The use of phase-change cooling strategy in proton exchange membrane fuel cells:A numerical study显示文摘Thermal management is considered a critical issue in proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs),since it not only influences the cell performance but also impacts PEMFC’s reliability and durability. With the ever-increasing power density of PEMFC,traditional cooling approaches including air cooling and water cooling become difficult to meet the demand for highpower heat dissipation.Therefore,phase-change cooling is proposed for fuel cell application in this work, and the potential advantages are discussed and demonstrated via a mathematical model incorporating phase-change heat transfer. The thermal management performance is evaluated by temperature uniformity, maximum temperature difference, and the cooling capacity to compare the difference between phase-change cooling and traditional methods, which demonstrates that phase-change cooling owns a greatly improved thermal management performance. In addition,a simple method to broaden the operating temperature of phase-change cooling based on one certain coolant is offered, which is pressurizing in the coolant channel to regulate the boiling temperature that could further improve the application feasibility of phase-change cooling strategy in fuel cells. | YAN XiaoHui PENG YiMeng SHEN YuanTing SHEN ShuiYun WEI GuangHua YIN JieWei ZHANG JunLiang | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,12: | 4
High-efficiency green micro-LEDs with GaN tunnel junctions grown hybrid by PA-MBE and MOCVD显示文摘We fabricated p-i-n tunnel junction(TJ)contacts for hole injection on c-plane green micro-light-emitting diodes(micro-LEDs)by a hybrid growth approach using plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy(PA-MBE)and metal–organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD).The TJ was formed by an MBE-grown ultra-thin unintentionally doped In Ga N polarization layer and an n^(++)∕n^(+)-GaN layer on the activated p^(++)-Ga N layer prepared by MOCVD.This hybrid growth approach allowed for the realization of a steep doping interface and ultrathin depletion width for efficient inter-band tunneling.Compared to standard micro-LEDs,the TJ micro-LEDs showed a reduced device resistance, enhanced electroluminescence intensity, and a reduced efficiency droop. The size-independent J-V characteristics indicate that TJ could serve as an excellent current spreading layer. All these results demonstrated that hybrid TJ contacts contributed to the realization of high-performance micro-LEDs with long emission wavelengths. | YAOZHENG WU BIN LIU FEIFAN XU YIMENG SANG TAO TAO ZILI XIE KE WANG XIANGQIAN XIU PENG CHEN DUNJUN CHEN HAI LU RONG ZHANG YOUDOU ZHENG | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,9: | 2
Effects of tannic acid on the immunity and intestinal health of broiler chickens with necrotic enteritis infection显示文摘Background In broiler chickens, necrotic enteritis(NE)infection can reduce production performance.Tannic acid has shown great potential as a treatment of NE in broilers. However, the appropriate dosage of tannic acid in NE of broilers and the improvement effect on intestinal health are not very clear. In this study,we aimed to investigate the effects of different doses of tannic acid on the production performance, immunity, and intestinal health of broilers by constructing an NE model with C.perfringens infection and determining the appropriate dosage of tannic acid with regard to NE.Results Challenged birds showed significant reduction in body weight, villus height, and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth(P<0.05)and increase in the feed consumption gain ratio, intestinal lesion score, and crypt depth(P<0.05).The infection significantly reduced the relative Bacteroidota and Ligilactobacillus abundance(P<0.05)and increased the ratio of Firmicutes/Bacteroidota and cecal content of C.perfringens(P<0.05).Challenged birds fed diets supplemented with tannic acid showed significantly increased mRNA expression of nutrient transport carriers and intestinal barrier genes and growth performance and reduced serum zonulin and endotoxin levels(P<0.05).Addi-tion of tannic acid to the diet inhibited the inflammatory response by reducing the number of coccidia oocysts in feces and the content of C.perfringens in the