3Comparative efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal injections combined with transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization in treatment of liver cancer: a bayesian network Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To address the optimal Chinese herbal injections(CHIs) against liver cancer, the present network Meta-analysis is designed to investigate the comparative efficacy and safety of different CHIs.METHODS: Several electronic databases were searched up to June 1 st, 2017. The quality assessment was conducted and network Meta-analysis was performed to compare the efficacy and safety of different CHIs plus transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization(TACE). Primary outcomes were 1-year and 2-year survival rate, the secondary outcomes includes the clinical effective rate, performance status and the adverse reactions(ADRs). Data analysis was applied Stata 13.0 and Win BUGS 1.4 software.RESULTS: A total of 105 randomized controlled trials(RCTs) were identified for inclusion in this analysis, with data for 7683 patients and 13 CHIs. The results suggested that Javanica oil emulsion,Huachansu injection plus TACE were more favorable for 1-year and 2-year survival rate than other CHIs. 4An update: Epstein-Barr virus and immune evasion via microRNA regulation显示文摘Epstein-Barr virus(EBV) is an oncogenic virus that ubiquitously establishes life-long persistence in humans. To ensure its survival and maintain its B cell transformation function, EBV has developed powerful strategies to evade host immune responses. Emerging evidence has shown that micro RNAs(mi RNAs) are powerful regulators of the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. In this review, we summarize current progress on how EBV utilizes mi RNAs for immune evasion. EBV encodes mi RNAs targeting both viral and host genes involved in the immune response. The mi RNAs are found in two gene clusters, and recent studies have demonstrated that lack of these clusters increases the CD4^+ and CD8^+ T cell response of infected cells. These reports strongly indicate that EBV mi RNAs are critical for immune evasion. In addition, EBV is able to dysregulate the expression of a variety of host mi RNAs, which influence multiple immune-related molecules and signaling pathways. The transport via exosomes of EBV-regulated mi RNAs and viral proteins contributes to the construction and modification of the inflammatory tumor microenvironment.During EBV immune evasion, viral proteins, immune cells, chemokines, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and pro-apoptosis molecules are involved. 5Middle-Miocene transformation of tectonic regime in the Himalayan orogen显示文摘Understanding the multiple tectonic transformations during the Himalayan orogeny is significant in evaluating the evolution of Himalayan orogen.In the Gyirong area in south Tibet,deformed leucogranitic veins in the biotite-plagioclase gneisses of Greater Himalayan crystalline complex(GHC) constitute south-vergent asymmetric folds.The reconstruction of the veins shows that they experienced two generations of deformation under different tectonic regimes:an earlier top-to-north extension and a later top-to-south thrusting,implying a tectonic transformation from N-S extension to N-S shortening.Zircons LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of the leucogranite shows that it was emplaced during 21.03-18.7 Ma.The data suggest that the tectonic transformation occurred after 18.7 Ma.The chronological data of South Tibet detachment system(STDS) and North-South trending rift(NSTR) from Gyirong and other areas indicate that the Himalayan orogeny was in a period of tectonic transformation from N-S extension to N-S shortening during 19-13 Ma.The transformation of tectonic regime was probably controlled by the India-Asia convergence rate.An increase in the convergence rate resulted in N-S shortening of the orogen,thrusting and folding,with coeval formation of the NSTR in Tibet.A decrease in the convergence rate led to N-S extension and reactivation of the STDS.WANG XiaoXian ZHANG JinJiang LIU Jiang YAN ShuYu WANG JiaMin 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,1:8

7Protective effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived conditioned medium on ovarian damage显示文摘Chemotherapeutic agents are extensively used to treat malignancies.However,chemotherapy-induced ovarian damage and reduced fertility are severe side effects.Recently,stem cell transplantation has been reported to be an effective strategy for premature ovarian insufficiency(POI)treatment,but safety can still be an issue in stem cell-based therapy.Here,we show the protective effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived conditioned medium(hUCMSC-CM)on a cisplatin(Cs)-induced ovarian injury model.hUCMSC-CM can relieve Cs-induced depletion of follicles and preserve fertility.In addition,hUCMSC-CM can decrease apoptosis of oocytes and granulosa cells induced by Cs.RNA sequencing analysis reveals the differentially expressed genes of ovaries after Cs and hUCMSC-CM treatments,including genes involved in cell apoptosis.Furthermore,we show that the granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF)/phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt)pathway plays an important role in protecting granulosa cells from Cs-induced apoptosis.Together,we confirm the protective effects of hUCMSC-CM on ovarian reserve and fertility in mice treated with Cs,highlighting the remarkable therapeutic effects of hUCMSC-CM.Liming Hong Long Yan Zhimin Xin Jie Hao Wenjing Liu Shuyu Wang Shujie Liao Hongmei Wang Xiaokui Yang 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,5:7
