1Response to climate change of different tree species and NDVI variation since 1923 in the middle arid region of Ningxia,China显示文摘The normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)is used extensively to describe vegetation cover and ecological environment change.The purpose of this study was to contrast the response of different tree species growing in the same habitat to climate change and retrieve past NDVI using tree-ring width data from tree cores collected from the transitional zone of Pinus tabulaeformis and Picea crassifolia in the Luoshan Mountains in the middle arid region of Ningxia.Correlation analysis indicated that radial growth of P.tabulaeformis is more sensitive to precipitation and temperature change than that of P.crassifolia.Natural factors such as water availability and heat at this elevation are more suited to the growth of P.crassifolia,and are more advantageous to its renewal and succession.P.crassifolia is probably the better of the two species for protecting the forest ecosystem and conserving water in the Luoshan desertification area.Ring width of P.crassifolia correlates significantly with average NDVI for April–May(r=0.641,p<0.01),and both of them are influenced positively by precipitation in April–May.The reconstructed NDVI for 1923–2007 shows the relatively low vegetation cover occurred in the 1920s–1930s,the1960s–1970s,and the early 21st century.The reconstructed NDVI better reflected the drought climate in the study area.YaJun Wang RuiJie Lu YuZhen Ma HongWei Meng ShangYu Gao 2014Research in Cold and Arid Regions2014,6,1:6
2Dynamic microwave-assisted extraction combined with liquid phase microextraction based on the solidification of a floating drop for the analysis of organochlorine pesticides in grains followed by GC显示文摘A convenient,cost-effective and fast method using dynamic microwave-assisted extraction and liquid phase microextraction based on the solidification of a floating drop was proposed to analyze organochlorine pesticides in grains including rice,maize and millet.Twelve samples can be processed simultaneously in the method.During the extraction process,10%acetonitrile-water solutions containing 110μL of n-hexadecane were used to extract organochlorine pesticides.Subsequently,1.0 g sodium chloride was placed in the extract,and then centrifuged and cooled.The n-hexadecane drops containing the analytes were solidifi ed and transferred for determination by gas chromatography-electron capture detector without any further filtration or cleaning process.Limits of detection for organochlorine pesticides were 0.97–1.01μg/kg and the RSDs were in the range of 2.6%–8.5%.The developed technology has succeeded in analyzing six real grains samples and the recoveries of the organochlorine pesticides were 72.2%–94.3%.Compared with the published extraction methods,the developed method was used to analyze organochlorine pesticides in grains,being more environmentally friendly,which is suitable for the daily determination of organochlorine pesticides.Guijie Li Xu Zhang Tingting Liu Hongxiu Fan Hongcheng Liu Shangyu Li Dawei Wang Lan Ding 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,3:4
3Strain hardening of as-extruded Mg-xZn(x=1, 2, 3 and 4 wt%) alloys显示文摘The influence of Zn on the strain hardening of as-extruded Mg-x Zn(x = 1, 2, 3 and 4 wt%) magnesium alloys was investigated using uniaxial tensile tests at 10^(-3)s^(-1) at room temperature. The strain hardening rate,the strain hardening exponent and the hardening capacity were obtained from true plastic stress-strain curves. There were almost no second phases in the as-extruded Mg-Zn magnesium alloys. Average grain sizes of the four as-extruded alloys were about 17.8 μm. With increasing Zn content from 1 to 4 wt%, the strain hardening rate increased from 2850 MPa to 6810 MPa at(б-б_(0.2)) = 60 MPa, the strain hardening exponent n increased from 0.160 to 0.203, and the hardening capacity, Hc increased from 1.17 to 2.34.The difference in strain hardening response of these Mg-Zn alloys might be mainly caused by weaker basal texture and more solute atoms in the α-Mg matrix with higher Zn content.Chaoyue Zhao Xianhua Chen Fusheng Pan Jingfeng Wang Shangyu Gao Teng Tu Chunquan Liu Jiahao Yao Andrej Atrens 2019Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,1:4
