| 1 | Modular growth and clonal propagation of Hippophae rhamnoides subsp, sinensis in response to irrigation intensity显示文摘A multipurpose clone plant species,Hippophae rhamniodes has the capacity for indefinite longevity,although under successive drought stress it may often decline or die across large areas.Field trials were conducted over 2 years to examine the effects of varied irrigation intensities on modular growth and clonal propagation in a semi-arid area.Irrigation levels included a control,as well as two,four and six times the volume of water that was typically received via local annual average precipitation.Irrigation intensity significantly influenced clonal propagation capacity(number of daughter ramets),aboveground modular growth(height,base diameter,and crown width),belowground modular growth included root nodule dry weight,stretching capacity of lateral roots(length of the longest lateral roots,and diameter of firstgrade lateral roots),and branching intensity of lateral roots(number of lateral roots bifurcation grade,number of firstgrade lateral roots).The modular growth and the density of daughter ramets were small under non-irrigation or low irrigation,and became larger with increased irrigation intensity.Beyond a certain threshold,however,further increases in irrigation intensity resulted in a reversion to the development.The optimal irrigation intensities for growth and propagation were 3.48–5.29 times the volume of nominal local annual average precipitation.There were effects of irrigation intensities on the positive significant correlations between aboveground and belowground modular growths,and on clonal propagation capacities.Under various water treatments,H.rhamnoides may adapt to the environment through the regulation of growth and propagation.We concluded that water shortages act to weaken the growth and propagation of H.rhamniodes plantations. | Zilin Cao Tianjiang Li Genqian Li Chunhong Liu Haiyin Gao Guanghui Dai Zhiyong Xiao Sunling Li | 2016 | Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,5: | 14 |
| 2 | Synthesis and characterization of boron nitride sponges as a novel support for metal nanoparticles显示文摘This paper describes a simple synthetic route for the synthesis of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) powders with high specific surface area, in which BBr3, NH4Cl and Al powders are used as starting materials. The structure and composition of the powders were characterized by electron diffraction, Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in the selected area. X-ray diffraction shows wide peaks of crystalline h-BN with the particle size on the nanometer scale, and transmission electron microscopy reveals that the products have a novel spongy morphology. Silver nanoparticles loaded h-BN sponges were prepared via a one-step synthesis method. | 4 | The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. | 5 | Tomato SlPUB24 enhances resistance to Xanthomonas euvesicatoria pv. perforans race T3显示文摘Solanum lycopersicum var.cerasiforme accession PI 114490 has broad-spectrum resistance to bacterial spot caused by several species of Xanthomonas.Resistance is quantitatively inherited,and a common quantitative trait locus QTL-11B on chromosome 11 has been identified previously.In this study,the SlPub24 gene was characterized in QTL-11B.SlPub24 in PI 114490 was upregulated by infection with X.euvesicatoria pv.perforans race T3,but its transcription was low in the susceptible line OH 88119 whether or not it was infected by the pathogen.The differential expression of SlPub24 between PI 114490 and OH 88119 was due to great sequence variation in the promoter region.The promoter of SlPub24 in OH 88119 had very low activity and did not respond to pathogen infection.Transgenic lines of OH 88119 overexpressing SlPub24 isolated from PI 114490 showed significantly enhanced resistance,while mutants of Slpub24 generated by CRISPR/Cas9 editing showed more susceptibility to race T3 and to other races.The mutants also showed spontaneous cell death in leaves.The expression of the salicylic acid(SA)pathway gene phenylalanine ammonia-lyase(PAL)and signaling-related genes pathogenesis-related(PR1)and nonexpresser of PR1(NPR1)were influenced by SlPub24.The content of SA in tomato plants was consistent with the level of SlPub24 expression.Furthermore,SlPUB24 interacted with the cell wall protein SlCWP and could regulate the degradation of SlCWP.The expression levels of SlCWP and SlCWINV1,a cell wall invertase gene,showed opposite patterns during pathogen infection.The activity of SlCWINV1 was lower in mutants than in PI 114490.The results are discussed in terms of the roles of the abovementioned genes,and a potential model for SlPUB24-mediated resistance to bacterial spot is proposed. | Xin Liu Ge Meng Mengrui Wang Zilin Qian Yaxian Zhang Wencai Yang | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 4 |

