| 1 | The clinical impact of bacterial biofilms显示文摘Bacteria survive in nature by forming biofilms on surfaces and probably most, if not all, bacteria (and fungi) are capable of forming biofilms. A biofilm is a structured consortium of bacteria embedded in a self-produced polymer matrix consisting of polysaccharide, protein and extracellular DNA. Bacterial biofilms are resistant to antibiotics, disinfectant chemicals and to phagocytosis and other components of the innate and adaptive inflammatory defense system of the body. It is known, for example, that persistence of staphylococcal infections related to foreign bodies is due to biofilm formation. Likewise, chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa lung infections in cystic fibrosis patients are caused by biofilm growing mucoid strains. Gradients of nutrients and oxygen exist from the top to the bottom of biofilms and the bacterial cells located in nutrient poor areas have decreased metabolic activity and increased doubling times. These more or less dormant cells are therefore responsible for some of the tolerance to antibiotics. Biofilm growth is associated with an increased level of mutations. Bacteria in biofilms communicate by means of molecules, which activates certain genes responsible for production of virulence factors and, to some extent, biofilm structure. This phenomenon is called quorum sensing and depends upon the concentration of the quorum sensing molecules in a certain niche, which depends on the number of the bacteria. Biofilms can be prevented by antibiotic prophylaxis or early aggressive antibiotic therapy and they can be treated by chronic suppressive antibiotic therapy. | 3 | Three dimensional shear wave velocity structure of the crust and upper mantle beneath China from ambient noise surface wave tomography显示文摘We determine the three-dimensional shear wave velocity structure of the crust and upper mantle in China using Green's functions obtained from seismic ambient noise cross-correlation.The data we use are from the China National Seismic Network,global and regional networks and PASSCAL stations in the region.We first acquire cross-correlation seismograms between all possible station pairs.We then measure the Rayleigh wave group and phase dispersion curves using a frequency-time analysis method from 8 s to 60 s.After that,Rayleigh wave group and phase velocity dispersion maps on 1° by 1° spatial grids are obtained at different periods.Finally,we invert these maps for the 3-D shear wave velocity structure of the crust and upper mantle beneath China at each grid node.The inversion results show large-scale structures that correlate well with surface geology.Near the surface,velocities in major basins are anomalously slow,consistent with the thick sediments.East-west contrasts are striking in Moho depth.There is also a fast mid-to-lower crust and mantle lithosphere beneath the major basins surrounding the Tibetan plateau (TP) and Tianshan (Junggar,Tarim,Ordos,and Sichuan).These strong blocks,therefore,appear to play an important role in confining the deformation of the TP and constraining its geometry to form its current triangular shape.In northwest TP in Qiangtang,slow anomalies extend from the crust to the mantle lithosphere.Meanwhile,widespread,a prominent low-velocity zone is observed in the middle crust beneath most of the central,eastern and southeastern Tibetan plateau,consistent with a weak (and perhaps mobile) middle crust. | Xinlei Sun Xiaodong Song Sihua Zheng Yingjie Yang Michael H. | 4 | On the combined effect of soil fertility and topography on tree growth in subtropical forest ecosystems—a study from SE China显示文摘Aims The aim of our research was to understand small-scale effects of topography and soil fertility on tree growth in a forest biodiversity and ecosystem functioning(BEF)experiment in subtropical SE China.Methods Geomorphometric terrain analyses were carried out at a spatial resolution of 5×5 m.Soil samples of different depth increments and data on tree height were collected from a