1Evaluation of solar aided biomass power generation systems with parabolic trough field显示文摘Solar and biomass are both renewable energy resources.Using biomass as fuel is becoming more and more attractive after governments increase the tariff for the electricity from the renewable sources.However the costs of power from a biomass power generation plant depend greatly on the availability and quality of the biomass resource.The commercialization of solar alone thermal power generation is hindered by its high initial investment and low thermal efficiency.In this paper,a concept of integrating solar into a biomass power generation system is put forward.In the system the oil heated by a parabolic trough solar field is used to replace the extraction steam to preheat the feed water(entering a biomass boiler) and the previous extraction steam thus saved can continue to do work in the lower stages of turbine.The performance of the hybrid system with different replacements is analyzed and compared through two typical solar aided biomass generating units.The results show that the integration not only reduces the consumption of biomass fuel(at the same generation capacity) but is also proved to be an efficient way to convert solar thermal energy into power.The results also show that with the same solar aperture area,the higher the grade of the replaced extraction steam,the better the thermal performance and economy.HOU HongJuan YANG YongPing HU Eric SONG JiFeng DONG ChangQing MAO Jian 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,6:15
2Effect of acupotomy on nitric oxide synthase and beta-endorphin in third lumbar vertebrae transverse process syndrome model rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the long-term effects and pain relief mechanism of acupotomy by observing changes in nitric oxide synthase(NOS) and beta-endorphin(β-EP) in the hypothalamus, spinal cord,and peripheral blood of rats with third lumbar vertebrae(L3) transverse process syndrome.METHODS:Twenty-eight SD rats were randomly assigned to normal, model, electroacupuncture(EA),and acupotomy group. The last three groups were put through an operation to emulate L3transverse process syndrome. Fourteen days after the simulation operation, EA and acupotomy treatments were applied to the respective groups. Fifty-six days afterthe simulation operation, biochemistry tests and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to measure NOS and β-EP in the hypothalamus, spinal cord, and peripheral blood.RESULTS: Rats with the simulation operation showed significantly higher levels of NOS and β-EP in the hypothalamus, spinal cord, and peripheral blood than those in the normal group. 4Geochemical characteristics and origin of gases from the Upper,Lower Paleozoic and the Mesozoic reservoirs in the Ordos Basin,China显示文摘The Ordos Basin,the second largest sedimentary basin in China,contains the broad distribution of natural gas types.So far,several giant gas fields have been discovered in the Upper and Lower Paleozoic in this basin,each having over 1000×10 8 m 3 of proven gas reserves,and several gas pools have also been discovered in the Mesozoic.This paper collected the data of natural gases and elucidated the geochemical characteristics of gases from different reservoirs,and then discussed their origin.For hydrocarbons preserved in the Upper Paleozoic,the elevatedδ13C values of methane,ethane and propane indicate that the gases would be mainly coal-formed gases;the singular reversal in the stable carbon isotopes of gaseous alkanes suggests the mixed gases from humic sources with different maturity.In the Lower Paleozoic,theδ13C 1 values are mostly similar with those in the Upper Paleozoic,but theδ13C 2 andδ13C 3 values are slightly lighter,suggesting that the gases would be mixing of coal-type gases as a main member and oil-type gases.There are multiple reversals in carbon isotopes for gaseous alkanes,especially abnormal reversal for methane and ethane(i.e.δ13C 1 >δ13C 2 ),inferring that gases would be mixed between high-mature coal-formed gases and oil-type gases.In the Mesozoic,the δ13Cvalues for gaseous alkanes are enriched in 12C,indicating that the gases are mainly derived from sapropelic sources;the carbon isotopic reversal for propane and butane in the Mesozoic is caused by microbial oxidation and mixing of gases from sapropelic sources with different maturity.In contrast to the Upper Paleozoic gases,the Mesozoic gases are characterized by heavier carbon isotopes of iso-butane than normal butane,which may be caused by gases generated from different kerogen types. 5Pyrolysis mechanism of glucose and mannose: The formation of 5-hydroxymethyl furfural and furfural显示文摘Fast pyrolysis of biomass will produce various furan derivatives, among which 5-hydroxymethyl furfural(5-HMF) and furfural(FF) are usually the two most important compounds derived from holocellulose. In this study, density functional theory(DFT) calculations are utilized to reveal the formation mechanisms and pathways of 5-HMF and FF from two hexose units of holocellulose, i.e., glucose and mannose. In addition, fast pyrolysis experiments of glucose and mannose are conducted to substantiate the computational results, and the orientation of 5-HMF and FF is determined by ^(13)C-labeled glucoses. Experimental results indicate that C1 provides the aldehyde group in both 5-HMF and FF, and FF is mainly derived from C1 to C5 segment. According to the computational results, glucose and mannose have similar reaction pathways to form 5-HMF and FF with d-fructose(DF) and 3-deoxy-glucosone(3-DG) as the key intermediates. 