1Reversible 3D optical data storage and information encryption in photo-modulated transparent glass medium显示文摘Transparent glass has been identified as a vital medium for three-dimensional(3D)optical information storage and multi-level encryption.However,it has remained a challenge for directly writing 3D patterning inside a transparent glass using semiconductor blue laser instead of high-cost femtosecond laser.Here,we demonstrate that rare earth ions doped transparent glass can be used as 3D optical information storage and data encryption medium based on their reversible transmittance and photoluminescence manipulation.The color of tungsten phosphate glass doped with rare earth ions change reversibly from light yellow to blue upon alternating 473 nm laser illumination and temperature stimulation,resulting in the reversible luminescence modulation.The information data could be repeatedly written and erased in arbitrary 3D space of transparent glass,not only showing the ability of the excellent reproducibility and storage capacity,but also opening opportunities in information security.The present work expands the application fields of luminescent glass,and it is conducive to develop a novel 3D data storage and information encryption media.Zhen Hu Xiongjian Huang Zhengwen Yang Jianbei Qiu Zhiguo Song Junying Zhang Guoping Dong 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,8:6
2Stable carbon and nitrogen isotope evidence of human and pig diets at the Qinglongquan site,China显示文摘Previous studies on the Rice-Millet(foxtail millet and common millet) Blended Zone in Chinese Neolithic have not clearly addressed such questions as the importance of primitive rice-millet mixed agriculture to human lifestyle and livestock managements within this region,the relationship among the development of the agriculture,paleoenvironment,and cultural interactions,and so on.Here stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis of human and pig bones from the Qinglongquan site was conducted,covering two cultural phases,namely the Qujialing Culture(3000 BC to 2600 BC) and the Shijiahe Culture(2600 BC to 2200 BC) .Based on this analysis,we further discussed the diets of ancient humans and pigs in the site,investigated the importance of rice-millet mixed agriculture to human and pig diets,and explored the relationship among the primitive rice agriculture and millet agriculture,cultural interactions,and paleoenvironment.The δ13C values of human bone collagen(-16.7‰ to-12.4‰,averaging-14.6‰±1.3‰,n=24) revealed that both C3 and C4 foods were consumed,probably from the contribution of rice(C3 plant) and millets(C4 plants) due to the coexistence of these crops at this site.In addition,the human mean δ13C value suggested that millet agriculture was only minor in human diets.The human δ15N values(6.6‰to 10.8‰,averaging 9.0‰±1.2‰,n=24) showed that animal resources played a significant role in human diets,and varied greatly.The mean δ13C value of the pigs(-14.3‰±2.5‰,n=13) was quite similar to that of the humans,but the mean δ15N value of the pigs was slightly less(1.3‰) .The similar δ13C and δ15N values between humans and pigs suggested that the pigs consumed a lot of humans'food remains.No correlations of the δ13C and δ15N values between humans and pigs showed that both human and pig diets were based mainly on plant foods,which might be related to highly developed rice-millet mixed agriculture at that time. In comparison with the human and pig diets between the two periods,millet agriculture contributed more than 10%in the Shijiahe Culture,if a simple mixing model was used.This apparent dietary shift matched the climatic variation and agricultural development through the time.In warm and humid climate with the expansion of the Qujialing Culture northwards,rice was widely cultivated.However,when the climate was cold and arid,northern culture was expanding southwards.Thus,millet agriculture became more important.GUO Yi HU YaoWu ZHU JunYing ZHOU Mi WANG ChangSui Michael P. 3Enhanced Performance of Osteoblasts by Silicon Incorporated Porous TiO_2 Coating显示文摘Silicon (Si) incorporated porous TiO 2 coating (Si-TiO 2) prepared on titanium (Ti) by micro-arc oxidation (MAO) technique was demonstrated to be cytocompatible in previous studies.In view of the potential clinical applications,a detailed in vitro study of the biological activity of Si-TiO 2 coating,in terms of osteoblast (MC3T3-E1 cells) morphology,proliferation,differentiation and mineralization was performed.Immunofluorescent staining indicated that cells seeded on the Si-TiO 2 coating showed improved adhesion with developing mature cytoskeletons,which contained numerous distinct and well-defined actin stress fibers in the cell membranes compared with those on the TiO 2 coating and Ti plate.Results from proliferation assay showed that the proliferation rate of cells seeded on the Si-TiO 2 coating was significantly faster than that on the TiO 2 coating and Ti plate.Furthermore,the analysis of osteogenic gene expression demonstrated that the Si-TiO 2 coating stimulated the expression of osteoblast-related genes and promoted differentiation and mineralization of MC3T3-E1 cells.In addition,the Si-TiO 2 coating differentially regulated Wnt signaling pathway by up-regulating the expression of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor-related protein 5 (Lrp5),and downregulating the expression of Dickkopf-1 (Dkk1).All together,these results indicate that the investigated titanium with Si-TiO 2 coating is biocompatible and a good candidate material used as implants.Quanming Wang Hongjie Hu Yuqing Qiao Zhengxiang Zheng Junying Sun 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,2:5

