The Role of MicroRNAs in Neural Stem Cells and Neurogenesis显示文摘Neural stem cells give rise to neurons through the process of neurogenesis, which includes neural stem cell proliferation, fate determination of new neurons,as well as the new neuron's migration, maturation and integration.Currently, neurogenesis is divided into two phases:embryonic and adult phases.Embryonic neurogenesis occurs at high levels to form the central nervous system.Adult neurogenesis has been consistently identified only in restricted regions and occurs at low levels. As the basic process for embryonic neurodevelopment and adult brain maintenance, neurogenesis is tightly regulated by many factors and pathways.MicroRNA,short non-coding RNA that regulates gene expression at the post-transcriptional level, appears to be involved in multiple steps of neurogenesis. This review summarizes the emerging role of microRNAs in regulating embryonic and adult neurogenesis, with a particular emphasis on the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells.Fen Ji Xiaohui Lv Jianwei Jiao 2013Journal of Genetics and Genomics2013,40,2:11

Comparative genomic study of gastric epithelial cells co-cultured with Helicobacter pylori显示文摘AIM:To identify genes potentially involved in Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)-induced gastric carcinogenesis.METHODS:GES-1 cells were co-cultured with H.pylori strains isolated from patients with gastric carcinoma(GC,n = 10) or chronic gastritis(CG,n = 10) for in vitro proliferation and apoptosis assays to identify the most and least virulent strains. These two strains were cagA-genotyped and used for further in vivo carcinogenic virulence assays by infecting Mongolian gerbils for 52 wk,respectively;a broth free of H.pylori was lavaged as control.Genomic profiles of GES-1 cells cocultured with the most and least virulent strains were determined by microarray analysis. The most differentially expressed genes were further verified using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction in GES-1cells infected with the most and least virulent strains, and by immunohistochemistry in H.pylori positive CG,precancerous diseases, and GC biopsy specimens in an independent experiment.RESULTS:GC-derived H.pylori strains induced a potent proliferative effect in GES-1 cells in co-culture,whereas CG-derived strains did not.The most(from a GC patient) and least(from a CG patient) virulent strains were cagA-positive and negative, respectively. At week 52,CG,atrophy,metaplasia,dysplasia,and GC were observed in 90.0%,80.0%,80.0%,90%,and 60.0%,respectively,of the animals lavaged with the most virulent strain. However, only mild CG was observed in 90% of the animals lavaged with the least virulent strain. On microarray analysis,800 differentially expressed genes(49 up-and 751 down-regulated),involving those associated with cell cycle regulation, cell apoptosis, cytoskeleton, immune response, and substance and energy metabolisms, were identified in cells co-cultured with the most virulent strain as compared with those co-cultured with the least virulent strain. The six most differentially expressed genes(with a betweenness centrality of 0.1-0.2) were identified among the significant differential gene profile network, including JUN,KRAS,BRCA1,SMAD2,TRAF1,and HDAC6.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analyses verified that HDAC6 and TRFA1 mRNA expressions were significantly more up-regulated in GES-1 cells cocultured with the most virulent strain than in those cocultured with the least virulent strain.Immunohistochemistry of gastric mucosal specimens from H.pyloripositive patients with CG,intestinal metaplasia(IM),dysplasia, and GC showed that moderately positive and strongly positive HDAC6 expression was detected in 21.7% of CG patients,30.0% of IM patients,54.5% of dysplasia patients, and 77.8% of GC patients(P < 0.001).The up-regulation of TRAF1 expressions was detected in 34.8%,53.3%,72.7%,and 88.9% specimens of CG,IM,dysplasia, and GC,respectively(P < 0.001).CONCLUSION:The overexpression of HDAC6 and TRAF1 in GES-1 cells co-cultured with the GC-derived strain and in H.pylori-positive dysplasia and GC suggests that HDAC6 and TRAF1 may be involved in H.pyloriinduced gastric carcinogenesis.Fen Wang Li-Dan Luo Jian-Hua Pan Li-Hua Huang Hong-Wei Lv Qin Guo Can-Xia Xu Shou-Rong Shen 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,48:3

