4Effect of competition on spatial patterns of oak forests on the Chinese Loess Plateau显示文摘Reforestation or natural forest regeneration is an alternative measure for controlling soil erosion in degraded land on the Chinese Loess Plateau(CLP). However, our understanding of the temporal dynamics and the spatial patterns of forest regeneration remains inadequate. Two oak forests at different development stages were investigated to determine the spatial patterns of competitions(intraspecies and interspecies) during different successional stages. The intraspecies and interspecies spatial relationships among different tree diameters at breast height were analyzed at multiple scales by Kriging interpolation method and univariate and bivariate O-ring statistics. Our analytical results indicated that self-correlation and competition intensity were relatively high between oak and pine trees in the early development stage of oak forests due to their clumped distributions of heavy seeds. Birch trees had a lower competition in comparison to oak trees although birch was the dominant species. Therefore, asymmetric competition of oak trees was most likely to have led to their edge dispersal and their success in replacing the pioneer species. Asymmetric competition means that larger individuals obtained a disproportionately large share of the resources and suppressed the growth of smaller individuals. Kriging interpolation analysis showed a tendency towards homogenization caused by interspecies competition during the succession of oak forests. 5Photothermally Responsive Conjugated Polymeric Singlet Oxygen Carrier for Phase Change-Controlled and Sustainable Phototherapy for Hypoxic Tumor显示文摘Hypoxia significantly compromises the therapeutic performance of photodynamic therapy(PDT)owing to the oxygen level which plays a key role in the production of singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2)).Herein,the photothermally responsive phase change materials(PCM)are used to encapsulate 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene-functionalized platinum(II)-acetylide conjugated polymer(CP1)with intense nearinfrared(NIR)absorption to prepare new ^(1)O_(2) nanocarriers(CP1-NCs).The 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene moieties in CP1-NCs can trap the ^(1)O_(2) produced from CP1 under irradiation and form a stable endoperoxide.Then,the endoperoxide undergoes cycloreversion to controllably release ^(1)O_(2) via the NIR light-triggered photothermal effect of CP1 and controllable phase change of PCM,which can be used for oxygen-independent PDT for hypoxic tumor.Furthermore,the in vivo luminescence imagingguided synergistic PDT and photothermal therapy showed better efficiency in tumor ablation.The smart design shows the potent promise of CP1-NCs in PCM-controlled and sustainable phototherapy under tumor hypoxic microenvironment,providing new insights for constructing oxygen-independent precise cancer phototherapeutic platform.Guo Li Ruyi Zhou Weili Zhao Bo Yu Jie Zhou Shujuan Liu Wei Huang Qiang Zhao 2020Research2020,,1:3

8A missing link of the Proto-Tethys Ocean between the Qinling and Qilian orogens,China:Insights from geochronology and structural geology显示文摘The Qinling-Qilian connection zone(QQCZ)is a key area to reveal the relationship and to make a link of the North Qinling and the North Qilian orogens,China.Here we present U-Pb dating data of detrital zircons from four sedimentary/metasedimentary rocks in the QQCZ and the southwestern North China Block(NCB)and detailed regional structural data.Three episodes of fold deformation(D1,D2 and D3)are distinguished in the QQCZ,with the former two occurred during the early Paleozoic.The D1 deformation is mainly characterized by regionally penetrative schistosity and some residual rootless intrafolial folds due to the intensive superpositions by the subsequent D2 and D3 deformations.The D2 deformation characterized by tight folds,associated axial plane foliations and crenulation lineations indicates a stress field characterized by NNE-SSW-directed compression,which may be induced by the collision between the NCB and the southern blocks.The D3 deformation which might occur during the Mesozoic is marked by upright open folds and kink bands.The similarity of the detrital zircon age spectra of the Huluhe Group