1Southwest monsoon changes indicated by oxygen isotope of ostracode shells from sediments in Qinghai Lake since the late Glacial显示文摘The δ 18O records of ostracode shells in sediments of core QH-2000 from Qinghai Lake can be used as a better proxy to reflect monsoon changes. Low monsoon precipitation between 17.5 and 11 cal. ka BP is indicated by positive δ 18O values averaging 2.37‰. A fast shift in δ 18O from positive at 11 cal. ka BP to negative at 10 cal. ka BP indicates sharp increase of monsoon precipitation. An interval of generally high monsoon precipitation is observed between 10 and 6 cal. ka BP with δ 18O values averaging -2.15‰. Decrease of monsoon precipitation between 6 and 2.5 cal. ka BP is indicated by positive δ 18O values. δ 18O keeps positive values averaging 3.0‰ between 2.5 and 0 cal. ka BP suggesting low high monsoon precipitation. 3A carbon-oxygen-bridged ladder-type building block for efficient donor and acceptor materials used in organic solar cells显示文摘A carbon-oxygen-bridged ladder-type donor unit(CO5) was invented and prepared via an ‘‘intramolecular demethanolization cyclization' approach. Its single crystal structure indicates enhanced planarity compared with the carbon-bridged analogue indacenodithiophene(IDT). Owing to the stronger electron-donating capability of CO5 than IDT, CO5-based donor and acceptor materials show narrower bandgaps. A donor-acceptor(D-A) copolymer donor(PCO5TPD) and an A-D-A nonfullerene acceptor(CO5IC) demonstrated higher performance than IDT-based counterparts, PIDTTPD and IDTIC, respectively. 7Blunted nitric oxide regulation in Tibetans under high-altitude hypoxia显示文摘Nitric oxide(NO) is an important molecule for vasomotor tone, and elevated NO signaling was previously hypothesized as a unique and adaptive physiological change in highland Tibetans. However, there has been lack of NO data from Tibetans living at low altitude and lowlander immigrants living at high altitude, which is crucial to test this hypothesis. Here, through cross-altitude(1990–5018 m) and cross-population(Tibetans and Han Chinese) analyses of serum NO metabolites(NOx) of 2086 individuals, we demonstrate that although Tibetans have a higher serum NOx level compared to lowlanders, Han Chinese immigrants living at high altitude show an even higher level than Tibetans. Consequently, our data contradict the previous proposal of increased NO signaling as the unique adaptive strategy in Tibetans.Instead, Tibetans have a relatively lower circulating NOx level at high altitude. This observation is further supported by data from the hypoxic experiments using human umbilical vein endothelial cells and gene knockout mice. No difference is detected between Tibetans and Han Chinese for endothelial nitric oxide synthase(e NOS), the key enzyme for circulating NO synthesis, suggesting that e NOS itself is unlikely to be the cause. We show that other NO synthesis-related genes(e.g. GCH1) carry Tibetan-enriched mutations significantly associated with the level of circulating NOx in Tibetans. 8Validity and reliability of Chinese version of Fatigue Impact Scale in cerebral infarction patients显示文摘BACKGROUND: Post-stroke fatigue has received much attention recently. Three evaluation scales are available,including the Fatigue Impact Scale (FIS). Yet none of these has been proven to be of use in the evaluation of psychological quality after post-stroke fatigue. OBJECTIVE: To introduce FIS into China,and to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Chinese Version in patients with cerebral infarction. DESIGN: Scale evaluation. SETTING: Department of Rehabilitation,Beijing Friendship Hospital,Capital Medical University. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 330 patients with cerebral infarction were selected from the Department of Neurology,Beijing Friendship Hospital,Capital Medical University from June 2005 to December 2006. All patients met diagnostic standards from the Fourth National Cerebrovascular Disease Academic Meeting of China Medical Association and were diagnosed with CT or MRI examination. Patients who were not willing to accept scale evaluation were excluded. METHODS: The English version of FIS was translated into Chinese and subsequently translated back to English again. FIS was given to the discharged patients,and they returned them upon completion. In-patients completed and immediately returned the FIS. Validity and reliability of the retrieved scales were ascertained with descriptive and inference analysis. