| 1 | Optical property and spectroscopy studies on the selected lubricating oil in the terahertz range显示文摘The optical property and spectroscopy of selected kinds of lubricating oil are studied based on the terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) in the spectral range of 0.3-1.6 THz. The samples are classified by their characteristics via the near-infrared spectrum. The experimental results reveal that lubricating oil is more sensitive in the range of terahertz than in the near-infrared,and the specific kinds of lubricating oil can be identified according to their different spectral features in the terahertz range. | 3 | Mullite Oxidation Resistant Coating for SiC-coated Carbon/Carbon Composites by Supersonic Plasma Spraying显示文摘To improve the oxidation resistance of carbon/carbon (C/C) composites, mullite coating was prepared on the surface of SiC-coated C/C composites by supersonic plasma spraying. Phases and microstructures of mullite coating were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The coating primarily consists of a single phase of mullite (3Al2O3-2SiO2). The SEM results show that mullite coating was continuous and well bonded with the SiC inner layer without penetrating crack. Mullite coating exhibited good oxidation resistance. | 4 | Chemical Synthesis of Proteins Containing 300 Amino Acids显示文摘Chemical synthesis of proteins containing up to 300 amino acids may cover 30%—50%of all the proteins encountered in biomedical studies and may provide an alternate approach to the usually used recombinant expression teclmology,vastly expanding the chemical space of the latter.In the present review article,we tried to survey the recent progresses made for more rapid synthesis of increasingly long peptides and more efficient ligation of multiple peptide segments.The developments of seminal methods by many research groups have greatly contributed to the recent breakthroughs in the successful total synthesis of a number of functionally important proteins,such as oligoubiquitins,bacterial GroEL/ES chaperones,and mirror-image DNA polymerases.Through these studies,a potential bottleneck has also been recognized for the chemical synthesis of large proteins,namely,how to ensure that each peptide segment from a large protein avoids unfavorable aggregation when dissolved in aqueous solution.Many new methods,such as removable backbone modification(RBM)strategy have been developed to overcome this bottleneck,while more studies need to be carried out to develop more effective and less costly methods that ultimately,may lead to fully automatable chemical synthesis of customized proteins of 300 amino acids bearing any artificial designs. | ZHANG Baochang LI Yulei SHI Weiwei WANG Tongyue ZHANG Feng LIU Lei | 2020 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,5: | 3 |
| 5 | The rotation of polarization of a terahertz wave through subwavelength metallic structures显示文摘Structures consisting of a planar array of subwavelength metallic bars fabricated on a dielectric substrate are theoretically investigated in order to rotate the polarization of a normally incident terahertz wave in the resonance frequency band.We attribute this phenomenon to one component of the terahertz electric field parallel to inclined metallic bars which is reflected strongly due to the terahertz re-radiation from accelerated electrons in the metallic bars,while the other component perpendicular to the bars transmits almost entirely through the structures.By theoretical analysis,we obtain the transmitted-terahertz components polarized in the x-and y-directions,respectively.Further studies indicate polarization of a terahertz wave can be rotated within two specific frequency bands when the terahertz impinges on the double-bar sample. | LIU JianFeng ZHOU QingLi SHI YuLei ZHANG CunLin | 2013 | Science China Chemistry2013,56,3: | 3 |
| 6 | Carrier dynamics and terahertz photoconductivity of doped silicon measured by femtosecond pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy显示文摘The carrier dynamics and terahertz photoconductivity in the n-type silicon (n-Si) as well as in the p-type Silicon (p-Si) have been investigated by using femtosecond pump-terahertz probe technique. The measurements show that the relative change of terahertz transmission of p-Si at low pump power is slightly smaller than that of n-Si,due to the lower carrier density induced by the recombination of original holes in the p-type material and the photogenerated electrons. At high pump power,the bigger change of terahertz transmission of p-Si originates from the greater mobility of the carriers compared to n-Si. The transient photoconductivities are calculated and fit well with the Drude-Smith model,showing that the mobility of the photogenerated carriers decreases with the increasing pump power. | 7 | Efficacy and safety of Sancai powder in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety of Sancai powder in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) inadequately controlled with single oral metformin in a randomized controlled trial(RCT).METHODS: A total of 132 patients with T2 DM were enrolled in the study, who only took metformin(500-1000 mg/day) for at least three months and with inadequate glycemic control(7.0% ≤ hemoglobin A1 c ≤ 9.0%) in the past three months.The patients stopped taking metformin with lifestyle