Immunogold particles in large numbers were detected in various parts of the viruliferous females: the ovum, surface of chorion, the mid-gut lumen, and the columnar cells. Whereas there was noneof these particles in the non-viruliferous females and males, and testis of viruliferous males. Endosymbionts (mycetocytes) were abundant, harboring ovaries of both viruliferous and non-viruliferous females, but none in the testis of males. The results provided us with the direct proof that RSV is a ciruculative and propagative plant virus and it was transovarially transmitted alongside with endosymbionts of its vector. | 3 | Community structure and elevational diversity patterns of soil Acidobacteria显示文摘Acidobacteria is one of the most dominant and abundant phyla in soil,and was believed to have a wide range of metabolic and genetic functions. Relatively little is known about its community structure and elevational diversity patterns. We selected four elevation gradients from 1000 to 2800 m with typical vegetation types of the northern slope of Shennongjia Mountain in central China. The vegetation types were evergreen broadleaved forest,deciduous broadleaved forest,coniferous forest and sub-alpine shrubs. We analyzed the soil acidobacterial community composition,elevational patterns and the relationship between Acidobacteria subdivisions and soil enzyme activities by using the 16 S rRNA meta-sequencing technique and multivariate statistical analysis. The result found that 19 known subdivisions as well as an unclassified phylotype were presented in these forest sites,and Subdivision 6 has the highest number of detectable operational taxonomic units(OTUs). A significant single peak distribution pattern(P < 0.05) between the OTU number and the elevation was observed. The Jaccard and Bray–Curtis index analysis showed that the soil Acidobacteria compositional similarity significantly decreased(P < 0.01) with the increase in elevation distance. Mantel test analysis showed the most of the soil Acidobacteria subdivisions had the significant relationship(P < 0.01) with different soil enzymes. Therefore,soil Acidobacteria may be involved in different ecosystem functions in global elemental cycles. | 4 | Chemical screen identifies a geroprotective role of quercetin in premature aging显示文摘Aging increases the risk of various diseases. The main goal of aging research is to find therapies that attenuate aging and alleviate aging-related diseases. In this study, we screened a natural product library for geroprotective compounds using Werner syndrome (WS) human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs), a premature aging model that we recently established. Ten candidate compounds were identified and quercetin was investigated in detail due to its leading effects. Mechanistic studies revealed that quercetin alleviated senescence via the enhancement of cell proliferation and restoration of heterochromatin architecture in WS hMSCs. RNA-sequencing analysis revealed the transcriptional commonalities and differences in the geroprotective effects by quercetin and Vitamin C. Besides WS hMSCs, quercetin also attenuated cellular senescence in Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) and physiological-aging hMSCs. | 5 | GGE biplot analysis of yield stability and test location representativeness in proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) genotypes显示文摘The experiments were conducted for three consecutive years across 14 locations using 9 non-waxy proso millet genotypes and 16 locations using 7 waxy proso millet genotypes in China. The objectives of this study were to analyze yield stability and adaptability of proso millets and to evaluate the discrimination and representativeness of locations by analysis of variance(ANOVA) and genotype and genotype by environment interaction(GGE) biplot methods. Grain yields of proso millet genotypes were significantly influenced by environment(E), genotype(G) and their interaction(G×E)(P<0.1%). G×E interaction effect was six times higher than G effect in non-waxy group and seven times in waxy group. N04-339 in non-waxy and Neimi 6(NM6) in waxy showed higher grain yields and stability compared with other genotypes. Also, Neimi 9(NM9, a non-waxy cultivar) and 90322-2-33(a waxy cultivar) showed higher adaptability in 7 and in 11 locations, respectively. For non-waxy, Dalat, Inner Mongolia(E2) and Wuzhai, Shanxi(E5) were the best sites among all the locations for maximizing the variance among candidate cultivars, and Yanchi, Ningxia(E10) had the best representativeness. Wuzhai, Shanxi(e9) and Yanchi, Ningxia(e14) were the best representative locations, and Baicheng, Jilin(e2) was better discriminating location than others for waxy genotypes. | 8 | Variation at the transcriptional level among Chinese natural populations of Arabidopsis thaliana in response to cold stress显示文摘The Arabidopsis 25K GeneChip (ATH1, Affymetrix) was used to make a survey of the variation of the transcriptional profiles among 5 Chinese natural populations of Arabidopsis thaliana under cold treatment. In normal growth condition, the expression level of 2.26% (513 genes in the population from Jiujiang, Jiangxi, JXjjx) to 6.52% (1482 genes in the population from Tongliang, Chongqing, CQtlx) genes was 2-fold higher than that of Col ecotype. Under