| 2 | Climatological distribution and diurnal variation of mesoscale convective systems over China and its vicinity during summer显示文摘The climatological distribution of mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) over China and its vicinity during summer is statistically analyzed, based on the 10-year (1996―2006, 2004 excluded) June-August infrared TBB (Temperature of black body) dataset. Comparing the results obtained in this paper with the distribution of thunderstorms from surface meteorological stations over China and the distribution of lightning from low-orbit satellites over China and its vicinity in the previous studies, we find that the statistic characteristics of TBB less than -52℃ can better represent the spatiotemporal distribution of MCSs over China and its vicinity during summer.The spreading pattern of the MCSs over this region shows three transmeridional bands of active MCSs, with obvious fluctuation of active MCSs in the band near 30°N. It can be explained by the atmospheric circulation that the three bands of active MCSs are associated with each other by the summer monsoon over East Asia. We focus on the diurnal variations of MCSs over different underlying surfaces, and the result shows that there are two types of MCSs over China and its vicinity during summer. One type of MCSs has only one active period all day long (single-peak MCSs), and the other has multiple active periods (multi-peak MCSs). Single-peak MCSs occur more often over plateaus or mountains, and multi-peak MCSs are more common over plains or basins. Depending on lifetimes and active periods, single-peak MCSs can be classified as Tibetan Plateau MCSs, general mountain MCSs, Ryukyu MCSs, and so on. The diurnal variation of multi-peak MCSs is very similar to that of MCCs (mesoscale convective complexes), and it reveals that multi-peak MCSs has longer life cycle and larger horizontal scale, becomes weaker after sunset, and develops again after midnight. Tibetan Plateau MCSs and general mountain MCSs both usually develop in the afternoon, but Tibetan Plateau MCSs have longer life cycle and more active MαCSs. Ryukyu MCSs generally develop after midnight, last longer time, and also have more active MαCS. The abundant moisture and favorable large-scale environment over Indian monsoon surge areas lead to active MCSs and MαCSs almost at any hour all day during summer. Due to local mountain-valley breeze circulation over the Sichuan Basin, MCSs are developed remarkably more often during the nighttime, and again there are also more active MαCSs. Because of local prominent sea-land breeze circulation over Guangxi and Guangdong, the MCSs over this region propagate from sea to land in the afternoon and from land to sea after midnight. The statistic characteristics of TBB less than -52℃ clearly display the different climatological characteristics of MCSs owing to the thermal difference among water, land and rough terrain. | 4 | Optical tuning of exciton and trion emissions in monolayer phosphorene显示文摘Monolayer phosphorene provides a unique two-dimensional(2D)platform to investigate the fundamental dynamics of excitons and trions(charged excitons)in reduced dimensions.However,owing to its high instability,unambiguous identification of monolayer phosphorene has been elusive.Consequently,many important fundamental properties,such as exciton dynamics,remain underexplored.We report a rapid,noninvasive,and highly accurate approach based on optical interferometry to determine the layer number of phosphorene,and confirm the results with reliable photoluminescence measurements.Furthermore,we successfully probed the dynamics of excitons and trions in monolayer phosphorene by controlling the photo-carrier injection in a relatively low excitation power range.Based on our measured optical gap and the previously measured electronic energy gap,we determined the exciton binding energy to be~0.3 eV for the monolayer phosphorene on SiO_(2)/Si substrate,which agrees well with theoretical predictions.A huge trion binding energy of~100 meV was first observed in monolayer phosphorene,which is around five times higher than that in transition metal dichalcogenide(TMD)monolayer semiconductor,such as MoS_(2).The carrier lifetime of exciton emission in monolayer phosphorene was measured to be,220 ps,which is comparable to those in other 2D TMD semiconductors.Our results open new avenues for exploring fundamental phenomena and novel optoelectronic applications using monolayer phosphorene. | Jiong Yang Renjing Xu Jiajie Pei Ye Win Myint Fan Wang Zhu Wang Shuang Zhang Zongfu Yu Yuerui Lu | 2015 | Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1: | 8 |

