2Graphene oxide as an antimicrobial agent can extenCthe vase life of cut flowers显示文摘"PlantNanOmics" is an emerging topic in agricultural research that explores thepotential effect of application of nanomaterials on plant growth. Graphene oxide(GO) has excellent properties due to its basal carbon plane and oxygen-containingfunctional groups. In the present work, the antimicrobial activity of GO wasexploited to extend the vase life and improve the quality of cut roses (cv. Carola).The results revealed that the cut roses cultivated in low doses of GO (0.1 mg/L)had longer vase life, larger diameter, and better water relations. Microbialcontaminations at the basal stem end is the most common reason for stemblockage that causes water stress and early wilting of cut flowers. 3CitGVD:a comprehensive database of citrus genomic variations显示文摘Citrus is one of the most important commercial fruit crops worldwide.With the vast genomic data currently available for citrus fruit,genetic relationships,and molecular markers can be assessed for the development of molecular breeding and genomic selection strategies.In this study,to permit the ease of access to these data,a web-based database,the citrus genomic variation database(CitGVD,http://gffzz1758061741e3440chkxpvx50xqwqb665u.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/home)was developed as the first citrusspecific comprehensive database dedicated to genome-wide variations including single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)and insertions/deletions(INDELs).The current version(V1.0.0)of CitGVD is an open-access resource centered on 1,493,258,964 high-quality genomic variations and 84 phenotypes of 346 organisms curated from in-house projects and public resources.CitGVD integrates closely related information on genomic variation annotations,related gene annotations,and details regarding the organisms,incorporating a variety of built-in tools for data accession and analysis.As an example,CitGWAS can be used for genome-wide association studies(GWASs)with SNPs and phenotypic data,while CitEVOL can be used for genetic structure analysis.These features make CitGVD a comprehensive web portal and bioinformatics platform for citrus-related studies.It also provides a model for analyzing genome-wide variations for a wide range of crop varieties.Qiang Li Jingjing Qi Xiujuan Qin Wanfu Dou Tiangang Lei Anhua Hu Ruirui Jia Guojin Jiang Xiuping Zou Qin Long Lanzhen Xu Aihong Peng Lixiao Yao Shanchun Chen Yongrui He 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:4
4Nest-like multilevel structured graphene oxide-on-polyacrylonitrile membranes for highly efficient filtration of ultrafine particles显示文摘Developing filtration media for particulate matter(PM)removal has been proven to be extremely challenging.Here,we report a facile and scalable strategy to fabricate a multi-level structured polyacrylonitrile/graphene oxide(PAN/GO)air filtration membrane to remove ultrafine particles in air by combining multi-jet electrospinning and physical bonding.Our approach allows the thin PAN nanofibers and two-dimensional GO nanosheets to form interpenetrating bonding structures on non-woven fabric and to assemble into stable filtration media.The resultant composite membranes can filtrate 300 nm particles with a high removal efficiency of 98.8%,a low pressure drop of 55 Pa,and a desirable quality factor of 0.34 Pa^(-1).This multi-level PAN/GO filter is expected to have wider applications not only for the ultrafine particle filtration and separation but also for the design of three-dimensional functional structures in the future.Jing Li Danzhen Zhang Xin Jiang Xuanliang Zhao Ruirui Hu Yujia Zhong Hongwei Zhu 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,3:4

6MALE STERILITY 3 encodes a plant homeodomain-finger protein for male fertility in soybean显示文摘Male-sterile plants are used in hybrid breeding to improve yield in soybean(Glycine max(L.)Merr.).Developing the capability to alter fertility under different environmental conditions could broaden germplasm resources and simplify hybrid production.However,molecular mechanisms potentially underlying such a system in soybean were unclear.Here,using positional cloning,we identified a gene,MALE STERILITY 3(MS3),which encodes a nuclear-localized protein containing a plant homeodomain(PHD)-finger domain.A spontaneous mutation in ms3 causing premature termination of MS3 translation and partial loss of the PHD-finger.Transgenetic analysis indicated that MS3 knockout resulted in nonfunctional pollen and no selfpollinated pods,and RNA-seq analysis revealed that MS3 affects the expression of genes associated with carbohydrate metabolism.Strikingly,the fertility of mutant ms3 can restore under longd conditions.The mutant could thus be used to create a new,more stable photoperiod-sensitive genic male sterility line for two-line hybrid seed production,with significant impact on hybrid breeding and production.Jingjing Hou Weiwei Fan Ruirui Ma Bing Li Zhihui Yuan Wenxuan Huang Yueying Wu Quan Hu Chunjing Lin Xingqi Zhao Bao Peng Limei Zhao Chunbao Zhang Lianjun Sun 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,5:1

