2Production of thick-walled hollow glass microspheres for inertial confinement fusion targets by sol-gel technology显示文摘To fabricate thick-walled hollow glass microspheres(HGMs)for inertial confinement fusion(ICF)targets by sol-gel technology,we investigated the effects of glass composition,blowing agent,refining temperature,pressure and composition of furnace atmosphere on the wall thickness of HGMs by numerical simulation and experiments.The results showed that the residence times of the thick-walled HGMs in the encapsulating and refining phases decreased with the increase of wall thickness of HGMs.As a response to this challenge,glass composition must be optimized with the object of high surface tension and low viscosity at refining temperature,and the blowing agents with high decomposition temperature should be used,furthermore the concentration of blowing agents in gel particles must also be precisely controlled.The higher volume fraction of argon gas in the furnace atmosphere,the thicker the wall of HGMs.Due to the limited operating range of furnace atmosphere pressure,changing furnace atmosphere pressure could not significantly increase the wall thickness of HGMs.Although increasing refining temperature can improve the yield of high quality HGMs,a higher furnace atmosphere temperature may lead to a decrease in the wall thickness of HGMs.When the volume fraction of argon gas in the furnace atmosphere ranged from 80%to 95%,the furnace atmosphere pressure ranged from 1.0×105Pa to 1.25×105 Pa,and the refining temperature ranged from 1600°C to 1800°C,we produced thick-walled(5–10-m)HGMs with good sphericity,wall thickness uniformity and surface finish.However,the yield of high quality HGMs needs to be further improved.The compressive strength,tensile strength and permeation coefficient to deuterium gas of thick-walled HGMs at ambient temperature decreased with increase of the wall thickness.GAO Cong QI XiaoBo WEI Sheng ZHANG ZhanWen LI Bo SHI Tao CHU QiaoMei 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,9:6
3High discharged energy density of polymer nanocomposites induced by Nd-doped BaTiO_(3)nanoparticles显示文摘A flexible polymer nanocomposite has been developed via introducing Nd-doped BaTiO_(3)nanoparticles into the poly(vinylidene fluoride).This nanocomposite delivers a discharged energy density up to 12.5 J/cm^(3)under an electric field of 420 kV/mmwith only a small loading of 1 vol.%Nd-BaTiO_(3).High discharged energy density,mechanical flexibility,light weight,ease fabrication and low cost makes it attractive for advanced microelectronics and electrical power systems.Our results demonstrate that ceramics with giant dielectric permittivity as viable fillers for polymer nanocomposite dielectrics with higher energy density.Jing Wang Juntao Hu Lu Yang Kongjun Zhu Bao-Wen Li Qiaomei Sun Yanxin Li Jinhao Qiu 2018Journal of Materiomics2018,4,1:4
4Exhumation history of the Jiaodong and its adjacent areas since the Late Cretaceous:Constraints from low temperature thermochronology显示文摘The thermal history of the Jiaodong region and adjacent provinces(Shandong and northern Jiangsu) have been extensively studied,particularly by apatite fission track(AFT) dating.However,the AFT ages from surface outcrops range broadly and do not show an apparent relationship between age and elevation.This work provides a multiple low temperature thermochronological dataset including zircon and apatite(U-Th)/He ages(ZHe and AHe),and AFT ages from a 1000-m-deep borehole at the Jiaojia goldneld in the northwest of Jiaodong Peninsula.ZHe,AFT and AHe ages range from-100-70,-85-50and-65-50 Ma,respectively.These data conform to the principles of age vs.closure temperature and age vs.elevation and thus can be employed to estimate the exhumation history.Based on the density histogram of fission track length calculation,thermal history modeling,and previously published AFT ages from the Chinese Continental Science Drill program,this work concludes that compared to the AFT ages from surface outcrops,the low temperature thermochronological ages from the boreholes show a better relationship between age,elevation and closure temperature,and the age becomes younger with increasing depth.In addition,the exhumation history in the Jiaodong and adjacent areas can be divided into two distinct stages:a short,rapid tectonic exhumation(~100-95 Ma) and a long,slow exhumation since 95 Ma.The rate and amount of tectonic exhumation since 95 Ma are inferred as ~30 m Ma^(-1) and ~3 km,respectively.SUN HuaShan LI Huan LIU Liu CHEN QiaoMei YANG Hui WU Pan 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,3:3
