| 1 | Relationship Between Grain Yield and Yield Components in Super Hybrid Rice显示文摘Chinese super hybrid rice breeding project has developed many new varieties with great yield potential. It is controversial which yield component should be emphasized in super hybrid rice production. The present study was conducted to compare super hybrid rice with common hybrid and super inbred rice and analyze contributions of yield components to grain yield of super hybrid rice under experimental conditions, and evaluate relationships between grain yield and yield components of super hybrid rice in farmer’s paddy fields. Field experiments were done in Changsha, Guidong, and Nanxian, Hunan Province, China, from 2007 to 2009. Eight super hybrid varieties, one common hybrid variety, and one super inbred variety were grown in each location and year. Rice production investigation was undertaken in high-yielding (Guidong), moderate-yielding (Nanxian), and low-yielding (Ningxiang) regions of Hunan Province, China, in 2009. Grain yield and yield components were measured in both the field experiments and rice production investigation. Super hybrid rice varieties outyielded common hybrid and super inbred varieties across three locations and years. Yield potential has been increased by 11.4% in super hybrid rice varieties compared with common and super inbred varieties. The higher yield of super hybrid varieties was attributed to improvement in panicle size. Panicles per m2 had the highest positive contribution to grain yield with the exception under yield level of 10.0 to 12.0 t ha-1, and was positively related to grain yield in farmer’s field at all of the high-, moderate-, and low-yielding regions. | 2 | Yield potential and stability in super hybrid rice and its production strategies显示文摘China's Super Hybrid Rice Breeding Program has made significant progress over the past two decades. In this paper, we reviewed our studies on the yield potential and stability in super hybrid rice and discussed the strategies for super hybrid rice production. The results of our studies show that rice yield potential has been increased by 12% in super hybrid cultivars as compared with ordinary hybrid and inbred cultivars. The higher grain yields in super hybrid rice cultivars are attributed to larger panicle size coupled with higher biomass production or higher harvest index. However, grain yields in super hybrid rice cultivars vary widely among locations depending on soil and climatic factors. Therefore, it is important to tailor target yield to local conditions in super hybrid rice production. The target yield for super hybrid rice production can be determined by the average yield method or the regression model method. Improving soil quality is critical to achieving the target yield in super hybrid rice production. Favorable crop rotations such as rice-oilseed rape and novel soil management practices, such as biochar addition, are effective approaches to improve soil quality. It is needed to develop simplified cultivation technologies for super hybrid rice to meet the changes in socioeconomic environments during the period of transition. | 3 | Exosome-functionalized magnesium-organic framework-based scaffoldswith osteogenic, angiogenic and anti-inflammatory properties foraccelerated bone regeneration显示文摘Exosomes derived from human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs-Exos) have shown potential as an effectivetherapeutic tool for repairing bone defects. Although metal-organic framework (MOF) scaffolds are promisingstrategies for bone tissue regeneration, their potential use for exosome loading remains unexplored. In this study,motivated by the potential advantages of hADSCs-Exos and Mg-GA MOF, we designed and synthesized anexosome-functionalized cell-free PLGA/Mg-GA MOF (PLGA/Exo-Mg-GA MOF) scaffold, taking using of thebenefits of hADSCs-Exos, Mg2+, and gallic acid (GA) to construct unique nanostructural interfaces to enhanceosteogenic, angiogenic and anti-inflammatory capabilities simultaneously. Our in vitro work demonstrated thebeneficial effects of PLGA/Exo-Mg-GA MOF composite scaffolds on the osteogenic effects in human bonemarrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hBMSCs) and angiogenic effects in human umbilical endothelial cells(HUVECs). Slowly released hADSCs-Exos from composite scaffolds were phagocytosed by co-cultured cells,stabilized the bone graft environment, ensured blood supply, promoted osteogenic differentiation, and acceleratedbone reconstruction. Furthermore, our in vivo experiments with rat calvarial defect model showed thatPLGA/Exo-Mg-GA MOF scaffolds promoted new bone formation and satisfactory osseointegration. | 6 | Enabling Highly Efficient k-Means Computations on the SW26010 Many-Core Processor of Sunway TaihuLight显示文摘With the advent of the big data era,the amounts of sampling data and the dimensions of data features are rapidly growing.It is highly desired to enable fast and efficient clustering of unlabeled samples based on feature similarities. As a fundamental primitive for data clustering,the k-means operation is receiving increasingly more attentions today.To achieve high performance k-means computations on modern multi-core/many-core systems,we propose a matrix-based fused framework that can achieve high performance by conducting computations on a distance matrix and at the same time can improve the memory reuse through the fusion of the distance-matrix computation and the nearest centroids reduction.We implement and optimize the parallel k-means algorithm on the SW26010 many-core processor,which is the major horsepower of Sunway TaihuLight.In particular,we design a task mapping strategy for load-balanced task distribution,a data sharing scheme to reduce the memory footprint and a register blocking strategy to increase the data locality.Optimization techniques such as instruction reordering and double buffering are further applied to improve the sustained performance.Discussions on block-size tuning and performance modeling are also presented.We show by experiments on both randomly generated and real-world datasets that our parallel implementation of k-means on SW26010 can sustain a double-precision performance of over 348.1 Gflops,which is 46.9% of the peak performance and 84%of the theoretical performance upper bound on a single core group,and can achieve a nearly ideal scalability to the whole SW26010 processor of four core groups.Performance comparisons with the previous state-of-the-art on both CPU and GPU are also provided to show the superiority of our optimized k-means kernel. | Min Li Chao Yang Qiao Sun Wen-Jing Ma Wen-Long Cao Yu-Long Ao | 2019 | Journal of Computer Science & Technology2019,34,1: | 1 |

