1The Yanshan orogeny and late Mesozoic multi-plate convergence in East Asia—Commemorating 90th years of the “Yanshan Orogeny”显示文摘The Yanshan movement/orogeny has been proposed for 90 years, which is of special significance in the history of geological research in China. This study conducted a review by synthesizing major achievements regarding episodic deformation features, sedimentary and magmatic records of the Yanshan orogeny in China, and clarified the episodic tectono-magmatism and its geodynamic origins. The tectonic implications of the Yanshan orogeny are discussed in the context of global plate tectonics and supercontinent reconstruction. Lines of evidence from structural, sedimentary and magmatic data suggest that the Yanshan orogeny represents a regional-scale tectonic event that affected the entire China continent in late Mesozoic period. Numerous age and structural constraints consistently indicate that the Yanshan orogeny was initiated in the Jurassic(at ~170±5 Ma). and was characterized by alternating stages of crustal shortening at ~170–136 Ma, crustal extension at ~135–90 Ma, and weak shortening at ~80 Ma. The 170–136 Ma crustal shortening was reflected in the generation of two regional stratigraphic unconformities(the Tiaojishan and Zhangjiakou unconformities), which were initially named the A and B episodes of 'the Yanshan Orogeny' by Mr.Wong Wenhao in 1928. Geodynamically, the Yanshan orogeny in East Asia was associated with nearly coeval oceanic subduction and continental convergence in the Paleo-Pacific, Neo-Tethys, and Mongol-Okhotsk tectonic domains. As a consequence, three giant accretionary-collisional tectonic systems were formed along the continental margins of East Asia, i.e., the Mongol-Okhotsk, Bangonghu-Nujiang, and SE China subduction-and collision-related accretionary systems. The Yanshan orogeny induced widespread crustal-scale folding and thrusting, tectonic reactivation of long-lived zones of crustal weakness,and extensive magmatism and mineralization in intraplate regions. 2Overcharge-to-thermal-runaway behavior and safety assessment of commercial lithium-ion cells with different cathode materials:A comparison study显示文摘In this paper,overcharge behaviors and thermal runaway(TR)features of large format lithium-ion(Liion)cells with different cathode materials(LiFePO4(LFP),Li[Ni_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)]O_(2)(NCM111),Li[Ni_(0.6)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.2)]O_(2)(NCM622)and Li[Ni_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)]O_(2)(NCM811))were investigated.The results showed that,under the same overcharge condition,the TR of LFP Li-ion cell occurred earlier compared with the NCM Li-ion cells,indicating its poor overcharge tolerance and high TR risk.However,when TR occurred,LFP Li-ion cell exhibited lower maximum temperature and mild TR response.All NCM Liion cells caught fire or exploded during TR,while the LFP Li-ion cell only released a large amount of smoke without fire.According to the overcharge behaviors and TR features,a safety assessment score system was proposed to evaluate the safety of the cells.In short,NCM Li-ion cells have better performance in energy density and overcharge tolerance(or low TR risk),while LFP Li-ion cell showed less severe response to overcharging(or less TR hazards).For NCM Li-ion cells,as the ratio of nickel in cathode material increases,the thermal stability of the cathode materials becomes poorer,and the TR hazards increase.Such a comparison study on large format Li-ion cells with different cathode materials can provide deeper insights into the overcharge behaviors and TR features,and provide guidance for engineers to reasonably choose battery materials in automotive applications.Zhenpo Wang Jing Yuan Xiaoqing Zhu Hsin Wang Lvwei Huang Yituo Wang Shiqi Xu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,4:12
