| 1 | Effects of Grazing Exclusion on Soil Carbon and Nitrogen Storage in Semi-arid Grassland in Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘The semi-arid grasslands in Inner Mongolia, China have been degraded by long-term grazing. A series of ecological restoration strategies have been implemented to improve grassland service. However, little is known about the effect of these ecological restoration practices on soil carbon and nitrogen storage. In this study, characteristics of vegetation and soil properties under continued grazing and exclusion of livestock for six years due to a nationwide conservation program—′Returning Grazing Lands to Grasslands(RGLG)′ were examined in semi-arid Hulun Buir grassland in Inner Mongolia, China. The results show that removal of grazing for six years resulted in a significant recovery in vegetation with higher above and below-ground biomass, but a lower soil bulk density and pH value. After six years of grazing exclusion, soil organic C and total N storage increased by 13.9% and 17.1%, respectively, which could be partly explained by decreased loss and increased input of C and N to soil. The effects of grazing exclusion on soil C and N concentration and storage primarily occurred in the upper soil depths. The results indicate that removal of grazing pressure within the RGLG program was an effective restoration approach to control grassland degradation in this region. | 2 | Monovalent cation perm-selective membranes(MCPMs)'New developments and perspectives显示文摘As one of the most typical and promising membrane processes, electrodialysis(ED) technique plays a more and more significant role in industrial separation. Especially, the separation of monovalent cations and multivalent cations is currently a hot topic, which is not only desirable for many industries but also challenging for academic explorations. The main aim of the present contribution is to view the advances of a wide variety of monovalent cation perm-selective membranes(MCPMs) and their preparation technologies including(1) covalent crosslinking,(2) surface modification,(3) polymer blending,(4) electrospinning,(5) nanofiltration alike membrane,and(6) organic–inorganic hybrid. The relevant advantages and disadvantages with respect to some specific cases have been discussed and compared in detail. | 5 | Characteristics of the phytoplankton community and bioaccumulation of heavy metals during algal blooms in Xiangjiang River (Hunan,China)显示文摘The frequency of algal blooms has increased in the mid and downstream reaches of the Xiangjiang River (Hunan,China),one of the most heavily polluted rivers in China.We identified the bloom-forming species in a bloom that occurred mid-late September 2010.In addition,we determined the extent of metal bioaccumulation in the algae and measured the toxicity of the algae using a mouse bioassay.Water samples were collected at upstream (Yongzhou),midstream (Hengyang),and downstream (Zhuzhou,Xiangtan,and Changsha) sites.The dominant species was Aulacoseira granulata,formerly known as Melosira granulata.The heaviest bloom occurred at Xiangtan and Changsha,where the number of A.granulata peaked at 1.3×10 5 filaments L 1 and chlorophyll a at 0.04 mg L 1.Concentrations of Al,Fe,and Mn were 4.4 10 3,768.4,and 138.7 mg kg 1 dry weight in the phytoplankton.The bioaccumulation factor was 4.0×10 5,7.7×10 5,and 3.2×10 3,respectively.The heavy metal Pb had the greatest tendency to bioaccumulate among the highly toxic heavy metals,with a concentration of 19.2 mg kg 1 dry weight and bioaccumulation factor of 9.6×10 3.The mouse bioassay suggested the bloom was toxic.The LD 50 was 384 mg kg 1 and all surviving mice lost weight during the first 72 h after exposure.Our results demonstrate that blooms of A.granulata in rivers contaminated with heavy metals pose a threat to freshwater ecosystems and human health.Thus,measures should be taken to control eutrophication and heavy metal pollution in such rivers. | LI Jie PENG FuLi DING DongBo ZHANG ShuBing LI DeLiang ZHANG Ting | 2011 | Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,10: | 6 |