9Cytokine nanosponges suppressing overactive macrophages and dampening systematic cytokine storm for the treatment of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis显示文摘Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(HLH)is a highly fatal condition with the positive feedback loop between continued immune cell activation and cytokine storm as the core mechanism to mediate multiple organ dysfunction.Inspired by macrophage membranes harbor the receptors with special high affinity for proin-flammation cytokines,lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated macrophage membrane-coated nanoparticles(LMNP)were developed to show strong sponge ability to both IFN-γand IL-6 and suppressed overactivation of macrophages by inhibiting JAK/STAT signaling pathway both in vitro and in vivo.Besides,LMNP also efficiently alleviated HLH-related symptoms including cytopenia,hepatosplenomegaly and hepatorenal dysfunction and save the life of mouse models.Furthermore,its sponge effect also worked well for five human HLH samples in vitro.Altogether,it’s firstly demonstrated that biocompatible LMNP could dampen HLH with high potential for clinical transformation,which also provided alternative insights for the treatment of other cytokine storm-mediated pathologic conditions such as COVID-19 infection and cytokine releasing syndrome during CAR-T therapy.Honglan Wang Huiwen Liu Jia Li Chunying Liu Hui Chen Junying Li Chunyan Sun Tao Guo Zhiqing Pang Bo Zhang Yu Hu 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,3:1
10Atmospheric Particle Hygroscopicity and the Influence by Oxidation State of Organic Aerosols in Urban Beijing显示文摘A hygroscopic tandem differentialmobility analyser(H-TDMA)was used to observe the sizeresolved hygroscopic characteristics of submicron particles in January and April 2018 in urban Beijing.The probability distribution of the hygroscopic growth factor(HGF-PDF)in winter and spring usually showed a bimodal pattern,with more hygroscopic mode(MH)being more dominant.The seasonal variation in particle hygroscopicity was related to the origin of air mass,which received polluted southerly air masses in spring and clean northwesterly air masses in winter.Particles showed stronger hygroscopic behaviour during heavy pollution episodes(HPEs)with elevated concentrations of secondary aerosols,especially higher mass fraction of nitrate,which were indicated using the PM2.5(particulate matter with diameter below 2.5μm)mass concentration normalised by CO mass concentration.The hygroscopic parameter(κ)values were calculated using H-TDMA(κhtdma)and chemical composition(κchem).The closure study showed thatκchem was overestimated in winter afternoon when compared withκhtdma,because the organic particle hygroscopic parameter(κorg)was overestimated in the calculations.It was influenced by the presence of a high concentration of hydrocarbon-like organic aerosol(HOA)with a weak water uptake ability.A positive relationship was observed betweenκorg and the ratio of oxygenated organic aerosol(OOA)and HOA,thereby indicating that the strong oxidation state enhanced the hygroscopicity of the particles.This study revealed the effect of local emission sources and secondary aerosol formation processes on particle hygroscopicity,which is of great significance for understanding the pollution formation mechanism in the North China Plain.Sinan Zhang Xiaojing Shen Junying Sun Yangmei Zhang Xiaoye Zhang Can Xia Xinyao Hu Junting Zhong Jialing Wang Shuo Liu 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2:1
11Effect of Plastic Deformation and H_2S on Dynamic Fracture Toughness of High Strength Casing Steel显示文摘The effects of plastic deformation and H2 S on fracture toughness of high strength casing steel(C110 steel) were investigated. The studied casing specimens are as follows: original casing, plastic deformation(PD) casing and PD casing after being immersed in NACE A solution saturated with H2S(PD+H2S). Instrumented impact method was employed to evaluate the impact behaviors of the specimens, meanwhile, dynamic fracture toughness(JId) was calculated by using Rice model and Schindler model. The experimental results show that dynamic fracture toughness of the casing decreases after plastic deformation. Compared with that of the original casing and PD casing, the dynamic fracture toughness decreases further when the PD casing immersed in H2 S, moreover, there are ridge-shaped feature and many secondary cracks present on the fracture surface of the specimens. 16Myeloid-derived suppressor cells promote B-cell production of IgA in a TNFR2-dependent manner显示文摘Myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs)are well known for their capacity to suppress antitumor T-cell responses,but their effects on B-cell function and antibody production remain unclear.Here,we found that MDSCs that accumulated around the germinal center in the spleen of tumor-bearing mice co-located with B cells.In the presence of MDSCs,the antibody reaction to a surrogate antigen was significantly enhanced in mice,especially the immunoglobulin(Ig)A subtype.Co-culture with MDSCs promoted both proliferation and differentiation of B cells into IgA-producing plasma cells in vitro.Interestingly,the cross talk between MDSCs and B cells required cell-cell contact.MDSCs from tumor necrosis factor receptor(TNFR)2^(−/−)mice,but not from TNFR1^(−/−)mice,failed to promote B-cell responses.Further investigation suggested that interleukin-10 and transforming growth factor-β1 were crucial for the MDSC-mediated promotion of IgA responses.These results demonstrate a novel mechanism of MDSC-mediated immune regulation during tumor growth.Xia Xu Qinghong Meng Ulrike Erben Peigang Wang Rainer Glauben Anja A Kühl Hao Wu Chung Wah Ma Minghua Hu Yuanyuan Wang Wei Sun Junying Jia Xinyi Wu Wei Chen Britta Siegmund Zhihai Qin 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,7:1
