| 1 | Provenance of Central Canyon in Qiongdongnan Basin as evidenced by detrital zircon U-Pb study of Upper Miocene sandstones显示文摘Deep-water canyon systems can provide important sandstone reservoirs for deep-water oil and gas exploration in the South China Sea;however,the sedimentary provenance of the Central Canyon in the Qiongdongnan Basin remains controversial.In this work,detrital zircon grains from three drilling sandstones in the Upper Miocene Huangliu Formation in the western part of the Central Canyon were analysed by LA-ICP-MS for U-Pb ages,in order to constrain their provenance.One hundred and ninety-one zircon grains yield concordant U-Pb ages ranging from 28.6 to 3285 Ma.Most of them show oscillatory or linear zoning in CL-images and high Th/U ratios(>0.1),suggesting that they are magmatic zircons.Three major age clusters at about30 Ma(N=6),220–270 Ma(N=29),and 420–440 Ma(N=13),and five minor age clusters at 70–110 Ma(N=7),150–170 Ma(N=4),800–850 Ma(N=11),1800–2000 Ma(N=16),and 2400–2600 Ma(N=7),can be identified in the age spectrum,which are very similar to those of the Upper Miocene sandstones and modern river sands in the Red River area,but different from those of other nearby regions(e.g.,Hainan Island,the Pearl River area,and the Mekong River area)in Southeast Asia.The major age peak at about 30 Ma in our samples is consistent with the timing of tectonothermal events in the Red River Fault Zone.Therefore,we suggest that the provenance of the western part of the Central Canyon,in the Qiongdongnan Basin,was fed dominantly by the Paleo-Red River system during the Late Miocene. | CHEN Hui XIE XiNong GUO JingLiang SU Ming ZONG KeQing SHANG Fei HUANG Wei WANG Wei SHANG ZhiLei | 2015 | Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,8: | 6 |

| 4 | Non-matrix-matched analysis of U-Th-Pb geochronology of bastn?site by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry显示文摘Bastn?site is widespread in alkali granite, carbonatite and REE ore deposits. The U-Th-Pb ages of bastn?site can constrain the mineralization age. Currently, the lack of suitable in situ analysis reference material is the major obstacle of bastn?site U-Th-Pb geochronology. In this study, the matrix effects of U-Pb and Th-Pb age determination in bastn?site using glass NIST 610 as the external calibration reference were evaluated with the 193-nm excimer LA-ICP-MS analysis in normal and additional gases laser ablation modes. The obtained U-Th-Pb ages of bastn?site were approximately 7–11% lower than their reference values in the normal analytical mode(without additional gas). Fortunately, the determined systematic age biases in UTh-Pb dating were significantly reduced(less than 1–2%) with the addition of water vapor within the ablation chamber. This reduction may be attributed to the observed significant suppression of206 Pb/238 U and208 Pb/232 Th downhole fractionation in both NIST 610 glass and bastn?site by introducing a small quantity of water vapor in the ablation chamber. In addition, the obtained206 Pb/238 U and208 Pb/232 Th ages of bastn?site K-9, LZ1384, and MAD809 showed great consistency with their corresponding recommended values. The obtained results show that accurate and precise U-Th-Pb ages of bastn?site can be simultaneously obtained by using glass NIST 610 as the primary calibration standard in 193-nm LA-ICP-MS with the water vapor-assisted method. | 10 | Decoupling of Lu-Hf and Sm-Nd Isotopic System in Deep-Seated Xenoliths from the Xuzhou-Suzhou Area,China: Differences in Element Mobility during Metamorphism显示文摘This paper presents whole-rock Hf isotopic data for a suite of eclogite and garnet clinopyroxenite xenoliths hosted in the Early Cretaceous dioritic intrusions from the Xuzhou-Suzhou area along the southeastern margin of the Eastern Block of the North China Craton(NCC).Six of the eight studied xenolith samples plot significantly above the terrestrial Hf-Nd isotopic array and haveεHf(0)value up to+60.All the samples define a well correlated 147 Sm/144 Nd-143 Nd/144 Nd age of 2081 Ma,which is considered to record the granulite-facies metamorphism.In contrast,the Lu-Hf isotope system faithfully records the protolith information.The mineralogical assemblage,especially garnet and/or zircon(rutile to some extent)mainly controlled the