4Oxygen vacancy-engineered BaTiO_(3)nanoparticles for synergistic cancer photothermal,photodynamic,and catalytic therapy显示文摘With the rapid development of photo-responsive nanomaterials,photo-triggered therapeutic strategies such as photothermal therapy(PTT)and photodynamic therapy(PDT)have been new alternatives to current cancer therapeutic methods.Herein,we have fabricated oxygen vacancy-engineered BaTiO_(3)(BTO-Ov)nanoparticles(NPs)for near-infrared(NIR)light-triggered PTT,PDT,and catalytic therapy cooperatively for significantly improving cancer therapy.Compared to pristine BaTiO_(3)nanoparticles,BTO-Ov has stronger NIR light absorption and narrower band gap structure,which results in superior photothermal conversion and superoxide radical generation capabilities through PTT and PDT.Meanwhile,due to the existence of Ti^(3+),BTO-Ov also exhibits peroxidase(POD)-like activity to produce hydroxyl radical under tumor environment,which can be further improved under 808 nm light irradiation.Both in vitro and in vivo results demonstrate that such a multifunctional therapeutic nanoplatform can achieve a high therapeutic efficacy triggered by a single NIR light irradiation.The defect engineering strategy can be used as a general approach to fabricate multifunctional cancer therapeutic nanoplatform.Yiming Ding Zhuo Wang Zeyu Zhang Yunchao Zhao Shangyu Yang Yalong Zhang Shuncheng Yao Shaobo Wang Tian Huang Yang Zhang Linlin Li 2022Nano Research2022,15,8:3
5Reconstructing the annual precipitation variation since 1899 based on tree-ring width in the western Hedong sandy land of Ningxia显示文摘Based on the analysis of the correlation between the tree-ring width of Pinus tabulaeformis and the climate factors in the western Hedong sandy land of Ningxia, a conversion equation between the annual precipitation and the tree-ring width since 1899 was reconstructed. The results of cross verification indicated that the conversion equation is stable and the reconstructed results are reliable. The result of reconstructed annual precipitation showed the remarkable fluctuation of precipitation and dry-to-wet variation before the 1940s. The smaller fluctuation and high frequent changes of precipitation occurred during the period of 1940s-1980s and after the 1980s the change trend of the precipitation became high periodic extent and low frequent. The study found that there were some coincidences with the climate change in Changling Mountains, Helan Mountains and the east of Qilian Mountains. The relatively dry periods in the beginning of 20th century, 1920s to 1930s, the end of the 20th century and 2004 to 2006 in the western Hedong sandy land of Ningxia accelerated the desertification, while the relatively humid period during the periods of the 1910s-1920s, 1930s-1940s and 1990s is favorable to prevent and control the desertification, and to weaken the climate warming and drying. 8Effects of Y and Zn additions on electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of Mg-Y-Zn alloys显示文摘Microstructure, electrical conductivity, and electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding effectiveness(SE) of cast Mg-x Zn-y Y(x = 2–5, y = 1–10) alloys were systematically investigated to understand the effects of Zn and Y additions on electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the alloys.Experimental results indicate that the electrical conductivity and SE of the Mg-x Zn-y Y alloys decrease with Y/Zn ratio. Electrical conductivity is the main factor that affects the electromagnetic shielding properties and the variation tendency of electromagnetic shielding properties of the Mg-x Zn-y Y alloys is consistent with conductivity. Valence of Y and Zn atoms, configuration of extranuclear electron and volumetric difference are main reasons for the variations in the electrical conductivity. 9Influence of Cerium on Corrosion of AZ91 Magnesium Alloy显示文摘Effect of cerium addition on corrosion resistance of AZ91 magnesium alloy was investigated using the static weight loss and polarization curve method as well as metallographical observation. The results indicate that a small amount of cerium (0.2%~0.8%) in AZ91 magnesium alloy can significantly reduce the corrosion rate, enhance the electrode voltage and lower corrosion current density in 3.5%NaCl aqueous solution, and AZ91-0.8%Ce alloy has better corrosion resistant performance. 11Super-resolution enhancement of UAV images based on fractional calculus and POCS显示文摘A super-resolution enhancement algorithm was proposed based on the combination of fractional calculus and Projection onto Convex Sets(POCS)for unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)images.The representative problems of UAV images including motion blur,fisheye effect distortion,overexposed,and so on can be improved by the proposed algorithm.The fractional calculus operator is used to enhance the high-resolution and low-resolution reference frames for POCS.The affine transformation parameters between low-resolution images and reference frame are calculated by Scale Invariant Feature Transform(SIFT)for matching.The point spread function of POCS is simulated by a fractional integral filter instead of Gaussian filter for more clarity of texture and detail.The objective indices and subjective effect are compared between the proposed and other methods.The experimental results indicate that the proposed method outperforms other algorithms in most cases,especially in the structure and detail clarity of the reconstructed images.Junfeng Lei Shangyue Zhang Li Luo Jinsheng Xiao He Wang 2018Geo-Spatial Information Science2018,21,1:1