| 6 | Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome with gastrointestinal bleeding,splenic hemangiomas and left inferior vena cava显示文摘Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome is a congenital vascular anomaly characterized by a triad of varicose veins,cutaneous capillary malformation,and hypertrophy of bone and(or)soft tissue.Gastrointestinal vascular malformations in Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome may present with gastrointestinal bleeding.The majority of patients with spleenic hemangiomatosis and/or left inferior vena cava are asymptomatic.We herein report a case admitted to the gastroenterology clinic with life-threatening hematochezia and symptomatic iron deficiency anemia.Due to the asymptomatic mild intermittent hematochezia,splenic hemangiomas and left inferior vena cava,the patient did not seek any help for gastrointestinal bleeding until his admittance to our department for evaluation of massive gastrointestinal bleeding.He was referred to angiography because of his serious pathogenetic condition and inefficiency of medical therapy.The method showed that hemostasis was successfully achieved in the hemorrhage site by embolism of corresponding vessels.Further endoscopy revealed vascular malformations starting from the stomach to the descending colon.On the other hand,computed tomography revealed splenic hemangiomas and left inferior vena cava.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome case presenting with gastrointestinal bleeding,splenic hemangiomas and left inferior vena cava.The literature on the evaluation and management of this case is reviewed. | Wang, Zhen-Kai Wang, Fang-Yu Zhu, Ren-Min Liu, Jiong | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,12: | 7 |

| 9 | Optimal b value of diffusion-weighted imaging on a 3.0T magnetic resonance scanner in Crohn's disease显示文摘AIM:To determine the optimal b value of diffusionweighted imaging for detecting active inflammation in Crohn's disease.METHODS:Thirty-one patients clinically diagnosed with active Crohn’s disease were referred for magnetic resonance examination.All patients were scanned on a3.0T magnetic resonance scanner using the same protocol involving four different b values(800,1500,2000and 2500 s/mm2).The diagnostic effect of diffusionweighted imaging was evaluated and compared with endoscopic findings.The diffusion-weighted image quality of four b value groups was evaluated and apparent diffusion coefficient was measured for both nor-mal and inflammatory intestinal segments.RESULTS:The contrast-to-noise ratio and signal-tonoise ratio were not satisfied when b value 2000 or2500 s/mm2 was adopted(36.52±14.95 vs 34.78±24.83,P>0.05;53.58±23.45 vs 47.58±29.67,P>0.05).The qualitative image quality was not enough to meet diagnostic requirement.No matter which b value was chosen,the apparent diffusion coefficient of inflammatory intestinal segments was significantly lower than that of normal intestinal segments(1.38±0.28 vs 2.00±0.38,P<0.01;1.09±0.20 vs 1.50±0.28,P<0.01;0.95±0.19 vs 1.34±0.28,P<0.01;0.88±0.14 vs 1.20±0.21,P<0.01).The lesion detection rate(90.32%),diagnostic sensitivity(81.18%)and specificity(95.10%)would be appropriate when b value 1500 s/mm2 was adopted.CONCLUSION:High b value is suitable for intestinal DW examination on a high field MR scanner. | Qi Feng Yun-Qi Yan Jiong Zhu Jin-Lu Tong Jian-Rong Xu | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,35: | 4 |

| 12 | The NPR1-WRKY46-WRKY6 signaling cascade mediates probenazole/salicylic acid-elicited leaf senescence in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Endogenous salicylic acid(SA) regulates leaf senescence, but the underlying mechanism remains largely unexplored. The exogenous application of SA to living plants is not efficient for inducing leaf senescence. By taking advantage of probenazole(PBZ)-inducedbiosynthesisof endogenous SA, we previously established a chemical inducible leaf senescence system that depends on SA biosynthesis and its core signaling receptor NPR1 in Arabidopsis thaliana. Here,using this system, we identified WRKY46 and WRKY6 as key components of the transcriptional machinery downstream of NPR1 signaling. Upon PBZ treatment, the wrky46 mutant exhibited significantly delayed leaf senescence. We demonstrate that NPR1 is essential for PBZ/SA-induced WRKY46 activation, whereas WRKY46 in turn enhances NPR1 expression. WRKY46 interacts with NPR1 in the nucleus, binding to the W-box of the WRKY6 promoter to induce its expression in response to SA signaling. Dysfunction of WRKY6 abolished PBZ-induced leaf senescence, while overexpression of WRKY6 was sufficient to accelerate leaf senescence even under normal growth conditions, suggesting that WRKY6 may serve as an integration node of multiple leaf senescence signaling pathways. | 13 | Confusing untypical intestinal Behcet's disease:Skip ulcers with severe lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage显示文摘Behcet's disease(BD) is a rare and life-long disorder characterized by inflammation of blood vessels throughout the body. BD was originally described in 1937 as a syndrome involving oral and genital ulceration in addition to ocular inflammation. Intestinal BD refers to colonic ulcerative lesions documented by objective measures in patients with BD. Many studies have shown that over 40% of BD patients have gastrointestinal complaints. Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, anorexia and abdominal distension. Although gastrointestinal symptoms are common, the demonstration of gastrointestinal ulcers is rare. This so-called intestinal BD accounts for approximately 1% of cases. There is no specific test for BD, and the diagnosis is based on clinical criteria. The manifestations of intestinal BD are similar to those of other colitis conditions such as Crohn's disease or intestinal tuberculosis, thus, it is challenging for gastroenterologists to accurately diagnose intestinal BD in patients with ileocolonic ulcers. However, giant ulcers distributed in the esophagus and ileocecal junction with gastrointestinal hemorrhage are rare in intestinal BD. Here, we present a case of untypical intestinal BD. The patient had recurrent aphthous ulceration of the oral mucosa, and esophageal and ileo-colonic ulceration, but no typical extra-intestinal symptoms. During examination, the patient had massive acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding. The patient underwent ileostomy after an emergency right hemicolectomy and partial ileectomy, and was subsequently diagnosed with incomplete-type intestinal BD by pathology. | 16 | A multicenter retrospective cohort study of ketogenic diet therapy in 481 children with infantile spasms显示文摘Background:Ketogenic diet(KD)therapy is one of the main treatments for drug-resistant epilepsy.However,the KD therapy has been applied in only a small number of infantile spasm cases.In this large multicenter study,we investigated the efficacy of KD therapy in the treatment of infantile spasms.Methods:In this retrospective,multicenter cohort study,clinical data from main epilepsy centers were analyzed.Patients were classified into different groups according to age,type of drug and whether glucocorticoid was used before initiation of KD.Results:From October 2014 to March 2020,481 patients(308 males and 173 females)with infantile spasms were treated with the KD therapy.The age of the patients ranged from 2 months to 20 years,with a mean age of 1 year and 10 months.The number of anti-seizure medications(ASMs)used before KD initiation ranged 0-6,with a median of 3.In different time from initiation(1,3,6,and 12 months),the rates of seizure freedom after KD were 6.9,11.6;16.0 and 16.8%,respectively(x^(2)=27.1772,P<0.0001).There was a significant difference in the rate of seizure freedom between 3 months and 1 month(x^(2)=6.5498,P=0.0105)groups,and 6 months and 3 months(x^(2)=3.8478,P=0.0498)groups,but not between 12 months and 6 months(x^(2)=0.1212,P=0.7278)groups.The rates of effectiveness were 44.7;62.8,49.1 and 32.0%(x^(2)=93.2674,P<0.0001),respectively.The retention rates were 94.0,82.5,55.7 and 33.1%(x^(2)=483.7551,P<0.0001),correspondingly.The rate of effectiveness and the retention rate of KD were significantly different among the 1,3,6 and 12 months.KD treatment was the first choice in 25 patients(5.2%),55 patients(11.4%)started KD after the failure of the first ASM,158 patients(32.8%)started KD after the failure of the second ASM,157 patients(32.6%)started KD after the failure of the third drug,and 86 patients(17.9%)started KD after the failure of the fourth and more.The KD effect was not related to the number of ASMs used before KD startup(P>0.05).Two hundred and eighteen patients(45.3%)failed to respond to corticotropin or glucocorticoid before initiation.There was no significant difference in the effectiveness rate at different time points between the group of KD therapy after glucocorticoid failure and the group after non-hormone failure (x^(2)=0.8613,P=0.8348).The rate of adverse events of KD in 1,3,6,and 12 months after KD initiation were 22.3,21.7,16.8 and 6.9%,respectively.The adverse events mainly occurred during the first 3 months of KD,and the main adverse events were gastrointestinal disturbance and constipation.Conclusions:The efficacy of the KD treatment for infantile spasms was not affected by age,medication,and glucocorticoid use before initiation.KD is one of the effective treatments for infantile spasms. | Yuanzhen Ye Dan Sun Hua Li Jianmin Zhong Rong Luo Baomin Li Dengna Zhu Dan Li Shaoping Huang Yuwu Jiang Nong Xiao Yucai Chen Yuqin Zhang Mei Yu Xiaoyun Shen Li Gao Guo Zheng Congmin Zhao Baoqiang Yuan Jianxiang Liao Jiong Qin CAAE KD group | 2022 | Acta Epileptologica2022,5,1: | 2 |