5New progress in understanding the origins of modern humans in China显示文摘Hypotheses concerning the origins of modern humans have been intensively debated, and two competing models, the recent 'Out-of-Africa' and 'Multiregional Evolution' paradigms, have dominated research and discussions for decades. Evidence from China has played a fundamental role in this debate: regional continuity and replacement by populations in-migrated from Africa have both been suggested and supported mainly by paleoanthropologists and geneticists, respectively. As more evidence has accumulated, new results obtained, and more scholars from various disciplines become involved, supporters of the recent 'Out-of-Africa' model agree more or less with the 'Multiregional Evolution' model regarding the complex history of modern humans and their interbreeding with other archaic populations(e.g., Neandertals). Recent discoveries of new human fossils, Paleolithic archaeological materials, and ancient DNA evidence in China have yielded a large body of information regarding the formation and development of modern humans in this region. However, controversies continue, including that most molecular biologists insist on the replacement of archaic populations by modern humans dispersed from Africa, while most paleoanthropologists and archaeologists propose an enhanced 'Continuity with Hybridization' model. In this paper, we compile new results and progress in China and present the current debates and issues on the origins of modern humans. 7WRKY33-mediated indolic glucosinolate metabolic pathway confers resistance against Alternaria brassicicola in Arabidopsis and Brassica crops显示文摘The tryptophan(Trp)-derived plant secondary metabolites,including camalexin,4-hydroxyindole-3-carbonylnitrile,and indolic glucosinolate(IGS),show broad-spectrum antifungal activity.However,the distinct regulations of these metabolic pathways among different plant species in response to fungus infection are rarely studied.In this study,our results revealed that WRKY33 directly regulates IGS biosynthesis,notably the production of 4-methoxyindole-3-ylmethyl glucosinolate(4MI3G),conferring resistance to Alternaria brassicicola,an important pathogen which causes black spot in Brassica crops.WRKY33 directly activates the expression of CYP81F2,IGMT1,and IGMT2 to drive sidechain modification of indole-3-ylmethyl glucosinolate(I3G)to 4MI3G,in both Arabidopsis and Chinese kale(Brassica oleracea var.alboglabra Bailey).However,Chinese kale showed a more severe symptom than Arabidopsis when infected by Alternaria brassicicola.Comparative analyses of the origin and evolution of Trp metabolism indicate that the loss of camalexin biosynthesis in Brassica crops during evolution might attenuate the resistance of crops to Alternaria brassicicola.As a result,the IGS metabolic pathway mediated by WRKY33 becomes essential for Chinese kale to deter Alternaria brassicicola.Our results highlight the differential regulation of Trp-derived camalexin and IGS biosynthetic pathways in plant immunity between Arabidopsis and Brassica crops.Han Tao Huiying Miao Lili Chen Mengyu Wang Chuchu Xia Wei Zeng Bo Sun Fen Zhang Shuqun Zhang Chuanyou Li Qiaomei Wang 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,5:2