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Total scores and subscale scores of FIS. RESULTS: Out of 330 questionnaires,214 valid questionnaires were deemed valid in total. Six components were extracted in factor analysis,and the total cumulative contribution was 73.919%,which suggested the questionnaire was valid. After correlation analysis,6 components were divided into 3 subscales,including cognitive,physical,and social,which was the same as the English version. The Cronbach α value for the three subscales was 0.937 7,0.918 8,and 0.940 6,respectively (> 0.7). 10De novo assembly of a Tibetan genome and identification of novel structural variants associated with high-altitude adaptation显示文摘Structural variants(SVs) may play important roles in human adaptation to extreme environments such as high altitude but have been under-investigated. Here, combining long-read sequencing with multiple scaffolding techniques, we assembled a high-quality Tibetan genome(ZF1), with a contig N50 length of 24.57 mega-base pairs(Mb) and a scaffold N50 length of 58.80 Mb. The ZF1 assembly filled 80 remaining N-gaps(0.25 Mb in total length) in the reference human genome(GRCh38). Markedly, we detected17 900 SVs, among which the ZF1-specific SVs are enriched in GTPase activity that is required for activation of the hypoxic pathway. Further population analysis uncovered a 163-bp intronic deletion in the MKL1 gene showing large divergence between highland Tibetans and lowland Han Chinese. This deletion is significantly associated with lower systolic pulmonary arterial pressure, one of the key adaptive physiological traits in Tibetans. Moreover, with the use of the high-quality de novo assembly, we observed a much higher rate of genome-wide archaic hominid(Altai Neanderthal and Denisovan) shared non-reference sequences in ZF1(1.32%–1.53%) compared to other East Asian genomes(0.70%–0.98%),reflecting a unique genomic composition of Tibetans. One such archaic hominid shared sequence-a662-bp intronic insertion in the SCUBE2 gene-is enriched and associated with better lung function(the FEV1/FVC ratio) in Tibetans. 11Review of local mean decomposition and its application in fault diagnosis of rotating machinery显示文摘Rotating machinery is widely used in the industry.They are vulnerable to many kinds of damages especially for those working under tough and time-varying operation conditions.Early detection of these damages is important,otherwise,they may lead to large economic loss even a catastrophe.Many signal processing methods have been developed for fault diagnosis of the rotating machinery.Local mean decomposition(LMD)is an adaptive mode decomposition method that can decompose a complicated signal into a series of mono-components,namely product functions(PFs).In recent years,many researchers have adopted LMD in fault detection and diagnosis of rotating machines.We give a comprehensive review of LMD in fault detection and diagnosis of rotating machines.First,the LMD is described.The advantages,disadvantages and some improved LMD methods are presented.Then,a comprehensive review on applications of LMD in fault diagnosis of the rotating machinery is given.The review is divided into four parts:fault diagnosis of gears,fault diagnosis of rotors,fault diagnosis of bearings,and other LMD applications.In each of these four parts,a review is given to applications applying the LMD,improved LMD,and LMD-based combination methods,respectively.We give a summary of this review and some future potential topics at the end.LI Yongbo SI Shubin LIU Zhiliang LIANG Xihui 2019Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2019,30,4:4
12Vascular protection and regenerative effects of intranasal DL-3-N butylphthalide treatment after ischaemic stroke in mice显示文摘Objective To investigate the effects of DL-3-N butylphthalide(NBP)via intranasal delivery after ischaemic stroke in mice.Methods C57BL/6 mice were divided into three groups:sham,stroke with vehicle and stroke with NBP treatment.Ischaemic stroke was induced by permanent ligation of right middle cerebral artery with 7 min common carotid artery occlusion.NBP(100 mg/kg)or vehicle was intranasally administered at 1 hour after stroke and repeated once a day until sacrifice.Bromodeoxyuridine(BrdU)(50 mg/kg/day)was given from the third day until sacrifice.Sensorimotor function was tested during 1-21 days after stroke.Local cerebral blood flow in the ischaemic and peri-infarct regions was measured using laser Doppler flowmetry before,during and 3 days after ischaemia.Expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and endothelial nitric oxide synthase as well as regenerative marker BrdU in the peri-infarct region were analysed by western blotting and immunohistochemical methods.Results Compared with the vehicle group,NBP treatment significantly increased the VEGF expression in the poststroke brain.Stroke mice that received NBP showed significantly less vascular damage after stroke and more new neurons and blood vessels in the peri-infarct region at 21 days after stroke.In the adhesive removal test,the sensorimotor function of stroke mice treated with NBP performed significantly better at 1,3 and 7 days after stroke compared with vehicle controls.Conclusion Daily intranasal NBP treatment provides protective and neurogenic/angiogenic effects in the poststroke brain,accompanied with functional improvements after a focal ischaemic stroke in mice.Mengyao Qu Jingjie Zhao Yingying Zhao Jinmei Sun Liping Liu Ling Wei Yongbo Zhang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1:4