8The effects of vegetation restoration strategies and seasons on soil enzyme activities in the Karst landscapes of Yunnan, southwest China显示文摘Soil enzymes play a vital role in biogeochemical cycling and ecosystem functions.In this study,we examined the response of six soil enzymes to changes in physicochemical properties resulting from changes in season and vegetation and geological conditions.Catalase,urease,acid phosphatase,invertase,amylase,and cellulase not only promote carbon,nitrogen,and phosphorus cycling,but also participate in the decomposition of harmful substances.Thirty-six soil samples were collected from karst and non-karst areas in two different seasons and from three different types of vegetation in Yunnan province,southwest China.Both vegetation types and season had significant effects on soil physicochemical properties and enzyme activities.In the same plot,soil water content,electrical conductivity,organic carbon,total nitrogen,and total phosphorus increased in the rainy season,indicating enhanced microbial metabolic activity.With the exception of urease activity,the remaining five enzymes showed higher activity in the rainy season.Changes in activities between the two seasons were significant in all samples.In the same season,activity levels of soil enzymes were higher in karst areas than in non-karst areas,and higher in natural forest than in artificial forests.The transformative abilities of soil elements are higher in karst areas than in non-karst areas,and higher in natural forests than in artificial forests.Correlation analysis showed that the activities of the six enzymes correlated significantly;however,soil physical and chemical indices,such as organic matter,pH,and moisture,which are essential for enzyme activity,differed by season.Redundancy analysis also revealed that the main factors influencing enzyme activity differed between the two seasons.The results from this study provide a theoretical basis for further research on the restoration of natural ecological systems in karst landscapes.Zhouzhou Fan Shuyu Lu Shuang Liu Zhaorong Li Jiaxin Hong Jinxing Zhou Xiawei Peng 2020Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,5:5
9Responses of plant community to the linkages in plant-soil C:N:P stoichiometry during secondary succession of abandoned farmlands,China显示文摘Succession is one of the central themes of ecology;however,the relationship between aboveground plant communities and underground soils during secondary succession remains unclear.In this study,we investigated the composition of plant community,plant-soil C:N:P stoichiometry and their relationships during secondary succession after the abandonment of farmlands for 0,10,20,30,40 and 50 a in China,2016.Results showed that the composition of plant communities was most diverse in the farmlands after secondary succession for 20 and 50 a.Soil organic carbon and total nitrogen contents slightly decreased after secondary succession for 30 a,but both were significantly higher than those of control farmland(31.21%-139.10%and 24.24%-121.21%,respectively).Moreover,C:N ratios of soil and microbe greatly contributed to the changes in plant community composition during secondary succession of abandoned farmlands,explaining 35.70%of the total variation.Particularly,soil C:N ratio was significantly and positively related with the Shannon-Wiener index.This study provides the evidence of synchronous evolution between plant community and soil during secondary succession and C:N ratio is an important linkage between them.LIU Weichao FU Shuyue YAN Shengji REN Chengjie WU Shaojun DENG Jian LI Boyong HAN Xinhui YANG Gaihe 2020Journal of Arid Land2020,12,2:5
10Effects of regulated deficit irrigation on soil salinity,physiological processes and fruit quality of gray jujube under desert conditions显示文摘Regulated deficit irrigation(RDI)was applied to gray jujube trees in an oasis region,to determine the effects of this irrigation system on soil salinity,gray jujube physiological processes,fruit yield,and fruit quality.Treatments consisted of severe,moderate and low deficit irrigation(irrigated with 85%,70%and 55%of CK,respectively)at the flowering stage to fruit set stage.During the other growth stages,all treatments were irrigated with 80%of pan evaporation,which was the same as that in control.The results indicated that soil salinity was enhanced during the periods of water stress,but the high value of soil salinity declined by 3.48%-37.27%,at each depth,after irrigation was resumed.RDI caused a decline in the photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,and stomatal conductance,but enhanced the water use efficiency of the leaves.However,the leaf photosynthetic rate was effectively enhanced after the recovery of irrigation,especially in the moderate deficit irrigation treatment,which exceeded the control.This led to an improved fruit yield,which was 9.57%higher than that of the control.The deficit treatments caused a significant increase in the soluble solid content,soluble sugar content,single fruit weight and sugar/acid ratio.Enhanced vitamin C content,resulting from deficit treatments,has also been observed in the gray jujube.Therefore,this research shows that RDI provides some benefits in the production of gray jujube trees in desert conditions.Zhipeng Liu Chengli Zhu Shuyu Wu Weihua Guo Yitikaer Abudushalamu Xiyun Jiao Shipei Gao Jie Wang 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,3:3
