Do pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis (PANoptosis) exist in cerebral ischemia? Evidence from cell and rodent studies显示文摘Some scholars have recently developed the concept of PANoptosis in the study of infectious diseases where pyroptosis, apoptosis and necroptosis act in consort in a multimeric protein complex,PANoptosome. This allows all the components of PANoptosis to be regulated simultaneously.PANoptosis provides a new way to study the regulation of cell death,in that different types of cell death may be regulated at the same time.To test whether PANoptosis exists in diseases other than infectious diseases,we chose cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury as the research model, collected articles researching cerebral ischemia/reperfusion from three major databases, obtained the original research data from these articles by bibliometrics, data mining and other methods, then integrated and analyzed these data.We selected papers that investigated at least two of the components of PANoptosis to check its occurrence in ischemia/reperfusion.In the cell model simulating ischemic brain injury, pyroptosis, apoptosis and necroptosis occur together and this phenomenon exists widely in different passage cell lines or primary neurons.Pyroptosis, apoptosis and necroptosis also occurred in rat and mouse models of ischemia/reperfusion injury. This confirms that PANoptosis is observed in ischemic brain injury and indicates that PANoptosis can be a target in the regulation of various central nervous system diseases.Wei-Tao Yan Yan-Di Yang Xi-Min Hu Wen-Ya Ning Lyu-Shuang Liao Shuang Lu Wen-Juan Zhao Qi Zhang Kun Xiong 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,8:15
Application of next-generation sequencing technology to precision medicine in cancer: joint consensus of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology显示文摘Next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology is capable of sequencing millions or billions of DNA molecules simultaneously. Therefore, it represents a promising tool for the analysis of molecular targets for the initial diagnosis of disease, monitoring of disease progression, and identifying the mechanism of drug resistance. On behalf of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) and the China Actionable Genome Consortium(CAGC), the present expert group hereby proposes advisory guidelines on clinical applications of NGS technology for the analysis of cancer driver genes for precision cancer therapy. This group comprises an assembly of laboratory cancer geneticists, clinical oncologists, bioinformaticians, pathologists, and other professionals. After multiple rounds of discussions and revisions, the expert group has reached a preliminary consensus on the need of NGS in clinical diagnosis, its regulation, and compliance standards in clinical sample collection. Moreover, it has prepared NGS criteria, the sequencing standard operation procedure(SOP), data analysis, report, and NGS platform certification and validation.Xuchao Zhang Zhiyong Liang Shengyue Wang Shun Lu Yong Song Ying Cheng Jianming Ying Weiping Liu Yingyong Hou Yangqiu Li Yi Liu Jun Hou Xiufeng Liu Jianyong Shao Yanhong Tai Zheng Wang Li Fu Hui Li Xiaojun Zhou Hua Bai Mengzhao Wang You Lu Jinji Yang Wenzhao Zhong Qing Zhou Xuening Yang Jie Wang Cheng Huang Xiaoqing Liu Xiaoyan Zhou Shirong Zhang Hongxia Tian Yu Chen Ruibao Ren Ning Liao Chunyan Wu Zhongzheng Zhu Hongming Pan Yanhong Gu Liwei Wang Yunpeng Liu Suzhan Zhang Tianshu Liu Gong Chen Zhimin Shao Binghe Xu Qingyuan Zhang Ruihua Xu Lin Shen Yilong Wu 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,1:14
