Enhancing the expansion of a plasma shockwave by crater-induced laser refocusing in femtosecond laser ablation of fused silica显示文摘The dynamics of plasma and shockwave expansion during two femtosecond laser pulse ablation of fused silica are studied using a time-resolved shadowgraph imaging technique. The experimental results reveal that during the second pulse irradiation on the crater induced by the first pulse, the expansion of the plasma and shockwave is enhanced in the longitudinal direction. The plasma model and Fresnel diffraction theory are combined to calculate the laser intensity distribution by considering the change in surface morphology and transient material properties. The theoretical results show that after the free electron density induced by the rising edge of the pulse reaches the critical density, the originally transparent surface is transformed into a transient high-reflectivity surface(metallic state). Thus, the crater with a concave-lens-like morphology can tremendously reflect and refocus the latter part of the laser pulse, leading to a strong laser field with an intensity even higher than the incident intensity. This strong refocused laser pulse results in a stronger laser-induced air breakdown and enhances the subsequent expansion of the plasma and shockwave. In addition, similar shadowgraphs are also recorded in the single-pulse ablation of a concave microlens, providing experimental evidence for the enhancement mechanism. | QINGSONG WANG LAN JIANG JINGYA SUN CHANGJI PAN WEINA HAN GUOYAN WANG HAO ZHANG COSTAS P.GRIGOROPOULOS YONGFENG LU | 2017 | Photonics Research2017,5,5: | 5
Glacier variations and their response to climate change in an arid inland river basin of Northwest China显示文摘Glaciers are a critical freshwater resource of river recharge in arid areas around the world. In recent decades, glaciers have shown evidence of retreat due to climate change, and the accelerated ablation of glaciers and associated impacts on water resources have received widespread attention.Glacier variations result from climate change,so they can serve as an indicator of climate change.Considering the climatic differences in different elevation ranges,it is worthwhile to explore whether different responses exist between glacier area and air temperature in each elevation zone.In this study,we selected a typical arid inland river basin(Sugan Lake Basin)in the western Qilian Mountains of Northwest China to analyze the glacier variations and their response to climate change. The glacier area data from 1989 to 2016 were delineated using Landsat Thematic Mapper(TM),Enhanced TM+(ETM+)and Operational Land Imager(OLI)images. We compared the relationships between glacier area and air temperature at seven meteorological stations in the glacier-covered areas and in the Sugan Lake Basin, and further analyzed the relationship between glacier area and mean air temperature of the glacier surfaces in July–August in the elevation range of 4700–5500 m a.s.l.by the linear regression method and correlation analysis. In addition, based on the linear regression relationship established between glacier area and air temperature in each elevation zone,we predicted glacier areas under future climate scenarios during the periods of 2046–2065 and 2081–2100.The results indicate that the glaciers experienced a remarkable shrinkage from 1989 to 2016 with a shrinkage rate of–1.61 km^2/a(–0.5%/a),and the rising temperature is the decisive factor dominating glacial retreat;there is a significant negative linear correlation between glacier area and mean air temperature of the glacier surfaces in July–August in each elevation zone from 1989 to 2016.The variations in glaciers are far less sensitive to changes in precipitation than to changes in air temperature.Due to the influence of climate and topographic conditions, the distribution of glacier area and the rate of glacier ablation first increased and then decreased in different elevation zones. The trend in glacier shrinkage will continue because air temperature will continue to increase in the future, and the result of glacier retreat in each elevation zone will be slightly slower than that in the entire study area.Quantitative glacier research can more accurately reflect the response of glacier variations to climate change, and the regression relationship can be used to predict the areas of glaciers under future climate scenarios. These conclusions can offer effective references for assessing glacier variations and their response to climate change in arid inland river basins in Northwest China as well as other similar regions in the world. | ZHOU Zuhao HAN Ning LIU Jiajia YAN Ziqi XU Chongyu CAI Jingya SHANGYizi ZHU Jiasong | 2020 | Journal of Arid Land2020,12,3: | 2
