| 1 | Distribution and genesis of the anomalously high porosity zones in the middle-shallow horizons of the northern Songliao Basin显示文摘High-quality reservoirs occur in the middle-shallow horizons of the northern Songliao Basin. The distribution and genesis of their anomalously high porosity zones were studied using measured porosities, examination of ordinary thin sections and blue epoxy resin-impregnated thin sections and by SEM. The results show that there are three anomalously high porosity zones at the depth of 450-900 m, 1,300-1,900 m, 2,050-2,350 m respectively, named zone i, zone ii and zone iii from top to bottom. Horizontally, zone i and zone ii are distributed all over the basin except in the Southeastern Uplift, while zone iii is only distributed in the Central Depression. Zone i was formed by meteoric water leaching as well as organic acid dissolution. Zones ii and iii were dominantly formed by organic acid dissolution. | 2 | Current status of adoption of no-till farming in the world and some of its main benefits显示文摘In 1999 no-tillage farming,synonymous of zero tillage farming or conservation agriculture,was adopted on about 45 million ha world wide,growing to 72 million ha in 2003 and to 111 million ha in 2009,corresponding to an growth rate of 6 million ha per annum.Fastest adoption rates have been experienced in South America where some countries are using no-tillage farming on about 70%of the total cultivated area.Opposite to countries like the USA where often fields under no-tillage farming are tilled every now and then,more than two thirds of the area under no-tillage systems in South America is permanently not tilled;in other words once adopted,the soil is never tilled again.The spread of no-tillage systems on more than 110 million ha world-wide shows the great adaptability of the systems to all kinds of climates,soils and cropping conditions.No-tillage is now being practiced from the artic circle over the tropics to about 50ºlatitude south,from sea level to 3,000 m altitude,from extremely rainy areas with 2,500 mm a year to extremely dry conditions with 250 mm a year.No-till farming offers a way of optimizing productivity and ecosystem services,offering a wide range of economic,environmental and social benefits to the producer and to the society.At the same time,no-till farming is enabling agriculture to respond to some of the global challenges associated with climate change,land and environmental degradation,and increasing cost of food,energy and production inputs.The wide recognition of no-till farming as a truly sustainable system should ensure the spread of the no-till technology and the associated practices of organic soil cover and crop rotation,as soon as the barriers to its adoption have been overcome,to areas where adoption is currently still low.The widespread adoption globally also shows that no-tillage farming cannot any more be considered a temporary fashion or a craze;instead largely through farmers’own effort,the system has established itself as a farming practice and a different way of thinking about sustainable agro-ecosystem management that can no longer be ignored by scientists,academics,extension workers,farmers at large as well as equipment and machine manufacturers and politicians. | Rolf Derpsch Theodor Friedrich Amir Kassam Li Hongwen | 2010 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2010,3,1: | 18 |
| 3 | Adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) from acidic aqueous solutions by tourmaline as a novel material显示文摘Batch experiments were conducted to investigate the behavior and mechanisms for the adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) from aqueous solutions by tourmaline under acidic conditions. The results indicated that the adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) significantly depend on the adsorption time, temperature, and the initial concentration of the metal ion. Furthermore, tourmaline had a very good adsorption capacity for Cd(Ⅱ) in acidic, neutral and alkaline aqueous solutions. This good adsorption capacity is attributed to the observation that tourmaline can automatically adjust the pH values of acidic (except pH 2.0 and 3.0), neutral or alkaline aqueous solutions to 6.4. Specifically, the removal capacity for Cd(Ⅱ) was higher at strongly acidic pH values (in contrast to industrial wastewater pH values) compared to that obtained for other types of adsorbents. Furthermore, the results obtained in this study showed good fits to the Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. However, the Langmuir model fit better than the Freundlich model. The maximum uptake of Cd(Ⅱ) by tourmaline was 31.77, 33.11 and 40.16 mg/g at pH 4.0 at 15, 25 and 35°C, respectively. Therefore, tourmaline is an effective adsorbent for the removal of Cd(Ⅱ) from acidic aqueous solutions. In addition, the kinetics for the Cd(Ⅱ) adsorption by tourmaline closely followed the pseudo-second-order model. The thermodynamic parameters