5Climatic characteristics of convective and stratiform precipitation over the Tropical and Subtropical areas as derived from TRMM PR显示文摘Climatic characteristics of convective and stratiform precipitation over the Tropical and Subtropical areas are investigated based on the measurements of Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission's(TRMM) Precipitation Radar(PR) from 1998 to 2007.Results indicate that convective precipitation are distributed mainly over the Intertropical Convergence Zone(ITCZ),the South Pacific Convergence Zone(SPCZ),the Asian Monsoon Region,regions between the South America and the Mid-America,and the Tropical Africa where the frequencies lie between 1% and 2%.But in four seasons,total area fractions of convective precipitation frequencies less than 1% all exceed 85%.The frequencies of stratiform precipitation are much higher than those of convective precipitation,and total area fractions of stratiform precipitation frequencies >1% are over 55% during four seasons.However,frequencies of the two rain types show not only remarkable regionality,but also distinct seasonal variations.Conditional rain rates of convective precipitation range from 6 to 14 mm/h whereas those of stratiform precipitation are smaller than 4 mm/h.Meanwhile,rain tops of convective precipitation are higher than those of stratiform precipitation.The mean profiles of the two rain types show significant latitudinal dependency.And the seasonal variations of precipitation profiles are displayed mainly in the variations of rain tops.The frequencies and conditional rain rates of both rain types over ocean are higher than those over land,but rain tops are just the opposite.Moreover,the seasonal variations of both rain types over ocean are weaker than those over land because of the different stable states of underlying surfaces.LIU Peng LI ChongYin WANG Yu FU YunFei 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,3:11
6Leonurine protects ischemia-induced brain injury via modulating SOD, MDA and GABA levels显示文摘The present study was designed to investigate the protective effects of leonurine, a compound purified from Herba Leonuri that is active on ischemic rat behavior and cortical neurons, and explore the underlying mechanism. The general rat activity, cortical neuron morphology, superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA),γ- aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glutamate decarboxylase 67 (GAD67) levels were measured. We found leonurine significantly improve the general activity of rats in an opefield test, which was associated with attenuated neuronal damage induced by ischemia. Moreover, serum SOD activity was significantly greater, MDA level lower in the leonurine group as compared with ischemia group. In addition, GABA content in the cerebral cortex was significantly greater in high-dose leonurine group. Correspondingly, GAD67 protein level coincided with the GABA level. 7β-diversity Patterns of Plant Community in Fragmented Habitat in a Degenerated Meadow in Songnen Plain,China显示文摘A number of isolated islands of Leymus chinensis + herbosa community were investigated in fragmented habitat islands,by Braun-Blanquet field survey approach,in a degenerated meadow in the Songnen Plain,China in 2007.These islands were classified as large,medium,and small scales on the basis of the island area(100-1000m2,large island;50-100m2,middle island;10-50m2,small island).Each scale of the investigation involved eight islands.The responses of β-diversity patterns of plant taxon to the habitat fragmentation at local community and metacommunity levels were analyzed on different scales of 24 isolated islands.The results indicated that at the local community level,there were 57 species belonging to 20 families and 49 genera in large islands,49 species belonging to 16 families and 40 genera in middle islands,and 27 species belonging to eight families and 23 genera in small islands.β-diversity indexes for species,genus and family in large,middle,and small islands varied greatly,and the highest value of the indexes was not noted in the largest island.However,the average of the data obtained at the three scales showed that across large islands,Whittaker indexes were low and Bray-Curtis similarity indexes were high,while across small islands,Whittaker indexes were high and Bray-Curtis similarity indexes were low.At the metacommunity level,Whittaker indexes for species and genus showed a great significantly negative double logarithmic correlation(p<0.01) with the island area,whereas the Bray-Curtis indexes for species,genus and family showed a great significantly positive double logarithmic correlation(p<0.01) with the island area.At both local community and metacommunity levels,turnovers of species and genus could respond more sensitively to spatial changes of plant diversity patterns than that of family.Hence,the species and the genus could be used for the analysis of β-diversity patterns of plant community.HAN Dayong LI Haiyan YANG Yunfei 2009Chinese Geographical Science2009,19,4:11