A Review of Co-processing of Kitchen Waste and Municipal Residual Sludge显示文摘In this paper, the methods of kitchen waste disposal in recent years were summed up,and the advantages and disadvantages of the current treatment methods were analyzed. At the same time,it has been found that the co-processing of kitchen waste and residual sludge not only has dealt with both kitchen waste and residual sludge, but also the carbon and nitrogen ratio and moisture content of the mixture are balanced, and increases the processing efficiency significantly. It has a certain processing advantage. At present, most research is about the anaerobic digestion of kitchen waste and residual sludge, and the process is more mature, but the study of VFAs accumulation is still insufficient. Aerobic composting is still in the early stage of development, and there are few studies on it at home and abroad. Meanwhile, prospects for the kitchen waste recycling were made in this article. | Han Houfeng Zhuang Pingfang Liu Mei Rong Zhenying Weng Yisong Chen Qingguo Sun Jingya | 2018 | Meteorological and Environmental Research2018,9,4: | 2
Structure-Mediated Excitation of Air Plasma and Silicon Plasma Expansion in Femtosecond Laser Pulses Ablation显示文摘Femtosecond laser-induced surface structures upon multiple pulses irradiation are strongly correlated with the pulse number, which in turn signifcantly afects successive laser-material interactions.By recording the dynamics of femtosecond laser ablation of silicon using time-resolved shadowgraphy, here we present direct visualization of the excitation of air plasma induced by the refected laser during the second pulse irradiation.Te interaction of the air plasma and silicon plasma is found to enhance the shockwave expansion induced by silicon ablation in the longitudinal direction, showing anisotropic expansion dynamics in diferent directions. We further demonstrate the vanishing of air plasma as the pulse number increases because of the generation of a rough surface without light focusing ability. In the scenario, the interaction of air plasma and silicon plasma disappears;the expansion of the silicon plasma and shockwave restores its original characteristic that is dominated by the laser-material coupling.Te results show that the excitation of air plasma and the laser-material coupling involved in laser-induced plasma and shockwave expansion are structure mediated and dependent on the pulse number, which is of fundamental importance for deep insight into the nature of laser-material interactions during multiple pulses ablation. | Qingsong Wang Lan Jiang Jingya Sun Changji Pan Weina Han Guoyan Wang Feifei Wang Kaihu Zhang Ming Li Yongfeng Lu | 2018 | Research2018,,1: | 2

Spin-decoupled metalens with intensity-tunable multiple focal points显示文摘The control of spin electromagnetic(EM)waves is of great significance in optical communications.Although geometric metasurfaces have shown unprecedented capability to manipulate the wavefronts of spin EM waves,it is still challenging to independently manipulate each spin state and intensity distribution, which inevitably degrades metasurface-based devices for further applications. Here we propose and experimentally demonstrate an approach to designing spin-decoupled metalenses based on pure geometric phase,i.e.,geometric metasurfaces with predesigned phase modulation possessing functionalities of both convex lenses and concave lenses.Under the illumination of left-/right-handed circularly polarized(LCP or RCP)terahertz(THz)waves, these metalenses can generate transversely/longitudinally distributed RCP/LCP multiple focal points.Since the helicity-dependent multiple focal points are locked to the polarization state of incident THz waves, the relative intensity between two orthogonal components can be controlled with different weights of LCP and RCP THz waves, leading to the intensity-tunable functionality. This robust approach for simultaneously manipulating orthogonal spin states and energy distributions of spin EM waves will open a new avenue for designing multifunctional devices and integrated communication systems. | BINGSHUANG YAO XIAOFEI ZANG YANG ZHU DAHAI YU JINGYA XIE LIN CHEN SEN HAN YIMING ZHU SONGLIN ZHUANG | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,6: | 1