cecum.Specifically, tannic acid reduced the serum levels of C reactive protein, myeloperoxidase, and specific IgY and ileal mucosal secretory immunoglobulin A levels in the ileal mucosa compared with those in the NE-infected birds.NE-infected birds fed diets supplemented with tannic acid also showed significantly increased relative Anaerocolumna,Thermoanaerobacterium, and Thermosinus abundance(P<0.05);their microbial composition and functional predictions were similar to those of the NC group. Conclusions Tannic acid in the diet alleviated NE by enhancing the intestinal barrier and absorption function. The recommended dietary tannic acid additive level is 500–750 mg/kg.Our study findings would be useful in reducing related economic losses in the broiler industry. | Huiping Xu Jianyang Fu Yimeng Luo Peng Li Bochen Song Zengpeng Lv Yuming Guo | 2023 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,6: | 1
The antigenicity of SARS-CoV-2 Delta variants aggregated 10 high-frequency mutations in RBD has not changed sufficiently to replace the current vaccine strain显示文摘Emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants are the most serious problem for COVID-19 prophylaxis and treatment. To determine whether the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine strain should be updated following variant emergence like seasonal flu vaccine, the changed degree on antigenicity of SARS-CoV-2 variants and H3N2 flu vaccine strains was compared. The neutralization activities of Alpha,Beta and Gamma variants’spike protein-immunized sera were analysed against the eight current epidemic variants and 20 possible variants combining the top 10 prevalent RBD mutations based on the Delta variant, which were constructed using pseudotyped viruses.Meanwhile, the neutralization activities of convalescent sera and current inactivated and recombinant protein vaccine-elicited sera were also examined against all possible Delta variants.Eight HA protein-expressing DNAs elicited-animal sera were also tested against eight pseudotyped viruses of H3N2 flu vaccine strains from 2011–2019.Our results indicate that the antigenicity changes of possible Delta variants were mostly within four folds, whereas the antigenicity changes among different H3N2 vaccine strains were approximately 10–100-fold.Structural analysis of the antigenic characterization of the SARS-CoV-2 and H3N2 mutations supports the neutralization results. This study indicates that the antigenicity changes of the current SARS-CoV-2 may not be sufficient to require replacement of the current vaccine strain. | Jiajing Wu Jianhui Nie Li Zhang Hao Song Yimeng An Ziteng Liang Jing Yang Ruxia Ding Shuo Liu Qianqian Li Tao Li Zhimin Cui Mengyi Zhang Peng He Youchun Wang Xiaowang Qu Zhongyu Hu Qihui Wang Weijin Huang | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,2: | 1
The First High-quality Reference Genome of Sika Deer Provides Insights into High-tannin Adaptation显示文摘Sika deer are known to prefer oak leaves, which are rich in tannins and toxic to most mammals;however, the genetic mechanisms underlying their unique ability to adapt to living in the jungle are still unclear. In identifying the mechanism responsible for the tolerance of a highly toxic diet,we have made a major advancement by explaining the genome of sika deer.We generated the first high-quality,chromosome-level genome assembly of sika deer and measured the correlation between tannin intake and RNA expression in 15 tissues through 180 experiments.Comparative genome analyses showed that the UGT and CYP gene families are functionally involved in the adaptation of sika deer to high-tannin food, especially the expansion of the UGT family 2 subfamily B of UGT genes. The first chromosome-level assembly and genetic characterization of the tolerance to a highly toxic diet suggest that the sika deer genome may serve as an essential resource for understanding evolutionary events and tannin adaptation. Our study provides a paradigm of comparative expressive genomics that can be applied to the study of unique biological features in non-model animals. | Xiumei Xing Cheng Ai Tianjiao Wang Yang Li Huitao Liu Pengfei Hu Guiwu Wang Huamiao Liu Hongliang Wang Ranran Zhang Junjun Zheng Xiaobo Wang Lei Wang Yuxiao Chang Qian Qian Jinghua Yu Lixin Tang Shigang Wu Xiujuan Shao Alun Li Peng Cui Wei Zhan Sheng Zhao Zhichao Wu Xiqun Shao Yimeng Dong Min Rong Yihong Tan Xuezhe Cui Shuzhuo Chang Xingchao Song Tongao Yang Limin Sun Yan Ju Pei Zhao Huanhuan Fan Ying Liu Xinhui Wang Wanyun Yang Min Yang Tao Wei Shanshan Song Jiaping Xu Zhigang Yue Qiqi Liang Chunyi Li Jue Ruan Fuhe Yang | 2023 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,1: | 1