Meningeal lymphatic vessels regulate brain tumor drainage and immunity显示文摘Recent studies have shown that meningeal lymphatic vessels(MLVs),which are located both dorsally and basally beneath the skull, provide a route for draining macromolecules and trafficking immune cells from the central nervous system(CNS)into cervical lymph nodes(CLNs),and thus represent a potential therapeutic target for treating neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases. However, the roles of MLVs in brain tumor drainage and immunity remain unexplored. Here we show that dorsal MLVs undergo extensive remodeling in mice with intracranial gliomas or metastatic melanomas.RNA-seq analysis of MLV endothelial cells revealed changes in the gene sets involved in lymphatic remodeling, fluid drainage,as well as inflammatory and immunological responses.Disruption of dorsal MLVs alone impaired intratumor fluid drainage and the dissemination of brain tumor cells to deep CLNs(dCLNs).Notably, the dendritic cell(DC)trafficking from intracranial tumor tissues to dCLNs decreased in mice with defective dorsal MLVs,and increased in mice with enhanced dorsal meningeal lymphangiogenesis.Strikingly, disruption of dorsal MLVs alone, without affecting basal MLVs or nasal LVs,significantly reduced the efficacy of combined anti-PD-1/CTLA-4 checkpoint therapy in striatal tumor models.Furthermore, mice bearing tumors overexpressing VEGF-C displayed a better response to anti-PD-1/CTLA-4 combination therapy, and this was abolished by CCL21/CCR7 blockade, suggesting that VEGF-C potentiates checkpoint therapy via the CCL21/CCR7 pathway.Together, the results of our study not only demonstrate the functional aspects of MLVs as classic lymphatic vasculature, but also highlight that they are essential in generating an efficient immune response against brain tumors.Xueting Hu Qiuping Deng Lu Ma Qingqing Li Yidong Chen Yuhan Liao Fan Zhou Chen Zhang Linlin Shao Jun Feng Tubao He Weihai Ning Yan Kong Yingqing Huo Aibin He Bing Liu Jingjing Zhang Ralf Adams Yulong He Fuchou Tang Xiuwu Bian Jincai Luo 2020Cell Research2020,30,3:11
Seismic response analysis of road vehicle-bridge system for continuous rigid frame bridges with high piers显示文摘The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of earthquakes on road vehicle-bridge coupling vibration systems. A two-axle highway freight vehicle is treated as a 13 degree-of-freedom system composed of several rigid bodies, which are connected by a series of springs and dampers. The framework of the earthquake-vehicle-bridge dynamic analysis system is then established using an earthquake as the external excitation. The equivalent lateral contact force serves as the judgment criteria for sideslip accidents according to reliability theory. The entire process of the vehicle crossing the bridge is considered for a very high pier continuous rigid frame bridge. The response characteristics of the vehicle and the bridge are discussed in terms of various parameters such as earthquake ground motion, PGA value of the earthquake, incident angle, pier height, vehicle speed and mass. It is found that seismic excitation is the most influential factor in the responses of the vehicle-bridge system and that the safety of vehicles crossing the bridge is seriously impacted by the dual excitations of earthquake and bridge vibration.Li Yongle Chen Ning Zhao Kai Liao Haili 2012Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2012,11,4:9
Honokiol:a promising small molecular weight natural agent for the growth inhibition of oral squamous cell carcinoma cells显示文摘Honokiol (HNK) is a small organic molecule purified from magnolia species and has demonstrated anticancer activities in a variety of cancer cell lines; however, its effect on oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cells is unknown. We investigated the antitumor activities of HNK on OSCC cells in vitro for the first time. The inhibitory effects of HNK on the growth and proliferation of OSCC cells were demonstrated via in vitro 3-(4,5-dimethyl thiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) and propidium iodide (PI) assays, and the apoptotic cells were investigated by the observation of morphological changes and detection of DNA fragmentation via PI, TdT-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL), and DNA ladder assays, as well as flow cytometry assay. The results showed that HNK inhibited the growth and proliferation of OSCC cells in vitro in a time and dose-dependent manner. The inhibitory effect was associated with the cell apoptosis