12Old nest material functions as an informative cue in making nest-site selection decisions in the European Kestrel(Falco tinnunculus)显示文摘Background:For secondary cavity-nesting bird species that do not add lining materials to nests,the presence of old nest material or organic remains that have accumulated within nest cavities from previous breeding events may be a cue of nest-site quality.These materials potentially contain information about past breeding success in con-and heterospecifics and may improve the thermal insulation of eggs during incubation.However,few studies have addressed whether the presence of old nest materials serves as a cue for cavity-nesting raptors when choosing specific nest sites.Methods:We conducted a 9-year nest box experiment to test whether old nest materials from con-and heterospecifics serve as informative cues to the European Kestrel(Falco tinnunculus)when making nest selection decisions,as this species uses nest boxes without adding nesting material.Results:The presence of old nest materials and entrance size best discriminated nest boxes occupied by European Kestrels from unoccupied boxes.Nest boxes containing conspecific organic remains,artificial dry leaf and branch material,and material left behind by Great Tits(Parus major)were reused at higher rates,especially those containing conspecific nest material,than nest boxes containing true or simulated nest materials from predators.In 2010,no single nest box was occupied by the same banded individual that occupied the box in the previous year(10 females and 2 males were banded in 2009).Conclusions:European Kestrels preferred nest boxes containing old nest material over empty boxes,which is consistent with previous findings that they exploit con-and heterospecific cues when deciding where to settle and breed,as old nest or organic material provides substrate for incubating females.Kestrels may be able to assess the predation risks associated with a specific nest site based on experience or the presence of prey remains.The repeated use of nest boxes across breeding seasons by kestrels cannot be entirely ascribed to philopatry.This study provides evidence that old nest materials are potentially used as informative cues when making nest-site selection decisions in European Kestrels.Mingju E Tuo Wang Shangyu Wang Ye Gong Jiangping Yu Lin Wang Wei Ou Haitao Wang 2019Avian Research2019,10,4:1

14Privacy preserving divisible double auction with a hybridized TEE‑blockchain system显示文摘Double auction mechanisms have been designed to trade a variety of divisible resources(e.g.,electricity,mobile data,and cloud resources)among distributed agents.In such divisible double auction,all the agents(both buyers and sellers)are expected to submit their bid profiles,and dynamically achieve the best responses.In practice,these agents may not trust each other without a market mediator.Fortunately,smart contract is extensively used to ensure digital agreement among mutually distrustful agents.The consensus protocol helps the smart contract execution on the blockchain to ensure strong integrity and availability.However,severe privacy risks would emerge in the divisible double auction since all the agents should disclose their sensitive data such as the bid profiles(i.e.,bid amount and prices in different iterations)to other agents for resource allocation and such data are replicated on all the nodes in the network.Furthermore,the consensus requirements will bring a huge burden for the blockchain,which impacts the overall performance.To address these concerns,we propose a hybridized TEE-Blockchain system(system and auction mechanism co-design)to privately execute the divisible double auction.The designed hybridized system ensures privacy,honesty and high efficiency among distributed agents.The bid profiles are sealed for optimally allocating divisible resources while ensuring truthfulness with a Nash Equilibrium.Finally,we conduct experiments and empirical studies to validate the system and auction performance using two real-world applications.Bingyu Liu Shangyu Xie Yuanzhou Yang Rujia Wang Yuan Hong 2021Cybersecurity2021,4,1:0