8DOCK2 regulates antifungal immunity by regulating RAC GTPase activity显示文摘Fungal infections cause~1.5 million deaths each year worldwide,and the mortality rate of disseminated candidiasis currently exceeds that of breast cancer and malaria.The major reasons for the high mortality of candidiasis are the limited number of antifungal drugs and the emergence of drug-resistant species.Therefore,a better understanding of antifungal host defense mechanisms is crucial for the development of effective preventive and therapeutic strategies.Here,we report that DOCK2(dedicator of cytokinesis 2)promotes indispensable antifungal innate immune signaling and proinflammatory gene expression in macrophages.DOCK2-deficient macrophages exhibit decreased RAC GTPase(Rac family small GTPase)activation and ROS(reactive oxygen species)production,which in turn attenuates the killing of intracellular fungi and the activation of downstream signaling pathways.Mechanistically,after fungal stimulation,activated SYK(spleen-associated tyrosine kinase)phosphorylates DOCK2 at tyrosine 985 and 1405,which promotes the recruitment and activation of RAC GTPases and then increases ROS production and downstream signaling activation.Importantly,nanoparticle-mediated delivery of in vitro transcribed(IVT)Rac1 mRNA promotes the activity of Rac1 and helps to eliminate fungal infection in vivo.Taken together,this study not only identifies a critical role of DOCK2 in antifungal immunity via regulation of RAC GTPase activity but also provides proof of concept for the treatment of invasive fungal infections by using IVT mRNA.Xiaojian Ma Xi Tan Bingbing Yu Wanwei Sun Heping Wang Huijun Hu Yanyun Du Ruirui He Ru Gao Qianwen Peng Zhihui Cui Ting Pan Xiong Feng Junhan Wang Chengqi Xu Bin Zhu Wei Liu Chenhui Wang 2022Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,5:1

11Construction of Human Digital Twin Model Based on Multimodal Data and Its Application in Locomotion Mode Identifcation显示文摘With the increasing attention to the state and role of people in intelligent manufacturing, there is a strong demand for human-cyber-physical systems (HCPS) that focus on human-robot interaction. The existing intelligent manufacturing system cannot satisfy efcient human-robot collaborative work. However, unlike machines equipped with sensors, human characteristic information is difcult to be perceived and digitized instantly. In view of the high complexity and uncertainty of the human body, this paper proposes a framework for building a human digital twin (HDT) model based on multimodal data and expounds on the key technologies. Data acquisition system is built to dynamically acquire and update the body state data and physiological data of the human body and realize the digital expression of multi-source heterogeneous human body information. A bidirectional long short-term memory and convolutional neural network (BiLSTM-CNN) based network is devised to fuse multimodal human data and extract the spatiotemporal features, and the human locomotion mode identifcation is taken as an application case. A series of optimization experiments are carried out to improve the performance of the proposed BiLSTM-CNN-based network model. The proposed model is compared with traditional locomotion mode identifcation models. 12A reference-grade genome assembly for Astragalus mongholicus and insights into the biosynthesis and high accumulation of triterpenoids and flavonoids in its roots显示文摘Astragalus membranaceus var.mongholicus(AMM),a member of the Leguminosae,is one of the most important medicinal plants worldwide.The dried roots of AMM have a wide range of pharmacological effects and are a traditional Chinese medicine.Here,we report the first chromosome-level reference genome of AMM,comprising nine pseudochromosomes with a total size of 1.47 Gb and 27868 protein-encoding genes.Comparative genomic analysis reveals that AMM has not experienced an independent wholegenome duplication(WGD)event after the WGD event shared by the Papilionoideae species.Analysis of long terminal repeat retrotransposons suggests a recent burst of these elements at approximately 0.13 million years ago,which may explain the large size of the AMM genome.Multiple gene families involved in the biosynthesis of triterpenoids and flavonoids were expanded,and our data indicate that tandemduplication has been the main driver for expansion of these families.Among the expanded families,the phenylalanine ammonia-lyase gene family was primarily expressed in the roots of AMM,suggesting their roles in the biosynthesis of phenylpropanoid compounds.The functional versatility of 2,3-oxidosqualene cyclase genes in cluster Ⅲ may play a critical role in the diversification of triterpenoids in AMM.Our findings provide novel insights into triterpenoid and flavonoid biosynthesis and can facilitate future research on the genetics and medical applications of AMM.Yi Chen Ting Fang He Su Sifei Duan Ruirui Ma Ping Wang Lin Wu Wenbin Sun Qichen Hu Meixia Zhao Lianjun Sun Xuehui Dong 2023Plant Communications2023,4,2:0

15Transcriptome and carotenoid profiling of different varieties of Coffea arabica provides insights into fruit color formation显示文摘The processability and ultimate quality of coffee(Coffea arabica)are determined by the composition of the matured fruits.The basis of genetic variation in coffee fruit quality could be explained by studying color formation during fruit maturation.Transcriptome profiling was conducted on matured fruits of four C.arabica varieties(orange colored fruits(ORF);purple colored fruits(PF);red colored fruits(RF)and yellow colored fruits(YF))to identify key color-regulating genes,biosynthesis pathways and transcription factors implicated in fruit color formation.A total of 39,938 genes were identified in the transcriptomes of the four C.arabica varieties.In all,2745,781 and 1224 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were detected in YF_vs_PF,YF_vs_RF and YF_vs_ORF,respectively,with 1732 DEGs conserved among the three pairwise groups.Functional annotation of the DEGs led to the detection of 28 and 82 key genes involved in the biosynthesis of carotenoids and anthocyanins,respectively.Key transcription factors bHLH,MYB,NAC,MADS,and WRKY implicated in fruit color regulation were detected.The high expression levels of gene-LOC113688784(PSY),gene-LOC113730013(b-CHY),gene-LOC113728842(CCD7),gene-LOC113689681(NCED)and gene-LOC113729473(ABA2)in YF may have accounted for the yellow coloration.The differential expression of several anthocyanin and carotenoid-specific genes in the fruits substantially account for the purple(PF),red(RF),and orange(ORF)colorations.This study provides important insights into fruit color formation and variations in C.arabica and will help to develop coffee varieties with specific color and quality traits.Faguang Hu Xiaofei Bi Hongming Liu Xingfei Fu Yanan Li Yang Yang Xiaofang Zhang Ruirui Wu Guiping Li Yulan Lv Jiaxiong Huang Xinping Luo Rui Shi 2022Plant Diversity2022,44,3:0
