1Enhancement of Fenton oxidation for removing organic matter from hypersaline solution by accelerating ferric system with hydroxylamine hydrochloride and benzoquinone显示文摘Fenton oxidation is generally inhibited in the presence of a high concentration of chloride ions.This study investigated the feasibility of using benzoquinone(BQ) and hydroxylamine hydrochloride(HA) as Fenton enhancers for the removal of glycerin from saline water under ambient temperature by accelerating the ferric system.It was found that organics removal was not obviously affected by chloride ions of low concentration(less than 0.1 mol/L),while the mineralization rate was strongly inhibited in the presence of a large amount of chloride ions.In addition,ferric hydrolysis-precipitation was significantly alleviated in the presence of HA and BQ,and HA was more effective in reducing ferric ions into ferrous ions than HA,while the H_2O_2 decomposition rate was higher in the BQ-Fenton system.Electron spin resonance analysis revealed that OH production was reduced in high salinity conditions,while it was enhanced after the addition of HA and BQ(especially HA).This study provided a possible solution to control and alleviate the inhibitory effect of chloride ions on the Fenton process for organics removal.Siwei Peng Weijun Zhang Jie He Xiaofang Yang Dongsheng Wang Guisheng Zeng 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3:10
2Optical analysis of a hybrid solar concentrating Photovoltaic /Thermal (CPV/T) system with beam splitting technique显示文摘A novel hybrid solar concentrating Photovoltaic/Thermal (CPV/T) system with beam splitting technique is presented. In this system, a beam splitter is used to separate the concentrated solar radiation into two parts: one for the PV power generation and the other for thermal utility. The solar concentrator is a flat Fresnel-type concentrator with glass mirror reflectors. It can concentrate solar radiation onto solar cells with high uniformity, which is beneficial to improving the efficiency of solar cells. The thermal receiver is separated to the solar cells, and therefore, the thermal fluid can be heated to a relatively high temperature and does not affect the performance of solar cells. A dimensionless model was developed for the performance analysis of the concentrating system. The effects of the main parameters on the performance of the concentrator were analyzed. The beam splitter with coating materials Nb2O3 /SiO2 was designed by using the needle optimization technique, which can reflect about 71% of the undesired radiation for silicon cell(1.1m < 3m) to the thermal receiver for thermal utility. 5Environmentally Tough and Stretchable MXene Organohydrogel with Exceptionally Enhanced Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Performances显示文摘Conductive hydrogels have potential applications in shielding electromagnetic(EM)radiation interference in deformable and wearable electronic devices,but usually suffer from poor environmental stability and stretching-induced shielding performance degradation.Although organohydrogels can improve the environmental stability of materials,their development is at the expense of reducing electrical conductivity and thus weakening EM interference shielding ability.Here,a MXene organohydrogel is prepared which is composed of MXene network for electron conduction,binary solvent channels for ion conduction,and abundant solvent-polymer-MXene interfaces for EM wave scattering.This organohydrogel possesses excellent anti-drying ability,low-temperature tolerance,stretchability,shape adaptability,adhesion and rapid self-healing ability.Two effective strategies have been proposed to solve the problems of current organohydrogel shielding materials.By reasonably controlling the MXene content and the glycerol-water ratio in the gel,MXene organohydrogel can exhibit exceptionally enhanced EM interference shielding performances compared to MXene hydrogel due to the increased physical cross-linking density of the gel.Moreover,MXene organohydrogel shows attractive stretching-enhanced interference effectiveness,caused by the connection and parallel arrangement of MXene nanosheets.This well-designed MXene organohydrogel has potential applications in shielding EM interference in deformable and wearable electronic devices.Yuanhang Yu Peng Yi Wenbin Xu Xin Sun Gao Deng Xiaofang Liu Jianglan Shui Ronghai Yu 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,5:6

8The metabolic role of LncZBTB39-1:2 in the trophoblast mobility of preeclampsia显示文摘Preeclampsia is characterized by new onset of hypertension and proteinuria after 20 weeks’gestation and is a leading cause of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.The pathogenesis of preeclampsia is often associated with aberrant trophoblast function that leads to shallow placental implantation.However,the exact underlying mechanisms remain unclear.Placental LncZBTB39-1:2 expression level was investigated in 20 healthy placentae and 20 placentae with preeclampsia using qRT-PCR,and the metabolic profile of trophoblasts overexpressing LncZBTB39-1:2 in vitro was analysed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GCeMS).In this study,we found that the expression of LncZBTB39-1:2 was significantly higher in preeclamptic placentae than in healthy placentae.Our metabolomics results have shown that tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediates and metabolites related to carbohydrate metabolism were decreased with the overexpression of LncZBTB39-1:2 in HTR8/SVneo cells.These findings were validated by detecting a lower level of intracellular ATP in HTR8/Vneo cells.Furthermore,the migration of HTR8/SVneo cells was compromised when cells were transfected with a plasmid encompassing LncZBTB39-1:2 overexpression.From these results,we conclude that abnormal levels of LncZBTB39-1:2 expression might lead to aberrant conditions in HTR-8/SVneo trophoblast cells.Aberrant conditions might be associated with dysregulated trophoblast migration and subsequent failure of uterine spiral artery remodelling,a pathogenesis recognised as a contributing factor in the aetiology of preeclampsia.Yamin Liu Ting-Li Han Xiaofang Luo Yuxiang Bai Xuehai Chen Wei Peng Xi Xiong Philip N.Baker Chao Tong Hongbo Qi 2018Genes & Diseases2018,5,3:3

12Control of CD4^(+) T cells to restrain inflammatory diseases via eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase显示文摘CD4^(+)T cells,particularly IL-17-secreting helper CD4^(+)T cells,play a central role in the inflammatory processes underlying autoimmune disorders.Eukaryotic Elongation Factor 2 Kinase(eEF2K)is pivotal in CD8^(+)T cells and has important implications in vascular dysfunction and inflammation-related diseases such as hypertension.However,its specific immunological role in CD4^(+)T cell activities and related inflammatory diseases remains elusive.Our investigation has uncovered that the deficiency of eEF2K disrupts the survival and proliferation of CD4^(+)T cells,impairs their ability to secrete cytokines.Notably,this dysregulation leads to heightened production of pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-17,fosters a pro-inflammatory microenvironment in the absence of eEF2K in CD4^(+)T cells.Furthermore,the absence of eEF2K in CD4^(+)T cells is linked to increased metabolic activity and mitochondrial bioenergetics.We have shown that eEF2K regulates mitochondrial function and CD4^(+)T cell activity through the upregulation of the transcription factor,signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3).Crucially,the deficiency of eEF2K exacerbates the severity of inflammation-related diseases,including rheumatoid arthritis,multiple sclerosis,and ulcerative colitis.Strikingly,the use of C188-9,a small molecule targeting STAT3,mitigates colitis in a murine immunodeficiency model receiving eEF2K knockout(KO)CD4^(+)T cells.These findings emphasize the pivotal role of eEF2K in controlling the function and metabolism of CD4^(+)T cells and its indispensable involvement in inflammation-related diseases.Manipulating eEF2K represents a promising avenue for novel therapeutic approaches in the treatment of inflammation-related disorders.Hao-Yun Peng Liqing Wang Jugal Kishore Das Anil Kumar Darby JBallard Yijie Ren Xiaofang Xiong Paul de Figueiredo Jin-Ming Yang Jianxun Song 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,11:1
