1Identification of a Stable Quantitative Trait Locus for Percentage Grains with White Chalkiness in Rice (Oryza sativa)显示文摘High chalkiness is a major problem in many rice-producing areas of the world, especially in hybrid rice (Oryza sativa L.) in China. We previously showed a major quantitative trait locus for the percentage of grains with white chalkiness (QTLqPGWC-8) in the interval G1149-R727 on chromosome 8 using a chromosome segment substitution line (CSSL). Here, we selected the line-CSSL50 harboring the QTLqPGWC-8 allele from the CSSLs derived from a cross between Asominori (as a recurrent parent) and IR24 (as a donor parent), which had higher percentage chalkiness, markedly different from that of Asominori. There were also significant differences in starch granules, appearance of amylose content (AAC) and milling qualities between Asominori and CSSL50, but not in grain size or thousand grain weight (TGW). The BC4F2 and BC4F3 populations from a cross between CSSL50 and Asominori were used for fine mapping of qPGWC-8. We narrowed down the location of this QTL to a 142 kb region between Indel markers 8G-7 and 8G-9. QTLqPGWC-8 accounted for 50.9% of the difference in PGWC between the parents. 2Genome-wide characterization and analysis of b HLH transcription factors in Panax ginseng显示文摘Ginseng(Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) is one of the best-selling herbal medicines, with ginsenosides as its main pharmacologically active constituents. Although extensive chemical and pharmaceutical studies of these compounds have been performed, genome-wide studies of the basic helix-loop-helix(b HLH) transcription factors of ginseng are still limited. The b HLH transcription factor family is one of the largest transcription factor families found in eukaryotic organisms, and these proteins are involved in a myriad of regulatory processes. In our study, 169 bHLH transcription factor genes were identified in the genome of P. ginseng, and phylogenetic analysis indicated that these PGb HLHs could be classified into 24 subfamilies. A total of 21 RNA-seq data sets, including two sequencing libraries for jasmonate(JA)-responsive and 19 reported libraries for organ-specific expression analyses were constructed. Through a combination of gene-specific expression patterns and chemical contents,6 PGbHLH genes from 4 subfamilies were revealed to be potentially involved in the regulation of ginsenoside biosynthesis. These 6 PGbHLHs, which had distinct target genes, were further divided into two groups depending on the absence of MYC-N structure. 3Isolation and characterization of Sporobolomyces sp. LF1 capable of degrading chlorimuron-ethyl显示文摘A yeast strain which was capable of degrading sulfonylurea herbicide chlorimuron-ethyl named as LF1 was isolated from a chlorimuron-ethyl contaminated soil near the warehouse of the factory producing chlorimuron-ethyl in Shenyang City,Northeast China. The strain was identified as Sporobolomyces sp.,based on its morphological and physiological characteristics and the phylogenetic analysis of 18S rRNA gene sequence.So far,this is the only yeast strain of Sporobolomyces sp.which is able to degrade chlorimuron-ethyl.Incubation tests showed that when the initial concentration of chlorimuron-ethyl in culture was 5 mg/L,LF1 could degrade more than 77%of the herbicide after incubation for 4 d at 30°C.The possible mechanism of chlorimuron-ethyl degradation by LF1 could be the acidic hydrolysis caused by the acids from the metabolism of the yeast strain.Further study should be conducted to examine the pathways of chlorimuron-ethyl degradation by LF1 and to approach the feasibility of using LF1 to degrade the chlorimuron-ethyl in soil system.ZHANG Xiaoli ZHANG Huiwen LI Xu SU Zhencheng WANG Jingjing ZHANG Chenggang 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,9:10
4Reducing oxidative stress and hepatoprotective effect of water extracts from Pu-erh tea on rats with high-fat diet显示文摘Reducing oxidative stress and hepatoprotective effect of Pu-erh tea water extracts on rats fed with high-fat diet were researched for explaining health care of Pu-erh tea.Fifty SD rats were divided into five groups.The body weight was measured once a day.The malondialdehyde(MDA)and glucose(Glu)levels and the activities of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),nitric oxide synthase(NOS),and pyruvate kinase(PK)in serum were determined.Furthermore,the hepatic glycogen level(HGL)and the activities of hepatic total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD),catalase(CAT),and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)were also measured after continuous administration for 12 weeks.The result demonstrated that Pu-erh extract caused the decreases in body weight,fat index,MDA and NOS levels,and the increases in hepatic T-SOD,CAT and GSH-Px activities,indicating that the extract may be due to inhibiting the increases of body weight and fat index,reducing oxidant stress state and inhibiting lipid peroxidation,thus decreasing the activities of ALT and AST,and protecting the liver in rat.Meanwhile,the extracts could increase the production of hepatic glycogen and the activity of PK,and reduce glucose level,protecting the liver from the diseases associated with type II diabetes.Jingjing Su Xueqing Wang Wenjun Song Xiaoli Bai Changwen Li 2016Food Science and Human Wellness2016,5,4:9
