| 1 | Identification of quantitative trait loci for four morphologic traits under water stress in rice (Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Late season drought coinciding with the rice booting to heading stage affects the development of plant height, panicle exsertion, and flag leaf size, and causes significant yield loss. In this study, a recombinant inbred line population derived from a cross between paddy and upland cultivars was used for data collection of the morphologic traits under well water and drought stress conditions. Drought stress was applied at the stage of panicle initiation in the field in 2002 and at the booting stage in PVC pipes in 2003. The data from stress conditions and their ratios (trait measured under stress condition/trait measured under well water condition) or differences (trait measured under stress condition minus trait measured under well water condition) were used for QTL analysis. Totally, 17 and 36 QTLs for these traits were identified in 2002 and 2003, respectively, which explained a range of 2.58%-29.82% of the phenotypic variation. Among them, six QTLs were commonly identified in the two years, suggesting that the drought stress in the two years was different. | 2 | The efficacy and safety of nimodipine in acute ischemic stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment: a double-blind, randomized,placebo-controlled trial显示文摘Nimodipine might be effective in subcortical vascular dementia(VaD). Its benefit in preventing further cognitive decline in patients with acute ischemic stroke(AIS) and vascular mild cognitive impairment(VaMCI) remains to be established. In this multicenter, double-blind trial, we randomly assigned 654 eligible patients to nimodipine 30 mg three times a day or placebo. The primary outcome was any cognitive decline defined by the changes on the Mini-Mental State Examination(DMMSE à3) or vascular AD assessment scale cognitive subscale(DADAS-cog ! 4) at 6 months. Secondary outcomes included any distribution shift of DADAS-cog, DMMSE or cognitive improvement defined by DADAS-cog à2, or DMMSE ! 0. The primary outcome in the nimodipine group and placebo group were similar for DMMSE à3(4.18% and 7.22%, respectively, P = 0.15) and DADAS-cog ! 4(8.36% and 8.93% respectively,P = 0.88). The distribution shift of DADAS-cog and DMMSE differed significantly between the two groups(P = 0.03 and P = 0.05 respectively). Cognitive improvement occurred in 55.4% in the nimodipine group and 43.6% in the placebo group measured by DADAS-cog à2(Odds Ratio, 1.54; 95% confidence interval[CI] 1.10–2.14, P < 0.01) or 84.0% and 74.6% respectively by DMMSE ! 0(Odds Ratio, 1.79; 95% CI 1.18–2.70, P < 0.01). Nimodipine was associated with better cognitive function in the memory domain. The adverse events rate was similar in two groups. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov,NCT01220622. | 3 | Speciation, sources, and risk assessment of heavy metals in suburban vegetable garden soil in Xianyang City, Northwest China显示文摘Intensive anthropogenic activities can lead tosoil heavy metal contamination resulting in potential risksto the environment and to human health. To reveal theconcentrations, speciation, sources, pollution level, andecological risk of heavy metals in vegetable garden soil, atotal of 136 soil samples were collected from threevegetable production fields in the suburbs of XianyangCity, Northwest China. These samples were analyzed byinductively coupled plasma- atomic emission spectrometryand atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The results showedthat the mean concentrations of Cd, Co, Cu, Mn, Pb, Zn,and Hg in vegetable garden soil were higher than thecorresponding soil element background values of ShaanxiProvince. The heavy metals studied in vegetable gardensoil were primarily found in the residual fraction,averaging from 31.26% (Pb)to 90.23% (Cr). Consideringthe non-residual fractions, the mobility or potential riskwas in the order of Pb (68.74%)〉 Co (60.54%)〉 Mn(59.28%)〉Cd (53.54%)〉〉Ni (23.36%)〉Zn(22.73%) 〉 Cu (14.93%) 〉 V (11.81%) 〉 Cr (9.78%). Cr,Mn, Ni, V, and As in the studied soil were related to soil-forming parent materials, while Cu, Hg, Zn, Cd, Co, andPb were associated with the application of plastic films,fertilizers, and pesticides, as well as traffic emissions andindustrial fumes. Cr, Ni, V, and As presented lowcontamination levels, whereas Co, Cu, Mn, Pb, and Znlevels were moderate, and Cd and Hg were high.Ecological risk was low for Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Pb, Zn, andAs, with high risk observed for Cd and Hg. | 9 | CsPb(I_(x)Br_(1-x))_(3) solar cells显示文摘Owing to its nice performance, low cost, and simple solution-processing, organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cell(PSC) becomes a promising candidate for next-generation high-efficiency solar cells.The power conversion efficiency(PCE) has boosted from 3.8% to 25.2% over the past ten years. Despite the rapid progress in PCE, the device stability is a key issue that impedes the commercialization of PSCs. Recently, all-inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites have attracted much attention due to their better stability compared with their organic-inorganic counterpart. In this progress report, we summarize the properties of CsPb(IxBr1-x)3 and their applications in solar cells. The current challenges and corresponding solutions are discussed. | 10 | Recruited CD68^(+)CD206^(+)macrophages orchestrate graft immune tolerance to prompt xenogeneic-dentin matrix-based tooth root regeneration显示文摘Successful regenerative medicine strategies of xenogeneic extracellular matrix need a synergistic balance among inflammation,fibrosis,and remodeling process.Adaptive macrophage subsets have been identified to modulate inflammation and orchestrate the repair of neighboring parenchymal tissues.This study fabricated PPARγ-primed CD68+CD206+M2 phenotype(M2γ),and firstly verified their anti-inflammatory and tissue-regenerating roles in xenogeneic bioengineered organ regeneration.Our results showed that Th1-type CD3^(+)CD8^(+)T cell response to xenogeneic-dentin matrix-based bioengineered root complex(xeno-complex)was significantly inhibited by M2γmacrophage in