Population Structure Analysis and Genome-Wide Association Study of Tea(Camellia sinensis(L.)Kuntze)Germplasm in Qiannan,China,Based on SLAF-Seq Technology显示文摘Duyun Maojian tea is a famous tea in China. In this study, the specific-locus amplified fragment(SLAF)sequencing method was used to analyze the population structure and conduct a genome-wide association study(GWAS)of 2 leaf traits of 123 tea plants in Qiannan,China.A total of 462,019 SLAF tags and 11,362,041 single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)loci were obtained. The results of phylogenetic tree analysis, cluster analysis, and principal component analysis showed that 123 tea germplasms were clustered into three groups, and the heterozygosity rates for Groups I,II,and II were 0.206,0.224,and 0.34,respectively.Generally,tea germplasms in a production area are clustered in a group, indicating that tea germplasms in different production areas have certain genetic diversity. The traditional Duyun Maojian tea core production areas,TS and DC-SJ,are clustered into Group I and Group II respectively, while the ZY production area is relatively independent in Group III.Furthermore, based on GWAS analysis,11 candidate genes related to leaf apex and 7 candidate genes related to leaf shape were obtained. This study clarified the genetic relationship among eight Duyun Maojian tea production areas and obtained candidate genes related to leaf apex and leaf shape development. The results showed that population structure and candidate genes are an effective basis for the breeding of Duyun Maojian tea germplasm.Fen Zhang Weili Tian Lu Cen Litang Lv Xiaofang Zeng Yulu Chen Yichen Zhao Yan Li 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,4:1

Carbon composite support improving catalytic effect of NbC nanoparticles on the low-temperature hydrogen storage performance of MgH_(2)显示文摘Ultrafine carbon-based transition metal compounds have been widely investigated as efficient catalysts for enhancing the hydrogen storage performance of magnesium hydride. In this work, the carbon ther-mal shock method is applied to synthesize the ultrafine carbon-encapsulated NbC nanoparticles with an average grain size of 17.3 nm.The MgH_(2)-10 wt%NbC/C composites show excellent low-temperature hy-drogen storage performance with the onset dehydrogenation temperature of 196.1℃,which is 92.2℃ and 98℃ lower than that of MgH_(2)-10 wt%NbC and undoped MgH_(2),respectively.Specifically,MgH_(2)-10 wt%NbC/C can absorb 6.71 wt%H_(2) at 100℃ within 30 min around and retain almost 100%reversible hydrogen desorption capacity after 10 cycles. For the catalytic mechanism, the electron transfer process between multi-valence Nb cations of in-situ formed NbH x and Mg,H atoms can greatly improve the cyclic de/rehydrogenation kinetics of MgH_(2)-NbC/C.Besides,the enhancement of dehydrogenation kinetics can also be ascribed to MgH_(2) particle refinement by NbC nanoparticles, and destabilization of the Mg-H bond caused by carbon substrate. This investigation not only proves that carbon-encapsulated NbC nanoparti-cles can greatly enhance the hydrogen storage performance of MgH_(2) but provides an idea of preparing carbon-based transition metal carbides as effective catalysts for magnesium-based hydrogen storage ma-terials.Yuxiao Jia Xuancheng Wang Leijie Hu Xuezhang Xiao Shuoqing Zhang Jiahuan He Jiacheng Qi Ling Lv Fen Xu Lixian Sun Lixin Chen 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,19:0
Robust architecture of 2D nano Mg-based borohydride on graphene with superior reversible hydrogen storage performance显示文摘Efficient technical strategies to synthesize hydrides with high capacity and favorable reversibility are significant for the development of novel energy materials.Herein, nano Mg-based borohydride,Mg(BH_(4))_(2),with robust architecture was designed and prepared by confining on graphene through a solution selfconfinement method. The Mg(BH_(4))_(2) confined on graphene displays a wrinkled 2D nano layer morphology within 8.8 nm thickness.Such 2D nano Mg(BH_(4))_(2) can start dehydrogenation at 67.9℃ with a high capacity of 12.0 wt.%,which is 190.5℃ lower than pristine Mg(BH_(4))_(2).The isothermal dehydrogenation tests and kinetics fitting results indicate the 2D nano Mg(BH_(4))_(2) possesses much-enhanced dehydrogenation kinetics of 31.3 kJ/mol activation energy, which is only half of pristine Mg(BH_(4))_(2).The thermodynamics of the 2D nano Mg(BH_(4))_(2) is also verified by PCT tests,of which Gibbs free energy value for the confined 2D nano Mg(BH_(4))_(2) is estimated to be-18.01 kJ/mol H_(2),lower than-16.36 kJ/mol H_(2) of pristine Mg(BH_(4))_(2).Importantly,the reversibility of the confined 2D nano Mg(BH_(4))_(2) is significantly enhanced to over 90%capacity retention with relatively kinetics stability during 10 cycles. The mechanism analyses manifest that Mg(BH_(4))_(2) exhibits stable 2D nano morphology during 10 cyclic tests, resulting in the greatly reduced H diffusion path and the improved de/rehydrogenation kinetics of the 2D nano Mg(BH_(4))_(2).Based on theoretical calculations of Mg(BH_(4))_(2) and the intermediate MgB12H12 confined on graphene, the charge transfer status of both samples is modified to facilitate de/rehydrogenation,thus leading to the significant thermodynamic improvements of the reversible hydrogen storage performances for 2D nano Mg(BH_(4))_(2).Such investigation of the Mg-based borohydride will illuminate prospective technical research of energy storage materials.Xuancheng Wang Yuxiao Jia Xuezhang Xiao Panpan Zhou Jiapeng Bi Jiacheng Qi Ling Lv Fen Xu Lixian Sun Lixin Chen 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,15:0
