| 1 | Responses of Soil Microbial Community Structure and Diversity to Agricultural Deintensification显示文摘Using a scheme of agricultural fields with progressively less intensive management (deintensification), different manage- ment practices in six agroecosystems located near Goldsboro, NC, USA were tested in a large-scale experiment, including two cash-grain cropping systems employing either tillage (CT) or no-tillage (NT), an organic farming system (OR), an integrated cropping system with animals (IN), a successional field (SU), and a plantation woodlot (WO). Microbial phos- pholipid fatty acid (PLFA) profiles and substrate utilization patterns (BIOLOG ECO plates) were measured to examine the effects of deintensification on the structure and diversity of soil microbial communities. Principle component analyses of PLFA and BIOLOG data showed that the microbial community structure diverged among the soils of the six systems. Lower microbial diversity was found in lowly managed ecosystem than that in intensive and moderately managed agro- ecosystems, and both fungal contribution to the total identified PLFAs and the ratio of microbial biomass C/N increased along with agricultural deintensification. Significantly higher ratios of C/N (P < 0.05) were found in the WO and SU systems, and for fungal/bacterial PLFAs in the WO system (P < 0.05). There were also significant decreases (P < 0.05) along with agricultural deintensification for contributions of total bacterial and gram positive (G+) bacterial PLFAs. | 3 | Morphologies of Al_4Sr Intermetallic Phase and Its Modification Property upon A356 Alloys显示文摘In general,the modification performance of Al-Sr master alloys is primarily dependent upon the morphologies and sizes of the Al_4Sr intermetallic phase.In this paper,the crystal structure,morphologies,sizes,hardness and elastic modulus of Al_4Sr in Al-Sr master alloys prepared from variant processes were studied by means of optical metallurgical microscope,X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and nanoindentation system.The results revealed that the microstructures and modification performance of the Al_4Sr phase were related to the preparation processes.That is to say,when a 'direct reaction-hot extrusion' process was used,the Al_4Sr phase exhibited a homogeneous distribution in the Al matrix with small size and roundish shapes,which ensured the Al-Sr master alloy wire advantages involving high recovery,good reproducibility,no delitescence of modification,no corrosion on equipments,and good workability.However,in the case of the traditional 'direct reaction' process,the Al4Sr phase was in large size with shapes of rectangular stripe and plates,which limited the Sr content increasing due to the brittleness of the Al-Sr alloy.It was also found that the morphology and size of the Al_4Sr phases changed during heat treatment at high temperature up to 600 ℃. | Chengwei Liao Jianchun Chun Yang Li Rui Tu Chunxu Pan | 2012 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,6: | 7 |

| 7 | Durable endothelium-mimicking coating for surface bioengineering cardiovascular stents显示文摘Mimicking the nitric oxide(NO)-release and glycocalyx functions of native vascular endothelium on cardiovascular stent surfaces has been demonstrated to reduce in-stent restenosis(ISR)effectively.However,the practical performance of such an endothelium-mimicking surfaces is strictly limited by the durability of both NO release and bioactivity of the glycocalyx component.Herein,we present a mussel-inspired amine-bearing adhesive coating able to firmly tether the NO-generating species(e.g.,Cu-DOTA coordination complex)and glycocalyx-like component(e.g.,heparin)to create a durable endothelium-mimicking surface.The stent surface was firstly coated with polydopamine(pDA),followed by a surface chemical cross-link with polyamine(pAM)to form a durable pAMDA coating.Using a stepwise grafting strategy,Cu-DOTA and heparin were covalently grafted on the pAMDA-coated stent based on carbodiimide chemistry.Owing to both the high chemical stability of the pAMDA coating and covalent immobilization manner of the molecules,this proposed strategy could provide 62.4%bioactivity retention ratio of heparin,meanwhile persistently generate NO at physiological level from 5.9±0.3 to 4.8±0.4×10^(-10) mol cm^(-2) min^(-1) in 1 month.As a result,the functionalized vascular stent showed long-term endothelium-mimicking physiological effects on inhibition of thrombosis,inflammation,and intimal hyperplasia,enhanced re-endothelialization,and hence efficiently reduced ISR. | Qing Ma Xiuying Shi Xing Tan Rui Wang Kaiqin Xiong Manfred F.Maitz Yuanyuan Cui Zhangmei Hu Qiufen Tu Nan Huang Li Shen Zhilu Yang | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,12: | 3 |

| 14 | Quantitative proteomics revealed extensive microenvironmental changes after stem cell transplantation in ischemic stroke显示文摘The local microenvironment is essential to stem cell-based therapy for ischemic stroke,and spatiotemporal changes of the microenvironment in the pathological process provide vital clues for understanding the therapeutic mechanisms.However,relevant studies on microenvironmental changes were mainly confined in the acute phase of stroke,and long-term changes remain unclear.This study aimed to investigate the microenvironmental changes in the subacute and chronic phases of ischemic stroke after stem cell transplantation.Herein,induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)and neural stem cells(NSCs)were transplanted into the ischemic brain established by middle cerebral artery occlusion surgery.Positron emission tomography imaging and neurological tests were applied to evaluate the metabolic and neurofunctional alterations of rats transplanted with stem cells.Quantitative proteomics was employed to investigate the protein expression profiles in iPSCs-transplanted brain in the subacute and chronic phases of stroke.Compared with NSCs-transplanted rats,significantly increased glucose metabolism and neurofunctional scores were observed in iPSCs-transplanted rats.Subsequent proteomic data of iPSCs-transplanted rats identified a total of 39 differentially expressed proteins in the subacute and chronic phases,which are involved in various ischemic stroke-related biological processes,including neuronal survival,axonal remodeling,antioxidative stress,and mitochondrial function restoration.Taken together,our study indicated that iPSCs have a positive therapeutic effect in ischemic stroke and emphasized the wide-ranging microenvironmental changes in the subacute and chronic phases. | Yao Chen Fahuan Song Mengjiao Tu Shuang Wu Xiao He Hao Liu Caiyun Xu Kai Zhang Yuankai Zhu Rui Zhou Chentao Jin Ping Wang Hong Zhang Mei Tian | 2022 | Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,3: | 1 |