indicated that adsorption was feasible, spontaneous, and endothermic. Furthermore, the pH variation after adsorption, ζ-potential, metal ions desorbed and released, and FT-IR analysis indicated that the physisorption and chemisorption mechanisms of tourmaline for heavy metals. These mechanisms included water that was automatically polarized by tourmaline, the ion exchange process, and electropolar adsorption. | 6 | Psychological status and diabetes-related distress of Chinese type 1 diabetes patients in Jiangsu province, China显示文摘We sought to assess the psychological status and diabetes-related distress of Chinese type 1 diabetes patients in Jiangsu province,China.According to the World Health Organization criteria,42 patients with type 1 diabetes were enrolled in the study and assessed with the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Diabetes Distress Scale(DDS).All data were tabulated and statistical analyses were performed.The study summarized cases of 42 patients with type 1 diabetes,including 17 males and 25 females with a mean age of 23±12 years and a mean duration of diabetes of 7±6 years.Compared to the Chinese normative data,the SAS standard score was significantly higher,whereas SDS standard score had no statistical significance.The SAS standard score was most highly correlated with diabetes duration(γ=0.547,P=0.011).Additionally,19.5%of the patients had moderate or even severe diabetes-related distress and 21.4%had moderate or even severe emotional burden while 26.2%had regimen-related distress.Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the mean correlation between DDS and the four domains was high,particularly the emotional burden domain(estimatedβ=0.363,P<0.001)and regimen-related distress domain(estimatedβ=0.356,P<0.001).The correlation between SAS and DDS was positive(estimatedβ=0.039,P=0.027).In conclusion,the results showed the importance of psychological aspects in Chinese individuals with type 1 diabetes.Screening and treatment of psychological aspects may result in better adherence and increased quality of life for patients with diabetes. | Lulu Kong Yun Cai Gang Mei Rong Gu Xiaojiao Zhang Yao Qin Ya Cai Yan Li Hongwen Zhou Mei Zhang Tao Yang | 2013 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2013,27,5: | 9 |
| 7 | Effects of natural organic matter on cadmium mobility in paddy soil: A review显示文摘Cadmium(Cd) contamination in paddy soil has caused public concern. The uptake of Cd by rice plants depends on soil Cd mobility, which is in turn substantially influenced by organic matter(OM). In this review, we first summarize the fate of Cd in soil and the role of OM. We then focus on the effects of OM on Cd mobility in paddy soil and the factors influencing the remedial effectiveness of OM amendments. We further discuss the performance of straw incorporation in the remediation of Cd-contaminated paddy soils reported in laboratory and field studies. Considering the huge production of organic materials(such as straw) in agriculture, the use of natural OM for soil remediation has obvious appeal due to the environmental benefits and low cost. Although there have been successful application cases, the properties of OM amendments and soil can significantly affect the remedial performance of the OM amendments. Importantly, straw incorporation alone does not often decrease the mobility of Cd in soil or the Cd content in rice grains. | 10 | Effects of key design parameters of tine furrow opener on soil seedbed properties显示文摘The structural parameters of tine furrow openers have significant effects on soil property of seed furrow in no-till planting,thereby affecting crop growth and yields.In order to analyze the effects of key parameters of tine furrow openers on soil properties(soil bulk density,soil water-stable aggregates(WSA),and soil disturbance)of the surface soil layer of 0-10 cm and surface straw disturbance,the tine furrow openers with different structural parameters,including cutting edge thickness,cutting edge curve,penetration clearance angle and rake angle,were designed and tested under no-till conditions.Orthogonal test and single factor test were performed to analyze the effects of different parameters.Results showed that the rake angle,cutting edge thickness and cutting edge curve had significant effects on cross-sectional area of furrow(Af)and disturbance of surface straw;the rake angle had a significant effect on soil bulk density.Soil types and operating depth had significant effects on soil disturbance caused by tine furrow openers.The concave type tine furrow opener produced the lowest soil disturbance and soil bulk density of seed furrow,the highest surface straw disturbance and the greatest content of WSA(>0.5 mm).With increasing rake angles of tine furrow opener,the width of seedbed(Wsb)and the Af decreased first and then increased,respectively,while the width of soil throw(Wst)and the height of ridge(Hr)increased.The Wsb and Af created by tine furrow opener with 