induced by HNK, evidenced by the morphological features of apoptotic cells, TUNEL-positive cells and a degradation of chromosomal DNA into small internucleosomal fragments. The study also demonstrated here that the inhibition or apoptosis mediated by 15 μg·mL-1 or 20 μg·mL-1 of HNK were more stronger compared with those of 20 μg·mL-1 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu, the control) applied to OSCC cells, when the ratio of OSCC cell numbers were measured between the treatment of different concentrations of HNK to the 5-Fu treatment for 48 h. HNK is a promising compound that can be potentially used as a novel treatment agent for human OSCC.Xi-rui Chen Rui Lu Hong-xia Dan Ga Liao Min Zhou Xiao-yu Li Ning Ji 2011International Journal of Oral Science2011,3,1:8
Microbial reduction of uranium(Ⅵ)by Bacillus sp.Dwc-2:A macroscopic and spectroscopic study显示文摘The microbial reduction of U(VI) by Bacillus sp. dwc-2, isolated from soil in Southwest China, was explored using transmission electron microscopy(TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy(XANES). Our studies indicated that approximately 16.0% of U(VI) at an initial concentration of 100 mg/L uranium nitrate could be reduced by Bacillus sp. dwc-2 at pH 8.2 under anaerobic conditions at room temperature.Additionally, natural organic matter(NOM) played an important role in enhancing the bioreduction of U(VI) by Bacillus sp. dwc-2. XPS results demonstrated that the uranium presented mixed valence states(U(VI) and U(IV)) after bioreduction, which was subsequently confirmed by XANES. Furthermore, the TEM and high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) analysis suggested that the reduced uranium was bioaccumulated mainly within the cell and as a crystalline structure on the cell wall. These observations implied that the reduction of uranium may have a significant effect on its fate in the soil environment in which these bacterial strains occur.Xiaolong Li Congcong Ding Jiali Liao Liang Du Qun Sun Jijun Yang Yuanyou Yang Dong Zhang Jun Tang Ning Liu 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,3:8
Complete chloroplast genome of Salvia plebeia:organization, specific barcode and phylogenetic analysis显示文摘Salvia plebeia has been in use as traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for more than 500 years. In this study, the complete chloroplast(cp)genome of S.plebeia was sequenced, assembled and compared to those of other five published Salvia cp genomes. It was found that the cp genome structure of S.plebeia was well conserved and had a total size of 151062 bp.Four parameters were used to display the usage conditions of the codons of the amino acids in Salvia genus.Although the number of protein-coding genes in each species was the same, the total number of codons was different.Except for amino acids Trp and Met whose Relative Synonymous Codon Usage(RSCU)value of one condon was equal to 1,the remaining 19 amino acids had 1-3 preferred codons. The preferred codon names of each amino acid were coincident. The period size for the tandem repeats of six species ranged from 9 to 410 bp.Salvia cp genomes mainly possessed tandem repeats with a copy number less than or equal to 3.The sequence length of tandem repeats of the six species ranged from 25 to 824 bp.Highly viarable regions including four intergenic spacers and six partial genes were discovered as potential specific barcodes for Salvia species through cp genome-wide comparison. Finally,we performed phylogenetic analyses based on the complete cp genome and coding sequences respectively. These results provide information to help construct the cp genome library for Salvia, which may support studies of phylogenetics,DNA barcoding, population and transplastomics.CUI Ning LIAO Bao-Sheng LIANG Cong-Lian LI Shi-Feng ZHANG Hao XU Jiang LI Xi-Wen Chen Shi-Lin 2020Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2020,18,8:7