8Regulation of fruit ripening by the brassinosteroid biosynthetic gene SlCYP90B3 via an ethylenedependent pathway in tomato显示文摘The essential role of ethylene in fruit ripening has been thoroughly studied.However,the involvement of brassinosteroids(BRs)in the regulation of fruit ripening and their relationship with the ethylene pathway are poorly understood.In the current study,we found that BRs were actively synthesized during tomato fruit ripening.We then generated transgenic lines overexpressing or silencing SlCYP90B3,which encodes a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that catalyzes the rate-limiting step of BR synthesis.The expression level of SlCYP90B3 was positively related to the contents of bioactive BRs as well as the ripening process in tomato fruit,including enhanced softening and increased soluble sugar and flavor volatile contents.Both carotenoid accumulation and ethylene production were strongly correlated with the expression level of SlCYP90B3,corroborated by the altered expression of carotenoid biosynthetic genes as well as ethylene pathway genes in transgenic tomato fruits.However,the application of the ethylene perception inhibitor 1-methycyclopropene(1-MCP)abolished the promotion effect of SlCYP90B3 overexpression on carotenoid accumulation.Taken together,these results increase our understanding of the involvement of SlCYP90B3 in bioactive BR biosynthesis as well as fruit ripening in tomato,thus making SlCYP90B3 a target gene for improvement of visual,nutritional and flavor qualities of tomato fruits with no yield penalty.Songshen Hu Lihong Liu Shuo Li Zhiyong Shao Fanliang Meng Haoran Liu Wenyi Duan Dongyi Liang Changqing Zhu Tao Xu Qiaomei Wang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2

10Boosting lithium batteries under harsh operating conditions by a resilient ionogel with liquid-like ionic conductivity显示文摘New chemistries are being developed to increase the capacity and power of rechargeable batteries. However, the risk of safety issues increases when high-energy batteries using highly active materials encounter harsh operating conditions. Here we report on the synthesis of a unique ionogel electrolyte for abuse-tolerant lithium batteries. A hierarchically architected silica/polymer scaffold is designed and fabricated through a facile soft chemistry route, which is competent to confine ionic liquids with superior uptake ability (92.4 wt%). The monolithic ionogel exhibits high conductivity and thermal/mechanical stability, featuring high-temperature elastic modulus and dendrite-free lithium cycling. The Li/LiFePO_(4) pouch cells achieve outstanding cyclability at different temperatures up to 150 ℃, and can sustain cutting, crumpling, and even coupled thermal–mechanical abuses. Moreover, the solid-state lithium batteries with LiNi_(0.60)Co_(0.20)Mn_(0.20)O_(2), LiNi_(0.80)Co_(0.15)Al_(0.05)O_(2), and Li_(1.2)Mn_(0.54)Ni_(0.13)Co_(0.13)O_(2) cathodes demonstrate excellent cycle performances at 60 ℃. 11Mechanical-robust and recyclable polyimide substrates coordinated with cyclic Ti-oxo cluster for flexible organic solar cells显示文摘With the rapid development of flexible optoelectronic devices,recyclability is highly desirable for alleviating resource waste and environmental pollution,but remains challenging.Here,a fully closed-loop recyclable crosslinked polyimide(RCPI)was fabricated via carboxyl ligand exchange between the CPI with pendent carboxyl groups and the cyclic Ti-oxo cluster(CTOC)with labile carboxyl ligands,which could be reconverted into reprocessable CPI and CTOC solution by pivalic acid.The RCPI-based embedded AgNWs@RCPI electrode shows comparable high conductivity,transparency and low roughness with ITO(indium tin oxide)/glass electrode,and meanwhile outstanding mechanical robustness.The related flexible organic solar cells(FOSCs)provided a high efficiency of 14.78% and maintained~97% of the initial efficiency after 5000 bending cycles at a small bending radius of 1 mm.Moreover,the recyclability of the RCPI still retains after being manufactured into the FOSCs.This work provides a promising strategy for recyclable flexible optoelectronic devices.Guangcong Zhang Qiaomei Chen Chengcheng Xie Yongmei Wang Chaowei Zhao Chengyi Xiao Yen Wei Weiwei Li 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:1