| 6 | Enhancement of precursor amino acid supplies for improving bacitracin production by activation of branched chain amino acid transporter BrnQ and deletion of its regulator gene lrp in Bacillus licheniformis显示文摘Bacitracin,a new type of cyclic peptide antibiotic,is widely used as the feed additive in feed industry.Branched chain amino acids(BCAAs)are the key precursors for bacitracin synthesis.In this research,soybean meal was served as the raw material to supply precursor amino acids for bacitracin synthesis,and enhanced production of bacitracin was attempted by engineering BCAA transporter BrnQ and its regulator Lrp in the bacitracin industrial production strain Bacillus licheniformis DW2.Firstly,our results confirmed that Lrp negatively affected bacitracin synthesis in DW2,and deletion of lrp improved intracellular BCAA accumulations,as well as the expression level of BCAA transporter BrnQ,which further led to a 14.71%increase of bacitracin yield,compared with that of DW2.On the contrary,overexpression of Lrp decreased bacitracin yield by 12.28%.Secondly,it was suggested that BrnQ acted as a BCAA importer in DW2,and overexpression of BrnQ enhanced the intracellular BCAA accumulations and 10.43%of bacitracin yield.While,the bacitracin yield decreased by 18.27%in the brnQ deletion strain DW2△brnQ.Finally,BrnQ was further overexpressed in lrp deletion strain DW2△lrp,and bacitracin yield produced by the final strain DW2△lrp::BrnQ was 965.34 U/mL,increased by 22.42%compared with that of DW2(788.48 U/mL).Collectively,this research confirmed that Lrp affected bacitracin synthesis via regulating the expression of BCAA transporter BrnQ and BCAA distributions,and provided a promising strain for industrial production of bacitracin. | Jiang Zhu Dongbo Cai Haixia Xu Ziwei Liu Bowen Zhang Fei Wu Junhui Li Shouwen Chen | 2018 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2018,3,4: | 6 |
| 7 | Numerical simulation for erosion effects of three-phase flow containing sulfur particles on elbows in high sour gas fields显示文摘Sulfur particles carried by high-speed flow impact pipelines,which may cause equipment malfunctions and even failure.This paper investigates the scouring effect of mist gas containing sulfur particles on elbows in highly sour gas fields.The multiphase-flow hydrodynamic model of the 90elbow was established by using the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)method.The scouring effects of the gasliquid mist fluid with the water-liquid fraction of 20%and particles with the diameter of 0.01 e0.05mm on elbows were explored within the flow velocity range of 0e20 m/s.In addition,the influences of secondary collision,mean curvature radius to diameter(R/D)ratio,inertial force,drag force,and Stokes number on trajectories of sulfur particles were studied.Moreover,the influences of hydrodynamic parameters of multiphase flow on corrosion inhibitor film were analyzed with the wall shear stress as the reference value.Serious erosion mainly occurred in the extrados of elbow as well as the junction between downstream pipeline and the intrados of elbow,the maximum erosion area occurs at 61.9.When the incident position of the particle was far away from the top of the inlet plane,the probability of secondary collision became smaller.Furthermore,the erosion rate decreased with the rise in the R/D radio.The maximum erosion rate of elbow increased with the increase in the Stoke number.The maximum erosion rate reached 0.428 mm/a at 0.05mm particle diameter and 20 m/s fluid velocity.The wall shear stress increased with the increase in fluid velocity and mass flow rate of particle,the fitting function of the wall shear stress curve was the Fourier type.The results indicated that highvelocity particles had a serious erosion effect on elbows and affected the stability of the corrosion inhibitor film.The erosion effect could be retarded by controlling the velocity and diameter of particles.The results provided technical supports for the safe production in highly sour gas fields. | Enbo Zhang Dezhi Zeng Hongjun Zhu Shuanggui Li Dongbo Chen Jie Li Yanyan Ding Gang Tian | 2018 | Petroleum2018,4,2: | 5 |
| 8 | LRP6 downregulation promotes cardiomyocyte proliferation and heart regeneration显示文摘The adult mammalian heart is thought to be a terminally differentiated organ given the postmitotic nature of cardiomyocytes.Consequently,the potential for cardiac repair through cardiomyocyte proliferation is extremely limited.Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6(LRP6)is a Wnt co-receptor that is required for embryonic heart development.In this study we investigated the role of LRP6 in heart repair through regulation of cardiomyocyte proliferation.Lrp6 deficiency increased cardiomyocyte cell cycle activity in neonatal,juvenile and adult mice.Cardiomyocyte-specific deletion of Lrp6 in the mouse heart induced a robust regenerative response after myocardial infarction(MI),led to reduced MI area and improvement in left ventricular systolic function.In vivo genetic lineage tracing revealed that the newly formed cardiomyocytes in Lrp6-deficient mouse hearts after MI were mainly derived from resident cardiomyocytes.Furthermore,we found that the pro-proliferative effect of Lrp6 deficiency was mediated by the ING5/P21 signaling pathway.Gene therapy using the adeno-associated virus(AAV)9 miRNAi-Lrp6 construct promoted the repair of heart injury in mice.Lrp6 deficiency also induced the proliferation of human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes(iPSC-CMs).Our study identifies LRP6 as a critical regulator of cardiomyocyte proliferation,which may lead to the development of a novel molecular strategy to promote myocardial regeneration and repair. | Yahan Wu Liping Zhou Hongyu Liu Ran Duan Huixing Zhou Fulei Zhang Xiaoyu He Dongbo Lu Ke Xiong Maolin Xiong Jinzhu Zhuang Yi Liu Li Li Dandan Liang Yi-Han Chen | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,4: | 5 |