5-HMF and FF are formed via competing pathways. The formation of 5-HMF is more competitive than that of FF, leading to higher yield of 5-HMF than FF from both hexoses. In addition, compared with glucose,mannose can form 5-HMF and FF via extra pathways because of the epimerization at C2 position. 6Viscoelasticity of Asphalt Modified With Packaging Waste Expended Polystyrene显示文摘In view of environmental and economic aspect,asphalt was modified with recycled packaging waste expended polystyrene(WEPS)instead of common polymer.The differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),rotational viscometer and dynamic shear rheology(DSR)were used to analyze and evaluate the viscoelasticity of modified asphalt.Results indicate that the sensitivity of modified asphalt to temperature is decreased while the rut resistance of asphalt is increased.In addition,the viscoelasticity of asphalt is improved after the modification with WEPS.Besides,the modified asphalt has high viscosity at low temperature and low viscosity at high temperature,which is favorable for construction.Changqing Fang Linna Jiao Jingbo Hu Qian Yu Dagang Guo Xing Zhou Ruien Yu 2014Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,9:3
7Relationship between the parent charge transfer gap and maximum transition temperature in cuprates显示文摘One of the biggest puzzles concerning the cuprate high temperature superconductors is what determines the maximum transition temperature(Tc,max), which varies from less than 30 to above 130 K in different compounds.Despite this dramatic variation, a robust trend is that within each family, the double-layer compound always has higher Tc,maxthan the single-layer counterpart. Here we use scanning tunneling microscopy to investigate the electronic structure of four cuprate parent compounds belonging to two different families. We find that within each family, the double layer compound has a much smaller charge transfer gap size(DCT), indicating a clear anticorrelation between DCTand Tc,max. 9Antigen-non-specific regulation centered on CD25^(+)Foxp3^(+) Treg cells显示文摘CD25^(+)Foxp3^(+) regulatory T cells(Tregs)are of special interest in immunology because of their potent inhibitory function.Many fundamental aspects of Tregs,including their antigenic profile,development and peripheral homeostasis,remain highly controversial.Here,we propose a Treg-centered antigen-non-specific immunoregulation model focused on the T-cell system,particularly on CD41 T cells.The T-cell pool consists of naive T cells(Tnais),Tregs and effector T cells(Teffs).Regardless of antigen specificity,the ratio of the activated T-cell subsets(Treg/Teff/Tnai)and their temporal and spatial uniformity dictate the differentiation of Tnais.Activated Tregs inhibit the activation,proliferation,induction and activity of Teffs;in contrast,activated Teffs inhibit the induction of Tregs from Tnais but cooperate with Treg-specific antigens to promote the proliferation and activity of Tregs.In many cases,these interactions are antigen-non-specific,whereas the activation of both Tregs and Teffs is antigen-specific.Memory T-cell subsets are essential for the maintenance of adaptive immune responses,but the antigen-non-specific interactions among T-cell subsets may be more important during the establishment of the adaptive immune system to a newly encountered antigen.This is especially important when new and memory antigens are presented closely—both temporally and spatially—to T cells,because there are always baseline levels of activated Tregs,which are usually higher than levels of memory T cells for new antigens.Based on this hypothesis,we further infer that,under physiological conditions,Tregs in lymph nodes mainly recognize antigens frequently released from draining tissues,and that these self-reactive Tregs are commonly involved in the establishment of adaptive immunity to new antigens and in the feedback control of excessive responses to pathogens.Gangzheng Hu Zhongmin Liu Changqing Zheng Song Guo Zheng 2010Cellular & Molecular Immunology2010,7,6:2