Sox9 augments BMP2-induced chondrogenic differentiation by downregulating Smad7 in mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)显示文摘Cartilage injuries caused by arthritis or trauma pose formidable challenges for effective clinical management due to the limited intrinsic proliferative capability of chondrocytes.Autologous stem cell-based therapies and transgene-enhanced cartilage tissue engineering may open new avenues for the treatment of cartilage injuries.Bone morphogenetic protein 2(BMP2)induces effective chondrogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)and can thus be explored as a potential therapeutic agent for cartilage defect repair.However,BMP2 also induces robust endochondral ossification.Although the precise mechanisms through which BMP2 governs the divergence of chondrogenesis and osteogenesis remain to be fully understood, blocking endochondral ossification during BMP2-induced cartilage formation may have practical significance for cartilage tissue engineering. Here,we investigate the role of Sox9-donwregulated Smad7 in BMP2-induced chondrogenic differentiation of MSCs.We find that overexpression of Sox9 leads to a decrease in BMP2-induced Smad7 expression in MSCs.Sox9 inhibits BMP2-induced expression of osteopontin while enhancing the expression of chondrogenic marker Col2a1 in MSCs.Forced expression of Sox9 in MSCs promotes BMP2-induced chondrogenesis and suppresses BMP2-induced endochondral ossification.Constitutive Smad7 expression inhibits BMP2-induced chondrogenesis in stem cell implantation assay.Mouse limb explant assay reveals that Sox9 expands BMP2-stimulated chondrocyte proliferating zone while Smad7 promotes BMP2-intitated hypertrophic zone of the growth plate.Cell cycle analysis indicates that Smad7 induces significant early apoptosis in BMP2-stimulated MSCs.Taken together, our results strongly suggest that Sox9 may facilitate BMP2-induced chondrogenesis by downregulating Smad7,which can be exploited for effective cartilage tissue engineering.Chen Zhao Wei Jiang Nian Zhou Junyi Liao Mingming Yang Ning Hu Xi Liang Wei Xu Hong Chen Wei Liu Lewis L.Shi Leonardo Oliveira Jennifer Moriatis Wolf Sherwin Ho Aravind Athiviraham H.M.Tsai Tong-Chuan He Wei Huang 2017Genes & Diseases2017,4,4:7
Relationship between higher-order aberrations and myopia progression in schoolchildren: a retrospective study显示文摘AIM: To investigate the relationship between higher- order aberration (HOA) and myopic progression in schoolchildren. ·METHODS: Between April 23 2011 and August 29, 2011 in the children's myopia outpatient clinic of the West China Hospital of Sichuan University, 148 eyes of 74 schoolchildren were reviewed. HOAs for a 6 -mm pupil were measured with an aberrometer. Myopic progression rate was defined according to the change in spherical equivalent refraction (SER) divided by the time span (years). Subjects with myopic progression rate of ≥0.50 diopters (D) were classified as the 'fast'group and the subjects with myopic progression rate of <0.50D were classified as the'slow'group. A retrospective study was conducted to compare HOA between the two groups, using root mean square (RMS) values and Zernike coefficients. ·RESULTS: The RMS values of HOA (t =2.316, P =0.02), HOA without Z 4 0 (t =2.224, P =0.03),third-order aberrations (t' =2.62, P =0.01), and coma (t' =2.49, P =0.01) were significantly higher in the fast group than those in the slow group. The individual Zernike coefficients of Z 3 -1 (t = -2.072, P =0.04) and Z 5 1 (Z =-2.627, P =0.01) displayed statistically significant differences between the two groups. Significant correlations were found between the RMS values of HOA (r =0.193, P =0.019), RMS values of HOA without Z 4 0 (r =0.23, P =0.005), RMS values of coma(r =0.235,P =0.004),RMS values of third-order aberrations (r =0.243, P =0.003), and the progression rate. · CONCLUSION: Our results provide evidence of a relationship between HOA and myopic progression. In a future prospective longitudinal study, we aim to verify whether HOA is a risk factor for myopic progression.Ning Zhang Xu-Bo Yang Wen-Qiu Zhang Long-Qian Liu Guang-Jing Dong Tao-Wen Chen Meng Liao Xuan Liao 2013International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2013,6,3:7
Activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases in satellite glial cells of the trigeminal ganglion contributes to substance P-mediated inflammatory pain显示文摘Inflammatory orofacial pain,in which substance P (SP) plays an important role,is closely related to the cross-talk between trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons and satellite glial cells (SGCs).SGC activation is emerging as the key mechanism underlying inflammatory pain through different signalling mechanisms, including glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) activation, phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signalling pathways, and cytokine upregulation. However,in the TG,the mechanism underlying SP-mediated orofacial pain generated by SGCs is largely unknown. In this study,we investigated whether SP is involved in inflammatory orofacial pain by upregulating interleukin (IL)-1β and tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α from SGCs,and we explored whether MAPK signalling pathways mediate the pain process. In the present study, complete Freund’s adjuvant (CFA) was injected into the whisker pad of rats to induce an inflammatory model in vivo.SP was administered to SGC cultures in vitro to confirm the effect of SP.Facial expression analysis showed that pre-injection of L703,606 (an NK-1 receptor antagonist),U0126 (an inhibitor of MAPK/extracellular signal-regulated kinase [ERK] kinase [MEK] 1/2),and SB203580 (an inhibitor of P38) into the TG to induce targeted prevention of the activation of the NK-1 receptor and the phosphorylation of MAPKs significantly suppressed CFA-induced inflammatory allodynia. In addition,SP promoted SGC activation, which was proven by increased GFAP,p-MAPKs,IL-1β and TNF-α in SGCs under inflammatory conditions. Moreover, the increase in IL-1β and TNF-α was suppressed by L703,606,U0126 and SB203580 in vivo and in vitro. These present findings suggested that SP,released from TG neurons, activated SGCs through the ERK1/2 and P38 pathways and promoted the production of IL-1β and TNF-α from SGCs,contributing to inflammatory orofacial pain associated with peripheral sensitization.Yanyan Zhang Ning Song Fei Liu Jiu Lin Mengke Liu Chaolan Huang Daqing Liao Cheng Zhou Hang Wang Jiefei Shen 2019International Journal of Oral Science2019,11,3:6
Advances in postoperative adjuvant therapy for primary liver cancer显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a highly heterogeneous, invasive, and conventional chemotherapy-insensitive tumor with unique biological characteristics. The main methods for the radical treatment of HCC are surgical resection or liver transplantation. However, recurrence rates are as high as 50%and 70%at 3 and 5 years after liver resection, respectively, and even in Milan-eligible recipients, the recurrence rate is approximately 20%at 5 years after liver transplantation. Therefore, reducing the postoperative recurrence rate is key to improving the overall outcome of liver cancer. This review discusses the risk factors for recurrence in patients with HCC radical surgical resection and adjuvant treatment options that may reduce the risk of recurrence and improve overall survival, including local adjuvant therapy(e.g.,transcatheter arterial chemoembolization),adjuvant systemic therapy(e.g.,molecular targeted agents and immunotherapy),and other adjuvant therapies(e.g.,antiviral and herbal therapy). Finally, potential research directions that may change the paradigm of adjuvant therapy for HCC are analyzed.Zhi-Ming Zeng Ning Mo Jie Zeng Fu-Chao Ma Yan-Feng Jiang Hua-Sheng Huang Xi-Wen Liao Guang-Zhi Zhu Jie Ma Tao Peng 2022World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2022,14,9:5