cold treatment, the expression of 12.84% (2920 genes in the population from Chenggu, Shaanxi, SXcgx) to 19.46% (4426 genes in the population from Qinghe, Xinjiang, XJqhx) genes was up- or down-regulated by at least two-fold that of their controls. In general, most of up-regulated genes might be the genes essential for plant surviving at low temperature, such as genes in CBF pathway and the genes responsible for synthesizing molecules accumulated for cold tolerance. However, each natural population had some specific genes induced under cold treatment. The data indicated that some of the cold-responding genes were differentiated among the populations distributed in the natural habitats with different climate conditions. CBF3, one of the key tran-scription factor genes in cold responding pathway, showed significant differences in expression among populations. The sequence analysis indicated that the changes in its regulation region caused the dramatic difference in the expression pattern. | 10 | CFAR assessment of covariance matrix estimators for non-Gaussian clutter显示文摘In the non-Gaussian clutter modeled as independent and identically distributed spherically invariant random vectors, three estimators of sample covariance matrix (SCM), normalized sample covariance matrix (NSCM) and the corresponding recursive estimator (NSCM-RE) are analyzed. Based on the uniform theorem, three corresponding adaptive normalized matched filters (ANMF) are evaluated from the standpoint of constant false alarm rate (CFAR) property. The theoretical results demonstrate that the SCM-ANMF is only CFAR to the normalized clutter covariance matrix (NCCM); the NSCM-ANMF is only CFAR to the clutter power level; and the NSCM-RE-ANMF with finite number of iterations is still not CFAR to the NCCM. To ensure CFAR property of ANMF, an adaptive estimator (AE) is devised. Moreover, with AE as the initialization matrix for the iterations, the AE-RE is proposed. With finite number of iterations, the corresponding AE-REANMF guarantees CFAR property to both of the NCCM and the clutter power level. | 11 | Design,methodology,and baseline of whole city‑million scale children and adolescents myopia survey(CAMS)in Wenzhou,China显示文摘Background:Myopia is the most common visual impairment in children and adolescents worldwide.This study described an economical and effective population-based screening pipeline and performed the project of a million scale children and adolescents myopia survey(CAMS),which will shed light on the further study of myopia from the level of epidemiology and precision medicine.Methods:We developed a novel population-based screening pattern,an intelligent screening process and internetbased information transmission and analysis system to carry out the survey consisting of school children in Wenzhou,China.The examination items include unaided distance visual acuity,presenting distance visual acuity,and noncycloplegic autorefraction.Myopia and high myopia were defined as spherical equivalent(SE)≤−1.00 diopters(D)and SE≤−6.00 D,respectively.Next,the reports of the vision checking were automatically sent to parents and the related departments.The CAMS project will be done two to four times annually with the support of the government.An online eyesight status information management system(OESIMS)was developed to construct comprehensive and efficient electronic vision health records(EVHRs)for myopia information inquiry,risk pre-warning,and further study.Results:The CAMS completed the first-round of screening within 30 days for 99.41%of Wenzhou students from districts and counties,in June 2019.A total of 1,060,925 participants were eligible for CAMS and 1,054,251(99.37%participation rate)were selected through data quality control,which comprised 1305 schools,and 580,609,251,050 and 170,967 elementary,middle,and high school students.The mean age of participants was 12.21±3.32 years(6-20 years),the female-to-male ratio was 0.82.The prevalence of myopia in elementary,middle,and high school students was 38.16%,77.52%,and 84.00%,respectively,and the high myopia incidence was 0.95%,6.90%,and 12.98%.Conclusions:The CAMS standardized myopia screening model involves automating large-scale information collection,data transmission,data analysis and early warning,thereby supporting myopia prevention and control.The entire survey reduced 90%of staff,cost,and time consumption compared with previous surveys.This will provide new insights for decision support for public health intervention. | Liangde Xu Youyuan Zhuang Guosi Zhang Yunlong Ma Jian Yuan Changseng Tu MiaoMiao Li Wencan Wang Yaru Zhang Xiaoyan Lu Jing Li Xinting Liu Zhengbo Xue Meng Zhou Jie Sun Jinhua Bao Ming Li Fan Lu Hong Wang Jianzhong Su Jia Qu | 2021 | Eye and Vision2021,8,1: | 7 |