| 8 | Shenkang injection improves coagulation in patients with chronic kidney disease: a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Shenkang injection(SKI) on chronic kidney disease(CKD).METHODS: Seven databases including Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, and CQVIP from their inception to March 2018 were searched. Only randomized controlled trials that evaluated conventional treatment and conventional treatment with SKI in CKD patients were investigated. Outcomes such as fibrinogen(FIB), D-dimer, prothrombin time(PT), activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT), and the side effects of SKI were analyzed using Revman 5.3 software. The quality of the studies was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration’s Risk of Bias tool and the quality of evidence was assessed using GRADEpro.RESULTS: Four randomized controlled trials were investigated in our analysis, and these studies were of moderate quality. For FIB and D-dimer, SKI had a superior effect compared with the control group(mean difference(MD)=-1.23, 95% confidence interval(CI):-1.46,-0.99, P < 0.01;MD =-0.36, 95%CI:-0.51,-0.21, P < 0.01, respectively)SKI increased APTT and PT compared with the control(MD = 7.34, 95% CI: 3.05, 11.62, P < 0.01;MD = 3.40,95% CI: 2.2, 4.61, P < 0.01, respectively). In the four studies, there were no side effects that were related to SKI.CONCLUSION: SKI may be effective in improving coagulation in patients with CKD without obvious adverse reactions. | 13 | Anti-fatigue activity of Brassica rapa L.extract and correlation among biochemical changes in forced swimming mice显示文摘Brassica rapa L.is an edible and medical plant in China used for treating various diseases,especially in the Tibet region.In this study,the chemical constituents of Brassica rapa L.extract(BE)was clarified by UHPLC-MS and anti-fatigue ability of BE was assessed through the behavior test and weight-loaded forced swimming test in mice.Then we determined several biochemical parameters related to fatigue to explore possible reasons.Results indicate that BE could significantly enhance exercise performance in mice,and there was a significant improvement in both grip-strength and the time on rota-rods.Meanwhile,BE showed significant anti-fatigue effects by decreasing the blood lactic acid(BLA),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),and creatine kinase(CK)levels and increasing the lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)and malondialdehyde(MDA)levels.Increases in superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)were observed and reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels was regulated.Liver and muscle glycogen levels and adenosine triphosphate(ATP)levels were also significantly increased.Pearson correlation analysis indicates that fatigue-related indexes including metabolites and energy-related indexes were significantly correlated with antioxidant levels.In conclusion,BE possesses remarkable anti-fatigue activity,thereby shows great potential for improving exercise performance and alleviating physical fatigue and can be considered as a functional food supplement for further development. | Zilin Li Hongkang Zhu Hanyi Hua Chang Liu Yuliang Cheng Yahui Guo Peng Du He Qian | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,47,3: | 2 |

| 15 | The size-fractionated chlorophyll a and primary productivity in the Bering Sea during the summer of 2003显示文摘Investigations of chlorophyll a and primary productivity were carried out in the Bering Sea along the BR line and the BS line during the Second Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition in the summer of 2003. The results showed that the surface chlorophyll a concentrations were 0.199~1.170 μg/dm3, and the average value was 0.723 μg/dm3 on the BR line. For the BS line, the surface chlorophyll a concentrations were 0.519~4.644 μg/dm3 (average 1.605 μg/dm3) and 0.568~14.968 μg/dm3 (average 5.311 μg/dm3) during the early and late summer, respectively. The average value in the late summer was much higher than that in the early summer. The high values (more than 4.0 μg/dm3) occurred at stations of the BS line in the southern Bering Strait. The chlorophyll a concentrations in the subsurface layer were higher than those in the surface layer. The results of the size-fractionated chlorophyll a showed that the contribution of the picoplankton to total chlorophyll a was the predominance at the early summer and the contribution of the netplankton was the predominance at the late summer. The carbon potential primary productivities varied between 0.471 and 1.147 mg/(m3·h) on the BR line, with average rates of 0.728 mg/(m3·h). The primary productivities on the BS line were much higher than those of the BR line, ranging from 1.227 mg/(m3·h) at the early summer to 19.046 mg/(m3·h) at the late summer. The results of the size-fractionated primary productivity showed that the contribution of the nanoplankton to total productivity was the predominance at the early summer and the contribution of the netplankton was predominance at the late summer. The results showed higher biological parameters in the bay. The average chlorophyll a (chl a) concentration was (3. 