| 10 | Theory, technology and prospects of conventional and unconventional natural gas显示文摘The development of natural gas in China has entered a golden and leap-forward stage, which is a necessary bridge to clean energy. This in-depth study on the status quo, theory, technology and prospect of natural gas development shows:(1) The global remaining proven recoverable reserves of natural gas are 186×1012 m3, and the reserves-production ratio is 52.4, indicating a solid resource base for long-term and rapid development.(2) Ten formation and distribution laws of conventional and unconventional natural gas reservoirs have been proposed. In terms of exploration geology, the theory of conventional 'monolithic' giant gas fields with different gas sources, and an unconventional gas accumulation theory with continuous distribution of 'sweet areas' in different lithologic reservoirs have been established; in terms of development geology, a development theory of conventional structural gas reservoirs is oriented to 'controlling water intrusion', while a development theory of unconventional gas is concentrated on man-made gas reservoirs.(3) With the geological resources(excluding hydrates) of 210×1012 m3 and the total proven rate of the resources less than 2% at present, the natural gas in China will see a constant increase in reserve and production; by 2030, the proven geological reserves of natural gas are expected to reach about(6 000-7 000)×108 m3, the production of conventional and unconventional natural gas each will reach about 1 000×108 m3, and the gas consumption will reach 5 500×108 m3. | 13 | Denoising method of X-ray phase contrast DR image for TRISO-coated fuel particles显示文摘TRISO(tristructural-isotropic) fuel is a type of micro fuel particles used in high-temperature gas-cooled reactors(HTGRs).Among the quality evaluation methods for such particles,in-line phase contrast imaging technique(PCI) is more feasible for nondestructive measurement.Due to imaging hardware limitations,high noise level is a distinct feature of PCI images,and as a result,the dimensional measurement accuracy of TRISO-coated fuel particles decreases.Therefore,we propose an improved denoising hybrid model named as NL P-M model which introduces non-local theory and retains the merits of the Perona-Malik(P-M) model.The improved model is applied to numerical simulation and practical PCI images.Quantitative analysis proves that this new anisotropic diffusion model can preserve edge or texture information effectively,while ruling out noise and distinctly decreasing staircasing artifacts.Especially during the process of coating layer thickness measurement,the NL P-M model makes it easy to obtain continuous contours without noisy points or fake contour segments,thus enhancing the measurement accuracy.To address calculation complexity,a graphic processing unit(GPU) is adopted to realize the acceleration of the NL P-M denoising. | Min Yang Jianhai Zhang Fanyong Meng Sung-Jin Song Xingdong Li Wenli Liu Dongbo Wei | 2013 | Particuology2013,11,6: | 2 |
| 14 | Microstructure and Performance of 2Y-PSZ/TRIP Steel Composites显示文摘2Y-PSZ/TRIP steel composites have been sintered by hot-pressing method. Their microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated by means of SEM, TEM, XRD and static tension, split Hopkinson pressure bar method.The results showed that the strength and elastic modulus of 2Y-PSZ/TRIP steel composites at room temperature decreased with the increase of 2Y-PSZ content. The main reason was that the combining strength was quite weak between the grains of ZrO2. Distortion induced martensite transformation and plasticity during the dynamic loading increased the strength and distortion capability of the composites. The transformation was carried out mainly through twins formation. The shape of martensite induced by distortion was lamellate with substructures of twins. The habit plane was near {259}γ with no mid-ridge and no explosion phenomena. The interface was straight between the austenite and martensite induced by distortion. The increase of 2Y-PSZ content, on the one hand, made the composite dynamic flow stress improved. Thereby, the fracture strength was improved. On the other hand, it depressed both the distortion capability and the martensite transformation induced by distortion.