Association between homologous recombination deficiency and outcomes with platinum and platinum-free chemotherapy in patients with triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Objective:The choice of chemotherapeutic regimen for triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)remains controversial.Homologous recombination deficiency(HRD)has attracted increasing attention in informing chemotherapy treatment. This study was aimed at investigating the feasibility of HRD as a clinically actionable biomarker for platinum-containing and platinum-free therapy. Methods:Chinese patients with TNBC who received chemotherapy between May 1,2008 and March 31,2020 were retrospectively analyzed with a customized 3D-HRD panel.HRD positivity was defined by an HRD score≥30 or deleterious BRCA1/2 mutation.A total of 386 chemotherapy-treated patients with TNBC were screened from a surgical cohort(NCT01150513)and a metastatic cohort, and 189 patients with available clinical and tumor sequencing data were included. Results:In the entire cohort,49.2%(93/189)of patients were identified as HRD positive(40 with deleterious BRCA1/2 mutations and 53 with BRCA1/2 intact with an HRD score of≥30).In the first-line metastatic setting, platinum therapy was associated with longer median progression-free survival(mPFS)than platinum-free therapy[9.1 vs.3.0 months;hazard ratio(HR),0.43;95%confidence interval 0.22–0.84;P=0.01].Among HRD-positive patients, the mPFS was significantly longer in those treated with platinum rather than platinum-free therapy(13.6 vs.2.0 months;HR,0.11;P=0.001).Among patients administered a platinum-free regimen,HRD-negative patients showed a PFS significantly superior to that of HRD-positive patients(P=0.02;treatment-biomarker P-interaction=0.001).Similar results were observed in the BRCA1/2-intact subset. In the adjuvant setting,HRD-positive patients tended to benefit more from platinum chemotherapy than from platinum-free chemotherapy(P=0.05,P-interaction=0.02).Conclusions:HRD characterization may guide decision-making regarding the use of platinum treatment in patients with TNBC in both adjuvant and metastatic settings. | Yimeng Chen Xue Wang Feng Du Jian Yue Yiran Si Xiaochen Zhao Lina Cui Bei Zhang Ting Bei Binghe Xu Peng Yuan | 2023 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2023,20,2: | 1
Ar-plasma enhanced copper-nickel alloy catalysis for ammonia synthesis显示文摘Ammonia(NH_(3))synthesis via electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction generally suffers from low NH_(3)yield and faradaic efficiency.Compared with activating stable,low-solubility N_(2),the electrochemical conversion of nitrates to ammonia provides a more reasonable route for NH_(3)production.Herein,we introduce Ar-plasma to enhance the interaction between copper-nickel alloys and carbon substrate to improve the performance of NH_(3)production.The NH_(3)faradaic efficiency from nitrate is nearly 100%and the yield rate is over 6000μgNH_(3)cm^(−2)h^(−1).DFT(density functional theory)calculation reveals the high performance of Cu_(50)Ni_(50)originates from the lower energy barrier on the reaction path and the closer position to the Fermi level of the d-band center. This work offers a promising strategy for plasma-modified electrocatalyst to promote ammonia synthesis via nitrate reduction. | Zhou Yimeng Lv Jiabao Peng Yaqi Lin Xiaoqing Lv Xingjie Ye Qiulin Liu Shaojun Wu Angjian Li Xiaodong | 2022 | Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2022,4,2: | 0
Sino-U.S.Strategic Mutual Trus显示文摘Relations between China and the U.S.have been relatively stable for nearly seven years, for the first time since the end of the Cold War.Strategic mutual trust, however,is not enough and there is a long way to go before both countries can achieve a permanent strategic stability. Four problems have prevented stability in bilateral relations, namely structural internal accidental and cognitive issues. The goal of building strategic mutual trust still remains distant, and developing a good understanding between each other is the thorniest problem for both countries.Better mutual understanding can lead to an expansion of bilateral relations.China and the U.S.need to increase mutual trust and work towards achieving strategic stability. | Yuan Peng Research Professor and Director of the Institute of American Studies,China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR).Zhang Yimeng | 2008 | Contemporary International Relations2008,18,2: | 0
