1Celastrus orbiculatus extract induces mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the apoptotic effects and underlying molecular mechanisms of Celastrus orbiculatus(C.orbiculatus) extract in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells.METHODS:Human hepatocellular carcinoma cells(HCCLM6) were treated with C.orbiculatus extract(COE) at different nontoxic concentrations(10,20,40,80,and 160 μg/mL).The effect of COE on HC-CLM6 viability was examined using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide(MTT) assays.Cellular apoptosis following COE treatment was assessed by flow cytometry and western blot analysis.RESULTS:COE significantly inhibited cell viability and induced apoptosis of HCCLM6 cells in a dose-dependent manner.Apoptosis was accompanied by increased Bax expression and decreased Bcl-2 expression.In addition,COE treatment led to the release of cytochrome c,activation of caspase-3,and cleavage of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP).Furthermore,activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK),p38 kinase,and c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK) phosphorylation,and down-regulation of Akt phosphorylation was observed.CONCLUSION:COE induces mitochondrial-mediated,caspase-dependent apoptosis in HCCLM6 cells,which might be attributed to the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) and inhibition of Akt signaling pathways.These data suggest that COE may be a potential treatment for human hepatocellular carcinoma.Hua Zhang Yayun Qian Yanqing Liu Guoqing Li Pingfang Cui Yaodong Zhu Hui Ma Xue Ji Shiyu Guo Hisamits Tadashi 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:18
2Anti-wear and friction performance of ZrO_2 nanoparticles as lubricant additive显示文摘The surface of ZrO2 nanoparticles was modified with silane coupling agent KH-560 by dispersing the nanoparticles in 20#machine oil.The tribological performance of the 20#machine oil with ZrO2 nanoparticles was evaluated by a four-ball tester and a thrust-ring machine.The loss of the thrust-ring weight was measured by an electronic balance with a precision of 0.0001 g.The worn surface was examined under a metallographic microscope with 400-times magnification.The results showed that the average friction coefficient decreased by 27.34%,and that the weight loss of the thrust-ring indicated no wear or negative wear,the wear loss after six loads tests being-0.0163 g.The anti-wear(AW)and reducing friction(RF)abilities of the oil with ZrO2 nanoparticles addition were considerably improved,maximizing at an additive concentration of 0.5wt%.Shiyu Ma Shaohua Zheng Duxia Cao Hongna Guo 2010Particuology2010,8,5:11
3Essential roles of exosome and circRNA_101093 on ferroptosis desensitization in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background:Resistance to ferroptosis,a regulated cell death caused by irondependent excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides,has recently been linked to lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD).Intracellular antioxidant systems are required for protection against ferroptosis.The purpose of the present studywas to investigate whether and how extracellular system desensitizes LUAD cells to ferroptosis.Methods:Established human lung fibroblasts MRC-5,WI38,and human LUAD H1650,PC9,H1975,H358,A549,and H1299 cell lines,tumor and matched normal adjacent tissues of LUAD,and plasma from healthy individuals and LUAD patients were used in this study.Immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting were used to analyze protein expression,and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR was used to analyze mRNA expression.Cell viability,cell death,and the lipid reactive oxygen species generationwere measured to evaluate the responses to ferroptosis.Exosomes were observed using transmission electron microscope.The localization of arachidonic acid(AA)was detected using click chemistry labeling followed by confocal microscopy.Interactions between RNAs and proteins were detected using RNA pull-down,RNA immunoprecipitation and photoactivatable ribonucleoside-enhanced crosslinking and immunoprecipitation methods.Proteomic analysis was used to investigate RNA-regulated proteins,and metabolomic analysis was performed to analyze metabolites.Cellderived xenograft,patient-derived xenograft,cell-implanted intrapulmonary LUAD mouse models and plasma/tissue specimens from LUAD patients were used to validate the molecular mechanism.Results:Plasma exosome from LUAD patients specifically reduced lipid peroxidation and desensitized LUAD cells to ferroptosis.A potential explanation is that exosomal circRNA_101093(cir93)maintained an elevation in intracellular cir93 in LUAD to modulate AA,a poly-unsaturated fatty acid critical for ferroptosisassociated increased peroxidation in the plasma membrane.Mechanistically,cir93 interacted with and increased fatty acid-binding protein 3(FABP3),which transported AA and facilitated its reaction with taurine.Thus,global AA was reduced,whereas N-arachidonoyl taurine(NAT,the product of AA and taurine)was induced.Notably,the role of NAT in suppressing AA incorporation into the plasma membrane was also revealed.In pre-clinical in vivo models,reducing exosome improved ferroptosis-based treatment.Conclusion:Exosome and cir93 are essential for desensitizing LUAD cells to ferroptosis,and blocking exosome may be helpful for future LUAD treatment.Xiao Zhang Yunhua Xu Lifang Ma Keke Yu Yongjie Niu Xin Xu Yi Shi Susu Guo Xiangfei Xue Yikun Wang Shiyu Qiu Jiangtao Cui Hong Wang Xiaoting Tian Yayou Miao Fanyu Meng Yongxia Qiao Yongchun Yu Jiayi Wang 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,4:10

