1Biocompatibility of bio-Mg-Zn alloy within bone with heart, liver, kidney and spleen显示文摘A magnesium-zinc alloy rod was implanted into the marrow cavity of the distal femur in New Zealand rabbits. The femur with the implanted alloy was compared with the contralateral femur in which a bone tunnel without implant was formed as a control. Degradation of the magnesium-zinc alloy was analyzed via X-ray, scanning electron microscopy, and element energy spectrum analysis. Serum magnesium, liver and kidney function tests, and myocardial enzymes were measured. Heart, liver, kidney and spleen were sectioned for pathological analysis, and the effects of the implanted material on the histology and function of important organs were analyzed. Magnesium-zinc alloy was resorbed from the bone marrow cavity of the femur; 87% of the alloy was degraded within 14 weeks after the surgery. There were no significant differences in serum magnesium, liver or kidney function tests, or myocardial enzymes be- fore the surgery and after degradation of the magnesium-zinc alloy. Histology of the heart, liver, kidney, and spleen did not change. 3Fabrication of Fe-doped Co-MOF with mesoporous structure for the optimization of supercapacitor performances显示文摘The synergy effect between different components has attracted widespread attentions because of improved activity, selectivity and stability than single component. In this paper, we fabricated mesoporous hybrid dual-metal Co and Fe containing metallic organic framework(Co/Fe-MOF), Fe-MOF,and Co-MOF in the ionic liquid(IL)/supercritical CO2(SC)/surfactant emulsion system, and then studied the electrochemical properties of the three MOFs systematically. 4Adaptive optics two-photon microscopy enables near-diffraction-limited and functional retinal imaging in vivo显示文摘In vivo fundus imaging offers non-invasive access to neuron structures and biochemical processes in the retina.However,optical aberrations of the eye degrade the imaging resolution and prevent visualization of subcellular retinal structures.We developed an adaptive optics two-photon excitation fluorescence microscopy(AO-TPEFM)system to correct ocular aberrations based on a nonlinear fluorescent guide star and achieved subcellular resolution for in vivo fluorescence imaging of the mouse retina.With accurate wavefront sensing and rapid aberration correction,AOTPEFM permits structural and functional imaging of the mouse retina with submicron resolution.Specifically,simultaneous functional calcium imaging of neuronal somas and dendrites was demonstrated.Moreover,the timelapse morphological alteration and dynamics of microglia were characterized in a mouse model of retinal disorder.In addition,precise laser axotomy was achieved,and degeneration of retinal nerve fibres was studied.This highresolution AO-TPEFM is a promising tool for non-invasive retinal imaging and can facilitate the understanding of a variety of eye diseases as well as neurodegenerative disorders in the central nervous system.Zhongya Qin Sicong He Chao Yang Jasmine Sum-Yee Yung Congping Chen Christopher Kai-Shun Leung Kai Liu Jianan Y.Qu 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4
5A Case Study of Applying Metagenomic Sequencing in Precise Epidemiology for the COVID-19 Pandemic-Sichuan Province, China, 2020显示文摘Introduction:Determining the transmission chain of a virus in its incipient stages is extremely time consuming in traditional approaches that rely mainly on case incidence and interview-based contact data.With the development of high-throughput sequencing technology,genome-based epidemiology approach is showing promise in detecting viral transmission.However,there is still insufficient evidence for the relationship between the viral genetic variations and real viral transmission.Methods:To explore the possible relationship between transmission chains and viral genetic variations,we combined both epidemiological data and viral genomes of COVID-19 virus collected from Sichuan Province.A phylogenetic approach was used to infer the transmission chain,which was then compared to the transmission chain that came from epidemiological data.Results:We found that the putative transmission chains were highly concordant to the true transmission chains from epidemiological data,suggesting a strong correlation between viral genetic variations and the viral transmission chain.Discussion:Our results showed advantages of viral genomic sequencing in tracking and perceiving pathogen transmission,which allowed for potential improvements in the design and implementation of population-level public health interventions.Jianan Xu Ye Wang You Li Huiping Yang Ming Pan Jian Liu Lina Shi Yuliang Feng Li Liu Jin Li Li Zhang Shusen He 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,47:2