Numerical analysis on mechanical difference of sandstone under in-situ stress, pore pressure preserved environment at depth显示文摘Deep in-situ rock mechanics considers the influence of the in-situ environment on mechanical properties, differentiating it from traditional rock mechanics. To investigate the effect of in-situ stress, pore pressure preserved environment on the mechanical difference of sandstone, four tests are numerically modeled by COMSOL:conventional triaxial test, conventional pore pressure test,in-situ stress restoration and reconstruction test, and in-situ pore pressure-preserved test(not yet realized in the laboratory). The in-situ stress restoration parameter is introduced to characterize the recovery effect of in-situ stress on elastic modulus and heterogeneous distribution of sandstone at different depths.A random function and nonuniform pore pressure coefficient are employed to describe the non-uniform distribution of pore pressure in the in-situ environment.Numerical results are compared with existing experimental data to validate the models and calibrate the numerical parameters.By extracting mechanical parameters from numerical cores, the stress-strain curves of the four tests under different depths,in-situ stress and pore pressure are compared. The influence of non-uniform pore pressure coefficient and depth on the peak strength of sandstone is analyzed. The results show a strong linear relationship between the in-situ stress restoration parameter and depth, effectively characterizing the enhanced effect of stress restoration and reconstruction methods on the elastic modulus of conventional cores at different depths. The in-situ pore pressurepreserved test exhibits lower peak stress and peak strain compared to the other three tests, and sandstone subjected to non-uniform pore pressure is more prone to plastic damage and failure. Moreover, the influence of non-uniform pore pressure on peak strength gradually diminished with increasing depth. | Hongwei Zhou Mingyuan Lu Heping Xie Wenhao Jia Ruidong Peng Yimeng Wang Bocen Chen Pengfei Jing | 2023 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,11: | 0
Biofilm inhibition mechanism of BiVO inserted zinc matrix in marine isolated bacteria显示文摘Biofilm plays an important role on microbial corrosion and biofouling in marine environments.Inhibiting biofilm formation on construction surfaces is of great importance.Photocatalytic material with visiblelight response, especially BiVO_(4),is regarded as a promising material for biofilm inhibition due to its green biocidal effect and high antibacterial efficiency.Approaches which can immobilize the photocatalytic particles onto metal surfaces with high mechanical strength are requisite. In this study, zinc matrixes were served as carriers for BiVO_(4)particles.The BiVO_(4)-inserted zinc matrixes were successfully obtained by ultrasound assisted electrodeposition. The insertion content of BiVO_(4)showed positive correlation with ultrasound power.Highly enhanced biofilm inhibition properties were obtained by BiVO_(4)inserted zinc·matrixes with an over 95%decreased bacterial coverage. It was proved that O2-(chief)andOH(subordinate)radicals were responsible for the high biocidal performance.Possible antibacterial mechanism was proposed, indicating that the photoinduced holes would both attack zinc crystals to generate active electrons to form O2-radicals,and react with H2 O to generate·OH,finally.Furthermore, corrosion resistance of the matrixes was proved to be stable due to the insertion of BiVO_(4).This study provides a potential application for photocatalyst in marine antifouling and anti-biocorrosion aspects. | Xiaofan Zhai Peng JU Fang Guan Jizhou Duan Nan Wang Yimeng Zhang Ke Li Baorong Hou | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,16: | 0