11Regulation of fruit ripening by the brassinosteroid biosynthetic gene SlCYP90B3 via an ethylenedependent pathway in tomato显示文摘The essential role of ethylene in fruit ripening has been thoroughly studied.However,the involvement of brassinosteroids(BRs)in the regulation of fruit ripening and their relationship with the ethylene pathway are poorly understood.In the current study,we found that BRs were actively synthesized during tomato fruit ripening.We then generated transgenic lines overexpressing or silencing SlCYP90B3,which encodes a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that catalyzes the rate-limiting step of BR synthesis.The expression level of SlCYP90B3 was positively related to the contents of bioactive BRs as well as the ripening process in tomato fruit,including enhanced softening and increased soluble sugar and flavor volatile contents.Both carotenoid accumulation and ethylene production were strongly correlated with the expression level of SlCYP90B3,corroborated by the altered expression of carotenoid biosynthetic genes as well as ethylene pathway genes in transgenic tomato fruits.However,the application of the ethylene perception inhibitor 1-methycyclopropene(1-MCP)abolished the promotion effect of SlCYP90B3 overexpression on carotenoid accumulation.Taken together,these results increase our understanding of the involvement of SlCYP90B3 in bioactive BR biosynthesis as well as fruit ripening in tomato,thus making SlCYP90B3 a target gene for improvement of visual,nutritional and flavor qualities of tomato fruits with no yield penalty.Songshen Hu Lihong Liu Shuo Li Zhiyong Shao Fanliang Meng Haoran Liu Wenyi Duan Dongyi Liang Changqing Zhu Tao Xu Qiaomei Wang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2
12Microstructure characterization and thermal properties of the waste-styrene-butadiene-rubber (WSBR)-modified petroleum-based mesophase asphalt显示文摘In this work, waste-styrene-butadiene-rubber(WSBR)-modified petroleum-based mesophase asphalt was prepared through a co-carbonization process. The influence of contents of WSBR and carbonization temperature on the properties of mesophase asphalt was investigated. The chemical constituents,microstructure and thermal property of the samples were characterized. The results show that using WSBR as modifier can significantly promote the formation of mesophase. When the temperature is constant, the addition of WSBR results in more optically anisotropic crystal structure in the samples, and a better thermal stability. When the content of WSBR is invariable, with increasing temperature, the content of anisotropic structure in mesophase asphalt becomes higher and more uniform. 15Boosting High-Voltage and Ultralong-Cycling Performance of Single-Crystal LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2) Cathode Materials via Three-in-One Modification显示文摘LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2) is extensively researched as one of the most widely used commercially materials for Li-ion batteries at present.However,the poor high-voltage performance(≥4.3 V)with low reversible capacity limits its replacement for LiCoO_(2) in high-end digital field.Herein,three-in-one modification,Na-doping and Al_(2)O_(3)@Li_(3)BO_(3) dual-coating simultaneously,is explored for single-crystalline LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2)(N-NCM@AB),which exhibits excellent high-voltage performance.N-NCM@AB displays a discharge-specific capacity of 201.8 mAh g^(−1) at 0.2 C with a high upper voltage of 4.6 V and maintains 158.9 mAh g^(−1) discharge capacity at 1 C over 200 cycles with the corresponding capacity retention of 87.8%.Remarkably,the N-NCM@AB||graphite pouch-type full cell retains 81.2% of its initial capacity with high working voltage of 4.4 V over 1600 cycles.More importantly,the fundamental understandings of three-in-one modification on surface morphology,crystal structure,and phase transformation of N-NCM@AB are clearly revealed.The Na+doped into the Li–O slab can enhance the bond energy,stabilize the crystal structure,and facilitate Li+transport.Additionally,the interior surface layer of Li^(+)-ions conductor Li_(3)BO_(3) relieves the charge transfer resistance with surface coating,whereas the outer surface Al_(2)O_(3) coating layer is beneficial for reducing the active materials loss and alleviating the electrode/electrolyte parasite reaction.This three-in-one strategy provides a reference for the further research on the performance attenuation mechanism of NCM,paving a new avenue to boost the high-voltage performance of NCM cathode in Li-ion batteries.Bao Zhang Jixue Shen Qi Wang Changqing Hu Bi Luo Yun Liu Zhiming Xiao Xing Ou 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,1:1

19A low-energy ion spectrometer with half-space entrance for three-axis stabilized spacecraft显示文摘A low-energy ion spectrometer(LEIS) for use aboard three-axis stabilized spacecraft has been developed to measure ion energy per charge distribution in three-dimensional space with good energy-, angular-and temporal-resolutions. For the standard top-hat electrostatic analyzer used widely in space plasma detection, three-axis stabilized spacecraft makes it difficult to obtain complete coverage of all possible ion arrival directions. We have designed angular scanning deflectors supplementing to a cylindrically symmetric top-hat electrostatic analyzer to provide a half-space field of view as 360°×90°(–45°–+45°), and fabricated the LEIS flight model for detecting magnetospheric ions in geosynchronous orbit. The performance of this payload has been evaluated in detail by a series of simulation and environmental tests, and the payload has also been calibrated through laboratory experiments using a low-energy ion source.