15Can the ASHRAE Standard 169 zoning method be applied to country-level energy-efficient building design in China?显示文摘In current building thermal climate design zones of China,the zoning indicators only include temperature elements without considering the regional difference of air humidity.Therefore,building thermal design strategies in continental climate zone with low relative humidity and marine climate zone with high relative humidity cannot be distinguished by the current building thermal zoning standards.ASHRAE Standard 169 proposes dual definitions for moisture and thermal climate zones,and this method can be extended to the world,including the so-called“China Climate Zones Map”.However,the moisture climate zoning criterion is unsuitable for China’s climate characteristics after climate analysis and building performance evaluation.In present work,a novel building moisture climate zoning method is proposed.The bioclimatic chart was utilized for extracting the outline of building climate through the Gaussian KDE method.Hence,the building moisture climate was classified,the zoning indicator was obtained,and a country-level climate zones map for China was established.The results indicated that the global information matrix served as a helpful guide and reference for planning at the national level.Annual precipitation could be used as a zoning indicator to accurately reflect the regional differences of building moisture climate in China.The approach can provide new thoughts for improving the climate zoning system in current energy-efficient building design standards of China to assist the ultra-low energy consumption target.Shangyu Wang Liu Yang Xiangxin Meng Kailin Lyu Qimeng Cao Yan Liu 2023Building Simulation2023,16,7:0

17Synthesis of a novel Al foam with a periodic architecture by introducing hollow Al tubes and Al/Mg powders显示文摘In this work,we synthesized a brand-new Al foam with a periodic structure via a simple powder metallurgical route.The periodic architecture consists of both hierarchical porous and bi-directional composition-graded structures.The results show that the hierarchical porous material includes large pores on millimeter scale inheriting from the hollow structure of the Al tubes,and small pores on mi-crometer scale produced by the sintering of Al/Mg powders.The bi-directional Mg concentration-graded structure is formed in the tube walls due to the condensation of Mg vapor in the inner tube wall.The addition of Mg powders achieves excellent metallurgical bonding between the Al powders and the hollow tubes at 550℃.The plateau stress and energy absorption capacity of the Al foam in y-axis compression are significantly higher than that in the x-axis due to their anisotropic structure.In general,the Al foam with Mg addition presents the most superior compression performance,and we believe that our find-ings could open up a unique strategy for developing high-performance metallic foams with the periodic architecture involving both hierarchical porous and bi-directional graded structure.Zhigang Xu Dayong Shen Kai Wang Peng He Jian Zhang Hao Zhang Peng Cao Shangyu Huang Jian Peng Qiang Shen Chuanbin Wang Lianmeng Zhang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,17:0

19Dendrobium species regulate energy homeostasis in neurodegenerative diseases: a review显示文摘Brain energy homeostasis is a vital physiological function in maintaining a balanced internal metabolic environment.The impairment of energy homeostasis is recognized as a key pathophysiological basis for brain metabolic disorders and related neurodegenerative diseases.Dendrobium species(‘Shihu’in Chinese)such as D.officinale,D.huoshanense,D.nobile,D.chrysanthum,D.loddigesii,D.moniliforme,D.gratiosissimum,D.candidum and D.caulis are widely used as traditional Chinese medicines/nutraceuticals to control and treat neurodegenerative disorders.These dietary herbs and their derived compounds possess a variety of biological properties,such as suppression of oxidative stress and neuroinflammation,regulation of energy homeostasis mainly through improving brain mitochondria function,insulin signaling and lipid metabolism.Furthermore,they reduce neurotoxicity,alleviate brain injury and neuropathy,and prevent neurodegenerative conditions including stroke,Alzheimer’s disease,Parkinson’s disease,and Huntington’s disease in humans and/or rodents.Moreover,the nutraceuticals from Dendrobium species promote gut health and aid digestion,which appear to be associated with beneficial effects on brain energy homeostasis.Based on the above-mentioned health benefits associated with Dendrobium species,this work reviews their nutraceutical role in neurodegenerative disorders and further suggests the need to elucidate mechanisms of the underlying molecular actions.Feixuan Wang Jingqiong Wan Yangzhen Liao Shangyu Liu Yuan Wei Zhen Ouyang 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,6:0