Removal of radioactive cesium from solutions by zinc ferrocyanide显示文摘Adsorption of ^(134)Cs from aqueous solution by zinc fcrrocyanide, and the effect of experimental conditions on the adsorption were investigated.Preliminary results showed that zinc ferrocyanide was very efficient as an absorbent.Over 98% of ^(134)Cs could be removed by zinc ferrocyanide of 0.33 g·L^(-1) from ^(134)Cs solution (Co) of 3.2~160.0 kBq·L^(-1),with adsorption capacities (Q) of 9.6~463.0 kBq·g^(-1).The adsorption equilibrium time was within one hour and the suitable pH ranged 1~10.No significant differences on ^(134)Cs adsorption were observed at 0~50℃,or in solutions containing Ca^(2+),Fe^(3+),Mg^(2+),HCO_3^-,CO_3^(2-),Cl and SO_4^(2-),even though they are 1000 times higher than the anions or cations in groundwater. However, the adsorption rates decreased when solutions contained K^+ or Na^+.The adsorption process could be described by Frcundlich and Langmuir adsorption equations.LI Bing LIAO Jiali WU Jiaojiao ZHANG Dong ZHAO Jun YANG Yuanyou CHENG Qiong FENG Yue LIU Ning 2008Nuclear Science and Techniques2008,19,2:5
Bioaccumulation characterization of uranium by a novel Streptomyces sporoverrucosus dwc-3显示文摘The biosorption mechanisms of uranium on an aerobic bacterial strain Streptomyces sporoverrucosus dwc-3,isolated from a potential disposal site for(ultra-)low uraniferous radioactive waste in Southwest China, were evaluated by using transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX)analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),proton induced X-ray emission(PIXE)and enhanced proton backscattering spectrometry(EPBS).Approximately60% of total uranium at an initial concentration of 10 mg/L uranium nitrate solution could be absorbed on 100 mg S.sporoverrucosus dwc-3 with an adsorption capacity of more than3.0 mg/g(wet weight)after 12 hr at room temperature at p H 3.0.The dynamic biosorption process of S.sporoverrucosus dwc-3 for uranyl ions was well described by a pseudo second-order model.S.sporoverrucosus dwc-3 could accumulate uranium on cell walls and within the cell,as revealed by SEM and TEM analysis as well as EDX spectra.XPS and FT-IR analysis further suggested that the absorbed uranium was bound to amino, phosphate and carboxyl groups of the cells.Additionally,PIXE and EPBS results confirmed that ion exchange also contributed to the adsorption process of uranium.Xiaolong Li Congcong Ding Jiali Liao Liang Du Qun Sun Jijun Yang Yuanyou Yang Dong Zhang Jun Tang Ning Liu 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3:5
Genome-wide identification and expression analysis of StPP2C gene family in response to multiple stresses in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)显示文摘The plant protein phosphatase 2Cs(PP2Cs)play an essential role in response to stress and abscisic acid(ABA)signaling pathway. However,to date,no systemic characterization of the PP2Cs has yet bee n con ducted in potato(Solan um tuberosum L.).In the study,a comprehensive research was performed on genome-wide identification and expression analysis of StPP2C genes in potato.A total of 78 potato StPP2C genes were identified based on specific structure of PP2C domain, which were distributed across 11 out of 12 potato chromosomes and divided into 12(A-L)phylogenetic branches. The result from gene duplication an alysis showed that 14 StPP2Cs were in volved in gene tan dem duplication and 8 genes formed fragment duplicati on eve nts, which indicated that both tandem and fragment duplicati on contributed to the expa nsion of the gene family in evolution.Exon-intron structural analysis showed that they had a wide range of exon numbers.Analysis of protei n con servative motif dem on strated that StPP2Cs contained more similar motif structures in the same phyloge netic branches. The c/s-elements in StPP2C gene promoter regions were mainly responded to light, phytohormone and abiotic stress. Most of them exhibited tissue-specific expressi on patter ns,and some members could differe ntially express un der abiotic stress. The evidenee suggested that StPP2C genes may contribute to different functions in several physiological stress and environmental stress conditi ons. This study could provide new in sights to further in vestigate StPP2C functional characteristics responding to various stresses in potato.WANG Yi-fan LIAO Yu-qiu WANG Ya-peng YANG Jiang-wei ZHANG Ning SI Huai-jun 2020Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,6:5