5Histone Deacetylase HDA9 and WRKY53 Transcription Factor Are Mutual Antagonists in Regulation of Plant Stress Response显示文摘Epigenetic regulation of gene expression is important for plant adaptation to environm ental changes.Previous results showed that Arabidopsis RPD3-like histone deacetylase HDA9 is known to function in repressing plant response to stress in Arabidopsis.However,how HDA9 targets to specific chromatin loci and controls gene expression netw orks involved in plant response to stress remains largely unclear.Here,we show that HDA9 represses stress tolerance response by interacting with and regulating the DNA binding and transcriptional activity of WRKY53,which functions as a high-hierarchy positive regulator of stress response.We found that WRKY53 is post-translationally modified by lysine acetylation at multiple sites,some of which are removed by HDA9,resulting in inhibition of WRKY53 transcription activity.Conversely,WRKY53 negatively regulates HDA9 histone deacetylase activity.Collectively,our results indicate that HDA9 and WRK53 are reciprocal negative regulators of each other's activities,illustrating how the functional interplay between a chromatin regulator and a transcription factor regulates stress tolerance in plants.Yu Zheng Jingyu Ge Chun Bao Wenwen Chang Jingjing Liu Jingjie Shao Xiaoyun Liu Lufang Su Lei Pan Dao-Xiu Zhou 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,4:6
6Zr-MOFs loaded on polyurethane foam by polydopamine for enhanced dye adsorption显示文摘Zirconium-based metal-organic frameworks(Zr-MOFs)have attracted widespread attention due to their high specific surface area,high porosity,abundant metal active sites and excellent hydrothermal stability.However,Zr-MOFs materials are mostly powdery in nature and thus difficult to separate from aqueous media,which limits their application in wastewater treatment.In this study,PDA/Zr-MOFs/PU foam was constructed by growing Zr-MOFs nanoparticles on a dopamine-modified polyurethane foam substrate by in-situ hydrothermal synthesis as an adsorbent for removing dyes from wastewater.The results demonstrated that the polydopamine coating improves the dispersion of the Zr-MOFs nanoparticles on the substrate and enhances the interaction between the Zr-MOFs nanoparticles and the PU foam substrate.As a result,compared with Zr-MOFs/PU foam,the prepared PDA/ZrMOFs/PU foam exhibits higher adsorption capacity for crystal violet(CV)(63.38 mg/g)and rhodamine B(RB)(67.73 mg/g),with maximum adsorption efficiencies of CV and RB of 98.4%(pH=11)and 93.5%(pH=7),respectively,at a concentration of 10 mg/L.The PDA/Zr-MOFs/PU foam can simultaneously remove CV and RB from the mixed solution.Moreover,the PDA/ZrMOFs/PU foam still exhibits high stability and reusability after five cycles.Jingjing Zhao Linqiong Xu Yaozhuo Su Hongwei Yu Hui Liu Shaoping Qian Wenge Zheng Yongqing Zhao 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,3:6
7Bismuth nanosheets as a Q-switcher for a mid-infrared erbium-doped SrF_2 laser显示文摘Bismuth nanosheets(Bi-NSs) were successfully prepared and employed as saturable absorbers to generate a diodepumped dual-wavelength Er^(3+):SrF_2 laser in the mid-infrared region. Q-switched pulses with a maximum output power of 0.226 W were obtained at an absorbed pump power of 1.97 W. A repetition rate of 56.20 kHz and a minimum pulse duration of 980 ns were achieved. To the best of our knowledge, we present the first application of Bi-NSs in a mid-infrared all-solid-state laser. 