| 1 | Soil Fertility,Microbial Biomass,and Microbial Functional Diversity Responses to Four Years Fertilization in an Apple Orchard in North China显示文摘Soil microbial communities play an essential role in maintaining soil fertility and are considered as ecological indicators to evaluate soil health.In the present study,we examined the influence of almost 4 years of fertilization[no fertilizer(CK),nitrogen alone(N),nitrogen,phosphorus and potassium chemical fertilizer(NPK),organicmanure(M),nitrogen plus organic manure(NM),and NPK plus organic manure(NPKM)]on soil fertility and the functional diversity of soil microbial communities in an apple orchard.Compared to CK,fertilization increased soil organic carbon,total nitrogen,and available nutrients,but reduced soil pH in N and NPK treatments.The highest microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen,most probable number of actinomycetes,bacteria,and fungi occurred in the NPKM treatment.The average well color development(AWCD)values followed the order of NPKM>M>NPK and NM>CK and N.The Shannon index in organic manure treatments were significantly higher than in control and in treatments without organic manure.The principal component analysis showed that manure treatment was significantly separated from other treatments.These results indicated that organic manure applied alone or in combination with chemical fertilizers would increase soil fertility and functional diversity of soil microbial communities.Moreover,applying balanced N,P,K fertilizer in combination with organic manure was found to be superior to the use of a single fertilizer in improving soil microbial community quality. | Zhanling Zhu Yan Bai Minglu Lv Ge Tian Xin Zhang Li Li Yuanmao Jiang Shunfeng Ge | 2020 | Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,4: | 13 |
| 2 | An epidermal sEMG tattoo-like patch as a new human–machine interface for patients with loss of voice显示文摘Throat cancer treatment involves surgical removal of the tumor,leaving patients with facial disfigurement as well as temporary or permanent loss of voice.Surface electromyography(sEMG)generated from the jaw contains lots of voice information.However,it is difficult to record because of not only the weakness of the signals but also the steep skin curvature.This paper demonstrates the design of an imperceptible,flexible epidermal sEMG tattoo-like patch with the thickness of less than 10μm and peeling strength of larger than 1N cm−1 that exhibits large adhesiveness to complex biological surfaces and is thus capable of sEMG recording for silent speech recognition.When a tester speaks silently,the patch shows excellent performance in recording the sEMG signals from three muscle channels and recognizing those frequently used instructions with high accuracy by using the wavelet decomposition and pattern recognization.The average accuracy of action instructions can reach up to 89.04%,and the average accuracy of emotion instructions is as high as 92.33%.To demonstrate the functionality of tattoo-like patches as a new human–machine interface(HMI)for patients with loss of voice,the intelligent silent speech recognition,voice synthesis,and virtual interaction have been implemented,which are of great importance in helping these patients communicate with people and make life more enjoyable. | Huicong Liu Wei Dong Yunfei Li Fanqi Li Jiangjun Geng Minglu Zhu Tao Chen Hongmiao Zhang Lining Sun Chengkuo Lee | 2020 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2020,6,1: | 6 |

| 5 | Deep learning-enabled triboelectric smart socks for IoT-based gait analysis and VR applications显示文摘The era of artificial intelligence and internet of things is rapidly developed by recent advances in wearable electronics.Gait reveals sensory information in daily life containing personal information,regarding identification and healthcare.Current wearable electronics of gait analysis are mainly limited by high fabrication cost,operation energy consumption,or inferior analysis methods,which barely involve machine learning or implement nonoptimal models that require massive datasets for training.Herein,we developed low-cost triboelectric intelligent socks for harvesting waste energy from low-frequency body motions to transmit wireless sensory data.The sock equipped with self-powered functionality also can be used as wearable sensors to deliver information,regarding the identity,health status,and activity of the users.To further address the issue of ineffective analysis methods,an optimized deep learning model with an end-to-end structure on the socks signals for the gait analysis is proposed,which produces a 93.54%identification accuracy of 13 participants and detects five different human activities with 96.67%accuracy.Toward practical application,we map the physical signals collected through the socks in the virtual space to establish a digital human system for sports monitoring,healthcare,identification,and future smart home applications. | Zixuan Zhang Tianyiyi He Minglu Zhu Zhongda Sun Qiongfeng Shi Jianxiong Zhu Bowei Dong Mehmet Rasit Yuce Chengkuo Lee | 2020 | npj Flexible Electronics2020,4,1: | 4 |

| 14 | Insights from metagenomic,metatranscriptomic,and molecular ecological network analyses into the effects of chromium nanoparticles on activated sludge system显示文摘The objectives of this study were to investigate the influence of chromium nanoparticles(Cr NPs)on the nitrogen and phosphorus removal performance and the bacterial structures of an activated sludge(AS)system.Also,we through molecular ecological networks(MENs)discussed the bacterial interactions.At last we researched the change of the functional genes and their expression patterns related to nitrogen and phosphorus removaT in an AS system.The results showed that long-term exposure to 1 mg/L Cr NPs significantly promoted the denitrifying process and phosphorus removal in the AS system.The relative abundance of denitrifying and phosphorus removal microorganisms,such as Denitratisoma,Thauera,Dechloromonas,and Defluviicoccus,increased significantly.Candidatus Accumulibacter,well-known as polyphosphate-accumulating organisms(PAOs),increased significantly;the relative abundance of Candidatus Competibacter,known as glycogen-accumulating organisms(GAOs),decreased significantly.Furthermore,metagenomic and metatranscriptomic analysis revealed that most of the genera related to denitrifying and phosphorus removal had greatly increased,according to the quantities of denitrifying and phosphorus genes,and the corresponding transcription likewise greatly increased.Lastly,MENs analysis showed that although the overall network became smaller and looser in the presence of Cr NPs,the microbial connections among members related to nitrogen and phosphorus removal were enhanced.The abundance increases of denitrifiers and PAOs,and their increased transcription of functional genes,together with the enhanced interactions may be associated with the promotion of the denitrifying process and phosphorus removal. | Quan Zheng Minglu Zhang Tingting Zhang Xinhui Li Minghan Zhu Xiaohui Wang | 2020 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,4: | 0 |
