1Sodium oligomannate therapeutically remodels gut microbiota and suppresses gut bacterial amino acids-shaped neuroinflammation to inhibit Alzheimer's disease progression显示文摘Recently,increasing evidence has suggested the association between gut dysbiosis and Alzheimer's disease(AD)progression,yet the role of gut microbiota in AD pathogenesis remains obscure.Herein,we provide a potential mechanistic link between gut microbiota dysbiosis and neuroinflammation in AD progression.Using AD mouse models,we discovered that,during AD progression,the alteration of gut microbiota composition leads to the peripheral accumulation of phenylalanine and isoleucine,which stimulates the differentiation and proliferation of pro-inflammatory T helper 1(Thl)cells.The brain-infiltrated peripheral Th1 immune cells are associated with the Ml microglia aaivation,contributing to AD-associated neuroinflammation.Importantly,the elevation of phenylalanine and isoleucine concentrations and the increase of Th1 cell frequency in the blood were also observed in two small independent cohorts of patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI)due to AD.Furthermore,GV-971,a sodium oligomannate that has demonstrated solid and consistent cognition improvement in a phase 3 clinical trial in China,suppresses gut dysbiosis and the associated phenylalanine/isoleucine accumulation,harnesses neuroinflammation and reverses the cognition impairment.Together,our findings highlight the role of gut dysbiosis-promoted neuroinflammation in AD progression and suggest a novel strategy for AD therapy by remodelling the gut microbiota.Xinyi Wang Guangqiang Sun Teng Feng Jing Zhang Xun Huang Tao Wang Zuoquan Xie Xingkun Chu Jun Yang Huan Wang Shuaishuai Chang Yanxue Gong Lingfei Ruan Guanqun Zhang Siyuan Yan Wen Lian Chen Du Dabing Yang Qingli Zhang Feifei Lin Jia Liu Haiyan Zhang Changrong Ge Shifu Xiao Jian Ding Meiyu Geng 2019Cell Research2019,29,10:192
2Correlation of E-selectin gene polymorphisms with risk of ischemic stroke A meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the association of E-selectin S128R polymorphisms with ischemic stroke. DATA SOURCES: A computer-based online search was conducted in PubMed, Elsevier, Ovid Database, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang Database between January 1998 and December 2010. STUDY SELECTION: Case-controlled studies addressing the association of the E-selectin polymorphism and ischemic stroke were included in this review. The genotype distribution complied with the Hardy-Weinberg genetic equilibrium. The included reports were evaluated by two authors for strict quality screening. Meta-analysis software, REVMAN 5.1, was used to investigate heterogeneity, pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) in individual studies. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Genotype and allele distributions at the E-selectin S128R site. RESULTS: Six case-controlled studies were included after screening and application of inclusion and exclusion criteria. There was no heterogeneity in the genotype and allele frequencies, and no publication bias was found. Meta-analysis of the pooled data showed that the OR value of the (AC+CC)/AA genotype was 1.93 (95% CI: 1.55-2.41, Z = 5.80, P < 0.000 01), and the OR for the C/A allele was 1.80 (95% CI: 1.47-2.22, Z = 5.59, P < 0.000 01) in the ischemic stroke group, compared with control group. Results of pooled data in Chinese subjects showed that the OR value of (AC+CC)/AA was 2.36 (95% CI: 1.68-3.31, Z = 4.99, P < 0.000 01), and the OR value of the C/A allele was 2.25 (95% CI: 1.63-3.12, Z = 4.89, P < 0.000 01). 3Segregation during crystal growth from melt and absorption cross section determination by optical absorption method显示文摘Segregation during crystal growth from melt under two conditions is studied by using crystal mass,which can be measured easily,as an independent variable,and a method to determine the effective segregation coefficient and absorption cross section of optical dopant is given.When the segregated solute disperses into the whole or just a part of melt homogenously,the concentration CS in solid interface will change by different formulas.If the crystal growth interface is conical and segregated solute disperses into melt in total or part,the solute concentration at r=2/3R,where r is the distance from the growth cross section center and R the crystal radius,is independent on the shape of the crystal growth interface,and its variation at r=2/3R can be regarded as the result from crystal growth in flat interface.With CS variation formula in solid and absorption cross