11Recent developments and progress of inorganic photo-stimulated phosphors显示文摘Photo-stimulated luminescence(PSL) is the process in which trapped charges are released by photons and produce luminescence through recombination. The variegated optical characteristics of photostimulated phosphors(PSPs) have drawn increasing attention and a large body of work encompassing mechanism and application of PSPs has been addressed. The optical data storage capacity resulting from abundant defect states enables PSPs to be applied to information storage. Moreover, PSPs provide potential application for anti-counterfeiting, as color changes due to the tunneling process. Recently, near infrared(NIR) light PSPs have been developed, exhibiting enormous potential for in vivo bio-imaging, as the stable and high noise-signal ratio characteristic of PSL. 15RhizoVision Crown:An Integrated Hardware and Software Platform for Root Crown Phenotyping显示文摘Root crown phenotyping measures the top portion of crop root systems and can be used for marker-assisted breeding,genetic mapping,and understanding how roots influence soil resource acquisition.Several imaging protocols and image analysis programs exist,but they are not optimized for high-throughput,repeatable,and robust root crown phenotyping.The RhizoVision Crown platform integrates an imaging unit,image capture software,and image analysis software that are optimized for reliable extraction of measurements from large numbers of root crowns.The hardware platform utilizes a backlight and a monochrome machine vision camera to capture root crown silhouettes.The RhizoVision Imager and RhizoVision Analyzer are free,open-source software that streamline image capture and image analysis with intuitive graphical user interfaces.The RhizoVision Analyzer was physically validated using copper wire,and features were extensively validated using 10,464 groundtruth simulated images of dicot and monocot root systems.This platform was then used to phenotype soybean and wheat root crowns.A total of 2,799 soybean(Glycine max)root crowns of 187 lines and 1,753 wheat(Triticum aestivum)root crowns of 186 lines were phenotyped.Principal component analysis indicated similar correlations among features in both species.The maximum heritability was 0.74 in soybean and 0.22 in wheat,indicating that differences in species and populations need to be considered.The integrated RhizoVision Crown platform facilitates high-throughput phenotyping of crop root crowns and sets a standard by which open plant phenotyping platforms can be benchmarked.Anand Seethepalli Haichao Guo Xiuwei Liu Marcus Griffiths Hussien Almtarfi Zenglu Li Shuyu Liu Alina Zare Felix B.Fritschi Elison B.Blancaflor Xue-Feng Ma Larry M.York 2020Plant Phenomics2020,2,1:2

19Research on the threshold effect of population aging on the industrial structure upgrading in China显示文摘This paper constructs coefficients of the integral and the internal structure upgrading in the secondary and tertiary industries, selects per capita real gross domestic product as a threshold variable and build panel threshold model according to inter-provincial panel data of China from 1998 to 2016. Results indicated that population aging has a double threshold effect on the integral industrial structure upgrading, whose influence increases first and then decreases, significantly promoting the upgrading process. As for internal structure, population aging has no significant threshold effect on the upgrading in the secondary industry, but exerts a single negative threshold effect in the tertiary industry. When economic development is under the threshold, its negative impact is greater. 20Exosomes in cancer immunoediting and immunotherapy显示文摘As an important means of communication among cells,exosomes are being studied more and more widely,especially in the context of cancer immunotherapy.In the phase of tumor immunoediting,exosomes derived from tumor cells and different immune cells have complex and changeable physiological functions,because they carry different proteins and nucleic acid from the source cells.Based on the role of exosomes in the communication between different cells,cancer treatment methods are also under continuous research.This review briefly introduces the molecular composition of exosomes,which is closely related to their secretion mechanism.Subsequently,the role of exosomes encapsulating different information molecules is summarized.The role of exosomes in the three phases of tumor immunoediting is introduced in detail,and the relevant literature of exosomes in the tumor immunemicroenvironment is summarized by using a novel framework for extracting relevant documents.Finally,it summarizes the various exosome-based immunotherapies currently proposed,as well as the challenges and future prospects of exosomes in tumor immunotherapy.Yarong Zhao Luotong Liu Rongze Sun Guilin Cui Shuyu Guo Songren Han Ziwei Li Tian Bai Lesheng Teng 2022Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2022,17,2:1