An adaptive detector is derived for range-spread target based on a novel covariance matrix estimator. It is proved that the new detector is constant false alarm rate (CFAR) to both of the clutter covariance matrix structure and power level theoretically for match cases. The simulation results show that the new detector is almost CFAR for mismatch cases, and it outperforms the existing adaptive detector based on the sample covariance matrix. It also shows that the detection performance improves, as the number of pulses, the number of secondary data or the clutter spike increases. In addition, the derived detector is robust to different subsets, estimated clutter group sizes and correlations of clutter. However, the materials selected for use in the repair of peripheral nerve injuries, in particular multiple injuries and largegap defects, must be chosen carefully. Various methods and materials for protecting the healthy tissue and repairing peripheral nerve injuries have been described, and each method or material has advantages and disadvantages. Recently, a large amount of research has been focused on tissue-engineered materials for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries. Using the keywords 'peripheral nerve injury', 'autotransplant', 'nerve graft', and 'biomaterial', we retrieved publications using tissue-engineered materials for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries appearing in the Web of Science from 2010 to 2014. The country with the most total publications was the USA. The institutions that were the most productive in this field include Hannover Medical School(Germany), Washington University(USA), and Nantong University(China). Both CoCrCuFe Ni and CoCrCuFeNi–TiO alloys are composed of a face-centered cubic(fcc) solid solution, whereas the alloys of CoCrCuFeNi–TiO are basically composed of an fcc solid solution and TiO crystals. The microstructures of CoCrCuFeNi–TiO are identified as dendrite and interdendrite structures such as CoCrCuFeNi. The morphology of TiO is identified as an equiaxed crystal with a small amount of added Ti_2CO. By increasing the amount of Ti_2CO added, the TiO content was dramatically increased and part of the equiaxed crystals changed to a dendrite structure. A test of the oxidation resistance demonstrates that the oxidation resistance of CoCrCuFeNi–TiO is better than that of CoCrCu Fe Ni. | 17 | Anatomical variation of infra-pyloric artery origination: A prospective multicenter observational study (IPA-Origin)显示文摘Objective: Infra-pyloric artery(IPA) is an important anatomical landmark in treatment of gastric cancer and is the key vessel for pylorus-preserving gastrectomy and subgroup of infra-pyloric lymph nodes. However, its anatomical variation is not thoroughly understood. Our study aimed to clarify the origination of the IPA.Methods: We did this prospective, multicenter, open-label, observational study at gastric surgery departments of34 hospitals in China. Gastric cancer patients aged 18 years or older and scheduled to undergo elective total or distal gastrectomy were assigned. During the surgery, IPA dissecting and exposing the origination point with photographs or video clips were required. The primary outcome was the origination of the IPA. Analysis of variance, χ~2 tests and Fisher's tests were used to analyze the differences between groups. The study is registered at Clinicaltrials.gov(No. NCT03071237).Results: Between May 8 and July 31, 2017, 429 patients were assigned for the study, and 419(97.7%) patients had the IPA dissected and recorded through photograph or video and were included in the primary outcome analysis. The median age was 62 years old, and 73.7% were male. Among the patients, 78.5% received laparoscopic surgery. Single IPA origination was identified in 398(95.0%) patients, including gastroduodenal artery(GDA) in154(36.8%) patients, anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery(ASPDA) in 130(31.0%) patients, and right gastroepiploic artery(RGEA) in 114(27.2%) patients. Fifteen(3.6%) patients were identified with multiple IPA and 6(1.4%) patients were identified as IPA absence. The differences in the distribution of surgical approach(P=0.003) and geographic area(P=0.030) were statistically significant. | 19 | Decentralized fault-tolerant cooperative control of multiple UAVs with prescribed attitude synchronization tracking performance under directed communication topology显示文摘In this paper, a decentralized fault-tolerant cooperative control scheme is developed for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) in the presence of actuator faults and a directed communication network. To counteract in-flight actuator faults and enhance formation flight safety, neural networks(NNs) are used to approximate unknown nonlinear terms due to the inherent nonlinearities in UAV models and the actuator loss of control effectiveness faults. To further compensate for NN approximation errors and actuator bias faults, the disturbance observer(DO) technique is incorporated into the control scheme to increase the composite approximation capability.Moreover, the prediction errors, which represent the approximation qualities of the states induced by NNs and DOs to the measured states, are integrated into the developed fault-tolerant cooperative control scheme. Furthermore,prescribed performance functions are imposed on the attitude synchronization tracking errors, to guarantee the prescribed synchronization tracking performance. One of the key features of the proposed strategy is that unknown terms due to the inherent nonlinearities in UAVs and actuator faults are compensated for by the composite approximators constructed by NNs, DOs, and prediction errors. Another key feature is that the attitude synchronization tracking errors are strictly constrained within the prescribed bounds.