Expert consensus on prevention and cardiopulmonary resuscitation for cardiac arrest in COVID-19显示文摘Background:Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)strategies in COVID-19 patients differ from those in patients suffering from cardiogenic cardiac arrest.During CPR,both healthcare and non-healthcare workers who provide resuscitation are at risk of infection. The Working Group for Expert Consensus on Prevention and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Cardiac Arrest in COVID-19 has developed this Chinese Expert Consensus to guide clinical practice of CPR in COVID-19 patients.Main recommendations:1)A medical team should be assigned to evaluate severe and critical COVID-19 for early monitoring of cardiac-arrest warning signs.2)Psychological counseling and treatment are highly recommended, since sympathetic and vagal abnormalities induced by psychological stress from the COVID-19 pandemic can induce cardiac arrest.3)Healthcare workers should wear personal protective equipment(PPE).4)Mouth-to-mouth ventilation should be avoided on patients suspected of having or diagnosed with COVID-19.5)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression are recommended.6)Tracheal-intubation procedures should be optimized and tracheal-intubation strategies should be implemented early.7)CPR should be provided for 20-30 min.8)Various factors should be taken into consideration such as the interests of patients and family members, ethics, transmission risks, and laws and regulations governing infectious disease control.Changes in management:The following changes or modifications to CPR strategy in COVID-19 patients are proposed:1)Healthcare workers should wear PPE.2)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression can be implemented to reduce or avoid the spread of viruses by aerosols.3)Both the benefits to patients and the risk of infection should be considered.4)Hhealthcare workers should be fully aware of and trained in CPR strategies and procedures specifically for patients with COVID-19.Wei Song Jie Wei Xiangdong Jian Deren Wang Yanhong Ouyang Yuanshui Liu Xianjin Du Ying Chen Yingqi Zhang Heping Xu Shuming Xianyu Qiong Ning Xiang Li Xiaotong Han Feng Zhan Tao Yu Wenteng Chen Jun Zhang Wenwei Cai Sheng’ang Zhou Shengyang Yi Yu Cao Xiaobei Chen Shunjiang Xu Zong’an Liang Duohu Wu Fen Ai Zhong Wang Qingyi Meng Yuhong Mi Sisen Zhang Rongjia Yang Shouchun Yan Wenbin Han Yong Lin Chuanyun Qian Wenwu Zhang Yan Xiong Jun Lv Baochi Liu Yan Cao Xiaojun He Xuelian Sun Yufang Cao Tian’en Zhou 2021Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2021,14,6:0
High special surface area and“warm light”responsive ZnO:Synthesis mechanism, application and optimization显示文摘In this study,a new series of zinc oxide(ZnO)with high specific surface area and narrow energy band gap are prepared using a facile microwave-induced method. The corresponding formation mechanism is also discussed for the first time.Due to the introduction of C,these ZnO can be excited by long wave temperature light without harmful short wave radiation, and play an efficient photocatalytic activity. This valuable property fundamentally improves the biological safety of its photocatalytic application.Herein, taking teeth whitening as an example, the photocatalytic performance of ZnO is evaluated. The“pure”yellow light-emitting diode(PYLED)with high biological safety is used as the excitation source. It is found that this method could effectively remove pigment on the tooth surface through physical adsorption. In addition, these ZnO could generate active oxygen to degrade the pigment on the tooth surface under the irradiation of yellow light. Some further optimization of these“warm light”responsive ZnO is also discussed in this systematical study, which could open up new opportunities in biomedical field.Xinxin Miao Fen Yu Kuan Liu Zhongsheng Lv Jianjian Deng Tianlong Wu Xinyan Cheng Wei Zhang Xigao Cheng Xiaolei Wang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,1:0