8Quartz crystal microbalance study of the kinetics of surface initiated polymerization显示文摘Surface initiated polymerization (SIP) is a valuable tool in synthesizing functional polymer brushes,yet the kinetic understanding of SIP lags behind the development of its application. We apply quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) to address two issues that are not fully addressed yet play a central role in the rational design of functional polymer brushes,namely quantitative determination of the kinetics and the initiator efficiency (IE) of SIP. SIP are monitored online using QCM. Two quantitative frequencythickness (f-T) relations make the direct determination and comparison of the rate of polymerization possible even for different monomers. Based on the bi-termination model,the kinetics of SIP is simply described by two variables,which are related to two polymerization constants,namely a = 1/(kp,s,app-[M][R·]0) and b = kt,s,app/(kp,s,app[M]). Factors that could alter the kinetics of SIP are studied,including (i) the molecular weight of monomers,(ii) the solvent used,(iii) the initial density of the initiator,(iv) the concentration of monomer,[M],and (v) the catalyst system (ratio among the ingredients,metal,ligands,and additives). The dynamic nature of IE is also described by these two variables,IE = a/(a + bt). Instead of the molecular weight and the polydispersity,we suggest that film thickness,the two kinetic parameters (a and b),and the initial density of the initiator and IE be the parameters that characterize ultrathin polymer brushes. 9Study on Effects of Organic Nutrient Solution on Amino Acid Contents in Litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) Fruit显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to investigate the effect of organic nutrient solution on litchi quality. [Methods] Different concentrations of organic nutrient solutions were sprayed on litchi leaves to study their effects on amino acid contents in the fruit of litchi cultivar 'Qinzhouhongli'. [Results] The results showed that the organic nutrient solution could significantly promote the growth of litchi fruit at various development stages and improve fruit quality by spraying the organic nutrient solution for 3 times with a dilution concentration of 500-1 500 times during fruit development(at an interval of 15 d) of litchi. It could increase the total essential amino acid, total semi-essential amino acid, lysine, phenylalanine, threonine, methionine, valine, leucine, histidine, arginine, aspartic acid, glycine, serine, proline, alanine and tyrosine contents. Spraying the organic nutrient solution with a dilution concentration of 1 000 times achieved the best effect of promoting the growth and improving quality of litchi fruit. 15Programmed cell death induced by modified clay in controlling Prorocentrum donghaiense bloom显示文摘Modified clay(MC),an effective material used for the emergency elimination of algal blooms,can rapidly reduce the biomass of harmful algal blooms(HABs)via flocculation.After that,MC can still control bloom population through indirect effects such as oxidative stress,whichwas initially proposed to be related to programmedcell death(PCD)at molecular level.To further study theMC induced cell death in residual bloom organisms,especially identifying PCD process,we studied the physiological state of the residual Prorocentrum donghaiense.The experimental results showed that flocculation changed the physiological state of the residual cells,as evidenced by growth inhibition and increased reactive oxygen species production.Moreover,this research provides biochemical and ultrastructural evidence showing that MC induces PCD in P.donghaiense.Nuclear changes were observed,and increased caspase-like activity,externalization of phosphatidylserine and DNA fragmentation were detected in MC-treated groups and quantified.And the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway was activated in both MC-treated groups.Besides,the features of MC-induced PCD in a unicellular organism were summarized and its concentration dependent manner was proved.All our preliminary results elucidate the mechanism through which MC can further control HABs by inducing PCD and suggest a promising application of PCD in bloom control.Hena Ji Zhiming Yu Liyan He Jianan Zhu Xihua Cao Xiuxian Song 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,11:1

17Novel self-assembled two-dimensional layered oxide structure incorporated with Au nanoinclusions towards multifunctionalities显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)layered oxides have recently attracted wide attention owing to the strong coupling among charges,spins,lattice,and strain,which allows great flexibility and opportunities in structure designs as well as multifunctionality exploration.In parallel,plasmonic hybrid nanostructures exhibit exotic localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)providing a broad range of applications in nanophotonic devices and sensors.A hybrid material platform combining the unique multifunctional 2D layered oxides and plasmonic nanostructures brings optical tuning into the new level.In this work,a novel self-assembled Bi2MoO6(BMO)2D layered oxide incorporated with plasmonic Au nanoinclusions has been demonstrated via one-step pulsed laser deposition(PLD)technique.Comprehensive microstructural characterizations,including scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM),differential phase contrast imaging(DPC),and STEM tomography,have demonstrated the high epitaxial quality and particle-in-matrix morphology of the BMO-Au nanocomposite film.DPC-STEM imaging clarifies the magnetic domain structures of BMO matrix.Three different BMO structures including layered supercell(LSC)and superlattices have been revealed which is attributed to the variable strain states throughout the BMO-Au film.Owing to the combination of plasmonic Au and layered structure of BMO,the nanocomposite film exhibits a typical LSPR in visible wavelength region and strong anisotropy in terms of its optical and ferromagnetic properties.This study opens a new avenue for developing novel 2D layered complex oxides incorporated with plasmonic metal or semiconductor phases showing great potential for applications in multifunctional nanoelectronics devices.Di Zhang Xingyao Gao Juanjuan Lu Ping Lu Julia Deitz Jianan Shen Hongyi Dou Zihao He Zhongxia Shang C.Austin Wade Xinghang Zhang Aiping Chen Haiyan Wang 2023Nano Research2023,16,1:0