| 18 | Prior exposure to ciprofloxacin disrupts intestinal homeostasis and predisposes ayu(Plecoglossus altivelis)to subsequent Pseudomonas plecoglossicida-induced infection显示文摘With the rapid development of intensive farming,the aquaculture industry uses a great many antibiotics for the prevention and treatment of bacterial diseases.Despite their therapeutic functions,the overuse and accumulation of antibiotics also pose a threat to aquaculture organisms.In the present study,ayu(Plecoglossus altivelis)was used as a fish model to study the impacts of ciprofloxacin(CIP)overuse on intestinal homeostasis and immune response during subsequent Pseudomonas plecoglossicida infection.Based on 16S rRNA gene amplification and Illumina sequencing,we found that CIP pre-exposure caused significant variation in intestinal microbiota,including increased species richness,altered microbiota composition and interaction networks,and increased metabolic dysfunction.Furthermore,immunohistochemical analysis indicated that CIP pre-exposure resulted in severe mucosal layer damage,goblet cell reduction,and epithelial cell necrosis of the intestinal barrier in infected ayu.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)showed that disruption of intestinal homeostasis impaired systemic antiinfection immune responses in the intestine,gill,spleen,and head kidney,while inhibiting IL-1β,TNF-α,and IL-10 expression and promoting TGF-βexpression.Our findings indicated that CIP administration can directly affect intestinal microbiota composition and intestinal integrity in ayu fish.This perturbation of intestinal homeostasis is likely responsible for the lower survival rate of hosts following subsequent infection as the capacity to mount an effective immune response is compromised.This study also provides preliminary clues for understanding the effects of antibiotic overuse on higher vertebrates through trophic transfer. | Xiang-Yu Wu Jin-Bo Xiong Chen-Jie Fei Ting Dai Ting-Fang Zhu Zi-Yue Zhao Jing Pan Li Nie Jiong Chen | 2022 | Zoological Research2022,43,4: | 2 |
| 19 | Characteristics of β-oxidative and reductive metabolism on the acyl side chain of cinnamic acid and its analogues in rats显示文摘Cinnamic acid and its analogues (pyragrel and ozagrel) undergo chain-shortened (β-oxidative) and reductive metabolism on acyl side chain. In this study, we characterized the β-oxidative and reductive metabolism on acyl side chain of cinnamic acid and its analogues using primary rat hepatocytes, hepatic mitochondrial, and microsomal systems. A compartmental model including parent compounds and metabolites was developed to characterize in vivo β-oxidative and reductive metabolism following an intravenous dose of parent compounds to rats. The ?tted total in vivo clearance values were further compared with the in vitro values predicted by the well-stirred model. We showed that hepatic microsomal CYP450s did not catalyze β-oxidative or reductive metabolism of the three compounds. Similar to β-oxidation of fatty acids,β-oxidative metabolism on their acyl side chain occurred mainly in mitochondria, which was highly dependent on ATP, CoA and NAD+. Fatty acids and NADH inhibited the β-oxidative metabolism. Reductive metabolism occurred in both mitochondria and microsomes. Reduction in mitochondria was ATP-, CoA-, and NAD(P)H-dependent and reversible, which was suppressed by enoyl reductase inhibitor triclosan. Reduction in microsomes was ATP-, CoA-, and NADPH-dependent but little affected by triclosan. Both plasma concentrations of β-oxidative metabolites and reductive metabolites were successfully ?tted using the compartmental model. The estimated total in vivo clearance values were consistent with those predicted from hepatocytes and organelles, implicating signi?cance of in vitro kinetics. | 20 | Prevention and treatment of hepatitis B recurrence after liver transplantation显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study the efficacy of liver transplantation on end-stage hepatitis B related liverdiseases, and the prevention and treatment strategies of hepatitis B recurrence after the transplantation.METHODS: The efficacy of combined treatment of lamivudine and hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG)therapy on 24 patients who had received liver transplantation was retrospectively studied.RESULTS: All the 24 patients with end-stage hepatitis B-related liver diseases treated with lamivudinealone or combined therapy of lamivudine and HBIG showed normal liver function and 21 of them losthepatitis B virus (HBV) markers. However, the remaining 3 patients became HBsAg positive again soonafter liver transplantation.CONCLUSIONS: Liver transplantation is effective for patients with end-stage hepatitis B-related liverdiseases.