6Pre-oxidation enhanced cyanobacteria removal in drinking water treatment: A review显示文摘Cyanobacterial bloom has many adverse effects on source water quality and drinking water production. The traditional water treatment process can hardly achieve satisfactory removal of algae cells. This review examines the impact of pre-oxidation on the removal of cyanobacteria by solid-liquid separation processes. It was reported that the introduction of chemical oxidants such as chlorine, potassium permanganate, and ozone in algae-laden water pretreatment could improve algae removal by the subsequent solid-liquid separation processes. However, over dosed oxidants can result in more serious water quality risks due to significant algae cell lysis and undesirable intracellular organic matter release. It was suggested that moderate pre-oxidation may enhance the removal of cyanobacteria without damaging algae cells. 8Preparation of Photo-thermal Cellulose Nanocrystal-based Hydrogel显示文摘Cellulose nanocrystal(CNC)prepared by hydrolysis of cotton linters with sulfuric acid was used to react with chloroauric acid to manufacture a gold nanoparticle/CNC composite.The composite was then graft-copolymerized with N-isopropylacrylamide to obtain a photo-thermal ultrafine gold nanoparticles/CNC-based hydrogel.The hydrogel was studied by performing scanning electron microscopy,and it was found that the prepared hydrogel had a network structure.The temperature of the hydrogel increased from 25℃to 39℃and its volume decreased by 30%when it was exposed to visible light(400~750 nm)for 1 h.The experiment results indicated that the prepared photo-thermal CNC-based hydrogel has thermal responsiveness and photo-thermal properties.ZiHe Guo Tao Ma ShiYu Fu 2019Paper And Biomaterials2019,4,2:3
9Reliable and Efficient Agrobacterium tumefaciens-Mediated Genetic Transformation of Dianthus spiculifolius显示文摘Dianthus spiculifolius is a perennial herbaceous flower with strong environmental adaptability and is an important ornamental ground cover plant.In this study,seeds of D.spiculifolius were used as explants for callus induction,adventitious bud differentiation,and rooting by adding different concentrations of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid(2,4-D),6-benzyl aminopurine(6-BA),and naphthaleneacetic acid(NAA)to Murashige and Skoog medium.The calli generated were co-cultured with Agrobacterium tumefaciens EHA105 containing pBI121-GUS or pBI121-GFP plasmids for 30 min,and transgenic regenerated plants were obtained by kanamycin(30mg·L^−1)screening.RT-PCR confirmed the stable expression of the exogenous GUS and GFP genes in the D.spiculifolius.Theβ-glucuronidase(GUS)histochemical staining confirmed GUS gene expression in transgenic calli,adventitious buds,and regenerated plants of D.spiculifolius.The green fluorescent protein(GFP)visual analysis showed GFP gene expression in transgenic calli.Furthermore,subcellular localization analysis showed that the three organelle marker proteins were not only successfully expressed but also accurately localized to their corresponding organelles in D.spiculifolius callus cells.These results indicated a successful establishment of a reliable and efficient A.tumefaciens-mediated genetic transformation system,which will contribute to functional gene research and genetic improvement of D.spiculifolius.Jingang Wang Shiyue Liu Hongping Ma Ye Tao Shuang Feng Shufang Gong Jinzhu Zhang Aimin Zhou 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,3:2

11Performance Assessment of Nanocellulose Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose Composite on Role of Nano-CaCO_(3) for the Preservation of Paper Documents显示文摘Deacidification and self-cleaning are important for the preservation of paper documents.In this study,nano-CaCO_(3) was used as a deacidification agent and stabilized by nanocellulose(CNC)and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose(HPMC)to form a uniform dispersion.Followed by polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)treatment and chemical vapor deposition(CVD)of methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS),a hydrophobic coating was constructed for self-cleaning purposes.The pH value of the treated paper was approximately 8.20,and the static contact angle was as high as 152.29°.Compared to the untreated paper,the tensile strength of the treated paper increased by 12.6%.This treatment method endows the paper with a good deacidification effect and self-cleaning property,which are beneficial for its long-term preservation.Xiaochun Ma Altaf Halim Xiaohong Li Huiming Fan Shiyu Fu 2022Paper And Biomaterials2022,7,2:2