Phaeocystis globosa Bloom Monitoring: Based on P. globosa Induced Seawater Viscosity Modification Adjacent to a Nuclear Power Plant in Qinzhou Bay, China显示文摘The mucus produced by the outbreak of Phaeocystis globosa in the adjacent waters of the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant(FCGNPP) in China has blocked the entrance of the cooling water filtration system of the FCGNPP, and posed a threat to the safe operation of the FCGNPP. At present, there is no related research on whether the changes in seawater viscosity could be used as a new method for monitoring and providing early warning of P. globosa tide. During a complete red tide cycle, the temporal and spatial changes in the hydrological conditions(temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen), chlorophyll-a(Chl-a), composition and abundance of phytoplankton, number and size of P. globose colonies, concentration of transparent exopolymer particles(TEP) and the seawater viscosity were measured in this study. The results indicate that there was an extremely significant negative correlation between the physical seawater viscosity η_(T,S) and temperature, and the correlation coefficient reached-0.998. The biological seawater viscosity η_(Bio) was positively correlated with the number of P. globosa colonies, and the correlation coefficients is 0.747. Because the increase in phytoplankton abundance, especially during the outbreak of P. globosa and a large amount of mucus produced by the colonies could significantly increase seawater viscosity, we suggest that biological factors were the main reasons for the increase in seawater viscosity. The η_(Bio) was completely consistent with the occurrence process of P. globosa bloom and could be used as a valuable index for P. globosa bloom monitoring.KANG Zhenjun YANG Bin LAI Junxiang NING Yi ZHONG Qiuping LU Dongliang LIAO Riquan WANG Pei Solomon Felix Dan SHE Zhicai JIA Zhen LAO Yanling LI Nan 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,5:5
Shear-responsive boundary-lubricated hydrogels attenuate osteoarthritis显示文摘Lipid-based boundary layers formed on liposome-containing hydrogels can facilitate lubrication. However, these boundary layers can be damaged by shear, resulting in decreased lubrication. Here,a shear-responsive boundary-lubricated drug-loaded hydrogel is created by incorporating celecoxib(CLX)-loaded liposomes within dynamic covalent bond-based hyaluronic acid(HA)hydrogels(CLX@Lipo@HA-gel).The dynamic cross-linked network enables the hydrogel to get restructured in response to shear, and the HA matrix allows the accumulation of internal liposome microreservoirs on the sliding surfaces, which results in the formation of boundary layers to provide stable lubrication. Moreover, hydration shells formed surrounding the hydrogel can retard the degradation process, thus helping in sustaining lubrication.Furthermore,in vitro and in vivo experiments found that CLX@Lipo@HA-gels can maintain anabolic-catabolic balance, alleviate cartilage wear, and attenuate osteoarthritis progression by delivering CLX and shear-responsive boundary lubrication.Overall,CLX@Lipo@HA-gels can serve as shear-responsive boundary lubricants and drug-delivery vehicles to alleviate friction-related diseases like osteoarthritis.Yiting Lei Xingkuan Wang Junyi Liao Jieliang Shen Yuling Li Zhengwei Cai Ning Hu Xiaoji Luo Wenguo Cui Wei Huang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,10:4

Interaction between uranium and humic acid(Ⅰ):Adsorption behaviors of U(Ⅵ) in soil humic acids显示文摘The adsorption behaviors of uranium on three soil humic acids (HAs), which were extracted from soils of different depths at the same site, were investigated under various experimental conditions. The adsorption results showed that U(Ⅵ) in solutions can be adsorbed by the three soil HAs, with the order of FHA (HA from 5 m depth of soil) >SHA (HA from the surface) >THA (HA from 10 m depth of soil) for adsorption efficiency in each desirable condition, and the adsorption reached equilibrium in about 240 min. Although the maximum adsorption efficiency was achieved at a suitable uranium concentration (10 mg·L-1 U(Ⅵ) for SHA and THA, 20 mg·L-1 U(Ⅵ) for FHA), the