8Land-surface processes and summer-cloud-precipitation characteristics in the Tibetan Plateau and their effects on downstream weather:a review and perspective显示文摘Correct understanding of the land-surface processes and cloud-precipitation processes in the Tibetan Plateau(TP)is an important prerequisite for the study and forecast of the downstream activities of weather systems and one of the key points for understanding the global atmospheric movement.In order to show the achievements that have been made,this paper reviews the progress on the observations for the atmospheric boundary layer,land-surface heat fluxes,cloud-precipitation distributions and vertical structures by using ground-and space-based multiplatform,multisensor instruments and the effect of the cloud system in the TP on the downstream weather.The results show that the form drag related to the topography,land-atmosphere momentum and scalar fluxes is an important part of the parameterization process.The sensible heat flux decreased especially in the central and northern TP caused by the decrease in wind speeds and the differences in the ground-air temperatures.Observations show that the cloud and precipitation over the TP have a strong diurnal variation.Studies also show the compressed-air column in the troposphere by the higher-altitude terrain of the TP makes particles inside clouds vary at a shorter distance in the vertical direction than those in the non-plateau area so that precipitation intensity over the TP is usually small with short duration,and the vertical structure of the convective precipitation over the TP is obviously different from that in other regions.In addition,the influence of the TP on severe weather downstream is preliminarily understood from the mechanism.It is necessary to use model simulations and observation techniques to reveal the difference between cloud precipitation in the TP and non-plateau areas in order to understand the cloud microphysical parameters over the TP and the processes of the land boundary layer affecting cloud,precipitation and weather in the downstream regions.Yunfei Fu Yaoming Ma Lei Zhong Yuanjian Yang Xueliang Guo Chenghai Wang Xiaofeng Xu Kun Yang Xiangde Xu Liping Liu Guangzhou Fan Yueqing Li Donghai Wang 2020National Science Review2020,7,3:10
9Centimeter-scale-diameter Co-based bulk metallic glasses with fracture strength exceeding 5000 MPa显示文摘Co48-xFexCr15Mo14C15B6Er2 (x = 2.5 and 5) bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) with critical size (dc) up to 15 mm in diameter were synthesized by copper mold casting. Co43Fe5Cr15Mo14C15B6Er2 BMG has a wide supercooled liquid region (84 K) and ultrahigh fracture strength exceeding 5000 MPa,which is the highest value for reported metallic glasses with dc exceeding 1 cm. Furthermore,the Poisson ratio,Young modulus,shear modulus and bulk modulus of this alloy were evaluated to be 0.31,217 GPa,82 GPa and 214 GPa,respectively. The ideal configurational entropy of Co48-xFexCr15Mo14C15B6Er2 (x = 0 and 5) has been calculated. The introduction of the similar element Fe in the Fe-free Co-Cr-Mo-C-B-Er alloy will be beneficial to increasing the ideal config-urational entropy and depressing the critical cooling rate to achieve greater glass-forming ability. 10Load curve smoothing strategy based on unified state model of different demand side resources显示文摘Renewable energy based distributed generation(DG) has the potential to reach high penetration levels in the residential region. However, its integration at the demand side will cause rapid power fluctuations of the tieline in the residential region. The traditional generators are generally difficult to manage rapid power fluctuations due to their insufficient efficiency requirements and low responding speed. With an effective control strategy, the demand side resources(DSRs) including DGs, electric vehicles and thermostatically-controlled loads at thedemand side, are able to serve as the energy storage system to smooth the load fluctuations. However, it is a challenge to properly model different types of DSRs. To solve this problem, a unified state model is first developed to describe the characteristics of different DSRs. 11Periodic atomization characteristics of simplex swirl injector induced by klystron effect显示文摘The atomization dynamic characteristics of a simplex swirl injector was investigated experimentally by using a hydrodynamic mechanical pulsator and the shadow photography technique. The frequency response characteristics of the fluid film and atomization fluctuations and their correlations with pressure fluctuations were obtained by using an in-house code of image processing. It is demonstrated that the klystron effect induced by periodic pressure fluctuations results in periodic liquid film fluctuation with large amplitudes, periodic superposition of droplets and reduction of the breakup length. It was found that the atomization of the simplex swirl injector only responds to the pressure fluctuation in frequency range approximately from 0 to 300 Hz, and it is particularly sensitive to pressure fluctuations at frequencies from 100 to 200 Hz. 14A new sensor bias-driven spatio-temporal fusion model based on convolutional neural networks显示文摘Owing to the tradeoff between scanning swath and pixel size,currently no satellite Earth observation sensors are able to collect images with high spatial and temporal resolution simultaneously.This limits the application of satellite images in many fields,including the characterization of crop yields or the detailed investigation of human-nature interactions.Spatio-temporal fusion(STF)is a widely used approach to solve the aforementioned problem.Traditional STF methods reconstruct fine-resolution images under the assumption that changes are able to be transferred directly from one sensor to another.However,this assumption may not hold in real scenarios,owing to the different capacity of available sensors to characterize changes.In this paper,we model such differences as a bias,and introduce a new sensor bias-driven STF model(called BiaSTF)to mitigate the differences between the spectral and spatial distortions presented in traditional methods.In addition,we propose a new learning method based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs)to efficiently obtain this bias.An experimental evaluation on two public datasets suggests that our newly developed method achieves excellent performance when compared to other available approaches.Yunfei LI Jun LI Lin HE Jin CHEN Antonio PLAZA 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,4:7