total of 566 plots(667 m2 each).The soils were analyzed for carbon(soil organic carbon[SOC]),nitrogen,acidity,cation exchange capacity(CEC),exchangeable cations and base saturation as soil fertility attributes.All plots were classified into geomorphological units.Analyses of variance and linear regressions were applied to all terrain,soil fertility and tree growth attributes.Important Findings In general,young and shallow soils and relatively small differences in stable soil properties suggest that soil erosion has truncated the soils to a large extent over the whole area of the experiment.This explains the concurrently increasing CEC and SOC stocks downslope,in hollows and in valleys.However,colluvial,carbon-rich sediments are missing widely due to the convexity of the footslopes caused by uplift and removal of eroded sediments by adjacent waterways.The results showed that soil fertility is mainly influenced by topography.Monte-Carlo flow accumulation(MCCA),curvature,slope and aspect significantly affected soil fertility.Furthermore,soil fertility was affected by the different geomorphological positions on the experimental sites with ridge and spur positions showing lower exchangeable base cation contents,especially potassium(K),due to leaching.This geomorphological effect of soil fertility is most pronounced in the topsoil and decreases when considering the subsoil down to 50 cm depth.Few soil fertility attributes affect tree height after 1-2 years of growth,among which C stocks proved to be most important while pH_(KCl)and CEC only played minor roles.Nevertheless,soil acidity and a high proportion of Al on the exchange complex affected tree height even after only 1-2 years growth.Hence,our study showed that forest nutrition is coupled to a recycling of litter nutrients,and does not only depend on subsequent supply of nutrients from the mineral soil.Besides soil fertility,topography affected tree height.We found that especially MCCA as indicator of water availability affected tree growth at small-scale,as well as aspect.Overall,our synthesis on the interrelation between fertility,topography and tree growth in a subtropical forest ecosystem in SE China showed that topographic heterogeneity lead to ecological gradients across geomorphological positions.In this respect,small-scale soil-plant interactions in a young forest can serve as a driver for the future development of vegetation and biodiversity control on soil fertility.In addition,it shows that terrain attributes should be accounted for in ecological research. | Thomas Scholten Philipp Goebes Peter Kühn Steffen Seitz Thorsten Assmann Jürgen Bauhus Helge Bruelheide Francois Buscot Alexandra Erfmeier Markus Fischer Werner Härdtle Jin-Sheng He Keping Ma Pascal A.Niklaus Michael Scherer-Lorenzen Bernhard Schmid Xuezheng Shi Zhengshan Song Goddert von Oheimb Christian Wirth Tesfaye Wubet Karsten Schmidt | 2017 | Journal of Plant Ecology2017,10,1: | 22 |

| 8 | Ventral medial prefrontal functional connectivity and emotion regulation in chronic schizophrenia: A pilot study显示文摘People with schizophrenia exhibit impaired social cognitive functions, particularly emotion regulation. Abnormal activations of the ventral medial prefrontal cortex (vMPFC) during emotional tasks have been demonstrated in schizophrenia, suggesting its important role in emotion processing in patients. We used the resting-state functional connectivity approach, setting a functionally relevant region, the vMPFC, as a seed region to examine the intrinsic functional interactions and communication between the vMPFC and other brain regions in schizophrenic patients. We found hypo-connectivity between the vMPFC and the medial frontal cortex, right middle temporal lobe (MTL), right hippocampus, parahippocampal cortex (PHC) and amygdala. Further, there was a decreased strength of the negative connectivity (or anticorrelation) between the vMPFC and the bilateral dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and pre-supplementary motor areas. Among these connectivity