12Maternal genetic history of southern East Asians over the past 12,000 years显示文摘Southern East Asia,including Guangxi and Fujian provinces in China,is home to diverse ethnic groups,languages,and cultures.Previous studies suggest a high complexity regarding population dynamics and the history of southern East Asians.However,large-scale genetic studies on ancient populations in this region are hindered by limited sample preservation.Here,using highly efficient DNA capture techniques,we obtain 48 complete mitochondrial genomes of individuals from Guangxi and Fujian in China and reconstruct their maternal genetic history over the past 12,000 years.We find a strong connection between southern East Asians dating to~12,000-6000 years ago and present-day Southeast Asians.In addition,stronger genetic affinities to northern East Asians are observed in historical southern East Asians than Neolithic southern East Asians,suggesting increased interactions between northern and southern East Asians over time.Overall,we reveal dynamic connections between ancient southern East Asians and populations located in surrounding regions,as well as a shift in maternal genetic structure within the populations over time.Yalin Liu Tianyi Wang Xichao Wu Xuechun Fan Wei Wang Guangmao Xie Zhen Li Qingping Yang Peng Cao Ruowei Yang Feng Liu Qingyan Dai Xiaotian Feng Wanjing Ping Bo Miao Yun Wu Yichen Liu Qiaomei Fu 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,10:1

17Enhancing the HSV-1-mediated antitumor immune response by suppressing Bach1显示文摘Background In 2015,herpes simplex virus 1(HSV-1)-derived talimogene laherparepvec(T-VEC)was the first oncolytic virus approved by the US Food and Drug Administration as a therapeutic agent for cancer treatment.However,its antitumor application is limited to local treatment of melanoma,and there is a lack of understanding of the mechanisms underlying the regulation of HSV-1 replication in cancer cells and the associated antitumor immunity.We hypothesized that increasing the replication capacity of HSV-1 in tumor cells would enhance the antitumor effect of this virus.Methods We systematically identified IFN-stimulated genes induced by HSV-1 by performing functional screens and clarified the mechanism by which BACH1 acts against HSV-1.Then,we tested the effect of BACH1 deficiency on immunogenic cell death induced by HSV-1.Furthermore,we investigated the antitumor effect of BACH1 deficiency on HSV-1 in MCA205 and B16 murine tumor models.Results We identified eight IFN-stimulated genes(ISGs)controlling HSV-1 replication,among which BTB and CNC homology 1(BACH1)suppressed HSV-1 replication by inhibiting the transcription of ICP4,ICP27,and UL39.Loss of Bach1 function not only increased HSV-1 proliferation but also promoted HSV-1-induced cell apoptosis,HMGB1 secretion,and calreticulin exposure in tumor cells.More importantly,hemin,an FDA-approved drug known to downregulate BACH1,significantly enhanced HSV-1-mediated antitumor activity with increased T lymphocyte infiltration at the tumor site.Conclusions Our studies uncovered a novel antiviral activity of BACH1 and provided a new strategy for improving the clinical efficiency of the oncolytic virus HSV-1.Chaohu Pan Qiaomei Cai Xiaorong Li Lili Li Liping Yang Yu Chen Junxiao Liu Wancheng Liu Meiling Gao Tianqi Sui Xiaoyang Wang Huiming Fan Jiayin Ruan Yueyue Shi Saihua Chen Lucy S.Cheng Jiayong Liu Heng Yang Genhong Cheng 2022Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,4:0

19In-situ imaging of strain-induced enhancement of hydrogen evolution activity on the extruded MoO_(2)sheets显示文摘Strain engineering is a useful strategy for modifying the catalytic activity of electrocatalysts.However,in-situ visual characterization of the strain effect on the catalytic activity at nanoscale remains a huge challenge.Herein,we performed in-situ electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy(EC-STM)imaging measurements at the local strained regions of extruded singlecrystal molybdenum dioxide(MoO_(2))sheets with combination of current noise analysis(n-EC-STM).The intensity-enhanced noise was observed at the local strained region compared to the unstrained regions in the same frame,which reveals the positive effect of compressive strain on the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activity of MoO_(2)provided that the intensity of noise is positively correlated with catalytic HER Faradic current.Therefore,we clearly“see”the strain-induced enhancement of HER activity of MoO_(2)at nanoscale by means of noise visualization.This work extends the visual characterization of strain engineering in electrocatalysis and related fields.Mansheng Liao Qiaomei Zhu Shuhua Li Qiongqiong Li Ziting Tao Yongchun Fu 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