15Recent advances in emerging techniques for non-destructive detection of seed viability: A review显示文摘Over the past decades,imaging and spectroscopy techniques have been developed rapidly with widespread applications in non-destructive agro-food quality determination.Seeds are one of themost fundamental elements of agriculture and forestry.Seed viability is of great significance in seed quality characteristics reflecting potential seed germination,and there is a great need for a quick and effective method to determine the germination condition and viability of seeds prior to cultivate,sale and plant.Some researches based on spectra and/or image processing and analysis have been explored in terms of the external and internal quality of a variety of seeds.Many attempts have been made in image segmentation and spectra correction methods to predict seed quality using various traditional and novel methods.This review focuses on the comparative introduction,development and applications of emerging techniques in the analysis of seed viability,in particular,near infrared spectroscopy,hyperspectral and multispectral imaging,Raman spectroscopy,infrared thermography,and soft X-ray imaging methods.The basic theories,principle components,relative chemometric processing,analytical methods and prediction accuracies are reported and compared.Additionally,on the foundation of the observed applications,the technical challenges and future outlook for these emerging techniques are also discussed.Yu Xia Yunfei Xu Jiangbo Li Chi Zhang Shuxiang Fan 2019Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2019,,1:7
16An epidermal sEMG tattoo-like patch as a new human–machine interface for patients with loss of voice显示文摘Throat cancer treatment involves surgical removal of the tumor,leaving patients with facial disfigurement as well as temporary or permanent loss of voice.Surface electromyography(sEMG)generated from the jaw contains lots of voice information.However,it is difficult to record because of not only the weakness of the signals but also the steep skin curvature.This paper demonstrates the design of an imperceptible,flexible epidermal sEMG tattoo-like patch with the thickness of less than 10μm and peeling strength of larger than 1N cm−1 that exhibits large adhesiveness to complex biological surfaces and is thus capable of sEMG recording for silent speech recognition.When a tester speaks silently,the patch shows excellent performance in recording the sEMG signals from three muscle channels and recognizing those frequently used instructions with high accuracy by using the wavelet decomposition and pattern recognization.The average accuracy of action instructions can reach up to 89.04%,and the average accuracy of emotion instructions is as high as 92.33%.To demonstrate the functionality of tattoo-like patches as a new human–machine interface(HMI)for patients with loss of voice,the intelligent silent speech recognition,voice synthesis,and virtual interaction have been implemented,which are of great importance in helping these patients communicate with people and make life more enjoyable.Huicong Liu Wei Dong Yunfei Li Fanqi Li Jiangjun Geng Minglu Zhu Tao Chen Hongmiao Zhang Lining Sun Chengkuo Lee 2020Microsystems & Nanoengineering2020,6,1:6

19Wearable Alignment‑Free Microfber‑Based Sensor Chip for Precise Vital Signs Monitoring and Cardiovascular Assessment显示文摘Continuous pulse wave signals monitoring is the essential basis for clinical cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment.Recent researches show the majority of current electronic pulse sensors usually face challenges in electrical safety concern,poor durability and demanding precision in position alignment.Thus,a highly sensitive,inherently electrical safe,robust and alignment-free device is highly desired.Here,we present a wearable alignment-free microfber-based sensor chip(AFMSC)for precise vital signs monitoring and cardiovascular health assessment.The AFMSC comprises an optical micro/nano fber sensor(MNF)and a fexible soft liquid sac while the MNF sensor is used to perceive the physiological signals and the liquid sac is used to eliminate the misalignment.The real-time and accurate monitoring of the pulse signals was realized by tracking the optical power variation of transmitted light from MNF.Then,the cardiovascular vital signs extracted from radial artery pulse signals were used to evaluate cardiovascular health condition and the results were in accordance with human physiological characteristics.Moreover,the pulse signals from diferent arterial area,the respiration signals from chest and the radial pulse signals before and after exercise were detected and analyzed.The non-invasive,continuous and accurate monitoring of cardiovascular health based on the reported wearable and alignment-free device is promising in both ftness monitoring and medical diagnostics for cardiovascular disease prevention and diagnosis.Liangye Li Yunfei Liu Changying Song Shunfeng Sheng Liuyang Yang Zhijun Yan Dora Juan Juan Hu Qizhen Sun 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,3:5
20Effect of Mo content on microstructure and stress-rupture properties of a Ni-base single crystal superalloy显示文摘The additional 1.5 wt% Mo was added in a Ni-base single crystal(SC) alloy with the composition of Ni–6.5Al–8.0Mo–2.4Cr–6.2Ta–4.9Co–1.5Re–(0.01–0.05)Y(wt%) to study the effect of Mo content on the microstructure and stress-rupture properties. The creep and stress-rupture tests under the conditions of 850 °C/500 MPa and 1100 °C/130 MPa were conducted, and the microstructure of as-cast, heat treated and stress ruptured specimens were analyzed. It was found that the 1.5 wt% Mo addition enhanced the stress-rupture lives at both intermediate(850 °C) and high(1100 °C)temperatures. The microstructure analysis showed that adding 1.5 wt% Mo in the basic alloy affected the microstructure dramatically, i.e., the Mo-rich phases formed in the specimens of as-cast and stress-ruptured specimens. It is considered that the improvement of the stress-rupture lives is duo to the strengthening effect of Mo to both γ and γ'phases and the decrease of stacking fault energy, diffusion constant and dislocation spacing.
