| 1 | Synthesis of a reduction-sensitive Bletilla striata polysaccharide amphiphilic copolymer显示文摘Recently, much special attention has been focused on the development of amphiphilic copolymers.Herein, a reduction-sensitive stearic acid grafted-Bletilla striata polysaccharide copolymer(BSP-ss-SA)was synthesized and characterized. BSP-ss-SA copolymer could spontaneously form micelles with an average particle size of(106 ? 4.36) nm. Particle sizes were dramatically larger under 10 mmol/L dithiothreitol(DTT) than that in absence of 10 mmol/L DTT. Docetaxel loading content and encapsulation efficiency of micelles were 5.94 wt% and 72.75 wt%, respectively. The docetaxel release rate in vitro in micelles could be remarkably accelerated in pH 7.4 phosphate buffer solution(PBS) containing 10 mmol/L DTT compared with that of micelles(0 mmol/L DTT). Furthermore, MTT results demonstrated the anticancer activities in vitro of docetaxel-loaded BSP-ss-SA micelles on HepG2 were superior to that of docetaxel injection. | 2 | In-situ optimizing the valence configuration of vanadium sites in NiV-LDH nanosheet arrays for enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Developing the highly active, cost-effective, environmental-friendly, and ultra-stable nonprecious electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) is distinctly indispensable for the large-scale practical applications of hydrolytic hydrogen production. Herein, we report the synthesis of well-integrated electrode, NiV layered double hydroxide nanosheet array grown in-situ on porous nickel foam(abbreviated as in-NiV-LDH/NF) via the facile one-step hydrothermal route. Interestingly, the valence configuration of vanadium(V) sites in such NiV-LDH are well dominated by the innovative use of NF as the reducing regulator, achieving the reassembled in-NiV-LDH/NF with a high proportion of trivalent V ions(V3+), and then an enhanced intrinsic electrocatalytic HER activity. The HER testing results show that the in-NiVLDH/NF drives the current densities of 10 and 100 mA cm-2 at extremely low overpotentials of 114 and 245 mV without iR-compensation respectively, even outperforms commercial 20 wt% Pt/C at the large current density of over 80 mA cm-2 in alkaline media, as well as gives robust catalytic durability of at least 100 h in both alkaline and neutral media. | 3 | BODIPY-derived ratiometric fluorescent sensors: pH-regulated aggregation-induced emission and imaging application in cellular acidification triggered by crystalline silica exposure显示文摘Modification of classic fluorophore to possess the emission transitions between aggregation-induced emission(AIE)and intrinsic emission offers reliable approach to the design of ratiometric fluorescent sensors.In this study,a proton acceptor benzimidazole was integrated with BODIPY to form three compounds,BBI-1/2/3,which demonstrated the AIE(~595 nm,I_(agg))in neutral aqueous medium and intrinsic BODIPYemission(~510 nm,I_(int))in acidic medium.All the three showed the ratiometric pH sensing behavior in a dual excitation/dual emission mode,yet BBI-3 displayed still the dual emission ratiometric pH sensing ability.The pH-dependent emission ratio I_(int)/I_(agg)of the three were fully reversible,and no interference was observed from normal abundant chemical species in live cells.Their different p K_a(BBI-1,p K_a4.4;BBI-2,p K_a2.7;BBI-3,p K_a3.6)suggested that the substituents on benzimidazole moiety were essential to govern their functioning pH range.The ratiometric imaging of BBI-1 in A549 cells provided an effective intracellular pH(pH_i)calibration formula corresponding to emission ratio of I_(int)/I_(agg).Ratiometric pH_iimaging in A549 cells upon small particle exposure confirmed the particle-induced cellular acidification with this formula.Both particle size and the chemical nature of the particle contribute to the observed acidification effect.The synchronization of lysosome disruption to cellular acidification in A549 cells upon crystalline silica exposure was directly observed for the first time with BBI-1,showing the potential application of BBI-1 in the study of silicosis and other related diseases.This study demonstrated that endowing fluorophore with AIE/intrinsic emission transition could be a promising strategy for ratiometric sensor design. | Yang Bai Danyang Liu Zhong Han Yuncong Chen Zhongyan Chen Yang Jiao Weijiang He Zijian Guo | 2018 | Science China Chemistry2018,61,11: | 4 |
