groups (P < 0. 05) . In summary,our study demonstrated that at low digestible energy levels,altering the ratio of n-6 ∶ n-3 PUFA in the diets for lactating sows affected immune components and the fatty acid composition of lactating sows and their piglets. | 13 | Association Between Lipid Profiles and Left Ventricular Hypertrophy:New Evidence from a Retrospective Study显示文摘Objective To explore the association between lipid profiles and left ventricular hypertrophy in a Chinese general population.Methods We conducted a retrospective observational study to investigate the relationship between lipid markers[including triglycerides,total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein(HDL)cholesterol,non-HDL-cholesterol,apolipoprotein A-I,apolipoprotein B,lipoprotein[a],and composite lipid profiles]and left ventricular hypertrophy.A total of 309,400 participants of two populations(one from Beijing and another from nationwide)who underwent physical examinations at different health management centers between 2009 and 2018 in China were included in the cross-sectional study.7,475 participants who had multiple physical examinations and initially did not have left ventricular hypertrophy constituted a longitudinal cohort to analyze the association between lipid markers and the new-onset of left ventricular hypertrophy.Left ventricular hypertrophy was measured by echocardiography and defined as an end-diastolic thickness of the mterventricular septum or left ventricle posterior wall>11 mm.The Logistic regression model was used in the cross-sectional study.Cox model and Cox model with restricted cubic splines were used in the longitudinal cohort.Results In the cross-sectional study for participants in the highest tertile of each lipid marker compared to the respective lowest,triglycerides[odds ratio(OR):1.2S0,95%CI:1.060 to 1.474],HDL-cholesterol(OR:0.780,95%CI:0.662 to 0.918),and lipoprotein(a)(OR:1.311,95%C7:1.115 to 1.541)had an association with left ventricular hypertrophy.In the longitudinal cohort,for participants in the highest tertile of each lipid marker at the baseline compared to the respective lowest,triglycerides[hazard ratio(HR):3.277,95%C/:1.720 to 6.244],HDL-cholesterol(HR:0.516,95%C7:0.283 to 0.940),non-HDL-cholesterol(HR:2.309,95%C/:1.296 to 4.112),apolipoprotein B(HR:2.244,95%CI:1.251 to 4.032)showed an association with new-onset left ventricular hypertrophy.In the Cox model with forward stepwise selection,triglycerides were the only lipid markers entered into the final model.Conclusion Lipids levels,especially triglycerides,are associated with left ventricular hypertrophy.Controlling triglycerides level potentiate to be a strategy in harnessing cardiac remodeling but deserve to be furdier investigated. | Xuewei Huang Keqiong Deng Juanjuan Qin Fang Lei Xingyuan Zhang Wenxin Wang Lijin Lin Yuming Zheng Dongai Yao Huiming Lu Feng Liu Lidong Chen Guilan Zhang Yueping Liu Qiongyu Yang Jingjing Cai Zhigang She Hongliang Li | 2022 | Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2022,37,2: | 1 |

| 19 | Environment-friendly antisolvent tert-amyl alcohol modified hybrid perovskite photodetector with high responsivity显示文摘The preparation of high-quality perovskite films with optimal morphologies is important for achieving highperformance perovskite photodetectors(PPDs). An effective strategy to optimize the morphologies is to add antisolvents during the spin-coating steps. In this work, a novel environment-friendly antisolvent tert-amyl alcohol(TAA) is employed first to improve the quality of perovskite films, which can effectively regulate the formation of an intermediate phase staged in between a liquid precursor phase and a solid perovskite phase due to its moderate polarity and further promote the homogeneous nucleation and crystal growth, thus leading to the formation of high-quality perovskite films and enhanced photodetector performance. As a result, the responsivity of the PPD reaches 1.56 A/W under the illumination of 532 nm laser with the power density of 6.37 μW=cm^(2) at a bias voltage of -2 V, which is good responsivity for PPDs with the vertical structure and only CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3) perovskite as the photosensitive material. The corresponding detectivity reaches 1.47×10^(12) Jones, while the linear dynamic range reaches 110 dB.