9Automated X-ray recognition of solder bump defects based on ensemble-ELM显示文摘Solder bumps realize the mechanical and electrical interconnection between chips and substrates in surface mount components,such as flip chip, wafer level packaging and three-dimensional integration. With the trend to smaller and lighter electronics,solder bumps decrease in dimension and pitch in order to achieve higher I/O density. Automated and nondestructive defect inspection of solder bumps becomes more difficult. Machine learning is a way to recognize the solder bump defects online and overcome the effect caused by the human eye-fatigue. In this paper, we proposed an automated and nondestructive X-ray recognition method for defect inspection of solder bumps. The X-ray system captured the images of the samples and the solder bump images were segmented from the sample images. Seven features including four geometric features, one texture feature and two frequency-domain features were extracted. The ensemble-ELM was established to recognize the defects intelligently. The results demonstrated the high recognition rate compared to the single-ELM. 12Hidden Phase Space Reconstruction: A Novel Chaotic Time Series Prediction Method for Speech Signals显示文摘Speech signals are nonlinear chaotic time series. This paper proposes a novel speech signal nonlinear prediction model with the hidden phase space reconstruction method. The parameters, embedding dimension m, time delay τ and model structure are solved simultaneously, breaking the restriction of phase space, which needs to be reconstructed before modeling for the existing prediction method. Subsequently, an explicit speech signal prediction model is generated. Meanwhile, the introduction of the frame length parameter k effectively extends the prediction length. Experimental results show that the values of m and τ solved by the proposed method are consistent with the values addressed by the Cao method and mutual information method, respectively. In addition, the optimal value of k is further discussed. 13Particulate matter pollution in Kunshan High-Tech zone: Source apportionment with trace elements, plume evolution and its monitoring显示文摘Particulate matter(PM) in the Kunshan High-Tech zone is studied during a three-month campaign. PM and trace elements are measured by the online pollution monitoring, forecastwarning and source term retrieval system AS3. Hourly measured concentrations of PM_(10), PM_(2.5) and 16 trace elements in the PM_(2.5) section(Ca, Pb, Cu, Cl, V, Cr, Fe, Ti, Mn, Ni, Zn, Ga, As, Se, Sr, Ba)are focused. Source apportionment of trace elements by Positive Matrix Factorization modeling indicates that there are five major sources, including dust, industrial processing, traffic,combustion, and sea salt with contribution rate of 23.68%, 21.66%, 14.30%, 22.03%, and 6.89%,respectively. Prediction of plume dispersion from concrete plant and traffic emissions shows that PM_(10) pollution of concrete plant is three orders of magnitude more than that of the traffic. The influence range can extend to more than 3 km in 1 hr. Because the footprint of the industrial plumes is constantly moving according to the local meteorological conditions, the fixed monitoring sites scattered in a few hundred meters haven't captured the heaviest pollution plume at the local scale of a few km^2. As a more intensive monitoring network is not operationally possible, the use of online modeling gives accurate and quantitative information of plume location, which increases the spatial pollution monitoring capacity and improves the understanding of measurement data. 19Identification of two migratory colon ILC2 populations differentially expressing IL-17A and IL-5/IL-13显示文摘Group 2 innate lymphoid cells(ILC2s)play important tissue resident roles in anti-parasite immunity,allergic immune response,tissue homeostasis,and tumor immunity.ILC2s are considered tissue resident cells with little proliferation at steady state.Recent studies have shown that a subset of small intestinal ILC2s could leave their residing tissues,circulate and migrate to different organs,including lung,liver,mesenteric LN and spleen,upon activation.However,it remains unknown whether other ILC populations with migratory behavior exist.In this study,we find two major colon ILC2 populations with potential to migrate to the lung in response to IL-25 stimulation.One subset expresses IL-17A and resembles inflammatory ILC2s(iILC2s)but lacks CD27 expression,whereas the other expresses CD27 but not IL-17A.In addition,the IL-17A^(+)ILC2s express lower levels of CD127,CD25,and ST2 than CD27^(+)ILC2s,which express higher levels of IL-5 and IL-13.Surprisingly,we found that both colon ILC2 populations still maintained their colonic features of preferential expression of IL-17A and CD27,IL-5/IL-13,respectively.Together,our study identifies two migratory colon ILC2 subsets with unique surface markers and cytokine profiles which are critical in regulating lung and colon immunity and homeostasis.Hongzhi Liu Liang Li Yanyun Hao Jialu Li Zhaoyuan Liu Jingjing Qi Jingjing Zhang Ningbo Wu Dandan Wu Caixia Gao Lei Chen Lei Shen Jinke Cheng Bing Su 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,1:1