50 5. 93 ) mg/m3 and the primary productivity (444. 5 871. 0) mg/(m2 d). The distribution of chl a and productivity showed distinct spatial and temporal patterns in the bay. The continent influence was Obvious at the top of the bay, lower seawater exchange and higher stability led to higher standing stock of phytoplankton and productivity. At the bay mouth, seawater exchanged continuously with adjacent waters by rapid currents, resulting in fast and unstable exchange and lower standing stock of phytoplankton and primary productivity. The seasonal characters of those parameters were pronounced, in the sequence of spring, summer, autumn and winter. | 18 | Triple-functional bone adhesive with enhanced internal fixation,bacteriostasis and osteoinductive properties for open fracture repair显示文摘At present,effective fixation and anti-infection implant materials represent the mainstay for the treatment of open fractures.However,external fixation can cause nail tract infections and is ineffective for fixing small fracture fragments.Moreover,closed reduction and internal fixation during the early stage of injury can lead to potential bone infection,conducive to bone nonunion and delayed healing.Herein,we designed a bone adhesive with anti-infection,osteogenic and bone adhesion fixation properties to promote reduction and fixation of open fractures and subsequent soft tissue repair.It was prepared by the reaction of gelatin(Gel)and oxidized starch(OS)with vancomycin(VAN)-loaded mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles(MBGNs)covalently cross-linked with Schiff bases.Characterization and adhesion experiments were conducted to validate the successful preparation of the Gel-OS/VAN@MBGNs(GOVM-gel)adhesive.Meanwhile,in vitro cell experiments demonstrated its good antibacterial effects with the ability to stimulate bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell(BMSCs)proliferation,upregulate the expression of alkaline phosphatase(ALP)and osteogenic proteins(RunX2 and OPN)and enhance the deposition of calcium nodules.Additionally,we established a rat skull fracture model and a subcutaneous infection model.The histological analysis showed that bone adhesive enhanced osteogenesis,and in vivo experiments demonstrated that the number of inflammatory cells and bacteria was significantly reduced.Overall,the adhesive could promote early reduction of fractures and antibacterial and osteogenic effects,providing the foothold for treatment of this patient population. | Yusheng Yang Shenghui Su Shencai Liu Weilu Liu Qinfeng Yang Liangjie Tian Zilin Tan Lei Fan Bin Yu Jian Wang Yanjun Hu | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,7: | 1 |
| 19 | Interannual Variations of Phytoplankton, Zooplankton and Chlorophyll a in the Arctic Seas and Their Relations to ENSO and AO显示文摘To study effects of variations in climate-marine environment in the Arctic Ocean on ecology,based on the actual and reestablished data by biomarkers of algae in sediment in 1997,1999,2003,2008,and 2010,the interannual and spatial variations of phytoplankton,zooplankton and chlorophyll a concentration in the Chukchi Sea and the Bering Sea as well as their relations to El Nino-Southern Oscillation( ENSO) and Arctic Oscillation( AO) were analyzed. The results show that there were spatial and temporal anomalies in the phytoplankton community structure reestablished by biomarkers of algae in the Chukchi Sea and the Bering Sea in 1999 and 2010. The total content of biomarkers( brassicasterol,dinosterol,C37 alkenones and chlesterol) in sediment collected in 2010 was far lower than that in 1999,but brassicasterol was dominant in the two years,that is,diatom was dominant,which was consistent with the actual structure and distribution of phytoplankton community in 1999 and 2010; there were great changes in the dominant species of plankton in the two seas in 1999 and 2010,which could be regarded as the ecological response of the North Pole under the background of global warming. Chlorophyll a concentration in the water of the Bering Sea was 0. 720 μg/dm^3 at 0 m and 0. 765μg/dm^3 at 10 m in 1997 and 0. 723 μg/dm^3 at 0 m and 0. 731 μg/dm^3 at 10 m in 2003,and the concentration was very close to each other,which was affected by El Ni1 o and the negative phase of AO. It was 0. 395 μg/dm^3 at 0 m in 1999 and 0. 399 μg/dm^3 at 0 m and 0. 357 μg/dm^3 at 10 m in 2008,which was influenced by La Ni1 a and the positive phase of AO. The phases and intensity of AO and ENSO had various effects on the quantity and dominant species of phytoplankton and zooplankton in the Chukchi Sea and the Bering Sea. During the period of AO with positive or negative phase and El Ni1o( in 1997 and 2003),their combination was favorable to the growth of phytoplankton and zooplankton,while the combination of negative phase of AO and La Nina( in 2010) had adverse effects on the growth of phytoplankton.