interventions for three weeks, and 105 patients qualified for the program. They were randomly divided into the Sancai powder group and the metformin group(1500 mg/day). The follow-up period was for 12 weeks. Comparisons of several variables were analyzed.RESULTS: No significant differences were found between the two groups in hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1c),fasting plasma glucose(FPG) and 2 h post-meal glucose(2h PG), although they had decreased significantly(P < 0.01). Homeostasis model assessment of beta cell function index was significantly improved in Sancai powder group(P < 0.01), and there were significant differences in the changes of homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity index in the two groups(P < 0.05). | 10 | Presence of circulating tumor cells is associated with metabolic-related variables in postoperative patients with early-stage breast cancer显示文摘Objective:Although circulating tumor cells(CTCs)have been well-established as promising prognostic biomarkers in both early breast cancer and metastatic settings,little is known regarding the prognostic relevance of CTCs in the long-term postoperative monitoring of patients with non-metastatic breast cancer(non-MBC).In this study,we investigated the associations of CTCs with clinicopathological features and metabolic-related variables,such as obesity and hyperglycemia.Methods:In this retrospective study,we recruited 264 patients with postoperative stage Ⅰ–Ⅲ breast cancer at Guangdong General Hospital from January 2009 to December 2015.The prevalence and number of CTCs were assessed using the Cell Search System at a median time of 19.0 months[interquartile range(IQR),7.8–33.0]after surgery.The CTC assay results were correlated with the clinicopathological features and metabolic-related variables.A multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to further determine the independent predictors of CTCs.Results:CTCs were detected in 10.6%of all patients.The positive rate of CTCs in patients with infiltrating ductal carcinoma was lower than that in patients with other pathological types(9.0%vs.28.6%,P=0.020).More importantly,the presence of CTCs was correlated with blood glucose level(P=0.015)and high-density lipoprotein level(P=0.030).The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the pathological type[odds ratio(OR):1.757,95%CI:1.021–3.023;P=0.042]and blood glucose level(OR:1.218,95%CI:1.014–1.465;P=0.035)were independent predictors of the presence of CTCs.Conclusions:This study revealed potential associations between CTCs and metabolic-related factors in Chinese patients with non-MBC and supports the hypothesis that metabolic dysfunction in breast cancer patients might influence the biological activity of metastatic breast cancer,leading to a higher prevalence of CTCs. | Yumei Shi Guochun Zhang Yulei Wang Chongyang Ren Lingzhu Wen Wenzhen Zhu Xiaoqing Chen Ning Liao | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,3: | 1 |

| 12 | Radiolytic decomposition of 4-bromodiphenyl ether显示文摘Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) spread widely in the environment are mainly removed by photochemical and anaerobic microbial degradation. In this paper, the decomposition of 4-bromodiphenyl ether (BDE -3), the PBDEs homologues, is investigated by electron beam irradiation of its ethanol/water solution (reduction system) and acetonitrile/water solution (oxidation system). The radiolytic products were determined by GC coupled with electron capture detector, and the reaction rate constant of esol– in the reduction system was measured at 2.7×1010 L·mol–1·s–1 by pulsed radiolysis. The results show that the BDE-3 concentration affects strongly the decomposition ratio in the alkali solution, and the reduction system has a higher BDE-3 decomposition rate than the oxidation system. | 16 | Petroleum geological features and hydrocarbon enrichment of Linhe Depression in Hetao Basin, NW China显示文摘Based on paleogeomorphology, drilling and seismic data, this paper systematically studies the structural and sedimentary evolution, source rock characteristics, reservoir characteristics and formation mechanism, hydrocarbon accumulation model and enrichment law in the Linhe Depression of the Hetao Basin, NW China. The Hetao Basin mainly experienced three stages of evolution, namely, weak extensional fault depression, strong extensional fault depression and strike-slip transformation, giving rise to four positive structural belts(Jilantai, Shabu, Nalinhu and Xinglong), which are favorable areas for oil and gas accumulation. The two main saline lacustrine source rocks, Lower Cretaceous Guyang Formation and Oligocene Linhe Formation, are characterized by high sulfur content, rich algae, early maturity, early expulsion, and wide oil generation window. The large structural transition belt in the intermountain area around the Hetao Basin controls the formation of large-scale braided river delta deposits, which are characterized by high quartz content(50%-76%), long-term shallow burial and weak compaction, low cement content, and good reservoir properties in delta front sandbody. The burial depth of the effective Paleogene reservoirs is predicted to reach 8000 m. Three hydrocarbon accumulation models, nose-uplift near sag, buried hill surrounding sag, fault nose near source rock, are constructed.