13Correlation between TERT C228T and clinic-pathological features in pediatric papillary thyroid carcinoma显示文摘The aims of the present study were to reveal the prevalence of the TERT C228 T mutation in pediatric papillary thyroid carcinoma(PPTC) and to further investigate the role of the TERT C228 T mutation in PPTC. We also tested another TERT mutation, TERT C250 T, although this was not detected in PPTC patients. In this study, 48 patients with PPTC(41 with classic PPTC) were enrolled. DNA was extracted from PPTC tissues and TERT C228 T mutation analysis was performed. Chi-squared analysis,Fisher’s exact test, and a t-test were applied to test the significance of differences. The TERT C228 T mutation presented in 13(27.1%) of the 48 PPTC patients and 10(24.4%) of the 41 classical PPTC patients. There were significant differences between PPTC patients with the TERT C228 T mutation and those without in terms of modified radical neck dissection, multifocality,capsular invasion, extrathyroidal invasion, and American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC) tumor stage(P<0.05). 14Early Cretaceous Climate Changes Recorded in Magnetic Susceptibility and Color Index Variations of the Lower Liupanshan Group, Central China显示文摘This study carried out comprehensive analysis on sedimentology, magnetic susceptibility(χlf) and color data of the continental sediments of the Liupanshan Group in Central China so as to obtain climatic change information during the 129.14–122.98 Ma interval. Based on the results of the ?lf and of the redness(a*), the section can be divided into two segments:(1) 129.14–126.3 Ma, with the lowest ?lf values and strongly variable relatively high values of redness and(2) 126.3–122.98 Ma, with high ?lf values and relatively low redness. Analysis of the lithology and facies as well as the magnetic minerals and their contents points to a detrital origin of the magnetic minerals and this allow us to interpret the relationship between magnetic susceptibility variations and climate changes. 15CsPb(I_(x)Br_(1-x))_(3) solar cells显示文摘Owing to its nice performance, low cost, and simple solution-processing, organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cell(PSC) becomes a promising candidate for next-generation high-efficiency solar cells.The power conversion efficiency(PCE) has boosted from 3.8% to 25.2% over the past ten years. Despite the rapid progress in PCE, the device stability is a key issue that impedes the commercialization of PSCs. Recently, all-inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites have attracted much attention due to their better stability compared with their organic-inorganic counterpart. In this progress report, we summarize the properties of CsPb(IxBr1-x)3 and their applications in solar cells. The current challenges and corresponding solutions are discussed. 16Optimization of Technology for Increasing Total Ester Content of Jujube Wine by Adding Nutrients显示文摘Using jujube juice prepared from red jujube as raw material and Saccharomyces cerevisiae as experimental strain,the effect of nutrients on the content of total ester in jujube wine was studied. The nutrients affecting the total ester content of jujube wine were glutamine,arginine,calcium chloride and biotin by Plackett-Burman design. Through the steepest ascent test,it was determined that the central points of the optimum addition of nutrients were glutamine 40 mg/L,arginine 50 mg/L,calcium chloride 35 mg/L and biotin 0. 25 mg/L,respectively.Through Box-Behnken experiment design,taking glutamine,arginine,calcium chloride and biotin as experimental factors,and the content of total ester in jujube wine as response value,the response surface optimization experiment was carried out and the verification experiment was also carried out. It was found that the response surface model can be used to predict the total ester content of jujube wine when nutritional elements were added. When the content of total ester in jujube wine was the highest,the optimal combination of nutrients was glutamine38. 8 mg/L,arginine 53. 8 mg/L,calcium chloride 35. 7 mg/L and biotin 0. 3 mg/L. At this point,the content of total ester in jujube wine was 628 mg/L,which was very close to the predicted value. 