in the North Qilian Orogen and the Erlangping Group in the North Qinling Orogen suggests that the two groups have similar provenance,which may indicate that the North Qilian Orogen corresponded to the North Qinling Orogen in a regional tectonic framework.In addition,the remarkable age peak at^435 Ma of the detrital zircon age spectrum of the Duanjiaxia Formation in the southwestern NCB indicates that this formation obtained the provenance of the North Qilian and North Qinling orogens,which may be generated by the collage of the southwestern NCB and the QQCZ during the Late Ordovician-Early Silurian.Based on structural,detrital zircon and metamorphic data,we suggest that the North Qilian and North Qinling orogens underwent similar evolution during the early Paleozoic due to the closure of the North Qilian and the Kuanping oceans which located at the northern boundary of the Proto-Tethys Ocean.Shujuan Zhao Sanzhong Li Huahua Cao Xiyao Li Xin Liu Shengyao Yu Xiaoyu Guo 2020Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,5:2
9Recyclable polymer-based nano-hydrous manganese dioxide for highly efficient Tl(I) removal from water显示文摘Tl(I)in water even at a trace level is fatal to human beings and the ecosystem.Here we fabricated a new polymer-supported nanocomposite(HMO-001)for efficient Tl(I)removal by encapsulating nanosized hydrous manganese dioxide(HMO)within a polystyrene cation exchanger(D-001).The resultant HMO-001 exhibited more preferable removal of Tl(I)than D-001 and IRC-748,an iminodiacetic chelating polymer,particularly in the presence of competing Ca(II)ions at greater levels in solution.Such preference was ascribed to the Donnan membrane effect caused by D-001 as well as the specific interaction between Tl(I)and HMO.The adsorbed Tl(I)was partially oxidized into insoluble Tl(III)by HMO at acidic pH,while negligible oxidation was observed at circumneutral pH.The exhausted HMO-001 was amenable to efficient regeneration by binary NaOH-NaClO solution for at least 10-cycle batch runs without any significant capacity loss.Fixed-bed column test of Tl(I)-contained industrial effluent and natural water further validated that Tl(I)retention on HMO-001 resulted in a conspicuous concentration drop from 1.3 mg/L to a value lower than 0.14 mg/L(maximum concentration level for industrial effluent regulated by US EPA)and from 1–4?g/L to a value lower than 0.1?g/L(drinking water standard regulated by China Health Ministry),respectively.PAN BingCai WAN ShunLi ZHANG ShuJuan GUO QingWei XU ZhengCheng LV Lu ZHANG WeiMing 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,5:2
10Factors influencing prehospital delay for patients with acute myocardial infarction显示文摘Objective To investigate the influencing factors for prehospital delay in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods A total of 807 consecutive patients with AMI who presented to the emergency department of Beijing Anzhen Hospital were analyzed. The influence of several potential risk factors on the prehospital delay time (PDT) was evaluated by comparing patients admitted more than 2 hours after onset of chese pain with those admitted within 2 hours after onset. Results Among 807 patients, 402 came to the hospital within 2 hours while the others arrived at the hospital after 2 hours. The median PDT was 130 min. Among the potential variables, advanced age, history of diabetes mellitus, occurrence of symptom at night and use of emergency medical service significantly affected PDT by multivariate analysis. 15Human cytomegalovirus miR-US5-1 inhibits viral replication by targeting Geminin mRNA显示文摘Viruses commonly create favorable cellular conditions for their survival through multiple mechanisms. Micro RNAs(mi RNAs), which function as post-transcriptional regulators, are utilized by human cytomegalovirus(HCMV) in its infection and pathogenesis. In the present study, the DNA replication inhibitor Geminin(GMNN) was identified to be a direct target of hcmv-mi R-US5-1. Overexpression of hcmv-mi R-US5-1 could block the accumulation of GMNN during HCMV infection, and the decrease of GMNN expression caused by hcmv-mi R-US5-1 or GMNN specific si RNA reduced HCMV DNA copies in U373 cells. Meanwhile, ectopic expression of hcmv-mi R-US5-1 and consequent lower expression of GMNN influenced host cell cycle and proliferation.