12Tuning the nucleation and decomposition of Li2O_(2) by fluorine-doped carbon vesicles towards high performance Li-O_(2) batteries显示文摘Li-O_(2) batteries provide an attractive and potential strategy for energy conversion and storage with high specific energy densities.However,large over-potential in oxygen evolution reactions (OER) caused by the decomposition obstacles of Li_(2)O_(2) seriously impedes its electrochemical performances.Herein,a novel N,O,S and F co-doping vesicular carbon was prepared by self-template pyrolysis method and used in LiO_(2) battery to tune the nucleation and decomposition of Li_(2)O_(2).The introduction of F in the carbon matrix with suitable content can regulate the adsorption of intermediates,through which the morphology of Li_(2)O_(2) can be controlled to film,favorable to its decomposition in charge process.The cathode based on the optimized F doped carbon vesicle exhibits improved electrochemical performances including a low over-potential,large capacity and a long-term stability.Density functional theory (DFT) results show that F and C in C–F bond hasve a strong interaction to Li and O in Li_(2)O_(2),respectively,which can enhance the transfer of electrons from Li_(2)O_(2) to the carbon matrix to generate hole polaron and thus accelerate the delithiation and decomposition of Li_(2)O_(2).This work provides a new sight into understanding the mechanism of nucleation and decomposition of Li_(2)O_(2) for the development of high-performance Li-O_(2) batteries.Shiyu Ma Hongchang Yao Zhongjun Li Qingchao Liu 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,7:2
13Formation mechanisms,potentials and exploration practices of large lithologic gas reservoirs in and around an intracratonic rift:Taking the Sinian-Cambrian of Sichuan Basin as an example显示文摘By examining structures,sediments,reservoirs and accumulation assemblages in the Deyang-Anyue rift and its surrounding area,four new understandings are obtained.First,during the initiation period of Deyang-Anyue rift,multiple groups of faults developed in the rift due to the effect of tensile force,bringing about multiple mound and shoal belts controlled by horsts in the second member of the Sinian Dengying Formation;in the development stage of the rift,the boundary faults of the rift controlled the development of mound and shoal belts at the platform margin in the fourth member of Dengying Formation;during the shrinkage period of the rift,platform margin grain shoals of the Cambrian Canglangpu Formation developed in the rift margin.Second,four sets of large-scale mound and shoal reservoirs in the second member of Dengying Formation,the fourth member of Dengying Formation,Canglangpu Formation and Longwangmiao Formation overlap with several sets of source rocks such as Qiongzhusi Formation source rocks and Dengying Formation argillaceous limestone or dolomite developed inside and outside the rift,forming good source-reservoir-cap rock combinations;the sealing of tight rock layers in the lateral and updip direction results in the formation model of large lithologic gas reservoirs of oil pool before gas,continuous charging and independent preservation of each gas reservoir.Third,six favorable exploration zones of large-scale lithologic gas reservoirs have been sorted out through comprehensive evaluation,namely,mound and shoal complex controlled by horsts in the northern part of the rift in the second member of Dengying Formation,isolated karst mound and shoal complex of the fourth member of Dengying Formation in the south of the rift,the superimposed area of multi-stage platform margin mounds and shoals of the second and fourth members of Dengying Formation and Canglangpu Formation in the north slope area,the platform margin mounds and shoals of the second and fourth members of Dengying Formation in the west side of the rift,the platform margin mound and shoal bodies of the fourth member of Dengying Formation in the south slope area,etc.Fourth,Well Pengtan-1 drilled on the mound and shoal complex controlled by horsts of the second member of Dengying Formation in the rift and Well Jiaotan-1 drilled on the platform margin mound and shoal complex of the North Slope have obtained high-yield gas flows in multiple target layers,marking the discovery of a new gas province with reserves of(2-3)×10^(12) m^(3).This has proved the huge exploration potential of large lithologic gas reservoir group related to intracratonic rift.WEI Guoqi YANG Wei XIE Wuren SU NanX IE Zengye ZENG Fuying MA Shiyu JIN Hui WANG Zhihong ZHU Qiuying HAO Cuiguo WANG Xiaodan 2022Petroleum Exploration and Development2022,49,3:2