New Zircon U-Pb Ages of the Shirenshan Gneiss, North Qinling and Their Geological Implications显示文摘The Qinling Orogenic Belt(QOB)is a composite continental orogenic belt that has experienced many tectonic events. The QOB is subdivided into the following three litho-tectonic units:the North Qinling terrane, the Middle Qinling microplate and the South Qinling terrane. The North Qinling Terrane(NQT)underwent destruction and lithospheric thinning during the late Mesozoic, accompanied by extensive magmatic activity and increased surface heat flux, led to large-scale tectonic extension(e.g.,Ren Shenglian et al.,2016).The Shirenshan gneiss is located along the contact between the NQT and the North China Block(Fig.1).Previous studies suggested that it was produced as a result of the northward subduction of the NQT beneath the North China Block(e.g.,Wang Jingya et al.,2017).Therefore,it is significant to study its structural geology, petrology, geochemistry and chronology in order to understand the tectonic settings and the interaction between the Middle Qinling microplate and the North China Block. | WANG Jingya REN Shenglian JIANG Dazhi DONG Shuwen LI Jiahao LI Longming GE Can SONG Chuanzhong HAN Xu LI Zhenqiang | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,1: | 0

An integrative profiling of metabolome and transcriptome in the plasma and skeletal muscle following an exercise intervention in diet-induced obese mice显示文摘Exercise intervention at the early stage of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)can aid in the maintenance of blood glucose homeostasis and prevent the development of macrovascular and microvascular complications. However, the exercise-regulated pathways that prevent the development of T2DM remain largely unclear. In this study, two forms of exercise intervention, treadmill training and voluntary wheel running, were conducted for high-fat diet(HFD)-induced obese mice.We observed that both forms of exercise intervention alleviated HFD-induced insulin resistance and glucose intolerance.Skeletal muscle is recognized as the primary site for postprandial glucose uptake and for responsive alteration beyond exercise training.Metabolomic profiling of the plasma and skeletal muscle in Chow,HFD,and HFD-exercise groups revealed robust alterations in metabolic pathways by exercise intervention in both cases.Overlapping analysis identified nine metabolites, including beta-alanine,leucine,valine,and tryptophan, which were reversed by exercise treatment in both the plasma and skeletal muscle.Transcriptomic analysis of gene expression profiles in the skeletal muscle revealed several key pathways involved in the beneficial effects of exercise on metabolic homeostasis. In addition, integrative transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses uncovered strong correlations between the concentrations of bioactive metabolites and the expression levels of genes involved in energy metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and immune response in the skeletal muscle. This work established two models of exercise intervention in obese mice and provided mechanistic insights into the beneficial effects of exercise intervention on systemic energy homeostasis. | Shuang Han Qingqian Wu Mengying Wang Miqi Yang Chen Sun Jiaqi Liang Xiaozhen Guo Zheyu Zhang Jingya Xu Xinyuan Qiu Cen Xie Siyu Chen Yue Gao Zhuo-Xian Meng | 2023 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2023,15,3: | 0

Bias Correction and Ensemble Projections of Temperature Changes over Ten Subregions in CORDEX East Asia显示文摘Regional climate models(RCMs)participating in the Coordinated Regional Downscaling Experiment(CORDEX)have been widely used for providing detailed climate change information for specific regions under different emissions scenarios. This study assesses the effects of three common bias correction methods and two multi-model averaging methods in calibrating historical(1980−2005)temperature simulations over East Asia.Future(2006−49)temperature trends under the Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP)4.5 and 8.5 scenarios are projected based on the optimal bias correction and ensemble averaging method. Results show the following:(1)The driving global climate model and RCMs can capture the spatial pattern of annual average temperature but with cold biases over most regions, especially in the Tibetan Plateau region.(2)All bias correction methods can significantly reduce the simulation biases. The quantile mapping method outperforms other bias correction methods in all RCMs,with a maximum relative decrease in root-mean-square error for five RCMs reaching 59.8%(HadGEM3-RA),63.2%(MM5),51.3%(RegCM),80.7%(YSU-RCM)and 62.0%(WRF).(3)The Bayesian model averaging(BMA)method outperforms the simple multi-model averaging(SMA)method in narrowing the uncertainty of bias-corrected results. For the spatial correlation coefficient, the improvement rate of the BMA method ranges from 2%to 31%over the 10 subregions, when compared with individual RCMs.(4)For temperature projections, the warming is significant, ranging from 1.2°C to 3.5°C across the whole domain under the RCP8.5 scenario.(5)The quantile mapping method reduces the uncertainty over all subregions by between 66%and 94%. | Chenwei SHEN Qingyun DUAN Chiyuan MIAO Chang XING Xuewei FAN Yi WU Jingya HAN | 2020 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,11: | 0
