2Visible Raman and Brillouin lasers from a microresonator/ZBLAN-fiber hybrid system显示文摘Raman and Brillouin lasers based on a high-quality(high-Q) whispering gallery mode microresonator(WGMR)are usually achieved by employing a tunable single-frequency laser as a pump source. Here, we experimentally demonstrate visible Raman and Brillouin lasers using a compact microresonator/ZrF4-BaF2-LaF3-AlF3-NaF(ZBLAN)-fiber hybrid system by incorporating a WGMR with a fiber-compatible distributed Bragg reflector/fiber Bragg grating to form a Fabry–Perot(F-P) fiber cavity and using a piece of Pr:ZBLAN fiber as gain medium.The high-Q silica-microsphere not only offers a Rayleigh-scattering-induced backreflection to form the ~635 nm red laser oscillation in the F-P fiber cavity, but also provides a nonlinear gain in the WGMR itself to generate either stimulated Raman scattering or stimulated Brillouin scattering. Up to six-order cascaded Raman lasers at0.65 μm, 0.67 μm, 0.69 μm, 0.71 μm, 0.73 μm, and 0.76 μm are achieved, respectively. Moreover, a Brillouin laser at 635.54 nm is clearly observed. This is, to the best of our knowledge, the first demonstration of visible microresonator-based lasers created by combining a Pr:ZBLAN fiber. 6Chiral mesoporous silica nano-screws as an efficient biomimetic oral drug delivery platform through multiple topological mechanisms显示文摘In the microscale, bacteria with helical body shapes have been reported to yield advantages in many bio-processes. In the human society, there are also wisdoms in knowing how to recognize and make use of helical shapes with multi-functionality. Herein, we designed atypical chiral mesoporous silica nano-screws(CMSWs) with ideal topological structures(e.g., small section area, relative rough surface,screw-like body with three-dimension chirality) and demonstrated that CMSWs displayed enhanced bioadhesion, mucus-penetration and cellular uptake(contributed by the macropinocytosis and caveolaemediated endocytosis pathways) abilities compared to the chiral mesoporous silica nanospheres(CMSSs)and chiral mesoporous silica nanorods(CMSRs), achieving extended retention duration in the gastrointestinal(GI) tract and superior adsorption in the blood circulation(up to 2.61-and 5.65-times in AUC).After doxorubicin(DOX) loading into CMSs, DOX@CMSWs exhibited controlled drug release manners with pH responsiveness in vitro. Orally administered DOX@CMSWs could efficiently overcome the intestinal epithelium barrier(IEB), and resulted in satisfactory oral bioavailability of DOX(up to 348%).CMSWs were also proved to exhibit good biocompatibility and unique biodegradability. 8Exosomal miR-218 regulates the development of endometritis in dairy cows by targeting TGIF2/TGF-βpathway显示文摘Endometritis affects the reproductive capacity of dairy cows and leads to serious economic losses in dairy farming.Clarification of the pathogenesis of endometritis is necessary to improve the reproductive efficiency of dairy cows.Exosomes and their miRNAs have been proven to play an important role in inflammatory regulation.Exosomal miR-218 is a differentially expressed miRNA found in endometrial epithelial cells(EECs)under endometrial inflammation.Therefore,we investigated the expression of miR-218 in the uterine tissue of dairy cows,lipopolysaccharide(LPS)treated EECs,exosomal vesicles,and regulation of exosomal miR-218 by targeting TGIF-2 inducible factor homology frame 2(TGIF2)/transforming growth factor-beta(TGF-β).The expression of miR-218 was suppressed in inflammatory uterine tissues and LPS treated EECs.The expression of TGIF2 and TGF-βin inflammatory uterine tissues and LPS treated EECs was significantly higher than those in healthy uterine tissues and EECs(p<0.01).Interestingly,miR-218 derived from donor cells was found to regulate the expression of the target gene TGIF2 in recipient cells through the fusion of exosomes.Concurrently,the expression of its target gene TGIF2 was also suppressed by miR-218 in donor cells resulting in fewer TGIF2 being transported into recipient cells with exosomal fusion.This may be a novel mechanism of miRNAs-mediated regulation and provides a new reference for analyzing the pathogenesis of endometritis in dairy cows.CHANG CHEN LIMIN QIAO KAIJUN GUO YINGQIU WANG MENGYI YUAN BOFAN FU XIAOBO GAO HEMIN NI LONGFEI XIAO XIANGGUO WANG 2022BIOCELL2022,46,11:0
9Experimental research of a thermoacoustic prime mover and a refrigerator显示文摘Thermoacoustic engine has been concerned recently because of its advantages of no moving parts and no pollution. A prime mover is built and its characteristics of onset temperature difference, frequency and output acoustic power are measured and analyzed. A thermoacoustic refrigerator driven by this prime mover had been tested.
