| 1 | Influence of floc dynamic protection layer on alleviating ultrafiltration membrane fouling induced by humic substances显示文摘Cake layer formation is inevitable over time for ultrafiltration(UF)membrane-based drinking water treatment.Although the cake layer is always considered to cause membrane fouling,it can also act as a'dynamic protection layer',as it further adsorbs pollutants and dramatically reduces their chance of getting to the membrane surface.Here,the UF membrane fouling performance was investigated with pre-deposited loose flocs in the presence of humic acid(HA).The results showed that the floc dynamic protection layer played an important role in removing HA.The higher the solution pH,the more negative the floc charge,resulting in lower HA removal efficiency due to the electrostatic repulsion and large pore size of the floc layer.With decreasing solution pH,a positively charged floc dynamic protection layer was formed,and more HA molecules were adsorbed.The potential reasons were ascribed to the smaller floc size,greater positive charge,and higher roughness of the floc layer.However,similar membrane fouling performance was also observed for the negative and positive floc dynamic protection layers due to their strong looseness characteristics.In addition,the molecular weight(MW)distribution of HA also played an important role in UF membrane fouling behavior.For the small MW HA molecules,the chance of forming a loose cake layer was high with a negatively charged floc dynamic protection layer,while for the large MW HA molecules it was high with a positively charged floc dynamic protection layer.As a result,slight UF membrane fouling was induced. | Baiwen Ma Siqi Wu Bodong Wang Zenglu Qi Yaohui Bai Huijuan Liu Jiuhui Qu Ruijun Wu | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,4: | 2 |

| 4 | Facile fabrication of amphoteric semi-interpenetrating network membranes for vanadium flow battery applications显示文摘For improvement of vanadium redox flow battery(VRB) performance, novel amphoteric semiinterpenetrating membranes(ASIPN) were prepared using poly(ether ether ketone)(PEEK) and polysulfone(PSf), the former bearing sulfonic groups and the latter imidazolium. These two groups form ionic crosslinks between PEEK and PSf; meanwhile, covalent cross links were built between PSf chains with addition of N-(3-aminopropyl)-imidazole. The amphoteric nature of the membrane allows facile proton and anion transport; the IPN structure and the presence of imidazolium cation effectively suppress vanadium ion crossover through the membrane. Therefore, the ASIPN based VRBs show higher Coulombic efficiency and energy efficiency than that assembled with pristine SPEEK and Nafion 212 membranes. | 7 | Eco-friendly non-acid intercalation and exfoliation of graphite to graphene nanosheets in the binary-peroxidant system for EMI shielding显示文摘The development of the preparation strategy for high-quality and large-size graphene via eco-friendly routes is still a challenging issue.Herein,we have successfully developed a novel route to chemically exfoliate natural graphite into high-quality and large-size graphene in a binary-peroxidant system.This system is composed of urea peroxide(CO(NH_(2))_(2)·H_(2)O_(2))and hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2)),where CO(NH_(2))_(2)·H_(2)O_(2)is used in preparing graphene for the first time.Benefiting from the complete decomposition of CO(NH_(2))_(2)·H_(2)O_(2)and H_(2)O_(2)into gaseous species under microwave(MW)irradiation,no water-washing and effluent-treatment are needed in this chemical exfoliation procedure,thus the preparation of graphene in an eco-friendly way is realized.The resultant graphene behaves a large-size,high-quality and few-layer feature with a yield of~100%.Then 4µm-thick ultrathin graphene paper fabricated from the as-exfoliated graphene is used as an electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding material.And its absolute effectiveness of EMI shielding(SSE/t)is up to 34,176.9 dB cm^(2)/g,which is,to the best of our knowledge,among the highest values so far reported for typical EMI shielding materials.The EMI shielding performance demonstrates a great application potential of graphene paper in meeting the ever-increasingly EMI shielding demands in miniaturized electronic devices. | Ping Wang Bin Guo Zhi Zhang Weinan Gao Wei Zhou Huaxin Ma Wenyu Wu Junfeng Han Ruijun Zhang | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,11: | 1 |
| 8 | Upgrading Siberian(Russia)crude oil by hydrodesulfurization in a slurry reactor:A kinetic study显示文摘Hydrodesulfurization(HDS)of sour crude oil is an effective way to address the corrosion problems in refineries,and is an economic way to process sour crude oil in an existing refinery built for sweet oil.In the current study,the HDS of Siberian crude oil was carried out in a slurry reactor.The Co-Mo,Ni-Mo,and Ni-W catalysts supported onγ-Al2O3 were compared at the temperature of 340℃ and the pressure of 4.5 MPa.The HDS activity follows the order of Co-Mo N Ni-Mo N Ni-Wat a high concentration of H2S,and the difference between Co-Mo and Ni-Mo becomes insignificant at a low concentration of H2S.The influence of reaction temperature 320-360℃ and reaction pressure 3-5.5 MPa was investigated,and both play a positive role in the HDS reaction.A kinetic model over Ni-Mo/Al2O3 in the slurry reactor was established.The activation energy is estimated as 60.34 kJ·mol−1;the orders of sulfur components and hydrogen partial pressure are 1.43 and 1.30,respectively.The kinetic parameters are compared with those in a trickle-bed reactor,implying that the mass transfer is greatly enhanced in the slurry reactor.The back mixing effect is present in the slurry reactor and can be reduced by a multi-stage design,which would lead to higher reactor efficiency in industrial application. | Kening Sun Xixi Ma Qiuchen Yang Rui Qiu Ruijun Hou | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,12: | 1 |

| 14 | Upgrading Siberian(Russia) crude oil by hydrodesulfurization: Kinetic parameter estimation in a trickle-bed reactor显示文摘Hydrodesulfurization(HDS) of sour crude oil is an effective way to address the corrosion problems in refineries and is an economic way to process sour crude oil in an existing refinery built for sweet oil.Siberian crude oil transported through the Russia-China pipeline could be greatly sweetened and could be refined directly in local refinery designed for Daqing crude oil after the effective HDS treatment.In this study,the HDS of Siberian crude oil was carried out in a continuous flow isothermal trickle-bed reactor over Ni-Mo/γ-Al_2 O_(3).The effects of temperature,pressure and LHSV were investigated in the ranges of 320-360℃,3-5 MPa and 0.5-2 h^(-1),keeping constant hydrogen to oil ratio at 600 L·L^(-1).The HDS conversion could be up to 92.89% at the temperature of 360℃, pressure of 5 MPa,and LHSV of 0.5 h^(-1), which is sufficient for local refineries(>84%).A three phase heterogeneous model was established to analyze the performance of the trickle-bed reactor based on the two-film theory using Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism.The order of sulfur component is estimated as 1.28,and the order of hydrogen is 0.39.By simulating the reactor using the established model,the concentration of H_(2), H_(2) S and sulfur along the catalyst bed is discussed.The model is significantly useful for industrial application with respect to reactor analysis,optimization and reactor design,and can provide further insight of the HDS of Siberian crude oil. | Kening Sun Xixi Ma Ruijun Hou | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,1: | 0 |