3Influence of physical properties of carrier on the performance of dry powder inhalers显示文摘Dry powder inhalers(DPIs) offer distinct advantages as a means of pulmonary drug delivery and have attracted much attention in the field of pharmaceutical science. DPIs commonly contain micronized drug particles which, because of their cohesiveness and strong propensity to aggregate, have poor aerosolization performance. Thus carriers with a larger particle size are added to address this problem. However, the performance of DPIs is profoundly influenced by the physical properties of the carrier, particularly their particle size, morphology/shape and surface roughness. 4A DISTRIBUTED QOS ROUTING BASED ON ANT ALGORITHM FOR LEO SATELLITE NETWORK显示文摘Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites provide short round-trip delays and are becoming in- creasingly important. One of the challenges in LEO satellite networks is the development of specialized and efficient routing algorithms. To satisfy the QoS requirements of multimedia applications, satellite routing protocols should consider handovers and minimize their effect on the active connections. A distributed QoS routing scheme based on heuristic ant algorithm is proposed for satisfying delay bound and avoiding link congestion. 5Retina-Inspired Organic Heterojunction-Based Optoelectronic Synapses for Artificial Visual Systems显示文摘For the realization of retina-inspired neuromorphic visual systems which simulate basic functions of human visual systems,optoelectronic synapses capable of combining perceiving,processing,and memorizing in a single device have attracted immense interests.Here,optoelectronic synaptic transistors based on tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium(Ir(ppy)_(3))and poly(3,3-didodecylquarterthiophene)(PQT-12)heterojunction structure are presented.The organic heterojunction serves as a basis for distinctive synaptic characteristics under different wavelengths of light.Furthermore,synaptic transistor arrays are fabricated to demonstrate their optical perception efficiency and color recognition capability under multiple illuminating conditions.The wavelength-tunability of synaptic behaviors further enables the mimicry of mood-modulated visual learning and memorizing processes of humans.More significantly,the computational dynamics of neurons of synaptic outputs including associated learning and optical logic functions can be successfully demonstrated on the presented devices.This work may locate the stage for future studies on optoelectronic synaptic devices toward the implementation of artificial visual systems.Junyao Zhang Yang Lu Shilei Dai Ruizhi Wang Dandan Hao Shiqi Zhang Lize Xiong Jia Huang 2021Research2021,,1:3
6Low-cost hybrid integrated 4 × 25.78 Gb/s CWDM TOSA for 10 km transmission using DFB-LDs and an arrayed waveguide grating multiplexer显示文摘We have developed a cost-effective and highly compact 100-Gb/s coarse wavelength division multiplexing(CWDM) transmitter optical subassembly(TOSA) using lens-free hybrid integration. To achieve large alignment tolerances, distributed feedback laser diodes(DFB-LDs) are butt-coupled to a four-channel silica-based planar lightwave circuit(PLC) arrayed waveguide grating, with the silicon sub-mounts and PLC adhesively bonded.Then, a flexible printed circuit is employed to connect the internal DFB-LDs and the exterior of the TOSA package for radiofrequency signal transmission, eliminating the expensive ceramic feed-through. 7Athermal 4-channel (de-)multiplexer in silicon nitride fabricated at low temperature显示文摘We have designed and realized an athermal 4-channel wavelength(de-)multiplexer in silicon nitride(Si N).Minimized thermal sensitivity is achieved in a wide wavelength range by using wide and narrow waveguides with low and different thermal-optic coefficients in the two arms of Mach–Zehnder interferometers(MZIs). The Si N core layer and Si O2 cladding layers are deposited by a low-temperature plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition process. The fabricated MZI filter exhibits a thermal sensitivity within 2.0 pm∕°C in a wavelength range of 55 nm to near 1300 nm. Then, an athermal(de-)multiplexer based on cascaded MZIs has been demonstrated with a crosstalk ≤-22 d B and a thermal sensitivity <4.8 pm∕°C for all four channels, reduced by 77% compared to a conventional Si N(de-)multiplexer. 