decoupling of Hf-Nd isotope.The metamorphic modification on protolith characteristics and the differences in element mobility during metamorphism may also reinforce the observed decoupling between the Sm-Nd and Lu-Hf isotope systems;i.e.,the absence of the correlations inεNd-εHf and also 87 Sr/86 Sr-143 Nd/144 Nd diagram.The Lu/Hf isochron age of 2424 Ma is similar to the zircon age peak of the studied xenoliths and the dominant age of NCC basement,indicating that the igneous protolith has an affinity to the Archean basement of the NCC.Furthermore,the positiveεHf(t)values at 2500 Ma indicate a crustal growth event of 2500 Ma in the NCC. | Fanxue Meng Wenliang Xu Qinglin Xu Jingliang Guo Yu Zhang | 2019 | Journal of Earth Science2019,30,6: | 1 |
| 11 | Crustal Contamination of the Mantle-Derived Liuyuan Basalts:Implications for the Permian Evolution of the Southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt显示文摘The Permian basalts in the Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB)are crucial for constraining the closure of the Paleo-Asian Ocean.However,the origin of these basalts is still under discussion.Here,we present comprehensive bulk-rock geochemical,Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf isotopic,and zircon U-Pb-Lu-Hf isotopic data of the Liuyuan basalts and coexisting gabbros,which are located in the Beishan Orogen in the southern CAOB,to constrain their emplacement setting and tectonic implications.Our new gabbro ages of ca.288–294 Ma are interpreted to represent the formation time of the Liuyuan basaltic belt.The Liuyuan basalts show MORB-like rare earth element(REE)patterns and bulk-rockε_(Hf)(t)andε_(Nd)(t)values of 11.0–15.4 and 4.6–9.2,respectively,suggesting an origination mainly from a depleted mantle source.However,positive Pb anomalies,Nb-Ta depletions,and high Th/Yb ratios as well as evolved Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf isotopic compositions of some samples indicate variable continental crustal contribution.According to the covariation of Pb anomalies(Pb^(*)=2×Pb_(N)/(Ce_(N)+Pr_(N)))with Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf isotopic compositions,we speculate that parent magma of the Liuyuan basalt was contaminated by continental crustal materials during the eruption rather than having been generated from an enriched mantle source.As revealed by mixing modelling,the Liuyuan basaltic magmas would require a minor(<10%)upper continental crustal assimilation to explain the enriched trace elemental and radiogenic Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf isotopic signatures.Consequently,the Liuyuan basaltic belt is believed to have been generated in a continental extensional environment instead of an oceanic setting and does not constitute a Permian ophiolitic suture zone as previously suggested,since the Paleo-Asian Ocean was already closed in the southern Beishan Orogen in the Early Permian. | Yuanyang Yu Keqing Zong Yu Yuan Reiner Klemd Xin-Shui Wang Jingliang Guo Rong Xu Zhaochu Hu Yongsheng Liu | 2022 | Journal of Earth Science2022,33,5: | 0 |
| 12 | Enlarged fins of Tibetan catfish provide new evidence of adaptation to high plateau显示文摘The uplift of the Tibetan Plateau significantly altered the geomorphology and climate of the Euroasia by creating large mountains and rivers.Fishes are more likely to be affected relative to other organisms,as they are largely restricted to river systems.Faced with the rapidly flowing water in the Tibetan Plateau,a group of catfish has evolved greatly enlarged pectoral fins with more numbers of fin-rays to form an adhesive apparatus.However,the genetic basis of these adaptations in Tibetan catfishes remains elusive.In this study,we performed comparative genomic analyses based on the chromosome-level genome of Glyptosternum maculatum in family Sisoridae and detected some proteins with conspicuously high evolutionary rates in particular in genes involved in skeleton development,energy metabolism,and hypoxia response.We found that the hoxd12a gene evolved faster and a loss-of-function assay of hoxd12a supports a potential role for this gene in shaping the enlarged fins of these Tibetan catfishes.Other genes with amino acid replacements and signatures of positive selection included proteins involved in