section σ for optical dopant,the absorption coefficients along the crystal growth direction can be calculated,and the corresponding experimental value can be obtained through the crystal optical absorption spectra.By minimizing the half sum,whose independent variables are k,ΔW or σ,of the difference square between the calculated and experimental absorp-tion coefficients from one or more absorption peaks along the crystal growth di-rection,k and σ,or k and ΔW,can be determined at the same time through the Levenberg-Marquardt iteration method.Finally,the effective segregation coefficient k,ΔW and absorption cross sections of Nd:GGG were determined,the results fitted by two formula gave more closed effective segregation coefficient,and the value ΔW also indicates that the segregated dopant had nearly dispersed into the whole melt.Experimental results show that the method to determine effective segregation coefficient k,ΔW and absorption cross sections σ is convenient and reliable,and the two segregation formulas can describe the segregation during the crystal growth from melt relatively commendably.ZHANG QingLi YIN ShaoTang SUN DunLu WAN SongMing 2008Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,5:5

5Protection of Immuno-Compromised Mice from Lethal Infection of Klebsiella pneumonia by rAAV2-BPI23-Fcγ1 Gene Transfer显示文摘In previous research, chimerical BPI23-Fcγ1 gene which consisted of human bactericidal/permeability increasing protein (BPI) gene of encoding the functional N terminus (amino acid residues 1 to 199) of human BPI and Fcγ1 gene of encoding the Fc segment of human immunoglobulin G1 was successfully reconstructed within a recombinant adeno-associated virus serotype 2 (rAAV2) vector as rAAV2-BPI23-Fcγ1. Here, to evaluate the potentiality of applying gene therapy to gram negative bacterial (GNB) infection in high-risk patients, we investigated protection of immuno-compromised mice and immunocompetent mice from challenge with minimal lethal dose (MLD) Klebsiella pneumonia infection after rAAV2-BPI23-Fcγ1 gene transferred. The results showed that the survival rate of rAAV2-BPI23-Fcγ1 transferred immunocompetent mice as well as immuno-compromised mice (40.0% and 44.4%, respectively) were significantly higher than that of corresponding control mice (6.7% and 4.4%, respectively); the bacteria counting, level of endotoxin and proinflammatory cytokines in the rAAV2-BPI23- Fcγ1 transferred immuno-compromised mice were markedly lower than that of rAAV2-EGFP and rAAV2-Null transferred immuno-compromised mice. 8Estrogen receptor gene polymorphism in a Chinese population with multiple sclerosis显示文摘This study sought to elucidate the role of the PvuII and XbaI polymorphisms of the estrogen receptor gene in 74 Chinese patients with multiple sclerosis, and 95 ethnicity-matched controls, using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment-length polymorphism analysis. The results revealed that the P allele of PvuII was significantly more prevalent in multiple sclerosis patients compared with controls (P = 0.019). While distribution frequencies were significantly increased in female multiple sclerosis patients compared with female controls (P = 0.044), no significant difference was observed between male patients and controls (P > 0.05). Frequencies of Ppxx genotypes were significantly higher in multiple sclerosis patients compared with controls (24.3% vs. 12.8%, P = 0.025). Genotypes and alleles of the estrogen receptor were not associated with age, number of attacks or expanded disability status scale scores of patients with multiple sclerosis. These findings indicate that the PvuII but not the XbaI polymorphism in the estrogen receptor gene is associated with susceptibility to multiple sclerosis in the Chinese population. 10Optical properties of Nd^(3+) ions doped GdTaO_(4) for pressure and temperature sensing显示文摘Pressure-and temperature-dependent luminescence properties of ^(3)F_(3/2)→^(4)I9/2 transition of Nd^(3+):GdTaO_(4) were studied for potential applications in optical sensing.Two isolated emission lines corresponding to^(3)F_(3/2)(R2,1)→^(4)I_(9/2)(Z5)transitions,located at 920 and 927 nm under ambient condition,are very sensitive to pressure with coefficients of-15.6 and-14.5 cm^(-1)/GPa determined in a pressure range up to about 9 GPa.The luminescence intensity ratio between the two emission lines exhibits a large dependence with temperature in a range from 80 to 620 K,the corresponding temperature sensitivity at room temperature is similar to that of Nd^(3+):YAG.These advantages,together with the other observed features of high stable position relationship under pressure and low thermal shifts for the two emission lines indicate that Nd^(3+):GdTaO_(4) is a promising candidate to be used as pressure and temperature sensors in the near-infrared spectral range.Pengyu Zhou Qingli Zhang Fang Peng Baoquan Sun Xiuming Dou Bao Liu Dandan Han Yongzhou Xue Kun Ding 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,6:1

