1Performance of overlapped shield tunneling through an integrated physical model tests,numerical simulations and real-time field monitoring显示文摘In this work,deformations and internal forces of an existing tunnel subjected to a closely overlapped shield tunneling are monitored and analyzed using a series of physical model experiments and numerical simulations.Effects of different excavation sequences and speeds are explicitly considered in the analysis.The results of the physical model experiments show that the bottom-up tunneling procedure is better than the top-down tunneling procedure.The incurred deformations and internal forces of the existing tunnel increase with the excavation speed and the range of influence areas also increase accordingly.For construction process control,real-time monitoring of the power tunnel is used.The monitoring processes feature full automation,adjustable frequency,real-time monitor and dynamic feedback,which are used to guide the construction to achieve micro-disturbance control.In accordance with the situation of crossing construction,a numerical study on the performance of power tunnel is carried out.Construction control measures are given for the undercrossing construction,which helps to accomplish the desired result and meet protection requirements of the existing tunnel structure.Finally,monitoring data and numerical results are compared,and the displacement and joint fracture change models in the power tunnel subject to the overlapped shield tunnel construction are analyzed.Junlong Yang Chen Liu Qiushi Chen Xiongyao Xie 2017Underground Space2017,2,1:3
2Induced regulatory T cells suppress Tel cells through TGF-β signaling to ameliorate STZ-induced type 1 diabetes mellitus显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1D)is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the immune system destroys insulin-producing pancreatic β cells.In addition to well-established pathogenic effector T cells,regulatory T cells(Tregs)have also been shown to be defective in T1D.Thus,an increasing number of therapeutic approaches are being developed to target Tregs.However,the role and mechanisms of TGF-β-induced Tregs(iTregs)in T1D remain poorly understood.Here,using a streptozotocin(STZ)-induced preclinical T1D mouse model,we found that iTregs could ameliorate the development of T1D and preserve β cell function.The preventive effect was associated with the inhibition of type 1 cytotoxic T(Tel)cell function and rebalancing the Treg/Tc1 cell ratio in recipients.Furthermore,we showed that the underlying mechanisms were due to the TGF-β-mediated combinatorial actions of mTOR and TCF1.In addition to the preventive role,the therapeutic effects of iTregs on the established STZ-T1D and nonobese diabetic(NOD)mouse models were tested,which revealed improved β cell function.Our findings therefore provide key new insights into the basic mechanisms involved in the therapeutic role of iTregs in T1D.Li Zhou Xuemin He Peihong Cai Ting Li Rongdong Peng Junlong Dang Yue Li Haicheng Li Feng Huang Guojun Shi Chichu Xie Yan Lu Yanming Chen 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,3:3

6Visualization and Experiment of Tip Vortex Phenomenon in Cooling Fan using Digital Particle Image Velocimetry显示文摘The Digital Particle Image Velocimetry (DPIV) is an efficient method for measuring the internal flow field of a low-speed cooling fan. This paper studied the velocity field by means of PIV technology for a leading edge swept axial-flow fan without casing, and the tip vortex phenomenon was observed. Time-averaged velocity measurements were taken near the pressure surface, the suction surface and the tip of blade, etc. Moreover, the flow characteristics were visualized using numerical techniques. Experimental results showed that this tip vortex existed at the leading edge of the blade. The generating, developing and dissipating evolvement process of the tip vortex from the blade leading edge to downstream were discussed in detail. In addition, by comparing DPIV results and numerical results, a good agreement between them indicated a possibility to predict flow field using CFD tools. 12Used for the Study of Nitrogen Fertilizer Slow-Release Carrier Life Sludge显示文摘After the sewage treatment, putting the wet sludge in which the heavy metal content is extremely low, corrupt and broken straw, bentonite, urea in proportioning according to the certain ratio, mixing well-distributed, taking the shape of Nitrogen slow-release fertilizers, doing the dynamic bioleaching test by the method of Artificial rainfall simulation, researching the slow-release characteristic, water retention. When the mass ratio of the wet sludge whose water content is 82.5%: bentonite: corrupt and broken straw: urea is 62.5: 12.5: 12.5: 12.5, drip washing the 10g Nitrogen slow-release fertilizers by the 80ml distilled water after 48h, the residue rate of urea is 29.63%; Under the room temperature of 25 ℃, 77%RH, moisture evaporate 46.32% after 60 h. The results demonstrate that the slow-release fertilizer has a good release-effect of nitrogen and water conservation effect. 