| 4 | Pulsed Nd:YAG laser cladding of high silicon content coating on low silicon steel显示文摘A pulsed Nd:YAG (yttrium aluminum garnet) laser-based technique was employed to clad low silicon steel with preplaced Si and Fe mixed powders for high Si content. The surface morphology, microstructural evolution, phase composition, and Si distribution, within the obtained cladding coatings, were characterized by optical microscopy (OM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), with associated energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The microhardness was also measured along the depth direction of the specimens. A crack-and pore-free cladding coating through excellent metallurgical bonding with the substrate was successfully prepared on low silicon steel by means of optimized sin-gle-track and multi-track laser cladding. The phases of the coating are α-Fe, γ-Fe, and FeSi. The high microhardness of the la-ser-cladding zone is considered as an increase in Si content and as the refined microstructure produced by the laser treatment. | 6 | Investigation of Knowledge Transfer Approaches to Improve the Acoustic Modeling of Vietnamese ASR System显示文摘It is well known that automatic speech recognition(ASR) is a resource consuming task. It takes sufficient amount of data to train a state-of-the-art deep neural network acoustic model. As for some low-resource languages where scripted speech is difficult to obtain, data sparsity is the main problem that limits the performance of speech recognition system. In this paper, several knowledge transfer methods are investigated to overcome the data sparsity problem with the help of high-resource languages.The first one is a pre-training and fine-tuning(PT/FT) method, in which the parameters of hidden layers are initialized with a welltrained neural network. Secondly, the progressive neural networks(Prognets) are investigated. With the help of lateral connections in the network architecture, Prognets are immune to forgetting effect and superior in knowledge transferring. Finally,bottleneck features(BNF) are extracted using cross-lingual deep neural networks and serves as an enhanced feature to improve the performance of ASR system. Experiments are conducted in a low-resource Vietnamese dataset. The results show that all three methods yield significant gains over the baseline system, and the Prognets acoustic model performs the best. | 7 | LncDACH1 promotes mitochondrial oxidative stress of cardiomyocytes by interacting with sirtuin3 and aggravates diabetic cardiomyopathy显示文摘Diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM)is a common complication in diabetic patients.The molecular mechanisms of DCM remain to be fully elucidated.The intronic long noncoding RNA of DACH1(lnc DACH1)has been demonstrated to be closely associated with heart failure and cardiac regeneration.In this study,we investigated the role of lnc DACH1 in DCM and the underlying molecular mechanisms.The expression of lnc DACH1 was increased in DCM hearts and in high glucose-treated cardiomyocytes.Knockout of lnc DACH1 reduced mitochondrial oxidative stress,cell apoptosis,cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy,and improved cardiac function in DCM mice.Overexpression of lnc DACH1 exacerbated mitochondria-derived reactive oxygen species(ROS)level and apoptosis,decreased activity of manganese superoxide dismutase(Mn-SOD);while silencing of lnc DACH1 attenuated ROS production,mitochondrial dysfunction,cell apoptosis,and increased the activity of Mn-SOD in cardiomyocytes treated with high glucose.Lnc DACH1 directly bound to sirtuin3(SIRT3)and facilitated its degradation by ubiquitination,therefore promoting mitochondrial oxidative injury and cell apoptosis in mouse hearts.In addition,SIRT3 silencing abrogated the protective effects of lnc DACH1 deficiency in cardiomyocytes.In summary,lnc DACH1 aggravates DCM by promoting mitochondrial oxidative stress and cell apoptosis via increasing ubiquitination-mediated SIRT3 degradation in mouse hearts.Inhibition of lnc DACH1 represents a novel therapeutic strategy for the intervention of diabetic cardiomyopathy. | Qi Zhang Danyang Li Xue Dong Xiaowen Zhang Junwu Liu Lili Peng Bo Meng Qi Hua Xinyu Pei Lu Zhao Xiaoxi Hu Yang Zhang Zhenwei Pan Yanjie Lu Baofeng Yang | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,6: | 4 |
| 8 | Accurate machine learning models based on small dataset of energetic materials through spatial matrix featurization methods显示文摘A large database is desired for machine learning(ML) technology to make accurate predictions of materials physicochemical properties based on their molecular structure.When a large database is not available,the development of proper featurization method based on physicochemical nature of target proprieties can improve the predictive power of ML models with a smaller database.In this work,we show that two new featurization methods,volume occupation spatial matrix and heat contribution spatial matrix,can improve the accuracy in predicting energetic materials' crystal density(ρ_(crystal)) and solid phase enthalpy of formation(H_(f,solid)) using a database containing 