60°rake angle were significantly lower than that with others,respectively.The tine furrow opener with rake angle ranged from 45°to 60°created the lowest soil bulk density.As the penetration clearance angle increased,the content of WSA(>0.5 mm)decreased,but the effect of penetration clearance angle on the content of WSA(<0.5 mm)was not significant.The cutting edge thickness(<2 mm)had no significant effects on soil properties of seedbed.This study could provide a reference for optimal design of the tine furrow opener to create more suitable seedbed environment,and promote the application of the light no-till planters. | Zhang Xiangcai Li Hongwen Du Ruicheng Ma Shaochun He Jin Wang Qingjie Chen Wanzhi Zheng Zhiqi Zhang Zhiqiang | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,3: | 7 |

Through investigation, we found that the phases LixSn4Zn4(x = 2, 4, 6, 8) contributed to re-versible capacity, while the phases LixSn4Zn8-(x-4)(x = 4.74, 7.72) led to capacity loss due to high forma-tion energy, namely, they were the dead lithium phases during the charge/discharge process. | 12 | A Study of the Characteristics of Microorganisms for Effective Degradation of Marine Oil Spills显示文摘Four microorganism strains were isolated from coastal petroleum-polluted soil and sand samples of Bohai Sea oilfield; they were found to degrade marine oil spills effectively. The experimental results show that the degradation efficiency of crude oil with these four strains (XT-4, SZ-1-25, B-4-9, BS-3-12) is 95.97%, 96.01%, 97.99% and 98.99%, respectively, in their optimum conditions. The characteristics of bacterial biodegradation are investigated. | 13 | The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. | 14 | Design and Experiment of ф-type-knots Knotters on Chinese Small Square Balers显示文摘Since the knotters on the Chinese rectangular balers are imported from outside of the country,Chinese knotters with independent intellectual property rights is far away from being closed.In order to harvest a large quantity of straw in a short period on the small-scale lands of China,basic requirements on the knotters are summarized.Mathematical model of the knotter is also determined uniquely.Furthermore,theф-type-knots knotter equipped on the Chinese square baler to form theфtype knots is designed.Knotting rate experiments of theф-type-knots knotter on the test bench and in the wheat/maize straws covered fields are carried out to check the knotting performances of the knotter.The parameters of the formed knots are also tested.The experiments results show that the knotting rate of theф-type-knots knotter reaches 100.0%on the test bench without straws,while reaches 99.6%in the wheat straws covered field and 100.0%in the maize straws covered field.The average maximum force in the knotting process is 194.7 N in the lab experiment.The length out of the knots formed in lab is 15.9%–20.6%lower than the knots formed in the field experiment.The breaking force of the knots formed in the field is 115.9%–167.2%higher than the knots formed in lab due to the higher preload and interactions with the compacted bales.Highly relevant relationships exist between the breaking force of the formed knots and the maximum force in the forming process of the knots in the lab experiment.The designed knotter breaks out the embarrassing situation of the domestic knotters which don’t have independent intellectual property rights,and promotes the development of Chinese knotter technology,and the mathematical model is helpful for designing new type of knotters. | LI Hui HE Jin WANG Qingjie LI Hongwen RASAILY Rabi Gautam CAO Qingchun ZHANG Xiangcai | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2014,27,1: | 5 |
| 15 | Influences of wide-narrow seeding on soil properties and winter wheat yields under conservation tillage in North China Plain显示文摘In order to promote the winter wheat yield and guarantee seeding quality in double-cropping system,no-tillage or reduced tillage planting modes with different row spacing have been implemented to result in different levels of yield.A three-year(2012-2015)field experiment was conducted on the experimental farm at Zhuozhou of Hebei Province in North China Plain to compare winter wheat yield from the two planting modes:wide-narrow row space planting mode(WN)and uniform row space planting mode(UR)Both planting modes were performed under reduced tillage conditions with straw mulching.The results showed that in North China Plain WN had positive impacts on crop yield,yield components,leaf area index(LAI)and intercepted photosynthetically active radiation(IPAR)index.Comparing with the UR,IPAR and LAI index for WN were enhanced by 4.8%and 5.2%,respectively.The average yield for WN was 7.2%,significantly greater than that of UR under the same quantity and density.In addition,for WN mode,machinery could pass through with less blocking under large amount of straw mulching,which largely improved tillage efficiency and potentially popularized the conservation tillage technology in North China plain.It is therefore recommended that wide-narrow row space planting mode(WN)combined with reduced tillage and straw mulching be more suitable for conservation tillage in double-cropping pattern areas in North China Plain. | Hongnan Hu Caiyun Lu Qingjie Wang Hongwen Li Jin He Dijuan Xu Xianliang Wang | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,4: | 4 |