18Efficacy of Online Learning and Influence on Skin and Eyes Among College Students显示文摘To evaluate the efficacy of online learning and explore the impact of long-term use of electronic products on facial skin as well as eyes.A cross-sectional survey was conducted to 180 sophomores in Xi′an Jiaotong University by cluster random sampling from September to October 2021.The questionnaire covering study condition,skin lesion and Ocular Surface Disease Index.χ2 test was used to compare the facial skin condition among different groups,and spearman correlation test was used to test the correlation of rank data.During online education,students′learning pressure is reduced,their autonomy is improved,and the learning efficiency is reduced.There were differences in the incidence of facial itching and papules among different groups.Duration of use of electronic products was positively correlated with the facial itching,with an r value of 0231(P<005);the proportion of pigmentation in non-blue light protection groups(128%)was higher than that in blue light protection groups(17%),the difference was statistically significant(χ2=8384,P<005).The prevalence of dry eye among college students is 667%,and the proportion of moderate to severe dry eye is 345%.The study autonomy has been improved during online teaching.Long-term use of electronic products and no blue light protection have an impact on facial skin.Students should enhance the knowledge of skin-care and eye-care and develop better habits.LUAN Mei LI Luyao CHEN Jianan ZHAO Yixin HE qiannan 2024International Journal of Plant Engineering and Management2024,29,1:0
19Predicting the pathological status of mammographic microcalcifications through a radiomics approach显示文摘Objective The study aimed to develop a machine learning(ML)-coupled interpretable radiomics signature to predict the pathological status of non-palpable suspicious breast microcalcifications(MCs).Methods We enrolled 463 digital mammographical view images from 260 consecutive patients detected with non-palpable MCs and BI-RADS scored at 4(training cohort,n=428;independent testing cohort,n=35)in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University between September 2010 and January 2019.Subsequently,837 textures and 9 shape features were subsequently extracted from each view and finally selected by an XGBoostembedded recursive feature elimination technique(RFE),followed by four machine learning-based classifiers to build the radiomics signature.Results Ten radiomic features constituted a malignancy-related signature for breast MCs as logistic regression(LR)and support vector machine(SVM)yielded better positive predictive value(PPV)/sensitivity(SE),0.904(95%CI,0.865–0.949)/0.946(95%CI,0.929–0.977)and 0.891(95%CI,0.822–0.939)/0.939(95%CI,0.907–0.973)respectively,outperforming their negative predictive value(NPV)/specificity(SP)from 10-fold crossvalidation(10FCV)of the training cohort.The optimal prognostic model was obtained by SVM with an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.906(95%CI,0.834–0.969)and accuracy(ACC)0.787(95%CI,0.680–0.855)from 10FCV against AUC 0.810(95%CI,0.760–0.960)and ACC 0.800 from the testing cohort.Conclusion The proposed radiomics signature dependens on a set of ML-based advanced computational algorithms and is expected to identify pathologically cancerous cases from mammographically undecipherable MCs and thus offer prospective clinical diagnostic guidance.Min Li Liyu Zhu Guangquan Zhou Jianan He Yanni Jiang Yang Chen 2021Intelligent Medicine2021,1,3:0
20Solution-processed wafer-scale nanoassembly of conducting polymers enables selective ultratrace nerve agent detection at low power显示文摘There is a great interest in developing microelectronic devices based on nanostructured conducting polymers that can selectively electro-couple analytes at high sensitivity and low power.Nanostructured conducting polymers have emerged as promising candidates for this technology due to their excellent stability with low redox potential,high conductivity,and selectivity endowed by chemical functionalization.However,it remains challenging to develop cost-effective and large-scale assembly approaches for functionalized conducting polymers in the practical fabrication of electronic devices.Here,we reported a straightforward waferscale assembly of nanostructured hexafluoroisopropanol functionalized poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT-HFIP)on smooth substrates.This approach is template-free,solution-processed,and adaptable to conductive and nonconductive substrates.By this approach,the nanostructured PEDOT-HFIPs could be easily integrated onto interdigitated electrodes with intimate ohmic contact.At the optimized space-to-volume ratio,we demonstrated a low-power,sensitive,and selective nerve agent sensing technology using this platform by detecting sarin vapor with a limit of detection(LOD)of 10 ppb and signal strength of 400 times the water interference at the same concentration,offering significant advantages over existing similar technologies.We envision that its easy scale-up,micro size,small power consumption,and combination of high sensitivity and selectivity make it attractive for various wearable platforms.Bin Luo Jianan Weng Zhi Geng Qichao Pan Xilin Pei Yong He Chuanzhi Chen Hongxing Zhang Renbo Wei Yupeng Yuan Jin Yang Jinyi Ma Zhengwei You Bo Zhu 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