adsorption could be described with Langmiur isotherm or Freundlich isotherm equation. The L/S (liquid/solid, mL/g) ratio and pH were important factors influencing the adsorption in our adsorption system besides uranium concentration. The adsorption efficiency decreased with the increase of the L/S ratio and pH at the pH range of 2.0-3.0 for SHA and THA or 2.5-6.0 for FHA. However, no significant difference in adsorption of U(Ⅵ) was observed at the experimental temperature. All the results implied that humic substances have different characteristics in samples even collected at the same site.WEI Min LIAO Jiali LIU Ning ZHANG Dong KANG Houjun YANG Yuanyou YANG Yong JIN Jiannan 2007Nuclear Science and Techniques2007,18,5:4
Genetic diagnosis history and osteoarticular phenotype of a nontransfusion secondary hemochromatosis显示文摘BACKGROUND It is not easy to identify the cause of various iron overload diseases because the phenotypes overlap. Therefore,it is important to perform genetic testing to determine the genetic background of patients.AIM To investigate the genetic background of a patient with hemochromatosis complicated by psoriasis on both lower extremities.METHODS Ten years ago,a 61-year-old male presented with iron overload, jaundice, hemolytic anemia and microcytic hypochromic anemia.Computed tomography of the left knee joint showed enlargement of the tibial medullary cavity and thinned bone cortices.Magnetic resonance imaging showed hepatic hemochromatosis, extensive abnormal signals from bone marrow cavities and nodular lesions in the lateral medullary cavity of the upper left lateral tibia.Single photon emission computed tomography showed radial dots of abnormal concentration in the upper end of the left tibia and radial symmetry of abnormal concentrations in joints of the extremities. The patient showed several hot spot mutations of the HFE and G6PD genes detected by next-generation sequencing, but no responsible gene mutation was found. The thalassemia gene was detected by gap-PCR.RESULTS The patient was found to carry the-α4.2 and--SEA deletion mutations of the globin gene. These two mutations are common causes of Southeast Asianα-thalassemia,but rarely cause severe widespread non-transfusion secondary hemochromatosis osteoarthropathy. The simultaneous presence of an auxiliary superposition effect of a rare missense mutation of the PIEZO1 gene(NM_001142864,c.C4748T,p.A1583V)was considered. Moreover, several rare mutations of the IFIH1,KRT8,POFUT1,FLG,KRT2,and TGM5 genes may be involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.CONCLUSION The selection of genetic detection methods for hemochromatosis still needs to be based on an in-depth study of the clinical manifestations of the disease.Dan-Dan Ruan Yu-Mian Gan Tao Lu Xiao Yang Yao-Bin Zhu Qing-Hua Yu Li-Sheng Liao Ning Lin Xin Qian Jie-Wei Luo Fa-Qiang Tang 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,23:4
First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. We for the first time extended the limit to the m_(χ)<6 GeV/c^(2) region.Yi Wang Zhi Zeng Qian Yue LiTao Yang KeJun Kang YuanJing Li Mehment Agartioglu HaiPeng An JianPing Chang JingHan Chen YunHua Chen JianPing Cheng Cheng Yi Chiang WenHan Dai Zhi Deng ChangHao Fang XinPing Geng Hui Gong QiuJu Guo XuYuan Guo HongJian He Li He ShengMing He JinWei Hu TuChen Huang HanXiong Huang HaiTao Jia LiPing Jia Xi Jiang HauBin Li JianMin Li Jin Li MingXuan Li RenMingJie Li Xia Li YuLan Li Bin Liao FongKay Lin ShinTed Lin ShuKui Liu YanDong Liu Yu Liu YuanYuan Liu ZhongZhi Liu Hao Ma YuCai Mao QiYuan Nie JinHua Ning Hui Pan NingChun Qi Jie Ren XiChao Ruan ChangSong Shang Vivek Sharma Ze She Lakhwinder Singh Monoj Kumar Singh TianXi Sun ChangJian Tang WeiYou Tang Yang Tian GuangFu Wang Li Wang Qing Wang Yu Chen Wang YunXiang Wang Zhen Wang Henry Tsz-King Wong ShiYong Wu YuCheng Wu HaoYang Xing Yin Xu Tao Xue YuLu Yan Nan Yi ChunXu Yu HaiJun Yu JianFeng Yue Ming Zeng BingTao Zhang Lei Zhang FengShou Zhang ZhenYu Zhang KangKang Zhao MingGang Zhao JiFang Zhou ZuYing Zhou JingJun Zhu 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,8:3