451 energetic molecules.Their mean absolute errors are reduced from 0.048 g/cm~3 and 24.67 kcal/mol to 0.035 g/cm~3 and 9.66 kcal/mol,respectively.By leave-one-out-cross-validation,the newly developed ML models can be used to determine the performance of most kinds of energetic materials except cubanes.Our ML models are applied to predict ρ_(crystal) and H_(f,solid) of CHON-based molecules of the 150 million sized PubChem database,and screened out 56 candidates with competitive detonation performance and reasonable chemical structures.With further improvement in future,spatial matrices have the potential of becoming multifunctional ML simulation tools that could provide even better predictions in wider fields of materials science. | Chao Chen Danyang Liu Siyan Deng Lixiang Zhong Serene Hay Yee Chan Shuzhou Li Huey Hoon Hng | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,12: | 4 |

| 11 | Using loose nanofiltration membrane for lake water treatment:A pilot study显示文摘Nanofiltration(NF)using loose membranes has a high application potential for advanced treatment of drinking water by selectively removing contaminants from the water,while membrane fouling remains one of the biggest problems of the process.This paper reported a seven-month pilot study of using a loose NF membrane to treat a sand filtration effluent which had a relatively high turbidity(∼0.4 NTU)and high concentrations of organic matter(up to 5 mg/L as TOC),hardness and sulfate.Results showed that the membrane demonstrated a high rejection of TOC(by<90%)and a moderately high rejection of two pesticides(54%–82%)while a moderate rejection of both calcium and magnesium(∼45%)and a low rejection of total dissolved solids(∼27%).The membrane elements suffered from severe membrane fouling,with the membrane permeance decreased by 70%after 85 days operation.The membrane fouling was dominated by organic fouling,while biological fouling was moderate.Inorganic fouling was mainly caused by deposition of aluminum-bearing substances.Though inorganic foulants were minor contents on membrane,their contribution to overall membrane fouling was substantial.Membrane fouling was not uniform on membrane.While contents of organic and inorganic foulants were the highest at the inlet and outlet region,respectively,the severity of membrane fouling increased from the inlet to the outlet region of membrane element with a difference higher than 30%.While alkaline cleaning was not effective in removing the membrane foulants,the use of ethylenediamine tetraacetate(EDTA)at alkaline conditions could effectively restore the membrane permeance. | Danyang Liu Johny Cabrera Lijuan Zhong Wenjing Wang Dingyuan Duan Xiaomao Wang Shuming Liu Yuefeng F.Xie | 2021 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,4: | 3 |

| 13 | Light-triggered nitric oxide release and structure transformation of peptide for enhanced intratumoral retention and sensitized photodynamic therapy显示文摘Tumor-targeted delivery of nanomedicine is of great importance to improve therapeutic efficacy of cancer and minimize systemic side effects.Unfortunately,nowadays the targeting efficiency of nanomedicine toward tumor is still quite limited and far from clinical requirements.In this work,we develop an innovative peptide-based nanoparticle to realize light-triggered nitric oxide(NO)release and structural transformation for enhanced intratumoral retention and simultaneously sensitizing photodynamic therapy(PDT).The designed nanoparticle is self-assembled from a chimeric peptide monomer,TPP-RRRKLVFFK-Ce6,which contains a photosensitive moiety(chlorin e6,Ce6),aβ-sheet-forming peptide domain(Lys-Leu-Val-Phe-Phe,KLVFF),an oligoarginine domain(RRR)as NO donor and a triphenylphosphonium(TPP)moiety for targeting mitochondria.When irradiated by light,the constructed nanoparticles undergo rapid structural transformation from nanosphere to nanorod,enabling to achieve a significantly higher intratumoral accumulation by 3.26 times compared to that without light irradiation.More importantly,the conversion of generated NO and reactive oxygen species(ROS)in a light-responsive way to peroxynitrite anions(ONOO)with higher cytotoxicity enables NO to sensitize PDT in cancer treatment.Both in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate that NO sensitized PDT based on the well-designed transformable nanoparticles enables to eradicate tumors efficiently.The light-triggered transformable nanoplatform developed in this work provides a new strategy for enhanced intratumoral retention and improved therapeutic outcome. | Lingdong Jiang Danyang Chen Zhaokui Jin Chao Xia Qingqing Xu Mingjian Fan Yunlu Dai Jia Liu Yuanpei Li Qianjun He | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,6: | 3 |