12Study on Lattice Parameter Variance and Eutectic Reaction during Crystal Growth of Nd,Cr∶GSGG by Czochralksi Method显示文摘During the crystal growth of Nd, Cr∶GSGG by Czochralski method, in some cases eutectic reaction occurred in the nether region of the crystal, and the boule was divided into two obvious different parts, which is upper Nd,Cr∶GSGG crystal and the nether coexisting Nd,Cr∶GSGG and GdScO3. By X-ray powder diffraction, the structure change of NdCr∶GSGG crystal of Φ 27 mm×120 mm with eutectic along its grown direction <111> was studied. By the least square method and extrapolation function f=sinθ-sinθ1-t(t is an adjustable parameter), the lattice parameters of Nd,Cr∶GSGG and additional GdScO3 phase were computed. The results indicate that the lattice parameters of Nd,Cr∶GSGG increase along its growth direction, which changes from a=(1.25650±0.00007) nm of the top to (1.25798±0.00010) nm of the bottom. In the process of Nd,Cr∶GSGG growth, Gd3+ in Nd,Cr∶GSGG is partly replaced by Nd3+ with larger ionic radii, and the volatilization of Ga component results in its composition variance, which cause the lattice parameters increase along growth direction. In the eutectic section, there are the Nd,Cr∶GSGG and the second phase orthorhombic GdScO3. The lattice parameters of GdScO3 are a=0.5443±0.0007, b=0.5699±0.0005 and c=(0.7865±0.0009) nm, and that of Nd,Cr∶GSGG is (1.25798±0.00010) nm. In the final growth stage, excessive volatilization of Ga composition during the crystal growth causes the growth melt deflect of the Nd,Cr∶GSGG solid solution range seriously, and results in the eutectic reaction, and the outgrowth of Nd,Cr∶GSGG and GdScO3. 13Lattice Parameter Change of Nd∶Gd3Ga5O12 Crystal with Growth Direction显示文摘The lattice parameter change of Nd∶GGG crystal was studied by X-ray powder diffraction and the least square fitting method. The results indicate that the lattice parameters of Nd∶GGG increase along the crystal growth direction. By analyzing the Nd∶GGG crystal structure and ions occupying site, the reason of lattice parameter change is mainly attributed to the volatilization of gallium ingredient and lead to the Ga vacancy sites(Oxygen octahedral center) were occupied by Gd3+ with large ionic radii, and that the substitute increases with the crystal growth direction. In addition, the Gd sites(oxygen dodecahedron center) were occupied by dopant Nd3+ with large ionic radii and the Nd3+ distribution coefficient in GGG crystal is smaller than 1, therefore, the substitute also increased with the crystal growth direction, which is another reason led to the lattice parameter increase along the crystal growth direction. 15Indica rice spread to the Tibetan Plateau in the 700s CE显示文摘Asian cultivated rice(Oryza sativa)has two main subspecies,indica(O.sativa sub.indica)and japonica(O.sativa sub.japonica).Japonica rice was domesticated in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China,while indica appeared around 4000 a BP in northern south Asia after hybridization between introduced japonica and indigenous proto-indica.When and how indica rice spread into China is still barely understood,although it is cultivated widely in southern China today.Here we report on the earliest,definite indica rice remains in China,including charred seeds,phytoliths,and ancient DNA,from the newly investigated Kongsangqiao site at an elevation of 2676 m above sea level in Tibet,along with a charcoal study that reveals the vegetation and climate during of human occupation.AMS radiocarbon dating of charred indica rice grains suggests the remains are from the 8th century(700s CE).The dominant identified charcoal fragments are Himalayan pine(Pinus wallichiana),from which a rather cold climate is inferred where indica rice could not be grown in situ,suggesting it was likely brought to the site.Both archaeological and literature records thus support that indica rice,fully domesticated in northern south Asia,had spread to the southern margin of the Tibetan Plateau via parts of the ancient Tang-Tubo Road,Tubo-Nepal Road,by at least the 8th century CE.Qingli SUN Qi YANG Yu GAO Zhengquan GU Jishuai YANG Shuzhi WANG Zhikun MA Yan TONG Xiaoyan YANG 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,12:0