10Indocyanine green assembled free oxygen-nanobubbles towards enhanced near-infrared induced photodynamic therapy显示文摘Photodynamic therapy(PDT)has shown a promising capability for cancer treatment with minimal side effects.Indocyanine green(ICG),the only clinically approved near-infrared(NIR)fluorophore,has been used as a photosensitizer for PDT in clinical application.However,the main obstacle of directly utilizing ICG in the clinic lies in its low singlet oxygen(1O_(2))quantum yield(QY)and instability in aqueous solution.To improve the PDT efficacy of ICG,free ICG molecules were assembled with free oxygen nanobubbles(NBs-O_(2))to fabricate ICG-NBs-O_(2) by hydrophilic-hydrophobe interactions on the gas-liquid interface.Interestingly,1O2 QY of ICG-NBs-O_(2) solution was significantly increased to 1.6%,which was estimated to be 8 times as high as that of free ICG solution.Meanwhile,ICG-NBs-O_(2) exhibited better aqueous solution stability compared with free ICG.Furthermore,through establishing tumor models in nude mice,the therapeutic efficacy of ICG-NBs-O_(2) was also assessed in the PDT treatment of oral cancer.The tumor volume in ICG-NBs-O_(2) treated group on day 14 decreased to 0.56 of the initial tumor size on day 1,while the tumor volume in free ICG treated group increased to 2.4 times.The results demonstrated that ICG-NBs-O_(2) showed excellent tumor ablation in vivo.Therefore,this facile method provided an effective strategy for enhanced PDT treatment of ICG and showed great potential in clinical application.Li Yang Bin Huang Shiqi Hu Yuan An Jingyi Sheng Yan Li Yuxin Wang Ning Gu 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:2

14Evolution of AVS video coding standards:twenty years of innovation and development显示文摘Ever since the founding of the Audio and Video Coding Standard(AVS)Workgroup of China in 2002,it has been dedicated to advancing and innovating the digital audio-video industry with highly efficient and economical encoding/decoding technologies.Three representative generations of video coding standards have been finalized and published,consistently improving the coding performance in the past two decades.The series of AVS standards establish solid foundations for ubiquitous video applications in the areas including acquisition,coding,production,delivery,integrated system,public service,general screen content,and mixed reality media.Along with the standardization process,an extensive amount of studies have been carried out on efficiency-aware designation,algorithm optimization,and hardware implementation of these innovative video coding techniques.This paper explains how those developed techniques provide a lasting impact on the video coding community,extensively,technologically,and systematically.In particular,we provide a comprehensive survey of the three generations of the standards,and timely and in-depth summarize the efforts of the AVS video coding standards in the twenty years.The rate-distortion performance comparisons,in particular in terms of the 8K ultra-high-definition(UHD)contents,reflect the elegant design of the state-of-the-art AVS3 standards.We have also elaborated on a variety of well-established and promising applications,including commercial level real-time 8K encoder,high-frame-rate decoder chip for cell phone,and live streaming solution for sports.In addition,the China Central Television(CCTV)of China Media Group(CMG),the state television of China,has officially launched the first 8K broadcasting channel(CCTV-8K)since 2021 using AVS3.Given the significant success realized by the AVS standards,it is envisioned that a new era of 8K UHD video is arriving.Siwei MA Li ZHANG Shiqi WANG Chuanmin JIA Shanshe WANG Tiejun HUANG Feng WU Wen GAO 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,9:1

17Cortical and Subcortical Grey Matter Abnormalities in White Matter Hyperintensities and Subsequent Cognitive Impairment显示文摘Grey matter(GM)alterations may contribute to cognitive decline in individuals with white matter hyperintensities(WMH)but no consensus has yet emerged.Here,we investigated cortical thickness and grey matter volume in 23 WMH patients with mild cognitive impairment(WMH-MCI),43 WMH patients without cognitive impairment,and 55 healthy controls.Both WMH groups showed GM atrophy in the bilateral thalamus,fronto-insular cortices,and several parietal-temporal regions,and the WMH-MCI group showed more extensive and severe GM atrophy.The GM atrophy in the thalamus and fronto-insular cortices was associated with cognitive decline in the WMH-MCI patients and may mediate the relationship between WMH and cognition in WMH patients.Furthermore,the main results were well replicated in an independent dataset from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative database and in other control analyses.These comprehensive results provide robust evidence of specific GM alterations underlying WMH and subsequent cognitive impairment.Wenhao Zhu Hao Huang Shiqi Yang Xiang Luo Wenzhen Zhu Shabei Xu Qi Meng Chengchao Zuo Yong Liu Wei Wang Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,6:1