vitro.PPARγactivation also timely recruited CD68^(+)CD206^(+)tissue macrophage polarization to xeno-complex in vivo.These subsets alleviated proinflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IFN-γ)at the inflammation site and decreased CD3^(+)CD8^(+)T lymphocytes in the periphery system.When translated to an orthotopic nonhuman primate model,PPARγ-primed M2 macrophages immunosuppressed IL-1β,IL-6,TNF-α,MMPs to enable xeno-complex to effectively escape immune-mediated rejection and initiate graft-host synergistic integrity.These collective activities promoted the differentiation of odontoblast-like and periodontal-like cells to guide pulp-dentin and cementum-PDLs-bone regeneration and rescued partially injured odontogenesis such as DSPP and periostin expression.Finally,the regenerated root showed structure-biomechanical and functional equivalency to the native tooth.The timely conversion of M1-to-M2 macrophage mainly orchestrated odontogenesis,fibrogenesis,and osteogenesis,which represents a potential modulator for intact parenchymal-stromal tissue regeneration of targeted organs. | Hui Li Jingjing Sun Hefeng Yang Xue Han Xiangyou Luo LiJun Liao Bo Yang Tian Zhu Fangjun Huo Weihua Guo Weidong Tian | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,4: | 2 |

| 13 | Effect of naloxone on level of plasma beta-endorphin in neonates with severe asphyxia显示文摘BACKGROUND: β-endorphin is the most actively endogenous substance of cerebral endorphin. When combined with opiate receptor specially,it manifests a strong morphine-like activity and can decrease sensitivity of central nervous system to carbon dioxide so as to inhibit breath. OBJECTIVE: To observe the changes of content of plasma β-endorphin in neonates with severe asphyxia after naloxone treatment in a large dosage. DESIGN: Randomized controlled observation. SETTINGS: Department of Pediatrics,Shenzhen Shajing People's Hospital; Center of Pediatrics,Guangzhou Zhujiang Hospital. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 97 neonates with severe asphyxia including 57 boys and 40 girls were selected from Neonatal Intensive Care Unit,Department of Pediatrics,Shenzhen Shajing People's Hospital from January 2004 to November 2005. Their gestational age was (38±3) weeks,body mass was (3.2±1.7) kg,and hospitalization duration was (2.8±2.3) hours. All neonates met the diagnostic criteria of with severe asphyxia and all their parents provided the confirmed consent. METHODS: All neonates were treated with inspired oxygen,sedation,stopping terror,decreasing cranial pressure,maintaining a well blood perfusion and normal level of blood glucose (about 5.0 mmol/L). After hospitalization,0.1 mg/(kg·d) naloxone hydrochloride (Beijing Sihuan Pharmaceutical Technology Co.,Ltd.; certification: H10900021; bullet preparation; 0.4 mg/ampoule) was intravenously dribbled into neonates for 4–6 hours,14 days in total. 2 mL blood was collected from radial artery in neonates at the beginning of hospitalization and at 3 days after naloxone treatment,put in aprotinin-pre-cool tube,mixed evenly,and centrifuged at hypothermia. Plasma was maintained in refrigerator at –70 ℃. The kit was provided by Neurobiology Department of Shanghai Second Military Medical University of Chinese PLA. Concentration of plasma β-endorphin was measured by using radio-immunity assay.All data were expressed as Mean± SD and results were compared with paired t test. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE: Concentration of plasma β-endorphin. RESULTS: All 97 neonates were involved in the final analysis. Concentration of plasma β-endorphin in neonates with severe asphyxia was lower after treatment as compared with that before treatment,and there was significant difference (t =10.31,P < 0.01). | 16 | Order Timing for Manufacturers with Spot Purchasing Price Uncertainty and Demand Information Updating显示文摘In this paper we study the competitive order timing decisions of two manufacturers with demand forecasting updating and uncertain raw material price.Manufacturers can order the raw materials early when the market is highly uncertain with a fixed wholesale price(Contract procurement)or late when the market is less uncertain with an uncertain raw material price(Spot trading).Different from most existing literature,we assume the spot price and the market demand is correlated.We find that in the monopoly setting the manufacturer prefers the contract procurement to the spot trading when the unit wholesale price for the contract procurement is not greater than the expected unit spot price of the raw material.In the duopoly setting,we characterize the equilibria of a strategic order timing game in which manufacturers choose when to buy the raw materials.We find that when the demand during the contract procurement stage and the spot price uncertainty is small both manufacturers prefer the contract procurement strategy and when the demand during the contract procurement stage and the spot price uncertainty is large both manufacturers prefer the spot trading.When the demand during the contract procurement stage and the spot price uncertainty is high and purchase costs do not decline too severely over time,the unique equilibrium of this game is that one manufacturer chooses contract procurement to order early and the other chooses spot trading to order late.Further,we find that the correlation of spot purchasing price and the market demand signal during the contract procurement stage will weaken the advantages of spot trading strategy.When the spot purchasing price and the market demand signal during the contract procurement stage are not correlated,manufacturers prefer spot trading under the highly volatile spot trading price,fluctuating demand,and high information precision. | Mengchu Wu Lijun Ma Weili Xue | 2020 | Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2020,29,6: | 1 |

X-ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL), Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to analyze the structure, morphology, and optical property of the ZnO thin films. An optimal crystallized ZnO thin film was obtained at the substrate temperature of 600°C. A blue shift was found in PL spectra due to size confinement effect as the grain sizes decreased.