alterations, reduced vMPFC-DLPFC connectivity was positively correlated with positive symptoms on the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale, while vMPFC-right MTL/PHC/amygdala functional connectivity was positively correlated with the performance of emotional regulation in patients. These findings imply that communication and coordination throughout the brain networks are disrupted in schizophrenia. | 16 | Prevalence of sensitization to weed pollens of Humulus scandens,Artemisia vulgaris,and Ambrosia artemisiifolia in northern China显示文摘Objective:Weed pollens are common sources of allergens worldwide.The prevalence of weed pollen sensitization is not yet fully known in China.The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of sensitization to weed allergens from Artemisia,Ambrosia,and Humulus in northern China.Methods:A total of 1144 subjects(aged from 5 to 68 years) visiting our clinic from June to October 2011 underwent intradermal testing using a panel of 25 allergen sources.Subjects with positive skin responses to any pollen were further tested for their serum concentrations of IgE antibodies against Artemisia vulgaris,Ambrosia artemisiifolia,and Humulus scandens,and against the purified allergens,Art v 1 and Amb a 1.Results:Of 1144 subjects,170 had positive intradermal reactions to pollen and 144 donated serum for IgE testing.The prevalence of positive intradermal responses to pollens of Artemisia sieversiana,Artemisia annua,A.artemisiifolia,and H.scandens was 11.0%,10.2%,3.7%,and 6.6%,respectively.Among the intradermal positive subjects,the prevalence of specific IgE antigens to A.vulgaris was 58.3%,to A.artemisiifolia 14.7%,and to H.scandens 41.0%.The prevalence of specific IgE antigens to the allergen Art v 1 was 46.9%,and to Amb a 1 was 11.2%.The correlation between the presence of IgE antibodies specific to A.vulgaris and to the Art v 1 antigen was very high.Subjects with A.artemisiifolia specific IgE also had A.vulgaris specific IgE,but with relatively high levels of A.vulgaris IgE antibodies.There were no correlations between the presence of IgE antibodies to H.scandens and A.vulgaris or to H.scandens and A.artemisiifolia.Conclusions:The intradermal prevalence of weed pollen sensitization among allergic subjects in northern China is about 13.5%.Correlations of specific IgE antibodies suggest that pollen allergens from Artemisia and Humulus are independent sources for primary sensitization. | Guo-dong HAO Yi-wu ZHENG Birgitte GJESING Xing-ai KONG Jing-yuan WANG Zhi-jing SONG Xu-xin LAI Nan-shan ZHONG Michael D.SPANGFORT | 2013 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2013,14,3: | 5 |

| 19 | 大数据驱动创新过程提高数字创新绩效的路径显示文摘企业数字创新进程不断加速,研究表明,大数据驱动创新过程有利于提高创新绩效,但不同阶段以及不同水平的大数据驱动创新过程与创新绩效的作用机理仍有待研究,数字创新理论及具有中国特色数字创新理论亟待发展。本文探究大数据驱动创新过程通过产品创新度影响创新绩效的路径与机理,收集594个中国、475个美国和507个英国数字创新项目,采用多元回归、层次回归与“pick-a-point”方法,实证分析大数据驱动创新过程对产品创新度的倒U型影响,检验大数据驱动运营对产品创新度与绩效关系的调节作用。研究结果表明,在中国,大数据驱动商业分析、产品设计与商业化对产品创新度产生倒U型影响,即双元驱动商业分析、产品设计与商业化最能提升产品创新度。调节检验结果表明,随经验驱动运营向大数据驱动运营转变,产品创新度对创新绩效由U型影响变为正向影响。当产品创新度很低或很高时,大数据驱动运营抑制产品创新度对创新绩效的积极影响,而当产品创新度处于中间水平时,大数据驱动运营促进产品创新度对创新绩效的积极影响。跨国比较还发现,美国和英国具有类似的研究结论。通过理论分析与实证检验,研究丰富了数字创新理论,推进了具有中国特色的数字创新理论发展,揭示了大数据驱动创新过程、产品创新度与创新绩效的效应路径与作用机理,发展了大数据驱动运营相关理论,拓展了影响产品创新度与创新绩效关系的情境因素,为企业数字创新实施提供了新的管理见解和策略启示。 | 张海丽 王宇凡 Michael Song | 2023 | 科学学研究2023,41,6: | 4 |
| 20 | 乌司奴单抗改善中、重度斑块状银屑病患者健康相关生活质量和临床疗效观察显示文摘目的:评估乌司奴单抗对中国3期、双盲、安慰剂对照临床(LOTUS)研究患者健康相关生活质量(HRQoL)的影响。方法:共322例患者,在第0周和第4周随机接受乌司奴单抗45mg(n=160)或安慰剂(n=162);第12周和第16周安慰剂组交叉使用乌司奴单抗,而乌司奴单抗组则在第16周继续使用乌司奴单抗。第12周HRQoL终点包括皮肤病生活质量指数(DLQI)评分较基线的变化、单个DLQI域的变化、DLQI评分为0分或1分的患者比例以及获得有临床意义DLQI改善(评分降低≥5分)的患者比例。结果:乌司奴单抗治疗患者12周时DLQI评分较基线的改善(-9.3分)显著优于安慰剂组(-1.9分)(P<0.001)。同样,乌司奴单抗治疗后DLQI≤1分的患者比例显著高于安慰剂组(42.6%vs 10.7%,P<0.001),乌司奴单抗组和安慰剂组治疗后分别有71.5%和29.6%的患者DLQI降低≥5分(P均<0.001)。乌司奴单抗治疗患者12周时单个DLQI域与安慰剂相比显著改善(P<0.001)。乌司奴单抗组DLQI的改善在治疗28周内持续存在。交叉接受乌司奴单抗的安慰剂组患者,与最初随机接受乌司奴单抗治疗的患者相比,HRQoL改善程度类似。结论:乌司奴单抗显著改善了中国中至重度斑块状银屑病患者的HRQoL。 | 朱学骏 郑敏 Michael Song Chenglong Han Daphne Chan Y.K.Shen 王宝玺 | 2014 | 临床皮肤科杂志2014,43,9: | 4 |