| 10 | Strain boosts CO oxidation on Ni single-atom-catalyst supported by defective graphene显示文摘In order to realize the sulfur and water resistance and facilitate the CO oxidation reactions,the effects of strain on the adsorption of CO,O_(2),SO_(2)and H_(2)O molecules on Ni single-atom-catalyst supported by single-carbon-vacancy graphene(Ni-SG) have been studied based on first principles calculations.It shows that the compressive strain increases the adsorption energies of all above mentioned molecules on Ni-SG,where SO_(2)is adsorbed more strongly on Ni-SG than CO.However,in the presence of tensile strain,the adsorption energies decreases significantly when the molecules(O_(2)and SO_(2)) obtain electrons from NiSG,while the adsorption energies just slightly decrease when the molecules(CO and H_(2)O) lose electrons to Ni-SG,which finally achieves the preferential adsorption of CO and O_(2)molecules on Ni-SG by tensile strain.In addition,with tensile strain increasing to 10%,the rate-limited energy barrier along Eley-Rideal(ER) path monotonically increases from 0.77 eV to 0.98 eV,while the rate-limited energy barrier along Langmuir-Hinshelwood(LH) path monotonically decreases from 0.54 eV to 0.44 eV,indicating that the tensile strain can facilitate the LH mechanism while imped the ER mechanism on Ni-SG.The Hirshfeld charge and orbital levels of O_(2)and CO molecules are modulated by the tensile strain,which plays an important role for the decreasing of energy barriers for CO oxidation.Overall,the tensile strain can enhance the sulfur and water resistance of Ni-SG,as well as boost the CO oxidation reactions. | Quanguo Jiang Yushuai Qian Yuqing Liu Min Huang Zhimin Ao | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,2: | 0 |

| 16 | Cathepsin D knockdown regulates biological behaviors of granulosa cells and affects litter size traits in goats显示文摘Cathepsin D(CTSD),the major lysosomal aspartic protease that is widely expressed in different tissues,potentially regulates the biological behaviors of various cells.Follicular granulosa cells are responsive to the increase of ovulation number,hence indirectly influencing litter size.However,the mechanism underlying the effect of CTSD on the behaviors of goat granulosa cells has not been fully elucidated.This study used immunohistochemistry to analyze CTSD localization in goat ovarian tissues.Moreover,western blotting was applied to examine the differential expression of CTSD in the ovarian tissues of monotocous and polytocous goats.Subsequently,the effects of CTSD knockdown on cell proliferation,apoptosis,cell cycle,and the expression of candidate genes of the prolific traits,including bone morphogenetic protein receptor IB(BMPR-IB),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSHR),and inhibinα(INHA),were determined in granulosa cells.Results showed that CTSD was expressed in corpus luteum,follicle,and granulosa cells.Notably,CTSD expression in the monotocous group was significantly higher than that in the polytocous group.In addition,CTSD knockdown could improve granulosa cell proliferation,inhibit cell apoptosis,and significantly elevate the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)and B cell lymphoma 2(Bcl-2),but it lowered the expression of Bcl-2-associated X(Bax)and caspase-3.Furthermore,CTSD knockdown significantly reduced the ratios of cells in the G0/G1 and G2/M phases but substantially increased the ratio of cells in the S phase.The expression levels of cyclin D2 and cyclin E were elevated followed by the obvious decline of cyclin A1 expression.However,the expression levels of BMPR-IB,FSHR,and INHA clearly increased as a result of CTSD knockdown.Hence,our findings demonstrate that CTSD is an important factor affecting the litter size trait in goats by regulating the granulosa cell proliferation,apoptosis,cell cycle,and the expression of candidate genes of the prolific trait. | Zhinan ZHOU Xiang CHEN Min ZHU Weiwei WANG Zheng AO Jiafu ZHAO Wen TANG Lei HONG | 2021 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,11: | 0 |

| 20 | Comparative study of different machine learning models in landslide susceptibility assessment: A case study of Conghua District, Guangzhou, China显示文摘Machine learning is currently one of the research hotspots in the field of landslide prediction.To clarify and evaluate the differences in characteristics and prediction effects of different machine learning models,Conghua District,which is the most prone to landslide disasters in Guangzhou,was selected for landslide susceptibility evaluation.The evaluation factors were selected by using correlation analysis and variance expansion factor method.Applying four machine learning methods namely Logistic Regression(LR),Random Forest(RF),Support Vector Machines(SVM),and Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGB),landslide models were constructed.Comparative analysis and evaluation of the model were conducted through statistical indices and receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.The results showed that LR,RF,SVM,and XGB models have good predictive performance for landslide susceptibility,with the area under curve(AUC)values of 0.752,0.965,0.996,and 0.998,respectively.XGB model had the highest predictive ability,followed by RF model,SVM model,and LR model.The frequency ratio(FR)accuracy of LR,RF,SVM,and XGB models was 0.775,0.842,0.759,and 0.822,respectively.RF and XGB models were superior to LR and SVM models,indicating that the integrated algorithm has better predictive ability than a single classification algorithm in regional landslide classification problems. | Ao Zhang Xin-wen Zhao Xing-yuezi Zhao Xiao-zhan Zheng Min Zeng Xuan Huang Pan Wu Tuo Jiang Shi-chang Wang Jun He Yi-yong Li | 2024 | China Geology2024,7,1: | 0 |