Emerging role of ubiquitination/deubiquitination modification of PD-1/PD-L1 in cancer immunotherapy显示文摘As members of the immune checkpoint family, PD-1 and its ligand PD-L1 play critical roles in maintaining the balance between autoimmunity and tolerance. The interaction of PD-1/PD-L1 is also involved in tumor evasion inside the tumor microenvironment, caused by reduced T cell activation, proliferation, cytotoxic secretion, and survival. Previous research has shown that the expression level of PD-1/PD-L1 may be regulated by ubiquitin-mediated proteasome degradation, which is an important mode of post-translational modification (PTM). PD-1/PD-L1 ubiquitin modification research in tumor immunotherapy is the subject of the present review, which aims to assess the most recent developments in this area. We offer a short explanation of PD-1/PD-L1 as well as some basic background information on the UPS system and discuss many routes that target E3s and DUBs, respectively, in the regulation of PD-1/PD-L1 in tumor immunotherapy. In addition, we offer numerous innovative prospective research areas for the future, as well as novel immunotherapy concepts and ideas. Taken together, the information compiled herein should serve as a comprehensive repository of information about tumor immunotherapy that is currently available, and it should be useful in the design of future studies, as well as the development of potential targets and strategies for future tumor immunotherapy. | Peng Ding Zhiqiang Ma Yizeng Fan Yingtong Feng Changjian Shao Minghong Pan Yimeng Zhang Di Huang Jing Han Yi Hu Xiaolong Yan | 2023 | Genes & Diseases2023,10,3: | 0
Ultra-high temperature tolerant flexible transparent electrode with embedded silver nanowires bundle micromesh for electrical heater显示文摘To realize high performance flexible transparent electronics with extreme environmental adaptivity,Ag nanowires(Ag NWs)electrodes should simultaneously meet the requirements of high-temperature tolerance, chemical and mechanical robustness.Herein,a scalable Ag NWs bundle micro-meshes embedded in polyimide(Ag BMs/ePI)conducting film via a facile spray coating and transfer method is reported.Due to the synergistic effect of bundle micromesh and embedded architecture, the Ag BMs/ePI electrode exhibits high thermal stability(370℃ and 400℃ under ambient and nitrogen atmosphere conditions, respectively),low sheet resistance variation(<4%),good corrosion and deformation resistance. As an electrical heater, the Ag BMs/ePI can achieve~204℃ with the fast thermal response time of~8 s at 8 V,and exhibits good heating stability under bent condition. This work offers a promising platform for the emerging flexible transparent electronics to adapt extreme environments, especially for those devices which require high-temperature processing. | Bowen Sun Ruixue Xu Xu Han Jing Xu Wang Hong Yimeng Xu Zhiwei Fu He Zhu Xin Sun Jiangxin Wang Peng Cui Jingjing Chang Jiaqing Xiong Kai Qian | 2022 | npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1: | 0

Application of a ddRT-PCR to quantify seasonal influenza virus for viral isolation显示文摘Viral isolation in cell cultures has been regarded for decades as the“gold standard”for the laboratory diagnosis of influenza viral infections. Not all viral strains could be isolated from clinical samples. This study aimed to quantify the viral load in the samples before isolation to save working time and improve working efficiency.Four hundred samples from patients with influenza-like cases were confirmed pdmH1N1 positive(200 cases)and B Victoria(BV)positive(200 cases)by whole-genome sequencing and analyzed by ddPCR for viral load in samples before isolation, and isolation results were verified by hemagglutination(HA)assay and hemagglutination-inhibition(HI)tests.Probit regression analysis was used to calculate the isolation viral load limit with a 95%probability level by SPSS 19.0 software. The results showed that the isolation limit of viral load was 4.9×10^(4)(95%CI:2.5×10^(4)–9.0×10^(4))copies/mL for pdmH1N1 and 1.9×10^(4)(95%CI:7.8×103–3.6×10^(4))copies/mL for BV.The isolation rate of clinical samples is positively correlated with the viral load in clinical samples, which can be used for viral culture, providing important guidance for daily work. | Yimeng Liu Jiachen Zhao Xiaomin Peng Guilan Lu Weixian Shi Zhaomin Feng Hui Xu Shujuan Cui Yang Pan Daitao Zhang Peng Yang Quanyi Wang | 2022 | Biosafety and Health2022,4,5: | 0