13Numerical modeling and performance evaluation of passive convergence-permeable reactive barrier(PC-PRB)显示文摘The passive convergence-permeable reactive barrier(PC-PRB)was proposed to address the limitations of traditional PRB configurations.To evaluate the hydraulic and pollutant removal performance of the PC-PRB system,we developed a simulation code named PRB-Trans.This code uses the two-dimensional(2D)finite element method to simulate groundwater flow and solute transport.Case studies demonstrate that PC-PRB technology is more efficient and cost-effective than continuous permeable reactive barrier(C-PRB)in treating the same contaminated plume.Implementation of PC-PRB technology results in a 33.3%and 72.7%reduction in PRB length(L_(PRB))and height(H_(PRB)),respectively,while increasing 2D horizontal and 2D vertical pollutant treatment efficiencies of PRB by 87.8%and 266.8%,respectively.In addition,the PC-PRB technology has the ability to homogenize the pollutant concentration and pollutant flux through the PRB system,which can mitigate the problems arising from uneven distribution of pollutants in the C-PRB to some extent.The L_(PRB)required for PC-PRB decreases as the water pipe length(L_(p))increases,while the H_(PRB)required initially decreases and then increases with increasing L_(p).The effect of passive well height(Hw)on H_(PRB)is not as significant as that of L_(p)on H_(PRB).Overall,PC-PRB presents a promising and advantageous PRB configuration in the effective treatment of various types of contaminated plumes.Kaixuan Zheng Dong Xie Yiqi Tan Zhenjiang Zhuo Tan Chen Hongtao Wang Ying Yuan Junlong Huang Tianwei Sun Fangming Xu Yuecen Dong Ximing Liang 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,11:0
14Numerical study on combustion efficiency of aluminum particles in solid rocket motor显示文摘The combustion of aluminum particles in solid rocket motor plays an important role in energy release of propellants. However, due to the limited residence time, aluminum particles may not be burned completely, thus hindering the improvement of specific impulse. This study aims to explore the characteristics of aluminum combustion efficiency and its influencing factors by experiments and numerical simulations, providing a guideline for engine performance improvement. As an input of simulation, the initial agglomerate size was measured by a high pressure system. Meanwhile, the size distribution of the particles in plume was measured by ground firing test to validate the numerical model. Then, a two-phase flow model coupling combustion of micro aluminum particle was developed, by which the detailed effects of particle size, detaching position and nozzle convergent section structure on aluminum combustion efficiency were explored. The results suggest that the average combustion temperature in the chamber drops with increasing initial particle size,while the maximum temperature increases slightly. In the tested motors, the aluminum particle burns completely as its diameter is smaller than 50 μm, and beyond 50 μm the combustion efficiency decreases obviously with the increase of initial size. As the diameter approaches to 75 μm, the combustion efficiency becomes more sensitive to particle size. The combustion efficiency of aluminum particle escaping from end-burning surfaces is significantly higher than that from internal burning surface, where the particle combustion efficiency decreases during approaching the convergent section. Furthermore, the combustion efficiency decreases slightly with increasing nozzle convergent section angle. 15Direct Synthesis of Al_2O_3-modified Li(Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3))O_2 Cathode Materials for Lithium Ion Batteries显示文摘To improve the cyclic stability at high temperature and thermal stability, the spherical Al_2O_3-modified Li(Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3))O_2 was synthesized by a modified co-precipitation method, and the physical and electrochemical properties were studied. The TEM images showed that Li(Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3))O_2 was modified successfully with nano-Al_2O_3. The discharge capacity retention of Al_2O_3-modified Li(Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3))O_2 maintained about 99% after 200 cycles at high temperature(55 ℃), while that of the bare one was only 86%. 17UAV-Assisted Dynamic Avatar Task Migration for Vehicular Metaverse Services: A Multi-Agent Deep Reinforcement Learning Approach显示文摘Avatars, as promising digital representations and service assistants of users in Metaverses, can enable drivers and passengers to immerse themselves in 3D virtual services and spaces of UAV-assisted vehicular Metaverses. However, avatar tasks include a multitude of human-to-avatar and avatar-to-avatar interactive applications, e.g., augmented reality navigation,which consumes intensive computing resources. It is inefficient and impractical for vehicles to process avatar tasks locally. Fortunately, migrating avatar tasks to the nearest roadside units(RSU)or unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV) for execution is a promising solution to decrease computation overhead and reduce task processing latency, while the high mobility of vehicles brings challenges for vehicles to independently perform avatar migration decisions depending on current and future vehicle status. To address these challenges, in this paper, we propose a novel avatar task migration system based on multi-agent deep reinforcement learning(MADRL) to execute immersive vehicular avatar tasks dynamically. Specifically, we first formulate the problem of avatar task migration from vehicles to RSUs/UAVs as a partially observable Markov decision process that can be solved by MADRL algorithms. We then design the multi-agent proximal policy optimization(MAPPO) approach as the MADRL algorithm for the avatar task migration problem. To overcome slow convergence resulting from the curse of dimensionality and non-stationary issues caused by shared parameters in MAPPO, we further propose a transformer-based MAPPO approach via sequential decision-making models for the efficient representation of relationships among agents. Finally, to motivate terrestrial or non-terrestrial edge servers(e.g., RSUs or UAVs) to share computation resources and ensure traceability of the sharing records, we apply smart contracts and blockchain technologies to achieve secure sharing management.