low temperature(TRMU)and hypoxia(VHL)responses.Functional assays reveal that the G.maculatum TRMU allele generates more mitochondrial ATP than the ancestral allele found in low-altitude fishes.Functional assays of VHL alleles suggest that the G.maculatum allele has lower transactivation activity than the low-altitude forms.These findings provide a window into the genomic underpinnings of physiological adaptations that permit G.maculatum to survive in the harsh environment of the Tibetan Himalayas that mirror those that are convergently found in other vertebrates such as humans. | Liandong Yang Ning Sun Honghui Zeng Ying Wang Wenjun Chen Zufa Ding Yang Liu Jing Wang Minghui Meng Yanjun Shen Jingliang Kang Xiuhui Ma Wenqi Lv Juan Chen Axel Meyer Baocheng Guo Shunping He | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,7: | 0 |
| 13 | A comparison study of hydrogen storage performances of SmMg_(11)Ni alloys prepared by melt spinning and ball milling显示文摘The melt spinning(MS) and ball milling(BM) technologies are thought to be efficient to prepare nanostructured Mg and Mg-based alloys for improving their hydrogen storage performances. In this paper, two technologies, viz. melt spinning and ball milling, were employed to fabricate the SmMg_(11)Ni alloy. The structure and hydrogen storage performance of these two kinds of alloys were researched in detail. The results reveal that the as-spun and milled alloys both contain nanocrystalline and amorphous structures. By means of the measurement of PCT curves, the thermodynamic parameters of the alloys prepared by MS and BM are ΔN_(Ms)(des) = 82.51 kJ/mol and ΔH_(BM)(des) = 81.68 kJ/mol, respectively, viz.ΔH_(MS)(des) > ΔH_(BM)(des). The as-milled alloy shows a larger hydrogen absorption capacity as compared with the as-spun one. The as-milled alloy exhibits lower onset hydrogen desorption temperature than the as-spun one. As to the as-milled and spun alloys, the onset hydrogen desorption temperatures are557.6 and 565.3 K, respectively. Additionally, the as-milled alloy shows a superior hydrogen desorption property than the as-spun one. On the basis of time that required by desorbing hydrogen of 3 wt% H_2, the as-milled alloy needs 1488.574,390 and 192 s corresponding to hydrogen desorption temperatures 593,613,633 and 653 K, while the as-spun alloy needs 3600,1020,778 and 306 s corresponding to the same temperatures. | 14 | Oleophobic interaction mediated slippery organogels with ameliorated mechanical performance and satisfactory fouling-resistance显示文摘Owing to their inherent semi-solid property and lubricant ability,organogels manifest various unique characteristics and serve as promising candidates for antifouling.However,the poor mechanical properties of organogels often limit their practical applications.Herein,we report a simple and effective method to prepare organogels with reinforced mechanical performance and surface lubricant ability with the synergistic roles played by oleophobic and oleophilic chains.The rigid oleophobic chains have a poor affinity to lubricating solvent,which gives rise to high oleophobic interactions between polymer networks;the soft oleophilic chains possess a high affinity to the low surface energy solvent,which lead to high solvent content to maintain the satisfactory lubricant capacity.The organogel of oleophobic methyl methacrylate(MMA)and oleophilic lauryl methacrylate(LMA)is chosen as a representative example to illustrate this concept.With the optimal composition,the as-prepared organogels offer satisfactory tensile fracture stress,fracture strain,Young’s modulus,toughness,and tearing fracture energy of 480 k Pa,550%,202 k Pa,1.14 MJ m,and 5.14 k J m,respectively,which are far beyond the classical PLMA organogels.Furthermore,the biofouling resistance tests demonstrate 4 to 9-fold reduction of protein and bacteria adhesion on the reinforced organogels surface in comparison to the glass substrate and solvent-free dry organogels.This simple and effective approach to toughen organogels,we hope,can be applied in various fields with different practical functional requirements in the future. | Liangpeng Zeng Hongyuan Cui Huilan Peng Xiaohang Sun Yi Liu Jingliang Huang Xinxing Lin Hui Guo Wei-Hua Li | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,26: | 0 |