| 17 | Effects of extracts from Chuanwu(Aconitum Carmichaelii) and Banxia(Rhizoma Pinelliae) on excisional wound healing in a rat's model显示文摘OBJEVTIVE: To investigate the effects of extracts from Chuanwu(Aconitum Carmichaelii) and Banxia(Rhizoma Pinelliae) on the excisional wound healing in a rat's model.METHODS: Rats were performed a surgical lesion with a 2.0 cm resected tissue in the dorsal fascia.Following, animals were randomly divided into model group, YNB group and APE group those were respectively treated with saline, 1 mg/mL of Yunnan Baiyao and 1 mg/mL of Chuanwu(Aconitum Carmichaelii) and Banxia(Rhizoma Pinelliae) extracts. Wound contractions in days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 21 were calculated by an image analyzer. Histological analysis was analyzed using hematoxilin and eosin.Levels of tumor necrosis factor-2(IL-2), IL-4, IL-10, transformαin(TNF-g growα), interleukinth factor-1(TGF-nd basic fibroblast growth factor(bFββ1) a-GF) were determined by real-time quantitative PCR.RESULTS: Compared with that of YNB group and APE gtoup, the skin of rats showed poor re-modeling and re-epithelization characterized by a significant decrease of neovascularization, epithelialization and fibroblast in the model group. | 18 | Design and experiment of anti-vibrating and anti-wrapping rotary components for subsoiler cum rotary tiller显示文摘The commonly used subsoiling cum rotary tiller machine(SRT)in Northern China is a combination of subsoiler and horizontal rotary tiller,however backfilling of the subsoiling slot,excessive vibration and plant residue wrapping on rotary components has been rarely considered.Therefore,the rotary components and assembly were redesigned to address these issues and to an SRT fitted with IT225 short curve rotary blades behind the V-shape subsoiling slots and IIT245 long curve rotary blades between the tines.Long and short blades were fitted on a rotor in a double helix,with optimal spiral angles of 65° and 90°,and phase angle of 147°and 180°,respectively.Compared with the commonly used SRT(CSRT),the additional anti-wrapping cutting blades in the circumferential and axial direction of ASRT could remove hanging residue on the blade holders,wrapping on the rotor and formation of an isolation layer.Moreover,the cutting edge curve of anti-wrapping cutting blades was an exponential curve.Field tests demonstrated that the redesigned SRT with anti-vibrating and anti-wrapping rotary components(ASRT)had was a significant advancement over the CSRT.Moreover,the working depth of rotary tillage was more stable,while other observations confirmed that backfilling of the subsoiling slot was also improved. | Kan Zheng Allen D.McHugh Hongwen Li Qingjie Wang Caiyun Lu Hongnan Hu Wenzheng Liu Zhiqiang Zhang Peng Liu Jin He | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,4: | 4 |
| 19 | Chemical oxidation of arsenic in the environment and its application in remediation: A mini review显示文摘Arsenic(As)contamination in soil and water poses a serious threat to the ecosystem health and human beings,and is of widespread concern.The main As species found in soil and water are arsenite As(Ⅲ)and arsenate As(V).Because As(Ⅲ)is more toxic and often more mobile than As(Ⅴ),many remediation strategies aim to oxidize As(Ⅲ)to As(Ⅴ).In the environment,the reduction of As(Ⅴ)under anaerobic conditions is mainly mediated by microorganisms,but the oxidation of As(Ⅲ)under aerobic conditions can be mediated primarily by chemical processes.This article first reviews the existing knowledge on chemical oxidation of As(Ⅲ)in the environment,with an emphasis on the roles of iron(Fe)and manganese(Mn)oxides.The application of Fe and Mn oxides for the remediation of As-contaminated soil and water is then summarized.The oxidation of As(Ⅲ)by oxygen is very slow in the absence of catalysts.Many Mn oxides,on the other hand,can efficiently oxidize As(Ⅲ).Although the oxidation of As(Ⅲ)by Fe(Ⅲ)is also slow,this process can be accelerated by light or Fe(Ⅱ).Iron and Mn oxides are widely used for the remediation of As-contaminated soil and water,with Fe oxides generally acting as absorbents while Mn oxides as oxidants.To better understand and regulate As transformation and transport in the environment,further study is needed on the mechanisms and influencing factors of As(Ⅲ)oxidation by Fe and Mn oxides,and the development of innovative methods and materials based on Fe and Mn oxides are desired. | Chaolei YUAN Qi LI Zhaoyang SUN Wenjun ZHANG Jiangrong CHEN Zheng CHEN Shuo NA Hongwen SUN | 2023 | Pedosphere2023,33,1: | 2 |