| 16 | Understanding the relationships between poverty alleviation and ecosystem conservation:empirical evidence from western China显示文摘Despite growing interest in the use of Payments for Ecosystem Services(PES)for both social and ecological benefits,few studies have investigated the feedback and interaction between poverty alleviation and ecosystem protection outcomes.In this study,the poverty reduction effects of PES policies and their subsequent influence on environmental protection outcomes are investigated.To address these questions,222 local rural households who were involved in PES programs from the Habahu National Nature Reserve in western China were interviewed.The results showed that the social and ecological outcomes of PES policies are neither two separate entities nor a trade-off.While rural households are the key participants in PES programs,the social and ecological outcomes of PES policies are closely related to each other.In addition,poverty reduction results could greatly influence ecosystem conservation effects.Livelihood assets,as well as the attitudes of rural households,play important roles in both of the outcomes.This research provides a new perspective that considers the social and ecological benefits of PES policies,and it also calls for an integrated consideration of social and ecological components in tihe design of PES policies to achieve enhanced results both for poverty alleviation and ecosystem conservation. | Xujun HU Huiyuan ZHANG Haiguang HAO Danyang FENG Haiyan LIU Qiang ZHANG | 2020 | Frontiers of Earth Science2020,14,1: | 2 |
| 17 | Validation results of NmF2 and hmF2 derived from ionospheric density profiles of GNOS on FY-3C satellite显示文摘The first Global Navigation Satellite System Occultation Sounder(GNOS) which is compatible of both Bei Dou System(BDS)and Global Positioning System(GPS) was successfully launched into orbit onboard the Feng Yun 3 C satellite(FY-3 C) on September 23, 2013, and it has already gathered a large amount of ionosphere radio occultation(RO) data so far. However, the detailed analysis and validation of GPS ionosphere RO data have not been done up to now. Therefore, this paper discusses the configuration of the FY-3 C GNOS, the methods and results of GPS ionosphere occultation processment, the quality analysis of the GPS ionosphere RO products, and the precision consistency between the GNOS GPS ionosphere RO product and ionosonde data. The peak electron density(Nm F2) correlation coefficient is 0.97, the corresponding standard deviation is 16.08%. The peak value altitude(hm F2) correlation coefficient is 0.89, and the corresponding standard deviation is 23.79 km. | 18 | Electrical conductivities of two granite samples in southern Tibet and their geophysical implications显示文摘There are clear differences in the electrical conductivities of the crustal granites of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.Because these granites are among the major rock types on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, it is very important to detect the electrical conductivity of granites under high temperatures and pressures to study the electrical conductivity structure of this area. Using impedance spectroscopy at a frequency range of 10.1–106 Hz, the electrical conductivity of the muscovite-granite collected from Yadong was investigated at a confining pressure of 1.0 GPa and temperatures ranging from 577 to 996 K, while the electrical conductivity of the biotite-granite collected from Lhasa was investigated at a pressure of 1.0 GPa and temperatures ranging from587 to 1382 K. The calculated activation enthalpies of the Yadong muscovite-granite sample is 0.92 eV in the low-temperature range(577–919 K) and 2.16 eV in the high-temperature range(919–996 K). The activation enthalpies of the Lhasa biotite-granite sample is 0.48 eV in the low-temperature range(587–990 K) and 2.06 eV in the high-temperature range(990–1382 K). The change in the activation enthalpies of the granites at different temperature ranges may be associated with the dehydration of the two samples. The electrical conductivities of the granite samples obtained in the laboratory using impedance spectroscopy correspond well with field observations conducted near the sampling points, both in terms of the actual conductivity values and the observed variations between the low-temperature and high-temperature regimes. This correlation of laboratory and field conductivities indicates that the conductivities of the crustal rocks in the two regions closely correspond to granite conductivities.We calculated the electrical conductivities of muscovite-granite and biotite-granite samples using the effective medium and HS boundary models. When applied to the crustal rocks of southern Tibet, the results of the geophysical conductivity profiles lie within the range of laboratory data.