17A Great late Ediacaran ice age显示文摘The emergence of the Ediacara biota soon after the Gaskiers glaciation ca.580 million years ago(Ma)implies a possible glacial fuse for the evolution of animals.However,the timing of Ediacaran glaciation remains controversial because of poor age constraints on the∼30 Ediacaran glacial deposits known worldwide.In addition,paleomagnetic constraints and a lack of convincing Snowball-like cap carbonates indicate that Ediacaran glaciations likely did not occur at low latitudes.Thus,reconciling the global occurrences without global glaciation remains a paradox.Here,we report that the large amplitude,globally synchronous ca.571–562 Ma Shuram carbon isotope excursion occurs below the Ediacaran Hankalchough glacial deposit in Tarim,confirming a post-Shuram glaciation.Leveraging paleomagnetic evidence for a∼90°reorientation of all continents due to true polar wander,and a non-Snowball condition that rules out low-latitude glaciations,we use paleogeographic reconstructions to further constrain glacial ages.Our results depict a‘Great Ediacaran Glaciation’occurring diachronously but continuously from ca.580–560 Ma as different continents migrated through polar–temperate latitudes.The succession of radiation,turnover and extinction of the Ediacara biota strongly reflects glacial–deglacial dynamics.Ruimin Wang Bing Shen Xianguo Lang Bin Wen Ross N.Mitchell Haoran Ma Zongjun Yin Yongbo Peng Yonggang Liu Chuanming Zhou 2023National Science Review2023,10,8:2
18Cracking the superheavy pyrite enigma:possible roles of volatile organosulfur compound emission显示文摘The global deposition of superheavy pyrite(pyrite isotopically heavier than coeval seawater sulfate in the Neoproterozoic Era and particularly in the Cryogenian Period)defies explanation using the canonical marine sulfur cycle system.Here we report petrographic and sulfur isotopic data(δ^(34)Spy)of superheavy pyrite from the Cryogenian Datangpo Formation(660–650 Ma)in South China.Our data indicate a syndepositional/early diagenetic origin of the Datangpo superheavy pyrite,with ^(34)S-enriched H_(2)S supplied from sulfidic(H_(2)S rich)seawater.Instructed by a novel sulfur-cycling model,we propose that the emission of ^(34)S-depleted volatile organosulfur compounds(VOSC)that were generated via sulfide methylation may have contributed to the formation of ^(34)S-enriched sulfidic seawater and superheavy pyrite.The global emission of VOSC may be attributed to enhanced organic matter production after the Sturtian glaciation in the context of widespread sulfidic conditions.These findings demonstrate that VOSC cycling is an important component of the sulfur cycle in Proterozoic oceans.Xianguo Lang Zhouqiao Zhao Haoran Ma Kangjun Huang Songzhuo Li Chuanming Zhou Shuhai Xiao Yongbo Peng Yonggang Liu Wenbo Tang Bing Shen 2021National Science Review2021,8,10:2

20Scale-dependent effects of habitat fragmentation on the genetic diversity of Actinidia chinensis populations in China显示文摘Spatial scale partly explains the differentiated effects of habitat fragmentation on plant biodiversity,but the mechanisms remain unclear.To investigate the effects of habitat fragmentation on genetic diversity at different scales,we sampled Actinidia chinensis Planch.at broad and fine scales,China.The broad-scale sampling included five mountain populations and one oceanic island population(Zhoushan Archipelago),and the fine-scale sampling covered 11 lake islands and three neighboring land populations in Thousand-Island Lake(TIL).These populations were genotyped at 30 microsatellite loci,and genetic diversity,gene flow,and genetic differentiation were evaluated.Genetic differentiation was positively related to geographical distance at the broad scale,indicating an isolation-bydistance effect of habitat fragmentation on genetic diversity.The oceanic population differed from the mainland populations and experienced recent bottleneck events,but it showed high gene flow with low genetic differentiation from a mountain population connected by the Yangtze River.At the fine scale,no negative genetic effects of habitat fragmentation were found because seed dispersal with water facilitates gene flow between islands.The population size of A.chinensis was positively correlated with the area of TIL islands,supporting island biogeography theory,but no correlation was found between genetic diversity and island area.Our results highlight the scale-dependent effects of habitat fragmentation on genetic diversity and the importance of connectivity between island-like isolated habitats at both the broad and fine scales.Wenhao Yu Baofeng Wu Xinyu Wang Zhi Yao Yonghua Li Yongbo Liu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:1
